@TantricTwist, I'm on it, I always bring immodium in my first aid kit. First time I've ever used it myself!

Pretty sure its something I've eaten rather than quantity!

My poor DD bless her is struggling with her skin in the sun. Shes been wearing handfuls of factor 50, regularly topped up, shoulders covered and sat in the shade but alas still getting sore. So, I'm worrying about that!

Seer · 17/02/2020 09:58

Morning all! ☺️

@TantricTwist they were really busy due to Valentines day so I'll mention it when we next order and I'm sure they'll make amends (we're v regular customers!)

@DottieLottie1 so glad you're having a good time. I hope your upset tummy settles soon. I sometimes find the flight and travel makes mine a bit weird for a few days. I hope your dd adjusts soon too - I can imagine that's challenging for you both.

I had a lovely day with dh yesterday, watched 1917 (brilliant) and lunch in wagamamas. I ate all manner of snacks but that's all good as it was it was an S day!

Today I've got a lazy day with the children, meeting some DRs and their DCs for lunch which will be lovely.

Just knocked out 90 KB swings which I haven't done for the past week (I never want to when I'm on) and I'm feeling fit and fabulous!

B: fast (despite making the DCs pancakes 😇)
L: eating lunch out, probably Japanese or Chinese
D: meatballs and spaghetti with garlicky broccoli

I've been thinking about where to channel my body/image focus now I've got my body back and feeling fairly confident about maintaining it, and I'm thinking it's about: Creating a wardrobe where I love wearing everything in it. That's going to involve ruthless decluttering and the buying (or having made) the clothes of my dreams!

Have a lovely day all! ☺️

@ouch321 I'm assuming your relatively short? No, I wouldn't do it that way. Track what your consuming and allow yourself some treats along the way and you'll soon be the size you wanna be. I lost 4 st 1 lb in 8 months. I'm currently on holiday in a size 8 bikini as opposed to last years tight size 14

I'm 5ft 4 or 5ft 5 - not quite sure which.

4 stone in 8 months is an impressive loss. How many calories did you cut to per day?

Tantric

Size 12 right now.
I went and got those jeans yesterday afternoon. It was funny. I genuinely couldn't get them past my thighs.

My weakness is biscuits or cake with tea. Also choc and ice cream.

Today was not too bad as a Day 1 but def could do better!!

B- overnight oats with strawberries
L - half a piece of cake a colleague brought to my desk
D - some fish pie with broccoli

S - 2 x Nice biscuits and a ginger nut and 2 x mugs of tea

Cals - I'd say about 1500 - 100 for an hour long walk.
So about 1400.

DottieLottie1 · 18/02/2020 00:18

Hi @ouch321, I went to 1200 calories mon-fri but ate relatively normally sat and sunday wine and takeaway included. I walk loads and loads though. You can do it! Honestly it's ok once you get in the swing.

Seer · 18/02/2020 07:52

@ouch321 you might find the No S diet (tho its not really a diet) works well for you if cakes etc are your weakness.

I lost 2 stone from May to Dec through 18:6 and 1200 cals/day (usually 1k week days and more at weekends)

Now I'm a happy size 10 (I'm 5'7") I'm maintaining through a combo of 16:8 and No S but no calorie counting.

You can get a good overview of the No S Diet here: www.nosdiet.com/

I think it would be very slow to lose weight on unless you have tonnes to lose but I think it works well in combination as it gets you into more mindful habits of consumption. I had no idea how much I grazed previously, I actually thought I wasn't a snacker 😀

What size jeans did you buy?

I'm off today with the DCs and my DD's friends tho also got a couple of work calls. They're my only work calls all this week so I don't mind.

Might do some arts and crafts with the DCs and then get a dog walk in later.

B: fast
L: sushi bowl (rice, edamame, pickles, avocado, cucumber in rice wine), 2 choc truffles
D: tofu and veg stir fry, jasmine rice and spring rolls

Have a lovely day all! ☺️

Morning all ☺️

I've just done my weekly weigh-in a couple of days early as we'll be away on Friday... I've lost another pound! This can only be the workings of the No S as I've been eating completely normally (if not, more!) at lunch and dinner and haven't felt hungry between meals.

I'm still happy with how I look, I'm not looking too thin so I'll continue to trust that I'll soon naturally plateau at the right size for me.

@TantricTwist how are you? Have you weighed again recently?

Got a friend and her DCs over at lunchtime and then booked in to do some pottery with the DCs later. Then home to pack for the long weekend away (leaving tomorrow).

Will do some kettlebells this morning and will hopefully get to walk the dogs later.

B: fast
L: baked potato with beans and sweetcorn
D: veggie-topped pizza on cauli base (from Waitrose - I love them!)

Have a lovely day all! ☺️

TantricTwist · 23/02/2020 12:16

Oh god, it's been a funny old week of eating and I haven't really been keeping track at all. I've been very tired, been working all week.
I'm too scared to go on the scales @Seer this week so I'll do it next week
I'm getting fed up with this weather esp as I have to drive around in it a lot.
I have found a brilliant way to cook chicken keeping it very moist so I can use it in wraps etc from the fridge.

I use my ceramic crockpot and just pop the chicken in there and cook for 2 hours or so in a normal oven.
For lunch just now I had a wrap with chicken, lettuce, roasted carrots, gherkin, mayo and mustard.

@DottieLottie1 glad you're enjoying your holiday, hope DD skin is less sore.

I find that Rieman P20 SPF is brilliant and we never burn with that stuff on. It's also fairly waterproof which helps.

@ouch321 I'm only an inch taller than you and I'd love just to be a size 12. My weakness when I'm on diet is sweets I just crave chewits, refreshers and jelly beans, I get a really sweet tooth for some reason.

TantricTwist · 23/02/2020 12:18

Ooo enjoy your long weekend @Seer where you can eat, drink and wear whatever you want which is exactly what you're doing @DottieLottie1 and what I want to be doing lol Grin

DottieLottie1 · 24/02/2020 09:28

Morning everyone, I'm back!

No sleep as had a night flight so my eyes keep rolling. DC back at school knackered 😬 but hey they've had a lovely holiday. Back to the norm apart from the mountains of clothes washing needing doing 😱. DDs burnt skin recovered nicely but I cant allow it to happen again, will look into your suggestion @TantricTwist as the banana boat factor 50 was useless! She wore a tshirt and baseball cap in the water, sat I the shade when out and we applied cream every hour 🤷🏼‍♀️. DS on the other hand has olive skin and never burns.

Holiday and weight control 🤔, I don't think they go together. I started off so well and then it went to pot. I originally aimed for fruit for breakfast, salad at lunch and a normal dinner. Whilst the food was excellent the selection of fruit was not to my taste and they didn't really do salad! I definitely ate and drank far more than I do at home but not ridiculous portions on comparison to others. I didn't have a single chip a la Brits on holiday though 😂.I guess I've put a few pounds on but from today I'm back on it. I've decided to skip weigh in this week as I don't want to be too disappointed, holidays are for enjoying yourself right? Not for feeling guilty which I did ! Hopefully I'll shift it quickly and the scales will be kinder on me Friday week!

Got back to some bad news. Unfortunately my poorly DR has taken a turn for the worse and is awaiting further news on their health and whether they will be hospitalized. It's all a waiting game. My family decided not to tell me whilst I was away which I understand and if the roles were reversed I would have made the same decision.😔

I've just dropped DC at school and put a load on. I'm going to cat h a few minutes sleep and then it's the usual dog walk before I collect DC. Need to go shopping too.

B- cuppa or two
L- Vanilla and almond milkshake
D- pesto pasta with Italian meats and breads

975 calories. I will probably feel a bit hungry until my body adjusts back to how I normally eat.

How is everyone? Any plans?

Enjoy your Monday everyone 😊

Seer · 24/02/2020 19:57

Evening all!

So glad you had a good holiday @DottieLottie1, I'm so sorry about your DR though. Not an easy thing to come back to. I hope they pick up again.

I'm sure you'll soon be back to your usual routine and size so try to go easy on yourself.

I had a good weekend away, thanks @TantricTwist !

I didn't actually eat much more than usual for various reasons (not intentional, just the way the events went) but I drank waaaaay too much on Friday, which has put me off alcohol since!

DCs back to school today so a normal day here of kettlebells, work, school run and dog walk and then a friend came over.

B: fast
L: sushi bowl
D: bean chilli, rice, guacamole and a small handful of tortilla chips
A glass of kombucha

The friend that came over this evening thought I'd lost more weight (she's the only one who has noticed in the first place!) but I think it's just that i was wearing yoga pants so you can see my figure more clearly than usual.

Have a good evening all ☺️

Oh also, I felt absolutely amazing in the dress I wore at the W/e event! It really made all the work to get to this point worth it.

OP posts:
ouch321 · 25/02/2020 00:24

Seer

I bought them in a size 6.

I would put up the photo of me not getting them past my thighs as it was really quite funny but.. that would scare everyone.

I started off ok today with strawberries and then a mix of chicken/couscous and rice but 'accidentally' had some biscuits with my tea in the afternoon.

Stir fry for dinner but ruined it by eating about 8 of those Lindor mini eggs and one of those little cake squares. Grr.

Have prepared my overnight oats with some banana, strawberries, raspberries and blueberries for tomorrow.

Seer · 25/02/2020 09:30

Morning all! ☺️

@ouch321 why do you want to be a 6? That sounds small for your height unless your frame is teeny.

I'm a only little taller than you and loving my body being back to a size 10. No plans to shrink any further!

Hope your oats keep you full and on track today!

It's my long day at work today so other than a dog walk I won't be doing much more than working. I'm doing all kinds of things that I love (writing, recording, mentoring) tho so it really could be worse!

B: fast
L: Buddha bowl
D: mixed mushroom pasta in cashew cream with an olive ciabatta roll

Have a magical day, all! ☺️

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 25/02/2020 10:46

Thanks for your kind words @Seer and I'm glad you felt great in your dress at the weekend 😊

@ouch123 size 6! Not being judgy (honest!) just a bit concerned, wouldn't a size 8 be more realistic and sustainable?

As for me, I'm knackered. Had a trip to a A&E with DD last night so wasn't home until early hours, coupled with no sleep the previous night due to our flight home. Rested my arse 😂

Today, once I pull myself together will be housework and dog walk plus DCs taxi service this evening.

B- cuppa or two
L- Vanilla and almond milkshake
D- Roast chicken in pitta with salad, olives and lighter than light mayo
S- Blueberries

That's around 900 calories

Have a good day all

DottieLottie1 · 26/02/2020 08:17

Morning all.

Very bad nights sleep, this time definitely linked to anxiety over poorly DR. Its the end of the road, pain relief only. I'm devastated for them, for my family and for me. It's a cruel world.

Back to work today, double shift and I'm knackered not like someone who has been off o a luxury holiday for over 2 weeks! My eyes can barely open. Hopefully I'll perk up after a cuppa or two. Need to clear my head somehow.

As for my diet, I've managed to more or less get back into the swing straight away. My hunger isn't quite what I thought it would be and I seem to have adjusted back to (my) normal eating habits.

B&L-cuppa
D- large Jacket potato with onion & Garlic Philadelphia and mountains of salad
S- Prosecco

That's around 1000 calories, I haven't calculated it properly yet but will add it to MFP later.

Anything interesting happening for anyone?

Enjoy your Wednesday everyone.

Seer · 26/02/2020 21:45

I'm so sorry to hear that @DottieLottie1 no wonder you're struggling to sleep. I hope you manage to find some rest and ease in the coming days and nights. Sending you and your DR lots of love ♥️

Been a busy day here but also pleasant. Loving the bit of sunshine!

B: fast
L: small portion of leftover mushroom pasta and salad
D: puff pastry pizza, scalloped potatoes, broccoli and green beans
S: one choc truffle, one kombucha

I've still gone right off wine! I've only had one small glass of red since last Friday (when I drank lots but it wasn't like I had a terrible hangover). I don't mind it but it's quite odd! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Wishing you all well ☺️

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 27/02/2020 08:31

Morning!

Thanks @Seer, we haven't been given any indication of how long DR has left. DR is not at the point of end of life care yet. It could still be some time, but without treatment (itcwasnt working) things will probably speed up. Pain relief as and when required. In just hoping they will be able to live with a bit more normality now but the knowledge that the 'big C' will get you sooner rather than later will be a weight.

Your veggie meals do sound delicious, I should try some of your ideas!

Working a double shift again today. Will camp out in a coffee shop in the break between the two as its horrible sleety weather here. Not much walking will be recorded today although I must do a fair amount whilst actually working.

B- Vanilla and almond milkshake
L- coconut milk based hot chocolate
D- spinach and ricotta tortellini
S- Blueberries

Enjoy your Thursday everyone

Seer · 27/02/2020 21:20

Evening all.

That sounds really tough for you all @DottieLottie1. Make sure you look after yourself well during this time, you sound like a rock for your family.

I felt so hungry today, no idea why but I've managed not to go too crazy considering!

B: olive ciabatta and hummus
L: Buddha bowl
D: roast veg and chick pea pasta with olive ciabatta
S: kombucha, biscuit, choc truffle

Always happy to share some recipes, Dottie, tho I've been veggie all my life so I mostly just throw stuff together!

@TantricTwist @MrsGrindah @Threadbaretoe @MyGhastIsFlabbered how are you all?

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 28/02/2020 09:09

Morning. Another bad night 😔

Off to work shortly but home late afternoon so a nice working day. DH wants to get a kettlebell (I've been singing their praises @Seer 😜) we will head onto town later and see what we can find. I realise he will need a heavier weight than me but I'm guessing we can start with a compromise 😉.

Started the day with a cuppa but will fast until dinner as I'm making a chilli with tacos and all the dips. Plus the obligatory Friday 🥂🍾. Will be just shy of 1500 calories.

I'm going to skip today's weigh in and re-start next friday so hopefully the damage from my holiday wont be so obvious. Interestingly when I tell people I've put on a bit whilst away (I'd guess up to 7lbs) they look at melike I'm mad! I definitely have as I can feel it but maybe it doesn't look it so much 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Any plans this weekend? Enjoy your Friday all 😊

Seer · 29/02/2020 17:16

Afternoon all! ☺️

Did you get one @DottieLottie1 if so, what weight?

Re people's surprise at your weight gain: I suspect you can get away with carrying some a good few pounds when you're as slim as you are.

Yesterday was sooo busy with work and I didn't get a chance to post

B: fast
L: tofu, roast veg and rice
D: Indian takeaway and 2 spritzers (first alcohol in a week)

Today I'm feeling hungry and letting my hair down a bit as it's the weekend. It's really not the most nutritious of days!

B: vBLT
L: fast
Snack (I might as well have had lunch!) a v sausage roll and a veg Samosa
D: v chicken burgers with salad in wraps, corn, fries
Will probably have a couple of spritzers later.

I weighed myself on wed rather than Friday this week and have stayed exactly the same, which is perfect.

Have a lovely Saturday all! 💃☺️

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 29/02/2020 17:48

@Seer, no luck as the shop we looked in is closing down and has sold out. Will look online...

Better nights sleep last night even though had more bad news regarding DR 😔.

Just back from work and I'm planning a lazy evening ahead. Double fast as its takeaway Saturday for us, most probably fish and chips (actually saveloys for me!) , so lazy getting it delivered 😜.

B & L- fast
D- Chippy
S- 🍾🥂

Hope your Saturday was/is more interesting than mine everyone!

Seer · 01/03/2020 19:05

So sorry that you've had bad news about your DR @DottieLottie1 . I'm thinking of you ♥️

Been a busy day, went to a rescue place to get the DCs some small animals (maybe outing to say what!), got home and got them settled, walked dogs and now finally sitting down.

B: vBLT
L: fast
D: Chinese takeaway
Might have a glass of wine later

Have a lovely evening all! 🥰

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 01/03/2020 19:39

Thanks @Seer 😊.

Another good nights sleep thankfully! Then we went to the football and enjoyed the match and the hospitality 😉 which means my diet went a bit out of the door! I e been back on it since getting home from our holiday but how can I refrain from complimentary food and booze?????? I haven't gone too mad though!

Virtually no walking achieved today as it's the DCs duty to walk the dog, plus at the footy he lifts did the job 😳

Enjoyable day but got to get more focused now. Hope you all had a lovely weekend 😊

DottieLottie1 · 02/03/2020 09:00

Morning. Iffy nights sleep but I can probably blame that on last nights booze!

I've got to get in the zone again, starting now. Part of me doesn't want to weigh on Friday now I've had a bit of a self destructive weekend (more than a mini blowout!) but if I dont see the figures I wont have a focus. Also, the moment I stopped stepping on the scales a few years ago I put on 4 stone 😱.

Once I drag myself out of bed (though I have already emptied the dishwasher😉) I've got up do the weekly food shop followed by dog walk. This afternoon I'm going g over to see a new addition to my close family 😍.

B- cuppa or two
L- Vanilla and almond milkshake
D- pesto tagliatelle with Italian meats and breads

1000 calories

@Seer, I'm glad your maintaining happily, something I want to be able to do. I've also got to learn not to feel guilty when I'm on holiday or going to an event!

Enjoy your Monday all.

Seer · 02/03/2020 11:07

Morning!

Congrats on your new family member @DottieLottie1 ! 😍

It's definitely taken me seeing the evidence that letting go at weekends is fine if I'm being mindful the rest of the time.

Typically now I'm No S (no snacks, seconds or sugar, except I will have some dark chocolate after lunch) and 16:8 Mon-Fri but I won't calorie count or restrict lunch or dinner, and then I'll eat whatever I want when I want Sat-Sun. It seems to be working out fine weight-wise and feels very natural and easy so I'm learning to trust myself again.

I'm sure you'll get into a happy swing of things soon.

Working today then over to a friend to celebrate our DS's school places! We got the one we wanted! ☺️

B: fast
L: Buddha bowl
D: spaghetti, v meatballs and broccoli

Have a lovely day all!
