I'm starting CD on Tues. My main worry is how my body will adapt after being on a vlcd? Anyone due to start soon or have any experience of maintaining their weight loss on CD

Sounds like a plan! keep going BoleynGirl! You will get there!

BoleynGirl · 09/09/2007 13:10

I'm determined to do it this time which is why I felt rubbish for giving in last night. I didn't even enjoy it if that makes sense.

Does anyone else hate all the soups or is it just me? I'd rather have the cold ones any day. In my next order, I have only plumped for tetra drinks, cold shakes and bars. That's it. Unfortunately I have about 10 packages of soup left to use before Thursday.

hattiejacques · 09/09/2007 13:26

Hi I'm back after my sleep. Sorry you had a blip boleyn but I agree totally with spooky that you haven't let anyone down. You've done really brilliantly to get yourself back on track. This diet may be fab but it's gotta be said it's very antisocial. How's it going today? Btw my counsellor has let me swap any flavours I don't like so it's worth asking. I'm like you I prefer the shakes and have a hot choc every night but don't like the soups at all. Last night better than the previous one for me. I did feel more tired than usual but it was tolerable because I wasn't weak and hungry like before. Off tonight then back for 2. Had another load of p taking comments as well from my colleagues who thought I was being ridiculous. Funny isn't it how people react. I'm not sure it's completely out of concern for my health. There's definitely some jealousy there too.

OP posts:
BoleynGirl · 09/09/2007 13:53

That's true, about the jealousy thing. I bet it is present to some extent. I want to do this for me that's why I didn't just eat everything last night after slipping. I really want this. I need to get my weight down because that will make me happier.

Good for you for sticking with it. I'm drinking lots of water today and back to it.

hattiejacques · 09/09/2007 16:53

We are invincible!!! I feel the same as you. Completely fed up of looking like this and not being able to feel nice in my clothes. For me it feels like now or never. I am worried about how I'm going to manage the social side of things. I've got a friends 40th bday meal and party coming up and a wedding. Feel all stressed when I think about it because even if I'm doing 790 by then it doesn't really allow much. Do you know what would happen if when on 790 you had a big night out or a proper meal? Would it mean you were back to square one in terms of gaining loads or would it mean a couple of pounds gain

OP posts:
BoleynGirl · 09/09/2007 17:51

I know what you mean about upcoming things. The only big thing I have coming up is a girl's weekend away with 3 friends (at the end of November). We're going to Edinburgh for the weekend. I think I've already accepted the fact that for that weekend I will be drinking and eating. I will watch what I eat carefully but know it'll result in a weight gain so I'm sort of half expecting having to go back to SSing after that weekend to shift the weight. I could live with that.

We will do it! I have taken some before photos and started a blog today. It's for me more than anyone else.

hattiejacques · 09/09/2007 18:02

Yes I suppose we need to be sensible. It wouldn't be much fun to have a weekend away with 3 milkshakes! How much do you want to lose?

OP posts:
BoleynGirl · 09/09/2007 18:29

Given I have no idea what my weight is now, I only have a vague idea so think 4 stone is what I'd like to lose. When I get there, I can reassess and see if there is more to lose. What about you? What are you aiming for?

hattiejacques · 09/09/2007 18:52

I was 12 st 11 lbs last monday and I'd really like to get down to 9 1/2 st if I can so just over 3 st I think.

OP posts:
BoleynGirl · 09/09/2007 23:35

I think as a target weight, for my height (I'm 5'9" and a bit), I think achieving 10st would be great. I've decided to go to Boots and weigh myself when I'm in town tomorrow. I think our local Boots has a scale. I'm not back at work till 17th so don't want to wait till then. Plus if I weigh myself tomorrow I'll at least have a better idea of the starting point.

slalomsuki · 10/09/2007 10:44

well ladies I think I will be joining you tomorrow on this. I have made an appointment with a counsellor for tomorrow morning and will take it from there.

BoleynGirl · 10/09/2007 10:48

Ok, so I went to Boots this morning, and I'm an educated woman but I could not figure out how the thing worked. Plus, I wasn't prepared to do it in front of a queue of poeple for the pharmacy! So I'm none the wiser. I'll wait till I see the counsellor Thursday.

Slalom, hope your appointment goes well! Other than my slight slip, I've been doing fine. It is definitely doable. Let us know how it goes.

Tottie32 · 10/09/2007 14:38

i will be joining you tomorrow girls....

quite scared but i really need to do this asap., otherwise i will put it off till next summer and just like this summer i wont do it

hattiejacques · 10/09/2007 16:46

That's great news Tottie and Slalom. Good luck. The first few days can be tough but you do start to feel better. Let us know how you get on. Poor you Boleyn with your attempt to get weighed! I'm seeing my cdc tomorrow so will let you know the outcome. I definitely feel I've lost as my jeans are comfortable! Bought some earl grey, licorice tea and coke zero for a bit of fluid variety

OP posts:
Tottie32 · 10/09/2007 16:53

not heard of liquorice tea where was that from, lady grey is nice to early grey with a hint of lemon

hattiejacques · 10/09/2007 17:09

Unfortunately you can't have fruit or flower herbal teas on cd so wouldn't be able to have the lemon one. The licorice tea which is divine was from my local health food shop

OP posts:
Tottie32 · 10/09/2007 19:42

sounds yummy... will get some tomorrow..

BoleynGirl · 10/09/2007 19:51

Good luck with your weigh in Hattie! I am struggling with bowel issues it seems (sorry TMI). So bought some stuff to help move things along. Never had to do this in my life so it must be diet related.

I don't drink hot drinks (no tea or coffee) so I just have coke zero for something different. I have it at night as a treat for getting through the day!

hattiejacques · 11/09/2007 19:30

I've lost 9 lbs!!!! I'm so thrilled with myself that I struggled through the first week. I've been constipated too but it doesn't seem to have affected my loss. My cdc advised senna or lactulose so will try some senna later.

luckylady74 · 11/09/2007 21:18

hattie - fantastic!

SpookyMadMummy · 11/09/2007 21:26

Fantastic weight loss, Hattie!
Sounds like you are all doing fab!!

BoleynGirl · 11/09/2007 22:23

Hattie, that is great news!! Well done you!

I'm on day whatever now and it's getting easier. Seeing my cdc on Thursday to get weighed but won't know what I've lost. I'm realising that wasn't my smartest move ever!

mahonia7 · 11/09/2007 23:03

Hi Everyone

I've just finished day 5 of the CD. Weighed myself this morning and have lost 9lbs.

It is getting easier as the urge to eat food starts getting less but still a long way to go.

I'm find the breath thing a bit of a problem. Drinking loads of water (about 4 litres a day) and having to brush teeth about 5 times a day.

Is anyone else using bio oil to try to stop stretch marks? I'm also doing a Callanetics dvd when I have time to try to tone up.

I hope to be at my goal of 10 stone 7 lbs by Christmas.

Best wishes

M

hattiejacques · 11/09/2007 23:11

Thanks. I feel on cloud 9 today. Got to keep going. It's definitely getting easier though I expect temptation will come way in the near future. I think I'm so pleased with myself because I've been trying for 2 years to lose weight. I went to sw and ww but couldn't seem to stick to it and as I got bigger felt more and more despondent about it. At least with cd there's no negotiation on what you can eat. I expect I might struggle when I come off sole source. But for now I feel this diet is giving me the incentive I need to continue. Let us know how you get on Boleyn. You'll probably feel better in your clothes so you'll know you've lost.Did anyone else start today?

hattiejacques · 11/09/2007 23:16

That's great weight loss Mahonia. I don't seem to be having quite the same breath probs as you although my friend accused me of smelling of mashed potato! Not much I can do about that one.
