Have you done this? How have you done this?

I'm 5'8" and 19st.
I know I need to eat less and move more.

I have small children and I'm still breastfeeding. Apart from the standard chasing a toddler I'm pretty sedentary. I do all the cooking, not terribly unhealthy food but probably much too much of it.

Help me give myself a kick up my huge arse please!!

Daisy that's an amazing loss, well done!

Nixi4 · 27/07/2020 00:00

Ah @daisyhead08 you had a ta-dah moment! Lucky you! And well done.. super effort and achievement.

@notapizzaeater I'm so sorry to hear about the tough times you are experiencing.. please make sure you are kind to yourself

All the newbies welcome, looking forward to hearing your stories.. all the oldies on this thread keep up the good work! 😁

itistiime · 27/07/2020 00:32

😊

I've just bought myself some green trainers - I've loved them for years but I know they won't suit me when I'm so large (they need me to wear something other than leggings!)

They were on sale so I'm trying to be confident enough to believe that in 12 weeks I might have a BMI of 30 and green trainers on my feet Grin

Zebracat · 27/07/2020 08:34

So I just checked and I would need to lose 2st2lbs to have a BMI of 30. It would be lovely if I achieved that in 12 weeks, but I don’t think it can be my target. I’ve just made the switch back from kilos to stones, because I think I only used kilos to hide the truth from myself, as 102 kilos doesn’t vibrate for me in the same way as 16 stone. That is not a healthy weight for a woman, so my first target is to be under 16 stone and never go back there.
Just gonna have to take this one stone at a time, unless I can find whatever my green trainers might be, I have always wanted a leather jacket....

itistiime · 27/07/2020 08:44

😃 a leather jacket would be amazing

I know what you mean about avoiding thinking about how much 16 stones is. I won't tell my husband how much I weigh, I'm telling him the weight loss but not how heavy I actually am which is silly really, he clearly knows I'm not slim!

Getting a BMI of under 30'is a loss of 3Ibs a week for me (for 12 weeks) I know it's a high goal but I'll do better to overestimate what I could do because if I aim for a pound a week I won't make big enough changes

MutteringDarkly · 27/07/2020 08:44

Hello, would you mind if I joined you?

I've previously lost 5.5 stone and maintained more or less for two years.
Then Covid, shielding child and shielding grandparent (I'm lone parent trying to support both), full time working from home...and I've put 2 stone back on SadSad A few weeks ago started trying to regain control but it's the same few lbs up and down so I clearly need to take a deep breath and properly re-start.

Today's goal: honestly record food. Twenty minutes on exercise bike.

Hope you all have a good day Smile

Shatteredconfidence · 27/07/2020 09:24

Morning, hoping that this week is a good one for everyone!

My goal for today is some exercise, plenty of water, and sensible eating.

Zebracat · 27/07/2020 10:33

Hello muttering darkly. I’m new too, still trying to work out my goals. I know I have to have some or the ohfuckits will creep in, but 3 pounds every week for 12 weeks. I just don’t know. I will try for 2 pounds a week, because I can see myself incorporating more exercise and turning down a glass of wine, but 3 pounds might involve a Herculean effort. So in 12 weeks I would be about 14 1/2 st, still a stone away from overweight.

itistiime · 27/07/2020 11:50

I think my goal is unrealistic but what I know about myself is that if I don't aim too high I'll end up trying for much too low

Fatandnearly50 · 27/07/2020 11:50

Welcome to all the latest newbies Smile

After a very odd week of being unwell but also on holiday, still not back to normal stomach wise and with period overdue (not pg!!) I have weighed in and lost 4lbs this week. I am pleased but not fully sure if it'll stay off when I am feeling back to normal.

It does take my BMI to 40.9 though which is a lot better than the 43.5 I started at and takes me to just over a stone lost so far. It's a long journey but a decent start. So just being obese rather than morbidly obese is in sight Smile, sadly I have just worked out it will be another 30kg before I am only overweight Sad.

Wk 0 - 118.5kg (18st 9lbs)
Wk 1 - 113.5kg (17st 12lbs)
Wk 2 - 113.1kg (17st 11lbs)
Wk 3 - 113.6kg (17st 12lbs)
Wk 4 - 111.5kg (17st 8lbs)

Zebracat · 27/07/2020 12:42

Hope you still got some joy for your holiday ,fatand, it’s rubbish to be ill for it.
I love your determination, itistime! I am trying to lose my previous mindset of lose the weight quick and get back to normal. Eating healthfully and mindfully needs to be my normal, not some sugar filled crap with every sit down, and that’s what I’d got to.

Dinoteam · 27/07/2020 17:51

Can I join? Need some motivation and fast!

Was previously 19 stone. I got down to 13 over a couple of years but two children later plus depression and weight gaining meds I’m back at 18.4. Absolutely mortified with myself Sad

Shatteredconfidence · 27/07/2020 18:21

Trying to resist inhaling biscuits to deal with my anxiety which is through the roof.

It's not easy. Telling myself biscuits won't actually help.

itistiime · 27/07/2020 19:37

Oh I inhale food when I'm anxious too Shattered. Hope you managed to resist but totally get it if you didn't. The problem is that it does really help in the moment

Fatand- oh you are so close to getting down to obese, that's so exciting! Well done 👍🏼

Hi Dino Smile

Zebra - I'm just being overly ambitious (having just eaten crisps after dinner!) but it helps my mindset

Nixi4 · 27/07/2020 20:26

Welcome all the newbies! It's another 2lb down for me! Pleased with the result..

Shatteredconfidence · 27/07/2020 20:30

@itistiime I did resist. I ate some peanuts instead - I tell myself it is better than biscuits because food like biscuits tends to set me off on an insatiable binge that could last for hours. Now I have had the peanuts I don't want anything else.

I am feeling better now, but I agree, in the moment it feels like the most soothing thing in the world.

Shatteredconfidence · 27/07/2020 20:31

Well done @nixi4 , that is fab!!!

IloveBeefJerky · 27/07/2020 20:40

Hey,

Can I join? Currently 17.4 stone. I have lost a stone in the last four weeks by restricting calories to 1200 per day, high protein, low carb.

I have five stone to lose!

daisyhead08 · 27/07/2020 20:46

Well done Nixi another super result! You're so consistent, such a brilliant achievement.

@Fatandnearly50, 4 lbs is fantastic, I think sometimes the BMI changes are nearly more rewarding, as it's very real progress and has such health benefits.

Welcome @Dinoteam and @IloveBeefJerky, this is a lovely supportive thread, I hope you enjoy being here.

I am STARVING. I don't know if it's hormonal or sugar craving. I'm going to have a cup of tea and go to bed. My aim is for 20 ish hr fast tomorrow. If I say it here then I have to stick to it!!

itistiime · 27/07/2020 21:03

Oh it's so good to be on a thread with people who know how I feel! I've never had that before but each post really resonates with me. I binge if I start eating junk food too

I read the thread a few weeks ago about slim people and how often they think about snacking and the replies blew my mind. Honestly I had assumed slim people were wanting to eat all the time too but just had amazing willpower. Turns out they don't even think about food that much! Amazing ....

Sounds like you're doing a great job Nixi Smile

Nixi4 · 27/07/2020 21:22

@daisyhead08 there must be something in the air, I've been bouncing off the walls hungry! Drinking another pint of water then bed for me! Need to increase fasting this week as always feel better when I manage 24hr's..

Fatandnearly50 · 27/07/2020 21:24

Thank you daisy, itis, Smile
Feels odd to be congratulated at nearly being obese Grin

Well done @Nixi4, you are very consistent!

Welcome @IloveBeefJerky
ans @Dinoteam. Like you Dino, I have also lost significant amounts in the past, nearly 5 stone once and 2-3 stone numerous times and ended up heavier than ever Blush. There is no shame in that here, none of us are perfect or we wouldn’t be here.

Have a good week all Smile

Nixi4 · 27/07/2020 21:31

@Fatandnearly50 every pound we loose is a step forward in the choice to be healthier.. my BMI was 40+.. I've now lost 12.5% of my body fat.. still a long way to go until I'm overweight 🤣

Shatteredconfidence · 28/07/2020 08:34

Weighed myself this morning and I appear to have gained 1kg since last week Sad

Hopefully it's because my period is due!

Will keep pushing on anyway.

Nixi4 · 28/07/2020 09:50

@Shatteredconfidence I consistently put weight on, one week every month.. mine is ovulation week but we are all different.. stay on track and then hopefully you will catch up next week.
