Here we are @DottieLottie1 @TantricTwist @MrsGrindah @MyGhastIsFlabbered @Threadbaretoe @Skyejuly (and anyone else wanting to join our chat about all things weight loss and maintenance... and fitting into Levi's like we did/dreamed of once upon a time)... our shiny new home! 👖💃

After we've filled up our current one, of course

Morning ☺️

It's hard being in the space when you're waiting for some kind of closure, when is the funeral @DottieLottie1? It's hard going back to work but having some normality might help.

Thank you re my waist - I totally understand why you didn't comment before! Let's just keeping chatting knowing that we're going to be sharing a mixture of heartfelt things and seemingly shallow things and might sometimes miss acknowledging the latter - and it's all good ♥️

I stepped on the scales this morning because I was intrigued about my weight/waist thing after yesterday. I'm back down to the low end of my happy zone and given it's a Saturday (ie takeaway and wine last night) I'm happy!

I was thinking yesterday that I'm the happiest I've been in my body for a very long time, maybe ever! 💃 I so appreciate it's shape and vitality now whereas I used to take it for granted!

I'm actually thinking now that I'd like to drop another pound or so to get to around 10st 11lb. Even tho it's just a number, ie it won't really notice on my body, it gives me a couple of pound zone of fluctuation to stay in the 10st something range, which feels like a nice clear line in the sand to maintain from now on.

Anything beginning with 11st and I'll be back on it!

No idea of plans yet today but something like this foodwise:

B: vBLT
L: fast
D: home-made pizza or v burgers and fries

Have a relaxing day ♥️

Oh and well done getting down to your pre-hols weight too @DottieLottie1 tho I appreciate it's not happened how you'd have chosen.

Is this your happy weight?

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 14/03/2020 08:57

@Seer, a lot of this weight loss malarkey is shallow I suppose! There can be a difference between a healthy weight and what you want to see in the mirror. Having said that at my happy weight (yes, I'm back to it) I think my mental health is in a better place 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Funeral next week.

Seer · 16/03/2020 23:11

Strange times. Thinking of you all, and particularly you @DottieLottie1

I remember thinking "how is the world still going on as normal?" When my parents died, I was thinking earlier that these huge changes might be making things even harder for you to come to terms with your loss, Dottie.

Sending you lots of love ♥️

Things are continuing pretty much as normal here as my work is online anyway and the children are still at school.

I'll get back to posting daily tomorrow, it'll be nice to have something that's normal to focus on!

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 17/03/2020 17:12

@Seer , you have picked up on how I'm feeling/coping. Unfortunately if I'm not thinking of mum I'm worrying about financial and wider health implications of the current situation. My hands have a constant tremor and I know its stress. Back to work by the end of the week after the funeral.

I'm definitely not gaining weight at the moment and I've never been one to console myself with a glass of wine. I only like a drink when I'm in a good mood thankfully.

Thanks for the support.

Seer · 17/03/2020 19:29

Oh bless you @DottieLottie1 Will you still get paid if you're not at work?

My DCs are off school now - they have some of the virus symptoms but who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️ - so we're all having to isolate. Thankfully I can work around them to a large extent so it's nowhere near as difficult for me as it is for most.

Food today:

B: fast
L: left over lentil shepherds pie
D: Indian takeaway (has been a long day and fancied a treat to support our regular Indian and not to have to cook!)
Will also have a glass of wine

Hope you can have a restful evening

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 17/03/2020 19:48

Due to my DC ages the school closure is not such an issue but will probably mean my work closes down too. @Seer as far as I'm aware we will not get paid, which is causing me extreme anxiety. I know I'm not the only one but it's all a but much at the moment.

It's also having an effect on the funeral as cant have the reception part as venue has cancelled.

Hope you enjoy your Indian and you and your DC feel better soon.

Seer · 19/03/2020 21:06

Thinking of you all, especially you @DottieLottie1 and you doing that much-needed work @TantricTwist

I'm guessing we'll all come out of this really slim but not for the reasons we'd hoped ♥️

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 19/03/2020 21:54

Funeral today. Very small affair due to the current situation. RIP mum.

We've got enough food for about 2 weeks. No panic buying here but a little concerned we will not be able to get hold of things. Loo roll situation not too bad.

I haven't eaten much today. I had a couple of glasses of wine after the funeral but no nibbles. Dinner was jacket potato with garlic and herb philly.

Back to work tomorrow.

I'm with @Seer and I'm thinking of you @TantricTwist at such a stressful time.

Stay safe, fit and healthy everyone.

Seer · 20/03/2020 08:32

Oh how do you feel now after the funeral @DottieLottie1 ? 🌹 i'm so sorry it had to be so small, that must have been hard.

Good luck going back today - you'd have thought they'd be closing your work. Do you think that's imminent?

Dh is classed as a key worker so technically our DCs can go to school (if we weren't self isolating due to DS!), I think we'll register for it but manage without sending them in if we can. It's possible for the DCs to be here given I work from home tho is v challenging at times (eg me doing a client session with them having a massive argument in the background 🙈)

I've just hopped on the scales for my Friday weigh-in and despite the lack of exercise (due to self isolating) and a marked increase in wine, I'm at my lowest weight!

And my waist is a clear 29"! Which isn't tiny (honestly I would love to have a waist like yours Dottie!) but this waist size with my bust/hips creates a nicely defined hourglass. I'm very happy to be in this 48yo body! ☺️

Working/home schooling today, will fit in kettlebells and dog walk (we're in the middle of nowhere so won't see anyone).

B: fast
L: Buddha bowl
D: Chinese takeaway (whilst we still can!) and wine

Have a good day all ♥️

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 20/03/2020 08:52

@Seer , yay you got to your goal size, and it sounds like it hasn't been overly difficult.

I think I'm ok, the takeaway meal was lovely and we reminisced which was lovely. I'm sure I'll still have my moments but I suppose it's all part of the grieving process.

I'm guessing my work are waiting for forced closure so pandemic insurance is triggered. Though no one has said so.

Double fast as I'm having a few glasses of Prosecco tonight. Dinner will be steak, corn and potatoes. Probably our last exciting meal though.....

DottieLottie1 · 20/03/2020 19:12

Urghh, been told not to attend work for the foreseeable.

On a plus I've maintained and not lost which is what I was expecting. I thought I might have lost more due to my current state of mind.

Stay safe everyone, tough times but needed.

Seer · 26/03/2020 09:23

Hello all,

How are you? Been thinking of you all, especially @DottieLottie1 grieving in these times and @tantrictwist on the front line.

I'm happy to go back to regular posting here if anyone else would like to? Doesn't have to be about weight loss/maintenance- just a way to keep in touch and have some normal routine. Most of our chat was about other stuff anyway!

I've got some weight loss news actually tho and my first thought was wanting to share it with you so here I am!

I've dropped the last pound I said I like to get me into a comfortable zone below 11st... it's just happened! No idea how! I've not been dieting at all (just loosely keeping to No S) or even exercising much.

So I've now lost exactly 30lb and 6" off my waist since last May. And to date only 3 people have commented on it 😀

I'm feeling so grateful to you for the support to get me here. I think this is the best my body has looked and felt since before DCs.

In other news, DS is still coughing and we're in isolation until Monday when the 14 days ends. I can not wait to see the (empty) shops with my own eyes! I have no idea what the world out there looks like!

Slowly getting used to juggling work with home schooling - some great days and some really challenging ones. I'm grateful that my work is something that allows for it tho.

I don't even know Food plan yet today, we're running out of choices! I think it might be:

B: v cheese on toast
L: Buddha bowl
D: lentil spaghetti bolognese

Sooo that's me! How are you?! ♥️

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 26/03/2020 09:54

Yes still here @Seer. Weight loss, well maintaining has paled into insignificance. Strange world. I'm taking BoJo seriously and I'm sticking rigidly to the rules. Iveva feeling the restrictions will be in for far longer though.

I'm doing ok with the grieving. I'm having a cry or two through the day but I'm baring up not too bad all things considered.

The DC have been really good with completing their work. I wouldnt call it homeschooling but home learning as I'm overseeing and offering help but as a rule they are getting on with it. Their work is all set and submitted online, they are loving their pe sessions 😂.

We've got plenty of food, not from panic buying I shall add! DH works in hospitality and came home with fresh meat that was destined for the bin on forced closure. In his role he is still allowed to work under the restrictions.

I might get cabin fever in time but I look at it as we are all in this together, some have it far far worse. There will be an end of the tunnel and we will get through it. I've got beautiful views out of my windows and can breathe in the fresh air in the garden or on the balcony.

Today's plans- oversee that the DC are doing their work. Dog walk through the woods/ farmers field keeping at an appropriate social distance from anyone I might come across. Films this evening.

B- Vanilla and almond milkshake
L- almond milk based hot chocolate
D- Soya bean spaghetti and Parma home
S- Blueberries

I've only drugs alcohol once since last Friday Government announcement. Think I've showed great restraint in the current climate!

@Seer maybe you are a little anxious over everything? I'm sure most people are. Well done on dipping under 11stone however it happened. Thanks for your support. 😊

@TantricTwist hope you and your family are ok, thinking of you at this difficult time.

Stay safe everyone.

DottieLottie1 · 26/03/2020 13:22

Drugs alcohol 😱 bad autocorrect 😳

Drank alcohol it should say!

DottieLottie1 · 27/03/2020 09:05

Morning.

Not much planned today, obviously. I cant work from home (wouldn't that be fun if I could @Seer!). I've completed all the online refreshes/training my employers have asked of me. Looking likely I'll be furloughed but had no mention of it from HR yet. I'm coping (just) but I'm either thinking of DM or this!

Proud of my neighbourhood far and wide last night. We made a racket, thanks NHS and to all key workers at this time. Your brilliant 😊.

I've got to venture to the supermarket which will be my first since lockdown. Then I'll take the dog for a walk, at least the weather has been beautiful. Probably attempt 🤔 to cut DS'S hair as it's gone wild!

Will weigh at lunchtime as I'm finding that's generally whennim at my lightest. Going to have a couple of cups of tea but itll be a double fast and then steak, potatoes, mushrooms and peas for dinner. Some well deserved wine and some fruit.

Enjoy your day as best you can!

Seer · 27/03/2020 14:11

Afternoon! I love your autocorrects @DottieLottie1 😀

How was your weigh in?

We've just had a food delivery from a kind friend which was v welcome! We hadn't run out of food but options were getting limited.

We couldn't cheer last night - or we could but we're in the middle of nowhere so only the wildlife would have heard us! Such a touching thing for everyone to do tho.

B: fast
L: left over roast veg pasta, satsuma and pear
D: Chinese takeaway and wine!

I've decided to take the afternoon off and I'm now sitting in the garden with a book.

I hope you manage to rest and relax tonight ♥️

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 27/03/2020 14:44

Are you on the outskirts of your town @Seer? Im very close to the old part of my town and semi rural....

Lovely walk with the dog its beautifully warm, definitely clearing my head.

The supermarket was an experience! Long queue in the car park due to social distancing and a one on one out policy. It took me about 20 mins to get in which was fine. The shop itself was calm and well stocked again, but it's almost impossible to avoid people in the aisles. I was in and out on 5 mins.

Successful weigh in, I've maintained back at my ideal for the last 3 weeks. Mot sure how as I'd have thought it might drop off with the double stress I'm experiencing! Though saying that I did drop 5lbs the week DM passed.

Going to try and hey a takeaway tomorrow, for a treat, for normality and to support local business.

Stay safe.

Seer · 28/03/2020 11:30

Morning! ☺️

Really good on the maintenance front @DottieLottie1 ! Well done! What size are you now? An 8?

Yes, we live just between the town and a nearby village beginning with F, so not in one nor the other! We're surrounded by fields in all sides which has been particularly perfect for these times! I used to see people walking their dogs around here but I haven't seen any other dog walkers for the last week, shows how many were previously driving in from elsewhere!

Just done kettlebells for the first time in a week or so (rare for me to leave it that long but I wasn’t feeling well enough, possibly CV but who knows?)... and man, i was out of breath like I’ve never know before! Felt faint afterwards 😬 will wait a couple of days before I try again!

DS is still coughing up a storm bless him, it'll be two weeks on Monday. He now has earache too 😔 I'm about 95% sure it's CV.

Not up to much today aside from a family tackling of the housework (really missing the cleaner!!), tidying the garden and walking the dogs. I have a few work bits to catch up on (my work has not got any quieter!) and otherwise will take it easy and read, watch films etc.

Running fairly short on food options now but the plan is something like this...

B: v cheese on toast
L: fast
D: possibly home-made pizza topped with whatever I can find that the family are content with - I do at least have olives and mushrooms! And Pink cava ☺️

Have a lovely day ♥️

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 28/03/2020 12:03

I'm glad your on the mend @Seer and wishing your DS better.

I'll only have to go out for veg, fruit and milk next week, luckily we have a village store close by and they are taking social distancing measures. Saves the hell of the supermarkets. Not much planned for today, though obviously we are all limited to what we can do. Will be going for a very blustery walk and making the DC come too. Other than that we'll order in a takeaway. Im also having pink cava tonight! I need to make a list of household jobs that need tackling to keep me busy in the coming weeks.

I'm guessing you live to the North of your town? If so my cousin has just bought her first home fairly close by (ok still a few miles). One of the new builds on the B road on the way out of town that goes past the swimming pool....

DottieLottie1 · 28/03/2020 12:04

And yes a comfortable size 8.

Seer · 28/03/2020 12:14

Hah! Yes! Your cousin is practically our neighbour. The coincidences between us are crazy! 😀

It sounds like her house is at the bottom of our road! (We're some way up that road into the countryside)

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 28/03/2020 12:56

😆

Seer · 28/03/2020 13:02

You can drop in for a cuppa when all of this madness is over! 😀

OP posts:
Seer · 01/04/2020 09:10

Morning! Ah, crazy times!

Just as I think we've settled down into a good pattern with working/schooling/being stuck in the house together 24/7, it all goes wrong again 🙈😀

Otherwise, I'm feeling good. My weight is maintaining at the new lowest weight, rather mysteriously 😀

Wow! Finally going shopping on Monday was a shock! The country has changed a LOT in such a short space of time.

How are you feeling @DottieLottie1 @tantrictwist @MyGhastIsFlabbered and all?

Just working today and will walk the dogs later.

B: fast
L: home made veg soup
D: bean chilli and rice

Have a good day all ☺️
