Hi, here is the new thread. Without stating the obvious, think that in such difficult times, the emphasis is going to be on staying on an even keel as best we can and supporting each other. I weighed in at 9st0.5 this morning, I'm the first to admit that all I want to eat is carbs at the moment but I'm finding the accountability good. I'm aiming for 8st12.5 this month. Take care all

I think if you can.include them and not go overboard, that's ideal. I wish I could Sad

MonsteraCheeseplant · 16/04/2020 18:32

I know what you mean heygirl. I have been very all or nothing in the past and I don't want to...fail? Be unrealistic? Cause a binge? I dunno. I've tried extreme no sugar before and managed it for 7 months but it was probably inevitable that it wouldn't last forever. This probably won't either. We can but try.

Heygirlheyboy · 16/04/2020 19:27

Seven months is incredible... I would have thought that would end cravings forever?!

Heygirlheyboy · 16/04/2020 19:35

For example now I'm tempted by that stupid chocolate cake in the press but I am going to just get to bedtime tonight and start again tomorrow. One day at a time. Run in morning for me. Off to do some paperwork now so that'll keep me busy till bedtime. It's a real scourge, sugar addiction.

winterisstillcoming · 16/04/2020 19:52

Welcome @sparklyglitterball. I was in a similar situation to you to begin with and I'm using the same approach. MFP has me on 1200 to lose 1lb a week. I usually find it works but I've hit a bit of a wall this past few weeks.

I'm a sugar addict too. I am at high risk of diabetes when I'm older too so need to knock it on the head. I'm getting better though. I Don't have sweeteners in coffee anymore, sweet chilli is too sweet now so my palate is changing but it's taken years. Still could happily scoff a packet of Jaffa cakes no problem.

Another day on track. The scales better move tomorrow.

Anyone got any non food treats planned for keeping on track? I fancy those Spanx leather leggings but I really do need to be on target to pull those off.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 16/04/2020 20:04

Hi all,
Well done to everyone who is managing to stay on track and/or not slash the tires!
I've been a bit mopey today and gone over a fair bit. I was just hungry and fancied wine. I did 10k steps though and was under 2000 calories which is around what I need to maintain.
@winterisstillcoming I'm a bit stumped for non food treats too... Maybe half an hour to myself watching my choice of TV!! I bought a new non stick pan yesterday, bit dismal really. Normally I'd go for a swim, or a day chilling out wandering around London, go for a night out with mates. A swim in the serpentine or Hampstead ponds would be so good right now!
Welcome @sparklyglitterball! How are you finding the Adrienne 30 days thing? Which one are you doing?

MonsteraCheeseplant · 16/04/2020 20:56

Yes, one day at a time. Chocolate will still be there tomorrow (and tomorrow never comes if you can fool yourself enough Grin)

I definitely got used to no sugar but it doesn't take much to fall right back into it again. And I didn't have any sugar. Flavoured yoghurt, ketchup, most ready meals, fruit juice...it's actually unrealistically restrictive I think. And the peer pressure was immense weirdly enough.

Heygirlheyboy · 16/04/2020 23:07

While I was working, husband made apple crumble fgs Hmm However I walked past it, made my ono for tomorrow and logged my day (angel emoji please!) Grin

I was actually 250cals under so prob should have had a snack, I'll fit one in tomorrow. Amazing how many of us have a real issue with leaning on sugar. One day!!

Heygirlheyboy · 16/04/2020 23:27

Hmm... watching Jordan on binge eating.. he advises no cal counting and I'm wondering if he's right for me..

Octopus37 · 17/04/2020 08:13

Wow Heygirl, I'm impressed by your resolve and also by the fact that your DH makes Apple Crumble. Ate for Britain yesterday (hangover, not to myself why I don't drink much), 9st2.5, really aiming to be 8st13. something by the end of April. I can do this. Have just eaten one and a half cereal bars for Breakfast, I'm not even aiming to cut out chocolate cause I think it will be impossible, the aim is just to eat less, she says. Also having a take-away kebab tonight (supporting local businesses) but I have a Chicken Shish which I file under the category of being good

winterisstillcoming · 17/04/2020 10:13

@Octopus37 I've accepted the chocolate too! Just had my daily chocolate protein bar to start my day. It was delicious but I'm feeling the hunger this morning.

I've woken up feeling well rested and energised this morning. Had a zoom with another friend last night but kept off the alcohol after feeling so rough yesterday morning.

So I weighed in at 9st 3.5 so 1.5lb down!!!! Thank goodness! 9st seems so much more achievable now.

I'm off with the kids today so I'm going to try and be active with them.

Have a good morning all

Heygirlheyboy · 17/04/2020 10:36

That's praise indeed from you Octopus Star
You're right if you can eat a bit that's the dream. I'm 9st7 this AM and have my 25min run under my belt
Ono
Omelette with salad
Dinner of some sort and prob hummus and carrot sticks for a snack.
Jordan is interesting on order of food, starting with salad, veg with some fat (e.g olive oil) then or with protein, allowing the starchy carbs but you'll want less and that order will keep you fuller longer as the fat keeps you full longer but the carbs fill you. I officially love him and have followed him on fb! Will get the 10k steps in today, 12 would be great. Happy Friday all!

Octopus37 · 17/04/2020 11:10

Well done Winters and HeyGirl, I'm starving today. As my Grandma would have said ' I could eat two more than a pig and the pig 'n' all' Off for a walk with the dog in a minute, have been very lax with my steps recently, not often managing 10,000 so am going to try and improve that today.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 17/04/2020 11:25

I have never heard that phrase and can't for the life of me understand it! 😄

I'm ravenous too this morning but am filling my stomach up with water until lunch! Have discovered a couple of new exciting low cal ish recipes that I hope to try next week including potato rosti and pizza base made from Greek Yoghurt. Fingers crossed they taste as good as they sound!

sparklyglitterball · 17/04/2020 11:56

I'm also having a hungry day today! I've cut down on carbs the last couple of days and I think it's catching up with me. Been for a run this morning, just 3km. We live in a really hilly area and it's a struggle to get in a good zone with so many hills to run up! I really need to drive somewhere flatter to get a good 5km. @Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket I'm doing the Yoga With Adriene on YouTube, so it's free. Hopefully all the days will be available. I'm really enjoying it, much more so than the running! Glad I'm not alone in my sugar addiction, I'm not in the right headspace to tackle it at the mo with the lockdown etc. Just trying to factor some treats into my daily calories instead.

Heygirlheyboy · 17/04/2020 13:43

Wow winter, well done!

Love potato rosti!

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 17/04/2020 21:51

Hello,
Just checking in. Today I've had
B. Bacon and egg sandwich (470)
L. Quorn mini eggs and salad (400)
D. Chicken shish kebab with salad and quite a few stolen chips (mfp saying about 500 but feels like more)
Weigh in tomorrow. It's been an up and down week so fingers crossed

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 18/04/2020 07:46

Lost just over half a pound. Not too bad. Not sure it's worthy of baking a cake though!
11lbs in total. Feel like my belly is less in the way. Onwards!

sparklyglitterball · 18/04/2020 07:57

@Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket that's great! Slow loss is more sustainable I think. I'm finding it a bit depressing hearing about people baking lovely cakes etc. I'd love to, but know I'll be tempted to eat too much of the results. I'm trying to get motivated to go out for a run now. It's always makes me feel great afterwards and some during 🤣

Heygirlheyboy · 18/04/2020 08:15

Enjoy run sparkly and well done igglepiggle. I'm up again to 9st8 but as I didn't eat 3500 cals since yesterday I'm not worried Grin

MonsteraCheeseplant · 18/04/2020 08:29

I'm 2lbs down! 11 stone flat! That's 7lbs since the 21st of March. That is so satisfying.

Heygirlheyboy · 18/04/2020 09:08

Brilliant Monster! Star

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 18/04/2020 09:16

Thats brill @MonsteraCheeseplant!
You'll be down again tomorrow @heygirl

Heygirlheyboy · 18/04/2020 09:22

Thanks igglepiggle, I can't be too far off my period so that will cause fluctuations again. At least I'm being accountable and I'm more than happy with how the last five days have gone, all around 1300 so that's absolutely fine considering 10k steps etc. Better start the daily surface scrub!

Octopus37 · 18/04/2020 10:25

Wow Monster, that's amazing 7 pounds and Iggle 11 pounds down is amazing. I'm a pound down this morning, did okish yesterday apart from eating some Easter egg. HeyGirl, yes it will be one of those fluctuations, you will be down again.
