Banting is my favourite old fashioned word. Means slimming, and I got it from Agatha Christie Grin

That's great Octopus ! And you're so right Cankles . In some ways, I almost wish that I didn't have these favourite clothes that I want to fit back into as it's probably unnecessary pressure that I don't need. But, I just know that I won't be able to let the idea go, so on I plod.... I've also got 8st9 in my head as want to be 8 stone something and 8st9 means I will have lost 3 and a half stones in total and I like the 'roundness' of that as an amount! Grin

Canklesforankles · 22/02/2020 09:57

Wow Hounds. You are doing so well! It’s ok to have a target. It’s just working out what being kind to ourselves looks like for ourselves if that makes sense?

So it might be regrouping and getting another half a stone shifted or it might be focussing on more healthy eating and being more active or whatever.

Heygirlheyboy · 22/02/2020 11:13

Wow Hounds

Cankles you are doing great and.Octopus great to be down! Enjoy Saturday all. Hope WellErr DontFundHate and WineLoffa and others from early on all doing OK.

DontFundHate · 22/02/2020 14:42

Aw thank you for the tag @Heygirlheyboy

Things are on the up here at last, throw your top tips at me please for getting back on the wagon! Planning to be back at it after Tuesday (pancake Day!) Maybe with a lent thing to spur me on too.

Will catch up on the thread this eve :) hope you're all well x

ndo4000 · 22/02/2020 17:41

Hi everyone 👋🏻 . Back from sunny Spain where I ate and drank waaaaaay too much! My punishment was that the airline lost our bag in the way home. 😱

Am heading to the gym tonight and dreading what I will see on the scales. I have managed to be reasonably good today but it's hard to get back to it. Still, there were a couple of VERY unflattering pictures taken over the holiday which should motivate me.

Heygirlheyboy · 22/02/2020 19:12

I'm afraid to track the cals this evening. Just in from a liquid and nachos lunch with friends and it was si very worth it! Grin

everycowandagain · 22/02/2020 19:58

Just checking in. Not been very consistent the last week or so, life has been crazy, but I am still hanging in there. Every time I feel like quitting I remember that I am easily fitting into jeans and trousers that were too tight after Christmas and I shouldn't forget that.

Had a day out with the family today so 9000 steps, then did a weights workout while DH gave the kids a bath. Food has been pretty good too, although I am definitely having a G&T shortly!!

My PT is doing my weight and body fat next Saturday to see progress since Christmas so this week I will be good as gold, apart from pancakes on Tues of course.

everycowandagain · 22/02/2020 19:59

Gad you are doing ok @DontFundHate

everycowandagain · 22/02/2020 20:04

Hope the bag turns up soon @ndo4000 what a pain!

Twixes · 22/02/2020 21:57

Argh @ndo4000 and hope you get your bag back soon!

What a lovely post @Canklesforankles, we are all too hard on ourselves sometimes!

Slowly plugging away here, keeping the exercise up but I've stopped calorie tracking and I might try this for a while to see how I go. Do what Jordan Syatt calls 'intuitive eating'.

Happy weekend everyone :)

Twixes · 22/02/2020 22:00

@TheHoundsofLove wow that's such impressive weight loss. You must feel amazing!!! So satisfying.

TheHoundsofLove · 23/02/2020 09:37

Aw thanks Twixes , Hey and Cankles ! I do feel pretty amazing! Grin
It's dark and gloomy here today, but I"ve managed 11km this morning - I normally do more on a Sunday, but the wind was against me the whole way and my legs felt like lead.
Twixes Intuitive eating sounds like a great idea for a while.
My son is on holiday next week, so I don't think I'll manage any fast days. I think I'll just plan to keep to 16:8 and aim for damage limitation!

Octopus37 · 23/02/2020 10:16

Hounds that is amazing losing so much weight, you have done so well. I didn't have a good food day, due to circumstances (being out and about) yesterday, but aimed for damage limitation. Was 9st3.75 still this morning, so think the damage will show tomorrow. I ate:
Breakfast - 2 oatcakes and 7 almonds
1 mini costa mallow bite
A steak and cheese 6 inch subway with salad
1 more costa mini mallow bites
About half a scoop of brownie ice cream
Three quarters of a bag of salted popcorn
1 standard sized back of maltesers
I slice of seeded bread toast with 1 mini babybel light

No idea of calories, but know it will be too ready. Just shows what happens if you don't get the opportunity to have a proper dinner.

Heygirlheyboy · 23/02/2020 10:57

Planning is everything for sure octopus! Boring as it can be. My cals were gobbled up by gin and prosecco yesterday! Ono done for tomorrow, lunch defrosting for work. Hounds incredible run!! DontFundHate great you're on the up! I think we're over the hump guys and hopefully will stay motivated now.

everycowandagain · 23/02/2020 12:06

Sounds like it wasn't so bad for damage limitation @Octopus37.

I have done a long cardio workout from fitnessblender and some tricep weights this morning, I am going to try to keep my carbs for before and after exercise and fairly low at other times, just for my last push before holiday. Will see how it goes, if my blood sugar drops I will have a rethink.

ndo4000 · 23/02/2020 17:02

Well the bag turned up last night thank goodness!

@TheHoundsofLove 11k this morning! Is that walking or running? Either way very good for a Sunday morning!

As predicted, the Spanish trip added some weight back on, but I was pleased to see that I wasn't back to my original weight!

Have just been out for lunch, so I have about 100cals left for dinner!!

Will be more strict from tomorrow when half term is over!

Heygirlheyboy · 23/02/2020 20:26

Today I had:
Greek yoghurt and strawberries (260cal)
Coffee
Grilled tomatoes, mushrooms and scrambles egg with potato cakes and spinach (500cal)
Beef stew with broccoli and v small steamed potato. Done for the day. I need to start getting the regular exercise in.

Porpoises · 23/02/2020 21:47

Wow hey that sounds perfect.

Had a lot of good puddings at a friend's birthday weekend, but still ate fairly intuitively and listened to my body. Weighed in last week to a slight drop, hoping I can keep it at this level.

Octopus37 · 24/02/2020 07:45

Weighed in at 9st4 this morning, not enough exercise yesterday and probably ate a bit too much over the weekend. Would be very pleased if I could get to 9st3 by the 1st March as that was my aim.

TheHoundsofLove · 24/02/2020 08:06

Hey Yes, motivation seems to be picking up again! We just need to keep going now...
every Carbs around a workout seems to be a good plan - isn't that largely what Joe Wicks does?
ndo So glad that your bag turned up. Btw, I was running - I'm a convert and credit it not only with my weight loss but also the fact that I am still fairly sane!
Porpoises Listening to our bodies is definitely the only way forward.
Octopus I think you'll be able to do it!
I've stayed the same, which is a bit of a bugger. But, I have had quite a relaxed weekend and I suppose that at least it shows I can maintain my current weight. I've not got high hopes for weight loss this week so will have to pick up the reigns again in March.

Heygirlheyboy · 24/02/2020 08:13

Hounds I need to get back at the running myself, even a regular 5k would be great. I'm 9 stone 5.75 this morning which gives a total of 8.9lb loss since Jan 1st. Delighted with that Smile I remember th is being my heaviest weight just two years ago but at least feel on the way to my true self again. Down side is another 23 cals taken off my daily intake! Long walk with friend tonight. Family occasion in three weeks and I'm looking forward to looking good! May need style tips!!

Patchworksack · 24/02/2020 08:27

Morning! I weighed in at 9st5 today so a lb down but only back to where I was 31/1. I've had a couple of days where I've had some sugar and I just have no off switch, I think I need to just give it up completely, so contemplating doing no-sugar for Lent.

Patchworksack · 24/02/2020 08:28

What is the book that some people were referring to about sugar addiction?

everycowandagain · 24/02/2020 11:37

Was it I Quit Sugar? I see that recommended a lot.

Heygirlheyboy · 24/02/2020 12:21

That's me, promise to type up basic rules of it later.
