Banting is my favourite old fashioned word. Means slimming, and I got it from Agatha Christie Grin

Oh no @wastingtimeworrying glad it all got sorted!

Octopus37 · 20/02/2020 15:53

Well done wasting, enjoy your break. Having another day where I want to eat the world today Have eaten:
Almonds and oatcakes for breakfast (315)
Asda Jamaican Chicken soup for lunch280)
I pack of 2 Cadbury snack biscuits (84)
I cream egg (175)
Planning on peppers stuffed with rice and turkey mince for dinner
Starting to lose motivation which always seems to happen when I have been dieting for about 6 weeks. I'm a bit sick of being hungry at the moment but will persist. Weighed 9st4.75 this morning.

Heygirlheyboy · 20/02/2020 16:22

I'm the same octopus wrt wanting to eat everything. We must be 7 weeks in, should definitely be able to see it by end next week. I can see it from waist up but it's bloody slow. Going to enjoy a njce dinner

Octopus37 · 21/02/2020 08:52

9st4.5 this morning, think its fair to say its a maintenance week. Know that I always hit a pain barrier at this point with a diet, v slow progress but I keep telling myself I have lost nearly half a stone. Not sure I'm going to be 9st3 by the end of next week but wonders never cease. Happy Friday all x

Heygirlheyboy · 21/02/2020 08:54

It is slow octopus but you're on the right track. I'm going to try on some of my sidelined trousers today to see how they fit! Takeaway with friends tonight. Will get a long walk in.

TheHoundsofLove · 21/02/2020 10:12

Octopus I think we have to try and remember that slow progress is still progress! I appreciate that it's a bloody hard slog though... I don't think I'll hit my 9st2 end of Feb target either.
I hope you've slipped into those trousers Hey . I tried some old size 8 jeans on yesterday - they do up but are tighter than I would like. I reckon that another half a stone would have them fitting perfectly. So, on I plod...

Heygirlheyboy · 21/02/2020 10:16

Thank you! They fitted! :) Like you, I'd like them to be looser as still a little fitted but it's proof if a change. All the little thing we do now will help I think. Like others I have had a tough few months, even years unfortunately, food has been my best friend :( I'm determined to move away from that.

Heygirlheyboy · 21/02/2020 10:18

My recommended cals on my tracker have gone down....does that sound right?!

Heygirlheyboy · 21/02/2020 10:24

Yes they've knocked 50 cals off! Seems unfair, that's for just a pound a week loss. God I used to be able to eat anything. Pretty depressing.

Twixes · 21/02/2020 10:31

Why have you had 50cal knocked of @Heygirlheyboy ? Did you have a birthday?

All going fine here. Down a little bit yesterday to a new low and then up and tiny bit again today. But the trend is down, albeit slowly like @TheHoundsofLove and @Octopus37!

At this rate I'm unlikely to reach my end of March goal but I might get to it by June and I'll be happy with that. Onwards we go!

Heygirlheyboy · 21/02/2020 10:33

Twixes I mean January daily allowance was 1350cals per day and now its 1303.. I haven't been logging exercise which might make a difference but I'm assuming it's the slow loss, tho its 6.9over seven weeks so not too far off the one pound a week goal.

Heygirlheyboy · 21/02/2020 10:34

June would be great, it can't be sustainable I suppose if not slow enough. May 4th is my projected date on my app! Just in time for new summer clothes!

Twixes · 21/02/2020 11:25

That's what I'm thinking @Heygirlheyboy, and I'm on holidays for two weeks in June. I'm going to France and I don't plan on avoiding the boulangerie!

TheHoundsofLove · 21/02/2020 12:03

Yes - aiming for June would give us 12 solid weeks. I think that 7ish pounds should be possible in that time frame, even allowing for slow loss.

Octopus37 · 21/02/2020 13:20

Hey and Hounds, I'm well envious of you being able to fit into a size 8, I'm aiming for a 10, still a 12 at the moment. I feel your pain about calories having to go down, I used to be able to eat loads more a few years ago too. Agree slowly but surely, my goal weight is 8st10, so nearly 9 pounds to go. Hoping that I might be at target for mid May or June at the latest, just in time for Summer. That should make me a size 10 with a bit of luck.

Heygirlheyboy · 21/02/2020 14:32

Octopus our targets are the same but you're ahead od me. Too right we'll be in an 8! Grin

Heygirlheyboy · 21/02/2020 14:40

My dietitian friend says the reduction is because when we lose weight we need less calories to survive, fgs! She's still to put me on her scales which will be interesting and hopefully encourage me. I typed up a list of tips/views from my Breaking up with sugar book earlier and then clicked 'active posts' so they disappeared :( but I will retype later when get a chance.

TheHoundsofLove · 21/02/2020 15:09

My target’s 8st 9 and I’m 9st 4 currently so I’m aIso aiming for another 9lbs. I’ve definitely noticed that all my exercise means I’m leaner than when I’ve been this weight before. Come on we can do this! 💪

Octopus37 · 21/02/2020 18:32

HeyGirl I'm with you about not going back to comfort eating, v hard to break the habit but I am trying. Just out of interest know you have the same target as me, was wondering what height you are. Not expecting to get to an 8 as I wasn't even a fully confident 8 when I weighed less than 8st. If I get down to a 10 I'll be pleased, the occasional 8 top or dress would be nice, also have big hips which has always stopped me making an 8. Could probably tone up (although I do a fair amount of walking), but I am struggling for time in between sorting stuff out to do with my house move, trying to retrain, work, dealing with my kids etc. Have just made a nice dinner from The Roasting Tin, Chicken with Peppers, was quite nice. Food wise hae gone a bit over today, have eaten:
Breakfast - I cereal bar+ I oat cake (328)
Sandiwch with crust and 1 mini babybel (about 300)
Maltesers bunny (157)
Muller Light (100)
Small bit of chocolate brownie (about 100)
Dinner, not sure of calories but was a chicken fillet roasted with peppers and onions, served with some grains (had half a pouch)

Heygirlheyboy · 21/02/2020 20:43

Octopus just briefly I am a sugar addict according to yale questionnaire in book so I can't have any, which I think is different to you.. she likens a cheat day as akin to giving an alcoholic a cheat day. Unfortunately that's true for me so I'm sticking out with none for 66 days..

I am 5 foot 2. I will be an 8, or else. I'm an 8 Next size on top now but they're very big sizes.

Heygirlheyboy · 21/02/2020 20:52

PS you have a lot going on x

Canklesforankles · 21/02/2020 22:51

I’ve not lost this week but have maintained so that’s fine. Been off work for half term.
Ate half a bag of midget gems while helping DD finish some coursework (she has adhd and needs a scribe when she is stressed but it is very stressful for me too!)
Anyway I noticed that eating like that is me looking for an energy boost and also self soothing (well soothing with sugar) because I was stressed.
I’m back in work on Monday so back on 16:8. Once I get to my target I’m going to aim to

Maintain
Keep up my fitness
Accept my 50 something body. It’s done 4 kids and a rough peri menopause.

I’m not going to look like I did at 19 and that’s OK. I’m sure with lots of gym and weights I could be much more toned but being honest with myself know that while I’m work8ng full time and supporting teens I won’t/ carve out much more than dog walking and perhaps a class/swim and that’s ok too.

Thank you all for the atmosphere here. You have helped me lose 5lbs when I was beginning to feel that was impossible! 4lbs to go.

Heygirlheyboy · 21/02/2020 23:09

Aw cankles what heartfelt post. The book says when you feel that need to: have a bath, cold shower (!), or simply notice what you're feeling and why - sounds lame but it helped me this week and it's become my go to. Apparently cravings stop after 30 mins so I just hang on in there and know I'll eventually break the craving. I hope!!

Octopus37 · 22/02/2020 08:03

Cankles that was a lovely post, you are so right about not trying to look like we did when we were 19 or whatever, I tend to struggle with being a bit unrealistic there. I'm in awe of you coping with 4 teens, I have two boys ages 10 and 12, the 12 year old is now taller than me and behaves like a fully fledged teen. I love the support on this thread to, think it really helps keep us all going. Weighed 9st 3.75 this morning so was pleasantly surprised.

Canklesforankles · 22/02/2020 09:15

Great work Octopus and Hey. Let’s keep on keeping on Grin
