I'm starting CD on Tues. My main worry is how my body will adapt after being on a vlcd? Anyone due to start soon or have any experience of maintaining their weight loss on CD

Well, I fell off the wagon too. I only have 6 pounds to lost to get to goal weight.
I went out to a Silver Wedding on friday. I couldn't not eat or have a drink, so I had a few snacky bits off the buffet and quite a bit of wine
On saturday it continued. My saving grace is that I did go to the gym. Today I started with new resolve to rid myself of the water and glycogen stores I put on over 2 days, (it equates to about 4 pounds) and behave my bloomin' self!
I am gonna stick to it because on tuesday I am on a course to become a CD Counsellor and I can't be fat! Its in the code of conduct that you have to stay under a certain BMI. At the moment I am, but many more days like friday and saturday then I won't be...
Feel free to kick me into touch!

hattiejacques · 16/09/2007 13:15

Naughty spookymadmummy!! What a terrible example you are! Will that do? Seriously, you are only human and it was a special occasion. What matters is that you are back on track.

Btw good luck to loosingit and 2littlins. It's a fab diet but you have to be really committed especially to drinking water. Don't know how I've stuck to it actually over the weekend. It's not like me to not give in to french bread and cheese cravings. What's spurred me on is my weigh in on tues and the fact that I'm already in a size smaller jeans and I'm only on day 13

Hi Again.
Went to councellor today and picked up tonnes of shakes. Didn't bother with the soups cause I tasted one at the meeting and they tasted crap. I was however pleased with the taste of the Mint Chocolate shake so I have loads of them.
I start tomorrow morning. I already have my water bottles filled up so fingers crossed everyone!!!!
You all seem to be doing so well. I think this forum is a great idea.
Catch up soon. X

hattiejacques · 17/09/2007 17:04

How's it going losingit? Hope you're doing ok. And you boleyngirl. You've gone quiet! By some miracle (I think the shakes must contain willpower) I'm still going strong. Worked a night last night and was hungry and fed up of drinking water but got through it and have got my weigh in tomorrow. People at work noticed I'd lost weight which gave me a boost. Come on then girls!! Where are you all?

SpookyMadMummy · 17/09/2007 17:26

Hi ladies
I am on my CDC training day tomorrow

hattiejacques · 17/09/2007 17:35

Good luck with it. You've come such a long way you really deserve it to work out. What does it involve exactly and are there set hours etc.

OP posts:
SpookyMadMummy · 17/09/2007 17:40

Hi HattieJacques
The course is one day. You see clients at home (you can go mobile if you prefer). You buy stock at one price then sell at the RRP. The difference is your profit. The great thing is you choose your own working hours so it works out well for me having 2 DD's

hattiejacques · 17/09/2007 17:50

Do you decide how many clients you will take? Do you know whether it's a reasonable wage? It can't be much can it? Sorry about all the questions!!

OP posts:
SpookyMadMummy · 17/09/2007 18:19

Its ok. I don;t mind the q's.
Should be a reasonable amount, theres no limit on clients. I will get referrals directly from Cambridge HQ or through local advertising. I already have 4 clients lined up and only one is a relative! I am not sure what the ratio of profit is yet, theres a discount scheme. I guess I will learn alot tomorrow!

2littlins · 17/09/2007 21:02

Hiya,Good luck with the weigh in tomorrow hattie, how exciting people are noticing the weight loss.

I have just got through day 3...hard yesterday as I really wanted some roast chicken but restained and didn't even taste the soup I made from left overs today for the dd's.Have decided to get on the scales tomorrow to see if its working.

I have started using bio oil. Hoping this may stop the hanging skin thing if CD actually works on me.Thanks for the tip girls!

I found a really great shake shaker on ebay made by USN which has a mesh insert at the top..and volume measures written on the side. When water and shake are in the mesh sits at the top, then the screw top lid seals it so you can shake as long as you like.Haven't had one lump since I started using it.

How have you got on with your first day Losingit?

Let us know how your traing goes SMM and if there are any tips we should know

hattiejacques · 18/09/2007 13:03

Great that you're doing so well 2littlins. Keep it up. You should be starting to feel better soon. I'm thrilled today as I've lost another 4 lbs that's 13 lbs in 2 weeks!! And I've gor some snack bars to try which I'm incredibly excited about! (Doesn't take much at the moment as you can tell)

fedupwasherwoman · 18/09/2007 13:18

Hi, I'm very temped by the CD as I need to lose at least 4 stone.

It seems a bit severe though and I'm worried I wouldn't stick to it but am encouraged by the amount of weight loss you ladies are achieving and the timescale in which you are achieving it.

One thing that worries me is the possibility of ending up with saggy folds of skin which used to be plumped out by fat. Is this more likely if weight loss is rapid as with the CD and has anyone experienced it ? I'm over 40 so my skin's elasticity is declining already .

hattiejacques · 18/09/2007 13:26

I haven't experienced it but my CDC says that drinking such a large amount of water helps and also using products such as bio oil or Palmers. Have a look on the Cambidge website. It's got loads of info and you can always contact a counsellor to talk about the diet and whether it's right for you

OP posts:
2littlins · 18/09/2007 14:57

Well it works!!!
Jumped on the scales thismorning (day 4) and are 3.2 kg or 6.4 pounds lighter.
Even got the yoga videos out today i bought 2 years ago that had the cellophane still on and shuk & wobbled my way through a toning work out which saw me tie my not sinewy unslim legs in knots .

Have a good day all!!

2littlins · 18/09/2007 15:19

Well done Hattie!!!
Hope to be joining you soon with that amazing weight loss.

Thanks for the support, probably a bit mad but I am going it alone for now as I wanted to see if I could stick to it,so no councillor yet.

hattiejacques · 18/09/2007 16:36

What a fabulous weight loss. You must be so pleased. Keep up the good work!!

BoleynGirl · 18/09/2007 21:03

Sorry I've been back to work and it's been insane. I'm also doing my MSc and started that this week, too. I'm still sticking to it though it's been hard the last few days. I weighed myself today and since last Thursday, I've lost 4 pounds. So that's incentive to keep going, definitely.

Well done hattie on the weight loss! Great news!!

loosingit · 18/09/2007 23:21

Hi there everyone,
End of day 2 for me and i'm surprised how easy it is. The shakes are filling me up even though i'm over 20 stone and usually eat tonnes of crap throughout the day. It's the amount of water I have to drink that seems to be the issue. I thought I drank quite a bit of water, but obviously not (she says taking a sip) cause I keep forgetting to drink it, then have to do a litre in one go to keep up. Thank god for a downstairs toilet!!!lol
I think i'm smoking a bit more too, but to be honest, if I smoke 3 or 4 more a day I don't care as long as the weight comes off. I can tackle that at a later date.
Everyone is doing so well - keep up the great work. I'm going to buy some scales tomorrow cause I haven't any. Should I weigh myself every day or when?? Has anyone made their own weight loss charts or similar. Not sure what to do really and my councellor has gone to Corfu.
Thanks and here's looking forward to bad breath.

MatildasMummy · 19/09/2007 16:14

Hi All

have just read all the messages on this thread and very excited as I'm going to see my CDC tomorrow. I had a chat with her on the phone (for almost 2 hours) and I'm feeling pretty inspired and ready to get going. My daughter was 1 on Monday and I wanted to feed her up to her 1st Birthday. Feeding has now stopped and she seems fine with it so as of next Monday i will be joining you. I don't have a clue how far I have to go, joined WW in January and was 14st 12lb and should be somewhere around the 10st mark for my height. Since I abandoned WW in February (is my 5th attempt and was getting bored of points) I have put on quite a bit and am scared to get on the scales. I have left it till tomorrow so in my head as soon as I found out how bad it is I will already be dealing with it. Trying to cut down on carbs although I have had 6 slices of bread today.... whoops.

how is everyone getting on? any tips for surviving the first week?

ps - i am actually a Hattie, although I swapped to Hat because of the Hattiw Jacques associations!

hattiejacques · 19/09/2007 17:31

Hi everyone. Good to hear you're still going strong Boleyngirl and Loosingit. I have to admit I've been weighing myself every day. I can't help it even though it's not a good idea. It's such a thrill when the next pound comes off. So glad I stuck with it over the past few days when I was finding it torturous if I'm honest because now I'm feeling so much better and it's been a breeze today. Shouldn't get too cocky really you never know what's around the corner. It's just a relief to have an easier day. I'm really enjoying the variety of the bars. Have tried the malty one and caramel. Both taste a bit fudgey which suits me fine! Btw Matilda's mum it made me laugh that your real name is Hattie! Not that it's a funny name you understand just that I chose it as my nickname after feeling very hattie jacquesesque due to my incredibly large knockers!!

OP posts:
hattiejacques · 19/09/2007 17:33

Meant to say a huge good luck for when you start the diet

OP posts:
2littlins · 19/09/2007 17:44

AAwwchh...guess the yoga worked as I am feeling little muscles that I never knew were there.

Everything going well here altho I have a question.

I am having a diet redbull for breakfast and a pepsi max for dinner [I know, lucky I get my nutrients from CD isn't it!!!]

The thing is I don't drink coffee or tea and so need the burst of caffeine to get through the day.

Is this allowed or do I need to cut out my last vice now that I don't drink, smoke or eat. LOL

Hi Matildasmummy.Good luck, it isn't as bad as you would think. I just take one day at a time and are determined to get through successfully.

hattiejacques · 19/09/2007 18:03

Don't know the answer to that one but I expect it's a no! Pepsi max contains citric acid I think which can knock you out of ketosis. You can have coke zero though - up to a pint a day I think. You'd have to check with a cdc about the red bull or post your question on minimins
