I'm starting CD on Tues. My main worry is how my body will adapt after being on a vlcd? Anyone due to start soon or have any experience of maintaining their weight loss on CD

Btw did someone recommend the bio oil? I might get some

OP posts:
mahonia7 · 11/09/2007 23:29

Hi

I cannot remember what website I saw it on but women on LL and CD seemed to be using bio oil to stop stretch marks. I think this is because the weight loss is so rapid.

Best

M

hattiejacques · 11/09/2007 23:36

I didn't know that. I did read that drinking the huge amounts of water also helps

OP posts:
BoleynGirl · 12/09/2007 10:25

Well done to everyone for their weight losses! Very encouraging for the non weigher amongst you!

Drinking loads of water and hoping it will help. I think my stomach is lost cause for stretch marks anyway so don't think bio oil could even help!

Well I saw the consellor and have got a one week supply but haven't actually started yet. I have however cut down dramatically except for the coffee. I am not sure I can forego that.

You've done so well. At wht point do you change to 790? Can you stay on SS until you get to target?

OP posts:
notquitesobigfatmummy · 12/09/2007 21:40

Hi

As far as I know they recommend that you starting 790 when you are at BMI plus one stone, so about where I am now anyway. And of course, you have your AAM weeks every 4 or 5 weeks while you're on the diet.

notquitesobigfatmummy · 12/09/2007 21:42

Sorry, meant to say as well that you can do 790 whenever you want during the diet. Apparantly the weight loss is not a lot less than if you SS - and you get to have a meal as well as your 3 shakes etc.

notquitesobigfatmummy · 13/09/2007 11:12

Hi everyone - re-posted message!

Sorry haven't posted for a while but lifes been a bit manic!

Had a quick look through the messages and it looks as though everyone is doing really well, well done and keep going - you'll feel fab soon and the rapid weight loss is SO rewarding.

My update is that I got weighed this week (first time in 3 weeks) and had lost another 4lbs - brings my total to 6st 9lbs (inc 7lbs lost with WW before). I'm now in a size 12 and am very excited. I'm still about 1/2 stone away from my target but feel I've had enough of SS! It would've been great to have got to target before I started maintenance but I'm really worried that as I've been doing this since March that I'll go a bit mad with food if I don't "restart" eating again properly. So... after accepting the fact that I'll have to finish the diet with maintenance and it may take a little longer, I've today started 790 - I never thought I'd be so excited about eating and having a proper size meal with my kids!!! But to be honest, I'd been getting really ratty around food again lately (like I did when I started this diet) and think my body was saying enough is enough with the SS!

I'll try and work out how to post photos on here so you can see the difference!

Good luck everyone!

hattiejacques · 13/09/2007 18:07

It's a bit confusing because BMI + a stone could be anything between 21 - 25 + a stone. In my case my target is in the middle of the BMI healthy range so does that mean I would start 790 when I'm A stone from my target or a stone from a BMI of 25? Sorry if I sound thick!

OP posts:
notquitesobigfatmummy · 13/09/2007 19:08

You don't sound thick at all - you basically find it as confusing as me!!! I would check with your councillor. To be honest, mine never said anything about it (but she doesn't say a lot about anything at all to be fair. I read it on the minimins forum, and as it happens my target weight is actually at bmi 25 so that was quite handy. The weight loss on 790 is very similar to SS - I think on 790 you average 12lbs a month - and you may feel ready for it at some point anyway. How much more have you got to lose?

hattiejacques · 13/09/2007 20:20

Another 2 1/2 stone. I will ask my cdc. I do think that the literature isn't that clear. Glad it's not just me!

OP posts:
hattiejacques · 13/09/2007 20:22

Boleyn. How are you getting on? Did it go ok with your cdc?

OP posts:
BoleynGirl · 14/09/2007 17:44

Everything is still going well here. My counsellor is nice and I got my 4 week supply last night. I also got weighed and was about a stone under what I thought I was and since it's unlikely I lost all that last week, I was happy.

So I'm at 14st4 now and ideally would be happy at 10st. I'm tall so that isn't as big as it sounds. So maybe by January if I keep at it.

It's hard though and I've got a social weekend ahead and can see that I'll be avoiding drinking all the time.

hattiejacques · 14/09/2007 18:00

That's great news for you. I expect you've lost quite a bit of that stone since you started cd. I have to admit I'm struggling a bit. I've stuck to the diet but only just. I've been hungry for the past couple of days and feeling really tired. My time of month might have something to do with it but it's the first time I've REALLY wanted to eat.

OP posts:
BoleynGirl · 14/09/2007 18:10

Be strong!! Though if you do fall off for a day, I wouldn't beat yourself up over it like I did. I got back on it quite easily. It's hard though, isn't it? I was making porridge for the dds this morning and never has porridge seemed so appealing!

I also bought some scales today because I couldn't cope with not seeing a difference. I'm weak! I've put them out of the sight of the dds because I don't want them obsessing over their weight.

hattiejacques · 14/09/2007 18:20

I'm trying. Honestly. Just having a tough couple of days.

OP posts:
BoleynGirl · 14/09/2007 18:30

I have found myself going to bed early at night just to stop thinking about it.

That's bad!

hattiejacques · 14/09/2007 18:51

Me too! At least it's not forever. I'm missing my wine but have surprised myself at being able to have coffee out with friends and be able to stick to black coffee - no snacks. And cooking for the kids has been tolerable until yesterday. I made dh do their dinner tonight.

Hello everyone..I have just started today. I am feeling very positive after reading your posts and think its nice that you have this thread link for support & encouragement.
Look forward to reading the updates.

BoleynGirl · 15/09/2007 21:07

It was my dd's birthday today so I did have a piece of cake. I am a sinner but you know what? It would have upsetted her if I hadn't shared in it and I'm already back on it so I don't feel overly guilty about it. I avoided the post party glass of wine which is way more of a temptation!

I am feeling really headachey today, too. I hate it.

loosingit · 16/09/2007 02:15

Hi everyone - i'm a newbie to this forum.
I am going to see my cdc tomorrow for the first time and am excited cause i've been waiting for this for weeks.
I am currently 20st and have been since having my 1st child in 2001. Previous to this in 1997 I lost weight through another programme at a private clinic using inomin, a drug that stops you feeling hungry. This worked and I lost over 60lbs in just over 3 months and I have to say, the weight did stay off until I got pregnant. I would have gone back on this but as it is now banned in this country, I thought i'd take another route and this seems to be the best.
I have read all the posts and everyone is doing really well. My personal goal is 13st cause i'm 6ft and don't want to look too thin for my frame. Let's hope I don't get too hungry !!!lol
Cheers - Fiona

Well I have got through the first 24 hours.Had the most terrible sleep last night, I am buzzing to the point of being euphoric which is a very odd sensation.I am hoping this will settle as its like a shot of caffeine.Did anyone else feel like this?
Still feeling very positive.

I am currently 15.6 st and would like to be about 10st.I was the same as loosingit.I put on lots of weight having babies, most of it while breastfeeding which I hear is very uncommon {I put it down to having big boys which were always higher than the 97th pecentile for height and weight.....if they got in the chart at all, LOL]so they took some feeding.

Hi Loosingit looks like we will be at about the same start week.
Hope you are all having a good weekend.

2littlins · 16/09/2007 11:44

BoleynGirl you had a special occassion and have got straight back on the wagon, you are doing great so just remember your long term results and not focus on a slight blip on one day.Seriously well done on the wine though..
