Aiding Affirming April

Hi, here is the new thread. Without stating the obvious, think that in such difficult times, the emphasis is going to be on staying on an even keel as best we can and supporting each other. I weighed in at 9st0.5 this morning, I'm the first to admit that all I want to eat is carbs at the moment but I'm finding the accountability good. I'm aiming for 8st12.5 this month. Take care all

Have just worked out my calories today, haven't done that properly for ages and they have come to 1700, I suppose that's about maintenance calories. Also went for walk but only just over 6000 steps, although obviously I've been moving quite a lot in the house, don't have a fit bit, just a step counter on my phone. Need to get my motivation back.

Well I've just calculated my calorie total and have barely 300 left to burn. And burn it I will...

Gotta say, I LOVED pizzas made from Greek Yoghurt and flour! First time I tried it and couldn't believe it worked! Came in at just under 500 calls cals topped with plenty of cheese and other yummy things.

Monstera I made flatbreads this week from a recipe just using flour, greek yoghurt and baking powder - I was also sceptical but they were absolutely lovely and very light.

I have excess Greek Yoghurt after I had to buy the zero day stuff when people panic bought all the regular kind. Zero fat yoghurt just isn't worth the tiny amount of calories. So I also made brownies last night. Sadly they are the cakey kind rather than fudgy but 100 cals a slice and very chocolatey.

Greek yoghurt brownies that is. Everything Greek yoghurt! Grin

Disappointingly I have stayed the same this week. I may talk of brownies and what not but I have stayed under 1300 cals all week. Still, I won't be discouraged yet after 3 straight weeks of loss.

I didn't drink as much water as I usually do yesterday, I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

Fingers crossed I can start May breaking into the 10 stone zone.
Hounds what did you have with the flatbreads?

The flour and greek yoghurt pizza bases sound great, will have to look them up 9st0.75 today. Just eaten two oatcakes

Ah that's disappointing @moster could well be random fluctuations though.
I've put on nearly 2lbs this week. It's not massively surprising as I've had a full on binge the past two days and have my period as well but 😭.
Total loss is still nearly 10lbs. Think I need to get back to a bit more planning ahead, I have a very crunchy deadline this Monday and I've been focusing hard on that and not managing to plan food well.

Hi everyone, not checked in for a while. Funny that you lot are also eating flatbreads, I discovered them recently to avoid going to the shops for bread so often! They are so tasty and not too difficult.

Weight loss is going well, without me particularly depriving myself - I feel lucky. I think a lot of my problems were due to the food environment outside the house - tea and cake, office "treats" Hmm, rushed meal prep after a long commute. I'm really enjoying cooking in lockdown.

Need to get back on the exercise brigade, I'm worried I'm not doing as much of that as I ought to, a lot of the ways I usually exercise are not possible right now, and it's slightly stressful being out for long with the lockdown rules. There are still obviously loads of things I could do though!

Flowers Winter that's a lovely thoughtful post. Sorry for your losses.

Iggle I sympathise with your binge. I crave lots of unhealthy food right now.

Thank you for the kind words @Porpoises, and the flatbread recipes. Takes me back to my hols. I have some frozen chicken kebabs in the freezer so this is only going to go one way! Mmmmmm. I'm also making the most of the opportunity of
not eating out and grabbing quick unhealthy dinners.

@Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket, you can't do everything all at once, you know what to do when you have the headspace. 10lb loss is amazing and it's all about the big picture.

@monstera, I feel your frustration. I hope you see a shift soon. I think you might be giving a me an obsession with Greek yogurt!

I've realised that the iron supplements are slowing me down and made me bloated so I've had fennel tea, increased the water and got a green smoothie planned.

@octopus, you probably are hitting 10k steps with walks like that.

Monstera I made them to go with a spanish butter bean and sausage casserole that I ‘found’ in the freezer.
It’s my rest day today, but a morning dog walk and then the rest of the day gardening has got me to 12,000 steps so far today. I live in a big asparagus growing area, so we’ve got that for dinner (I coat it in panko breadcrumbs and parmesan, drizzle with olive oil and then bake it) with salmon and hollandaise sauce.

Getting back on, down to 10st12 from 12st8. Feel if I can just budge 4lbs over the next few weeks it will give me motivation for the last stone.

I’m running 6 miles daily to make up for the absolute crap I’m eating so need to get back on eating less as you can’t out run a bad diet forever.

@Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket I can relate to having the odd binge day! Especially if hungover. @MonsteraCheeseplant I'm the same........nearly two weeks of my fitness pal and lots of exercise, and not lost any weight yet. I'm feeling a bit slimmer so hoping it'll show on the scales soon. Those flatbreads sound lovely, think I'll give them a try with the dc next week as part of home economics?! We had homemade pizza last night using our pizza oven. It was sooo good. Tried to factor in all the calories correctly and was careful throughout the day etc.

@TheHoundsofLove I love asparagus! Your way of cooking it sounds divine.

I'm another asparagus fan. Also made a home made pizza last night from that Miguel £1 meals book, it wasn't too difficult although I would probably add some bits next time. Weighed 9st0.5 this morning.

God Sparkly 2 weeks of no movement. That is so frustrating! I sincerely hope it moves for you soon otherwise life just isn't fair! I did half hour of rowing this morning plus a couple of hours of gardening and have done a bit of skipping some other days. Not the most intense exercise generally but still an improvement on usual for me.

I just had the most divine lunch of prawns, mushrooms and chorizo with a boat load of garlic and herbs. I really do recommend tubes of garlic puree and pre chopped frozen garlic from Waitrose. Total game changer.

Sad news regarding my Greek yoghurt brownies. My road had a socially distanced street party for a neighbors teens birthday and they ate them all. Now I have none. While it is probably for the best I mourn the premature loss of my brownies and must fight the urge to make carrot cake which even with Greek yoghurt is hard to make even remotely healthy.

Wow Monsteria that sounds like loads of exercise, I'm impressed. Just about to do Joe Wickes, even though I still ache from Friday. Lou, I'm also in awe of you being able to run 6 miles, I cannot even run one, have always found running nearly difficult. Cannot believe we are nearly at the end of April, although its been ground hog month. Weighed 9st dead on this morning, but have a scheduled pub night today, so we'll see, I'm thinking gin and diet lemonade for damage limitation
