Hi, here is the new thread. Without stating the obvious, think that in such difficult times, the emphasis is going to be on staying on an even keel as best we can and supporting each other. I weighed in at 9st0.5 this morning, I'm the first to admit that all I want to eat is carbs at the moment but I'm finding the accountability good. I'm aiming for 8st12.5 this month. Take care all

I have started reading more since lockdown... would that be an option? Snack wise I love raw veg and hummus, peanut butter and raw veg or fruit and Greek yoghurt. I've kept things going today thank God and will log after dinner. Lots of outdoor time helps.

I've had hummus and crudités at 4:30 too!
A cup of tea or coffee can keep me going, as does a later lunch -2pm for me. I like to get my hunger over with at the beginning of the day when I have more resolve.

Maybe just factor a little something at tea time if you are naturally hungry at that time.

If it's boredom then maybe get a task done. Declutter a drawer, phone a friend for some distraction. I'm keeping my hands out of the cookie jar by going upstairs and doing something beautifying. Plenty needs doing In that department here!

@MonsteraCheeseplant you can tell you're doing really well as you're fine tuning.

Afternoon all,
I get you with the afternoon munchies, if I'm working a coffee can work as it perks me up and I can go back to a task. Other than that, can you schedule your outdoor exercise for that time, something to look forward to? As winter and hey said, there's nothing wrong with just having a healthy snack too if you're hungry.
I've done ok today. Deliberately saving calories so I can have a great after the kids are in bed.
B. Porridge, raspberries & almonds plus 2 coffees (250)
L. Chicken breast, big pile of buttery lemony spinach, & homemade banana 'ice cream' (350)
D. Sausage chips and beans (600)
S. Orange mini twister (100)
Total 1300 and I will have about another 200 of halo ice cream later.

winter Thank you for the encouragement Smile. I'm in week 4 so I feel it's easy to be doing well so early on...

I know i'm not hungry, just bored! Good idea about calling someone. i can usually count on my sister to doss around engage with me at that time of day Grin.

I agree if you're naturally hungry at a particular time, it makes it easier to schedule a snack in. I have always absolutely struggled to go from lunch to dinner with nothing in between. Boredom doesn't help at the moment, neither do Easter egg sales said she who bough a Smarties Incredible egg yesterday. 9st0.5 this morning

9st7.5 this morning, that's nearly 3lbs in 48h, I think I need a link for those jordan videos to prepare for the inevitable fluctuations. Can't remember his surname.

25min run done
Ono
Scrambled eggs or similar
Dinner undecided

Anyone heard of James Smith 'not a diet book'? Thought it looked great but he's a real idiot on Instagram! Imo...!

I've never heard of Jordan Syatt. We're just watching the 30 day Big Mac challenge. Interesting. Any particular vids you recommend?

Well done @Heygirlheyboy! Even if there is a bit of fluctuation you're on the downward trend.
I've had an extremely unproductive day today and spent an inordinate amount of time thinking about cake. If I've lost weight on Saturday I'm gonna do a bit of baking. So far I'm just slightly over calories.
B. Porridge, raspberries, almonds, coffee (250)
L. Fried egg on toast, spinach, avocado (400)
D. 2 tacos halo top ice cream (650)
S. Orange, crisp bread, artichoke dip (200)

Hope you lot are all doing well x

Sounds lovely. I'm missing my Friday Chinese! It's definitely nice to have something to look forward to!

Hi all! Looks like we are on track!

Yesterday was a near miss on both counts. 9k steps, 100 cals over but not a disaster by any means.

I'm hoping to punch through 9st 5 this week. I've stopped weighing myself daily as I'm sick of seeing the same number. It's demoralising

My period is 4 days late as well so dunno what's happening there. The kids have been a nightmare, they had to go to school today and they didn't like it as it's not what they're used to and they had to be nice to each other all day.

I've got a 138 calories burning a hole in my pocket. Due a natter with a friend in a few minutes so might have a drink of something......

Report
Heygirlheyboy · 15/04/2020 21:29

Ah crap, you've reminded me winter that my period must be coming soon too. You sound like you're doing very well.

Does anyone manage to get 10k steps on a normal day without extra exercise?!

Report
MonsteraCheeseplant · 15/04/2020 21:37

I've spent a disproportionate amount of time thinking about cake today too. Spent too long calculating how many calories there would be in carrot cake.

Has anyone got used to using Stevia or some other fake sugar for baking?

Report
Heygirlheyboy · 15/04/2020 21:54

You know what I have done hugely reduced the sugar in a recipe.. works but for me now I can't or I'll fall off the cliff and slasn the tyres again!

Report
Octopus37 · 16/04/2020 08:14

Well done everyone. I slashed my tyres yesterday on my virtual pub trip with my friend. Had eaten loads of chocolate yesterday and ate lots of crackers, crisps etc with 3 cans of Strongbow. Funnily enough I'm a bit hungover today and weigh 9st2 also on a heavy period. Have eaten a cereal bar and some Easter egg for my breakfast, not ideal I know but that way I will feel ok. Was worth it though cause I had a good laugh which I haven't had in ages (same for many of us I know) and I know I wont want to drink anything now for quite a while lol

Love your attitude Octopus and sounds like a great night! I am 'up' to 9st 8 this morning, half pound increased despite 16k steps and keeping to cal budget so I'll take it on the chin and keep going.
Ono
Ratatouille and salad
Chilli
Should get in a shorter walk today.

Morning!

@Octopus37 sounds like a lovely evening. You've fed your soul and spirit, which actually is the most important thing.

I have woken with a hangover (1 glass of wine?!) and my period but had a proper laugh with a friend. Can't seem to get going this morning though.

I'm hitting 8-9k steps without going out by doing housework, and keeping one child upstairs and one downstairs in the mornings while they are learning.
I've not eased it during the school holidays as we have a good little routine going and the day flies by.

Hi, can I join please Smile I'm looking to lose 4kg to get me from bmi 26 down to 24. I'm a size 12, and to be honest I'm happy enough with that, but definitely feeling a bit chubby in some of my summer clothes. I'm doing my fitness pal, I have a Fitbit and I'm doing 30 yoga with Adriene and some running. Would be great to have some support and accountability with this thread!

Thanks monstera! I feel the same as many others on the thread about relaxing with chocolate/sweet treats. I've had an evening ritual of getting the dc to bed and having something sweet for years. I don't feel the need to break that habit, but I'm trying to avoid the tendency to pick at sweet stuff during the day now we're all spending so much time at home. Nibbling on bits of Easter egg is far to easy 🙈

Report
MonsteraCheeseplant · 16/04/2020 16:52

Yeah, i definitely feel like i'm cheating but i've been looking around for sweet treats. Like McVities chocolate digestive thins at 30 cals a piece. The Hobnobs couldn't stay at 90 cals each sadly.
