Hi, here is the new thread. Without stating the obvious, think that in such difficult times, the emphasis is going to be on staying on an even keel as best we can and supporting each other. I weighed in at 9st0.5 this morning, I'm the first to admit that all I want to eat is carbs at the moment but I'm finding the accountability good. I'm aiming for 8st12.5 this month. Take care all

71.2kg today, that's another 0.5kg down :)

Heygirlheyboy · 04/04/2020 11:24

Well done porpoises! Octopus, you're holding your own that's enough! I ran for 4k or so this morning, ono in fridge for three days and I'm going to start tracking again. Will weigh Monday. I'm not going to go mad cal counting but if I keep up exercise and eat three good meals I feel I'll be getting slowly back to where I was.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 04/04/2020 19:42

Well done porpoises!
I've stuck to my calories today
B. Bacon & beans, 1 slice of toast
L. Stir fried book choi & two chicken skewers
D. Leftover Bolognese on a jacket with cheese & 1 cup halo ice cream
S. Apple

Octopus37 · 05/04/2020 09:08

HeygirlBoy I'm impressed with your running have always found running really difficult. Iggle that all sounds very healthy. Had a better day yesterday, 9st1 just need to keep consistently having better days as I really want to be in the 8s by the end of the month.

Heygirlheyboy · 05/04/2020 10:17

I used the couch to 5k app, via nhs website, it's fantastic. I've started back at 20 mins as have done it before but you start at just one min running and build it up. Aiming for 25 mins this week and then up to the 30min/5k target week after. Feels good.

TheHoundsofLove · 05/04/2020 12:08

Yes - C25K is brilliant! I did it a couple of years ago and am now pretty addicted to running - it's the best stress relief going and I see so much wildlife on my travels. I did 14km along the river this morning.
Octopus I also want to see the 8s by the end of the month!

winterisstillcoming · 05/04/2020 12:14

Yes I need to run more. I've been out on a couple and I've found it difficult. I'm currently doing a combo of running/walking which I'm really enjoying. I've done C25K, it's good. For me it's breaking through that ' I can't do it any more feeling and once I'm past that I feel that I can go forever. Not got there yet.

My step count is down big time so might take the DCs out for a walk later. It's quiet around us with lots of open space where we can all avoid each other.

Eating wise I'm somewhere between 1200 and TDEE so trying to pull it back today.

Heygirlheyboy · 05/04/2020 12:51

Wow hounds, well done. I also run along a river but wouldn't have that distance so I double back. I find the first five mins tough and then I get in my stride. When it's tough I tell myself that's when I'm building fitness, I breathe and work arms more and legs less if I need to to just keep going and try and push myself for the last minute. Raining here but will get a walk of some sort in and run again in AM.

Ono, delicious
Homemade brown soda with roast chicken, mayo and salad
Eggs of some kind probably later.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 05/04/2020 21:38

Hello! Well done on the running! I'm more of a long walks, swimming and yoga person myself, managed a yoga video and s decent walk today and stuck to my calories, but it's been hard. I'm really craving all my comfort foods and wanting to drink. Today's food:
B. Bacon, beans 1slice toast
L. 5mini Quorn eggs salad & hummus
D. Lamb burger, corn on the cob, strawberries
S. Apple, coffee, tea, diet 7up
Total 1560

EndlessUserName · 05/04/2020 21:40

Hello all! Just placemarking, will weigh in tomorrow and see where I'm at and catch up on the thread then too, hope you're all ok

EndlessUserName · 06/04/2020 09:27

Oh bollocks. 10 stone this morning. Almost back to where I started in Jan! Ate loads this weekend so hoping some of it is just literal food in my body! Still not sure if I have the headspace for this but will try to eat more nutritious food anyway and see what happens

winterisstillcoming · 06/04/2020 09:51

Hi all! I've had a disappointing few days too. Topped off last night with an embarrassingly massive cheeseboard.

Let's put this weekend behind us and crack on!

So the line is drawn again.

Fitbit on, aiming for at least 10k today.

Keep pushing on all.

Octopus37 · 06/04/2020 10:13

I managed a long dog walk yesterday. Yesterdays food:
Cereal bar
Cake
1 oat cake
Spinach & Ricotta Tesco pizza
ice lolly
Not that healthy but about the best I can do at the moment. 9st0.25 this morning so quite pleased with that.

Heygirlheyboy · 06/04/2020 11:17

Well done octopus.

Great to see you dontfundhate. We've both got ourselves in a fix! I've my run done. I forgot to weigh after getting up but I will tomorrow. I am going to just keep weighing, keep moving and keep trying each day.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 06/04/2020 14:19

My lovely DH bought me bloody chocolate hazelnut croissants yesterday. How do you politely, graciously, tell them that this is not possible to fit into your calorie quota??

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 06/04/2020 14:58

Everyone I feel your pain!!! Think about the total that you've lost rather than the weekly amount so you don't get despondant.

I've had two days of being 'good', and really trying to keep it up. Reading the news (and most of Mumsnet) has been freaking me out that I might not be allowed out for a walk soon, hopefully this is over egged. I'm trying to put it out of my mind and just get on with stuff day to day.
Today's food:
B. Two slices of toast with peanut butter and a banana plus coffee (450)
L. Salad with avocado and a bit of cheese and salami (400)
D. Chicken tikka masala (700)
I'm also supposed to be having work zoom drinks, but might just have diet 7up in the interests of not blowing it.

WellErrr · 06/04/2020 15:22

Hi stop!

I keep having a couple of good days, then a couple of bad. I’m hovering around 8st9/10/11 which was my original target, and I know it’s fine, but I keep thinking I’m enormous and huge. Which I know is silly.
Sometimes I think I’m in danger of getting a bit obsessed, so I try to step away from my calorie counting app. But then I end up binging! There doesn’t seem to be any happy medium.

Hmmmm.

Heygirlheyboy · 06/04/2020 16:57

That's exactly what happened to me, it was getting a bit diet-y and then Bam! Back to the binge. That's why trying a slightly different tack now.
Ono
Omlette with avocado and tomatoes with salad band bean mix
Mac and cheese
Snack: peanut butter on wholewheat crackers
10k plus steps inc 20min run.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 06/04/2020 18:41

Hi @WellErrr, it's highly unlikely that you are massive at under nine stone! I bet you look lovely. If it makes you feel better, my aim is to be under 12 stone four, which will put me just into a healthy BMI for my height (I'm quite tall and robust, which I like, but I'm overweight at the moment and want to slim down so I don't feel sluggish, and also to get rid of my double chin). Maybe it would be good for you to focus on strength or reducing stress rather than calories/ number on the scales if you feel like you're getting a bit obsessed. These are crazy times and if you have an underlying problem they could be triggering (this is me projecting a bit, as obvs I don't know your circumstances - I'm fighting against a return to panic attacks and depression a bit here)
Hi @Heygirlheyboy, ommlette sounds lovely!

EndlessUserName · 06/04/2020 18:52

@WellErrr try watching / rewatching some of Jordan's videos? He has a few on stopping calorie counting , but I agree it's bloody hard! (And I haven't managed it!!)

EndlessUserName · 06/04/2020 18:55

@Heygirlheyboy oh no sorry we're in the same boat! What's your new plan?

I don't think I have the headspace for weight loss, some of you may remember how stressed I've been for a few months anyway and now it's even worse with current situation!

My plan is

Portion control - B, L and D
Try to get my 5 a day
2 snacks - 1 fruit and 1 naughtier
No snacking after dinner!!!

And that's it. Sounds simple enough right!

Porpoises · 06/04/2020 21:28

Felt pretty down today, think I need to stop arguing with people on Facebook! Hate the amount of shaming and blaming that is going on, from people online and from the government (who imo are far from blameless themselves), makes me feel unconfortable about going out for fresh air and exercise, even though it's allowed.

Wish I could hang out in real life with friends.

Anyway, managed a shortish run this evening, and ate mostly healthy food today, fish for dinner was nice. Repotted the broccoli seedlings.

New goal - limit general online time and plan activities that are better for my mental health.

Porpoises · 06/04/2020 21:32

Stopfundinghate it's great you're back :) You can only prioritise so many things at once, if you need to stop the weightloss for a while that totally makes sense. A lot of us are doing maintenance or general health goals right now anyway, hopefully we can support each other through this horrible time.

EndlessUserName · 06/04/2020 21:45

Thank you @Porpoises

I really need to limit time online too, I'm living online at the moment and it's horrible

MonsteraCheeseplant · 06/04/2020 21:49

Hey, I kept within 1200 today including a bit of lovely flapjack.
I tried a new recipe, chicken with parmesan dumplings. The dumplings are good but the chicken sauce is a bit lame which is disappointing because I made chicken stock from the bones. It's just chicken stock, mushrooms, carrot and a couple of tbsp of double cream. What would you put in it to make it tastier? Any ideas?
