Have you done this? How have you done this?

I'm 5'8" and 19st.
I know I need to eat less and move more.

I have small children and I'm still breastfeeding. Apart from the standard chasing a toddler I'm pretty sedentary. I do all the cooking, not terribly unhealthy food but probably much too much of it.

Help me give myself a kick up my huge arse please!!

Oh @daisyhead08 , you’ve been such an inspiration to me. That last bit will go and when you look back, it won’t look like the struggle it was.whether it shows on the scales or not, your good work is still going on.
@Shatteredconfidence, might be time to become growing confidence, because this is working.
I am 100.5 today, from 101.4 last week. Expect I will gain for this week though as I have a friend staying and there’s a bit more wine and pudding going on.

Rebuildingconfidence · 18/08/2020 18:50

Well done @zebracat !!!

Taken your prompt and name changed to something more positive 😁

Well done @Zebracat. You are sooo close to sub 100!

OrlandointheWilderness · 19/08/2020 00:12

Hiya, can I join?

I started on may 18th at 20st4, the fattest I've ever been. I was drinking lots of wine, could barely walk without getting out of breath and I was suffering to be honest.

I've gone gluten free due to health requirements. I stick to 1200 cals a day. I've given up alcohol completely and sugar. I completed c25k with my mum in lockdown and now I'm running 5k three times a week.

I'm now also 17stone and going down every day! What is so wonderful is how easy it is now - it's just my life! And I love it.

Fatandnearly50 · 19/08/2020 07:25

Welcome @OrlandointheWilderness!

Sounds like you’ve had a great start! Well done!

snappycamper · 19/08/2020 08:26

Wow great start @OrlandointheWilderness. Welcome!

itustiime · 19/08/2020 22:18

This thread keeps vanishing for me so a quick post to try and make it stay (on holiday right now, eating everything I can see unfortunately- be back on the thread on Saturday)

Zebracat · 19/08/2020 22:46

Ooh @OrlandointheWilderness, you are doing so well, lovely to have you.

OrlandointheWilderness · 19/08/2020 23:42

Thanks guys. I went running today so still on track lol!

EightToSixer · 20/08/2020 08:25

Wow @orlandointhewilderness. What an achievement! Welcome to the group. I’m a newbie too, I’ve been here for 3 weeks.

3 week weigh in today. I’m down 8lbs this week! Which is 22lbs down in 3 weeks! It definitely seems like keto is the way forward for me. I don’t even feel like cheating which has never happened on a diet before.

Isn’t it funny how it is different diets that we all follow and work for us. No one solution to weight loss but we are all finding things that work for us. Keto is perfect for me despite all my uncertainty at first. Find what works for you and stick to it.

Winningatseesaw · 21/08/2020 03:56

Well done everyone! Huge losses. Makes me almost embarrassed to post my 0.2kgs loss! Teeny. Not sure why. I do have my period (finally) so that could be it.

I did have two doughnuts last weekend (surprise delivery from a friend) but had dropped calories for the following days to make up for it so don't believe it's that.

Still...onwards we go..

Takes my total loss to 16.2kgs - 2 stone 7 lbs

eclipsechips · 21/08/2020 08:28

Hi, can I please join? I'm 40 and 5ft 4" and currently weigh 16st 8lbs at the start of lockdown I was 17st 5.8lbs and I kept gaining weight (not sure how much as I avoided the scales!) but DH and I started Slimfast 5/6 weeks ago and although during this time we got a new pup (we already had one at a year old) and took a week off we seem to be doing well. We're saving for private fertility treatment so I need to keep up the weight loss!

Zebracat · 22/08/2020 11:46

Hello to @eclipsechips. Sounds like you’ve got off to a great start.. I’ve had people to stay and meals out , puddings chocolate, lots of wine this week, even had a Macdonalds meal! And loved every minute of it, and I haven’t really binged, just had a heavy week. I’ve gained a kilo, already and there are more jollies to come before my weigh in on Tuesday, so when Im whining next week, hope someone will remind me that I said it was ok, and wasn’t going to get into a cycle of hopelessness and self loathing.
The trouble is that I feel thin now, although at 101.5 kilos,I am not.

I know exactly how you feel @Zebracat. I have had a big week, with many meals out (and a McDonald’s!) but one DC has moved out, another had GCSE results and friends had a ‘party’ (max six households outside etc!) where I drank a lot. I have another meal out with family today. It has not been a normal week! I had a sneak peak and think I’m looking at 1-1.5kg gain but will see tomorrow. Life happens, sometimes we have to go with it. I know whilst I have eaten/drunk lots it isn’t as much as I would have done a few months ago.

The important thing is that we get back on it properly. 🤞we can do that effectively next week.

Nixi4 · 24/08/2020 11:44

1lb for me! Not great but still going downwards. Need to focus this week and put some extra walks in.. I really feel like I want to start running to help with fitness / weight loss but also think I'm still too heavy! I don't want to injure myself as getting regular exercise now, which is a massive improvement to six months ago.

snappycamper · 24/08/2020 14:16

Stayed the same this week. Need the kids to go back to school to get all the junk out of the house Angry

Starting weight: 136.7kg
Week 1: 133.8kg
Week 2: 134.9kg
Week 3: 134.4kg
Week 4: 134.3kg

itustiime · 24/08/2020 23:02

Everyone - small losses, big losses, staying the same, it's all great. I'm so proud of you all Smile

I'm still not doing great, permanently fluctuating between 16 stone 9, and 16 stone 13 Blush

Rebuildingconfidence · 25/08/2020 07:34

Weigh in day for me - seem to have gainef 1kg this week ... seems unfair as I haven't been too bad but did have a 24 hour journey on sunday / monday which might have messed things up, and I also have my period so I was a lot hungrier! Have to get back to it from today as I really want to get under 100kgs.

15/07 - 108kg

21/07 - 106kg

28/07 - 107kg

4/08 - 105kg

11/08 103kg

18/08 102kg

25/08 103kg

Solina · 25/08/2020 08:45

Hello I would like to join. I have put on quite a bit of weight since March on top of what I already had and now I am looking to have to lose over 60kg of weight. Feel like crying at the state of myself but no point just wallowing in self pity.

I need to lose most of the weight in the next 2 years and I am hoping to be under 100kg within a year.

Planning on doing this with combination on meal prepping and calorie counting. The biggest struggle for me is making what I plan to eat and too big portions when I do cook hence we are meal prepping portions to just take out from the fridge. I can eat up to 2100 calories a day if I wanted to in order to lose weight at a 0.5kg pace per week but I am aiming for 1800 most days for now. I can't do the 1200 calories I see some people doing as I will just end up binging.

Anyways, thats me. Hope you don't mind me joining!

Rebuildingconfidence · 25/08/2020 11:40

Hi @Solina - the more the merrier. This thread is great for support and for people who understand what a long journey this is and how challenging it is.

No quick fixes, but just try to keep focused and build good habits and good health and hopefully see the number on the scales decrease.

Zebracat · 25/08/2020 21:06

I weighed 101.1 kilos this morning, about 600 grams up, which is amazing with meals out etc. I am concerned though that the junk is creeping back in. Today I’ve had a kitkat and an ice cream mars bar, really need to stop this.

Zebracat · 25/08/2020 21:07

Oh and Hallo to @Solina.

Solina · 25/08/2020 22:49

@Rebuildingconfidence I was glad to find this thread with people in similar situation. Just what I needed. I found the ones of people wanting to lose half a stone a bit disheartening even if everyone just has the same goal of losing weight.

I really am hoping the prepping ahead will help build better habits and help with smaller portions. It also helps that I no longer go to the shops due to working from home and we order all shopping online. There are no opportunities for junk.

Today I have ended up with 1450 calories which is actually way under my goal but I had 3 decent meals and snacks so didn't feel the need to eat any more. Feel pretty positive about this.
