Have you done this? How have you done this?

I'm 5'8" and 19st.
I know I need to eat less and move more.

I have small children and I'm still breastfeeding. Apart from the standard chasing a toddler I'm pretty sedentary. I do all the cooking, not terribly unhealthy food but probably much too much of it.

Help me give myself a kick up my huge arse please!!

@Nixi4 - that's amazing well done!

I also hate people knowing I am dieting!

WI today for me and down another 1.5kg so 9kg lost so far, which I am really happy with Smile. BMI is officially 40 so just another 1kg to get it to 39.8, so close!

Wk 0 - 118.5kg (18st 9lbs)
Wk 1 - 113.5kg (17st 12lbs)
Wk 2 - 113.1kg (17st 11lbs)
Wk 3 - 113.6kg (17st 12lbs)
Wk 4 - 111.5kg (17st 8lbs)
Wk 5 - 111.0kg (17st 7lbs)
Wk 6 - 109.5kg (17st 3.5lbs)

Fatandnearly50 · 11/08/2020 08:10

And the best win is that I have got up and dressed today to go to a work thing where I have to be smart. I was last there a month ago and my jacket barely went on and didn’t do up.

This morning is goes on very smoothly and does up!! Small but significant wins SmileSmile

Shatteredconfidence · 11/08/2020 08:15

@fatandnearly50 love that feeling! Well done.

I am 2kgs down this week!

15/07 - 108kg

21/07 - 106kg

28/07 - 107kg

4/08 - 105kg

12/08 103kg

Zebracat · 11/08/2020 09:25

Such impressive losses. I have lost 300 grams In the last week, which is ok, I suppose. Someone said recently that it is better than continuing to gain weight and that is true. Also I have lost 4.5 kilos since 18th July, so those grams do add up. My little win for today is that I am wearing a dress I’ve had for about 3 months, and realised today that it has little gathers in the back, that I couldn’t even see before.Perhaps my waist is no longer 42 inches?

snappycamper · 11/08/2020 09:46

Morning all, I'm back from my holiday and catching up on some brilliant losses!

Like @Fatandnearly50, I'm currently focusing on getting out of the morbidly obese category and down to "just obese". Overweight feels like a million miles away. If I can go at a kilo a week and not think too much about how long the road is it feels less overwhelming to me. BMI currently 44 Blush.

Small gain this week after a fab holiday so I'm content with that. Back fasting this week.

Starting weight: 136.7kg
Week 1: 133.8kg
Week 2: 134.9kg

Fatandnearly50 · 11/08/2020 12:42

Thanks!

Well done @Shatteredconfidence, that's great!

@Zebracat - 300g is 300g, take it!

@snappycamper, that's a tiny gain after a fab holiday, as long as you get back on track it really doesn't matter.

Have a great week all!

daisyhead08 · 12/08/2020 11:58

Great to see some fab losses and, equally impressive, some serious holiday maintenance.

I ended up really sick last week, I had an awful migraine and diet and weightloss went out the window as I couldn't walk and ate a lot of toast!

Back to it since Sunday really. I'm down a pound from 2 weeks ago which is ok under the circumstances. I had wanted to be another 10 lbs down by 1st September but that won't happen now, I'll do my best and keep going.

It's good to be back on track though. Feel much better about it all when I feel I'm on top of it.

Nixi4 · 12/08/2020 12:00

I know we should appreciate the sunshine, but it's really getting in the way of my walking! It's been too hot to take the dogs out for a walk. last night at 9pm the pavement was still 30+ ..I'm sat in my office getting stressed about my step count! What has happened to me??? 😬

Zebracat · 12/08/2020 14:10

I never feel fatter than when the weather is hot. Just a complete sweaty mess. I ve got lots to do today but it isn’t going to happen. The decision to make is whether I will be cooler to read my book under a big tree in the garden or inside the house.

Nixi4 · 12/08/2020 19:22

@Zebracat so true! The heat makes you really feel every extra pound! I guilted myself into a four mile walk when it was 33c which probably wasn't the best idea, and I resembled a beetroot for an hour after. Lots of fluids, and now it's tipping it down so dog walk to be done.. next time it's hot I'm hoping a few more pounds will be gone.

Fatandnearly50 · 12/08/2020 20:09

Definitely not loving the sweating going on here today 😬😬

Zebracat · 12/08/2020 20:43

@Nixi4 a 4 mile walk in 33 degree heat is incredible. You rock! I had to go out today and intended to walk, it also would have been 4 miles, but I bottled it and took my car.

EightToSixer · 13/08/2020 13:20

Too damn hot! I feel massive right now.
However I’ve just weighed in and I’m down 2lbs. That’s a total of 1 stone in 2 weeks of keto. 4 more stones and I’m allowed a dog🐕 (I have about another 9 stone to lose altogether but 1 is a start)

Nixi4 · 13/08/2020 17:35

I'm just about to one of my friends houses to have dinner with a group of best friends.. there are four of us that have been through thick and thin..(life not weight 🤣) but part of me is reluctant to go as it will derail my low carb diet. I feel awful/guilty that I'm reluctant to spend time with my favourite people due to my weight loss. Totally they would cook low carb for me.. but I don't want to put them out. Arrrrrrgh!

snappycamper · 13/08/2020 18:19

Eighttosixer a stone in two weeks is incredible! Well done.

I've always found keto fast but not sustainable for me as I love bread too much. If you can keep it up it's a great fast way to lose though.

Nixi I struggle with this too when I'm really on it. I do tend to sacrifice socialising for weight loss though.

daisyhead08 · 13/08/2020 20:57

@Nixi4, I understand completely. I went out to dinner with my friend who I hadn't seen since November. We went mad, but it was worth the sts that week. This is long term stuff here. We need to be able to celebrate and see friends and enjoy life too. You know you can get straight back into it the following day and that's the key to success.

Zebracat · 13/08/2020 22:34

Thanks @daisyhead08. I’ve been worrying that I have a friend coming to stay, but your right, have to learn to live, and incorporate healthy eating, and the occasional overindulgence into our everyday life not be derailed or avoid good times.

Winningatseesaw · 13/08/2020 23:39

I don't like people know I'm trying to lose weight because I've been up and down for years and I find it embarrassing!

I would enjoy it when friends come over as it's one meal or one weekend or whatever. As a pp said, this is a lifetime thing.

Friday morning weigh in
98.6 (15 stone 7) - loss of 0.8kg

Loss since "unpaused" 17/5: 7.6kgs (1 stone 2)

Loss since start date of 31/7/19- 16kgs (2 stone 7)

Slow but going in the right direction!

Have a good weekend all

Winningatseesaw · 13/08/2020 23:42

@eighttosixer a stone in 2 weeks is amazing! Well done. So motivating

Well done on all the losses and keeping up exercise despite the heat.

Shatteredconfidence · 14/08/2020 16:29

Had a day off yesterday which involved pizza and donuts but I am not letting it get me down!!! It was a fun day with family and I am back on the wagon today. Even though I did eat pizza and donuts, it was in no way as excessive as it would have been before I committed myself to this thread!

I had two very small donuts and five slices of pizza. Previously I can imagine that would have been alongside a day of also eating biscuits and crisps and drinking fizzy drinks.

I was a lot hungrier today than usual so that's why I am checking in to stay accountable.

Funny that the more I eat, the hungrier I get! Makes sense when you have read the Obesity Code. Doesn't make it much easier to resist eating a lot though!

Fatandnearly50 · 17/08/2020 08:57

WI this morning and have put on 1/2 a kg. I am absolutely fine with that, I have eaten out three times this week and have had a really stressful week with a lot going on. I have still been mindful of eating but know I have eaten some stuff that I wouldn't ordinarily have chosen too, but clearly not in excess!

It's a journey and I needed that shortbread!! Still got a lot going on at the moment but hoping to be a bit more on track this week.

Have a good week all Smile

Half a kilo off this week for me. Happy with that as it's hormonal week for me. I'm experimenting with lengthening my fast, which I find easier if I skip my evening meal and breakfast, just eating in the middle of the day.

Starting weight: 136.7kg
Week 1: 133.8kg
Week 2: 134.9kg
Week 3: 134.4kg

Shatteredconfidence · 18/08/2020 07:59

15/07 - 108kg

21/07 - 106kg

28/07 - 107kg

4/08 - 105kg

11/08 103kg

18/08 102kg

Scales aren't that accurate but hopefully that's another kilo off for me this week. More than happy with that. 6kgs since I started.

I bought a skirt a few weeks ago (size 18) that I could only wear with the top button undone but last night I was able to wear it with the button done so my tummy is getting smaller.

daisyhead08 · 18/08/2020 09:34

I'm still stalking this thread, but struggling. I've re-set again and asked DH to take the scales away. I had started weighing every day again and if the numbers were against me I'd have a bad day. So, back to basics, fasting, exercising and sticking to 1100 cals. I have 6 lbs to go to 3 stone and I need to see it soon!!

Nixi4 · 18/08/2020 10:48

@daisyhead08 good approach, I've not weighed for a week now.. partly because I have had a few days off and I don't want to derail the other days. You know exactly how to do this.. it's the sustaining that is the hard part! Chin up, dust yourself down and start going forwards 😁.
