Hi, here is the new thread. Without stating the obvious, think that in such difficult times, the emphasis is going to be on staying on an even keel as best we can and supporting each other. I weighed in at 9st0.5 this morning, I'm the first to admit that all I want to eat is carbs at the moment but I'm finding the accountability good. I'm aiming for 8st12.5 this month. Take care all

Amazing losses @MonsteraCheeseplant and @Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket.

I've been food shopping and the supermarket had my bento box in so I had to have it. Just savoured every mouthful for lunch. It does mean I need to be careful all day now though.

I think I am a bit anaemic as this period is really heavy. It happens every now and then and I end up feeling washed out. I've got big dark circles around my eyes and my skin's paler so I've cracked open a bottle of iron and resting up today. I'm not going to push the steps too much this weekend either.

Hope you're all having a good day

winterisstillcoming · 18/04/2020 14:15

And well done @Octopus37 too!

Octopus37 · 18/04/2020 14:19

Winters make sure you take it easy, I have had similar problems in the past. Sounds like some chocolate and red meat is in order

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 18/04/2020 19:07

Thanks @Octopus37! It sounds better when you say the while thing and not just the weekly half pound!

@winterisstillcoming hope you are feeling better soon. Periods are shit. Sounds like you deserve a steak or a nice spinach and cheese ommlette and some fresh orange. Those plus a bit of dark choc are what I have to look after myself when I'm on the blob and feeling pasty. None are too bad for calories either.

Today's food
B. Porridge, raspberries, almonds, coffee (250)
L. Home made spiced apple fruit cake, loads of tea, a tiny bit of OH's chicken satay stuff (400)
D. Lower cal fried chicken, big pile of cabbage with butter, corn on the cob with peri peri salt (400)
S. Another bit of cake and an orange (250)

I'm quite full now but might have a banana or something if I get hungry later. I'll save the rest of the cake to share with the kids tomorrow (hopefully not a lie!)

sparklyglitterball · 18/04/2020 21:16

Well done on all the losses everyone, very inspiring: @Heygirlheyboy thanks, had a good run today. Followed by a bonus yoga session when I got home and the dc were playing and distracted. I've had a pretty good day food wise, had a square of dark chocolate as was really craving Easter eggs! It did seem to help. Having Thai red curry now which is a bit of a treat, but homemade so at least I can count in the calories.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 18/04/2020 22:06

Ok. It feels like a confession but I did plan my meals today. Je ne regret rien!
B: honey on toast plus the paltry remains of the Orange Juice carton (185)
L: Spaghetti prawns and pesto (265)
D: Fish and chips (~800)
Loads of water and a cup of mint tea to drink.

I am bloated as hell now though!

Heygirlheyboy · 19/04/2020 08:35

That allsounds delicious Monster!
9st 9 for me..
Two weetabix
Broccoli, feta, salad leaves, tomatoes
Dinner undecided
Homemade oat cookie (made with.banana and peanut butter) and nuts
First 28 min run Shock

Octopus37 · 19/04/2020 09:28

Monster, your food sounds yum. Not too bad yesterday, managed to get my 10,000 steps which I haven't done that often recently.I did eat some crisps which weren't part of the plan, 9st0.5 this morning. Winter hope you are feeing better, periods do suck. Just had a cereal bar for breakfast, aiming to have a better day today.

Heygirlheyboy · 19/04/2020 10:12

Well done octopus! Feels great to get the ten in!

winterisstillcoming · 19/04/2020 10:20

Well done on the 10k steps and the STS.

Thank you all for the best wishes. I don't eat red meat at home so might have to plan some in. Has fish cakes on a spinach salad yesterday and might make some kale crisps later.

Still wiped out but I'm pacing myself. I don't want to fall in that downward spiral of sitting around then feeling bleurgh. I slept really well last night but still tired.

@sparklyglitterball well done you're in the zone!

We are all doing so well despite the circumstances. Have a lovely day.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 19/04/2020 10:20

Morning all!
Well done on the run &yoga @sparklyglitterball.
@MonsteraCheeseplant I approve of that menu!!! It's well worth planning in treats and stuff you love. It's that sort of thing that makes life worthwhile 😁
I'm aiming for a good day today, I had one G&T last night at a zoom party and half a piece of cake which brought me up to around 1500 Cal's.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 19/04/2020 10:21

Oops that emoji was meant to be smiley!Smile

Heygirlheyboy · 19/04/2020 12:21

I changed my lunch to two egg omlette with feta and tomatoes and a massive heap of salad. I followed it with a small slice of soda bread, as per Jordan's recommendation to finish with a carb to fill up. Roast chicken dinner later. Did my first 28min run earlier and flew it, one of those good days Smile

Heygirlheyboy · 19/04/2020 14:10

I'm posting to say I've just managed to come back from the brink of a tyre slash. Planned binge became planned bar of choc, became ten almonds and an apple. Phew!

MonsteraCheeseplant · 19/04/2020 14:17

Haha I'm glad I didn't get told off!
When this lock down is over I'll be first in line at my local Indian restaurant take away too. I love a weekend treat. If there is any bonus at all to this virus though, I am learning that it doesn't have to be every weekend.

I've gotta say, keeping a bag of raw prawns in the freezer is a godsend because they're low cal, defrost in minutes in cold water and dry frying them with garlic and adding them to spaghetti with pesto is absolutely gorgeous. And guilt free.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 19/04/2020 14:18

Wow heygirl, how did you pull yourself back from the edge like that?! That's very impressive!

Heygirlheyboy · 19/04/2020 16:54

I thought of theyou effort I'm putting in with the exercise and decided a decent snack would help, I was genuinely hungry, probably because it's run day. That small snack has sent me over but I do wonder about the 1200 intake anyway so I'm OK with that. Looking forward to a nice roast chicken dinner now. Logged for the day.

Heygirlheyboy · 19/04/2020 17:09

I had a quote of Jordan's in my head, he refers to someone saying 'I was so good all week and then I ruined it on Friday.' HisI reply is 'No you ruined it Monday when you decided to be too strict all week'. Love that.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 19/04/2020 17:40

So nice to hear about good days @heygirl 😃
Today I'm going to go over my calories, I'm having an in the house date night with wine and stuff. Just feel like a day off. Will probably go to about 2000 calories in all. Back on it tomorrow

Octopus37 · 20/04/2020 07:45

Hope you enjoyed your date night Iggle. Back to homeschooling for me today, luckily they have stuff sent home from school. Really need to try and not make it a battle of wills. 9st1.5 this morning, will do better this week.

OP posts:
Heygirlheyboy · 20/04/2020 09:11

9 st 8.5 here, compared 9 st 10.25 last Mon. Horrified really at the damage I did. But hopefully I'll keep up good habits. Best of luck octopus, we're moving slowly here, sent him to get his pencil case ten minutes ago!

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 20/04/2020 11:34

Morning both! I'm homeschooling/ benevolent neglecting/ full time wfhing again today too. Getting the little one to make a sign for the 'cafe' which is what we're calling our kitchen these days. I ate a lot of pizza last night! But on the plus side wasn't hungry this morning so just had coffee

winterisstillcoming · 20/04/2020 12:45

Good morning!

Back to home school for us too! Well at least it's a distraction. I've got a bit more energy today and I slept really well.

Well done @Heygirlheyboy on the shift on the scales.

@Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket date night pizza is the best!

So we have our anniversary, one of the Childrens' birthdays and my birthday over the next few weeks so we are planning some epic meals. I'm looking into local restaurants that deliver. I ordered an afternoon tea for Mother's Day so that may be an option too. Can't wait to loosen the reins a bit.

@octopus I've really relaxed the homeschooling rules and we are getting along much better. Just do it when you and them are in the right frame of mind.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 20/04/2020 16:59

Hey everyone, good to hear of your progress.
I am loving McVitie's digestive thins. Perfect for a chocolate munchy craving and only 31 cals. Perfect!

Anyone got any favourite low cal lunch or dinner recipes that you use time and time again? Is anyone is interested in sharing?

MonsteraCheeseplant · 20/04/2020 17:00

(From the timing of my post you can see my 4pm munch habit hasn't waned yet!)
