Do you think you'd be ok with putting that half stone back on tho @DottieLottie1 ?

Yes cals still matter with 2 meals/day but I think it would be challenging to eat so much in those meals that you put on weight. I agree though that you'd probably only LOSE weight if you were calorie counting (or something) too unless you had a lot to lose.

DottieLottie1 · 24/01/2020 08:50

@Seer, I'm 9st 5lb now and my original target weight was 10 stone flat. I thought 10 stone would be my happy weight. I was very pleased when I hit target but up until 4 years ago i hovered around 9st. In answer no I dont think I'll be happy gaining weight but I also know I can drop it once again. I'm thinking I'll probably stick to fruit at breakfast, salads at lunch and what I fancy for dinner to try and limit the damage! I let my hair down over christmas period and gained 3-4 lb but shifted that within 2 weeks.

I'm well aware it could become an obsession and I dont want to slip down that hole.

TantricTwist · 24/01/2020 15:30

Yay to us all being losers or maintaining this week 🤸‍♀️

@DottieLottie1 I think you're not obsessive but are now used to healthier eating 🥕🥒which you have always balanced out really well alongside days when you eat and drink what makes you (and all of us) happy 🥂.

You've hit an excellent weight now which you will maintain, for sure. You will always go up and down a few lbs I guess because we all do, it's normal.

@Seer I've been looking over the previous thread to see what you were all eating and you ate a lot of what I'm eating now which is the soups. Which dumplings were you adding to them?

I'm going to be eating a lot more veg miso (asian) type soups and leaving out the noodles unless I feel tired and dizzy.

B - alpen ( quite a lot of cals but filling)
L - 6 fish fingers 🤷‍♀️
D - egg fried rice with peas (I've already cooked the rice, just letting it cool down for later)

DottieLottie1 · 24/01/2020 16:34

Thanks @TantricTwist, I absolutely want to keep with my healthy eating but allow myself to treat without guilt and holiday without guilt. That's the new challenge for me 😜

TantricTwist · 24/01/2020 20:14

You'll be fine @DottieLottie1 and lets face it you finally managed to make me get on the scales. I mean how was I ever going to do well at this without doing the scales 🤦‍♀️ 🙈

And let go of any guilt 🙅🏻‍♂️, you've made it 🏅, you've lost the weight so nothing to feel but joy 🕺 at the fact you can now eat more yummy things 💖

Seer · 24/01/2020 20:39

Trust yourself @DottieLottie1 you can do anything!

@TantricTwist yes I was eating a combo of miso or bouillon with veg (eg broccoli and spinach) with 4 Itsu veg dumplings. I found it really filling but was low cal (under 200 cals from memory).

OP posts:
TantricTwist · 24/01/2020 22:47

Yes I like those itsu dumplings - not many in a pack though - I'm going to attempt making my own wonton dumplings - I've wanted to make them for ages. Been watching online videos to get it right. I'm going to try them as pot stickers too. I'll let you know how I get on Crown Grin

Seer · 25/01/2020 10:45

I'd love to know how you get on @TantricTwist I love that kind of food 😋

Got a quiet day of dog walks, chores and chilling planned today and then got visitors over this evening.

B: ciabatta with tapenade, avo, tomato and fresh basil (yum!)
L: fast
D: home made pizza (lots of veggie toppings), brownies and ice cream, probably some wine

I've stuck pretty well to the No S all week so it'll be lovely to have a pudding guilt-free today!

Have a wonderful Saturday all! ☺️

OP posts:
TantricTwist · 25/01/2020 11:36

The wonton wrappers arrived and they are huge - like square A4 size huge ConfusedGrin but at least if I cut them into 4 I get more for my ££
I can't wait to make them later. I'll use up all the filling I make and freeze what's left over.

DottieLottie1 · 25/01/2020 15:53

Afternoon!

Just home from work. No plans for this evening other than snuggling up and watching movies with a takeaway and Prosecco 😜

B & L- fast to make way for...
D- KFC and 🥂🍾

I hope your baking goes well @TantricTwist, maybe you could post a pic of the result? Enjoy your evening with friends @Seer!

TantricTwist · 25/01/2020 18:29

I haven't baked yet @DottieLottie1 as watched film with DS who is suffering a Confused romantic situation. I'm now about to IPL myself Grin Might leave wonton experiment till tomorrow.

B - Fast
L - Clear boullion
D - not sure yet, not feeling hungry at all.

TantricTwist · 25/01/2020 23:13

IPL took forever with many distractions in between. All I've eaten so far is a banana, a basic salad and a refresher bar. I've hundreds of cals left over. I was a bit more sensitive to the ipl than before so had to turn it down a notch. My skin seemed to be pink this time too Confused afterwards. It's working though which I'm so happy about. My hair is barely growing back now, it's weird seeing the odd long hair where I've missed a bit Grinat least that shied it's working

Enjoy your evening maintainers Wine

Seer · 26/01/2020 09:31

"Maintainers" love it 😀 @TantricTwist

Also thank you for the nudge to get back on the hair removal.

Had a lovely evening, thank you! I also noticed 3 things yesterday:

  1. It's slowly feeling normal to feel slim again - I'm worrying less about putting weight back on.
  1. I'm not now overly focusing on what I eat but I'm starting to naturally moderate with snacks, grazing, portion sizes etc. Eg when I've put out bowls of snacks when we have visitors here... stuffing my face with crisps, even sweet chilli Tyrell's, doesn't make sense or feel appealing now.
  1. Eating only two meals a day feels healthy and natural now, I don't seem to feel hungry between those two meals, even on the weekends where I eat breakfast and dinner, and miss lunch.

I feel so happy to be in this body and this head space! 💃

No idea what we're doing today and therefore no idea what I'll be eating! Will report in again later.

What are you all up to? ☺️

OP posts:
Seer · 26/01/2020 10:30

I now know my plans too...

Heading out to look at kitchen show rooms (getting ideas for the extension), then lunch in town for Chinese New Year, dog walk and then a family brain storm/scribbling with coloured pencils about what we all want in the extension!

B: BLT in a seeded baguette
Late L: veg and tofu rice with spring rolls
D: fast

Have a lovely day all! ☺️

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 26/01/2020 14:35

Yes, with the IPL it's the legs that take soooooo long! Totally worth it though.

I'm just back from doing a bit of food shopping. This morning I was watching DS play his sport, not as cold as last week but still felt it 🥶. I've also taken the dog out with DH and have reached 10,000 steps already.

Sitting back with my legs up at the mo with a cuppa. A spot of online shopping and looking at purchasing those packing cubes for our suitcases. Has anyone got them, and are they any good?

Apart from a bit of housework we are having a lazy evening again.

B- Vanilla and almond milkshake
L- fast
D- Roast chicken in wraps and salad.
S- the Prosecco I didnt drink midweek 😂

That's around 1400 cals, so not too bad.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone 😊

TantricTwist · 26/01/2020 14:57

I'm definitely with you on 2 & 3 @Seer. Good luck trying to choose the dream kitchen it's going to be hard with all the choices. Floor to ceiling cupboards leaves more space is my only contribution to advice.
I love that I feel full on less and not snacking loads between meals, just snacking because I'm genuinely hungry not just because.
I've lost 2lbs just by eating less and not moving around much at all last week so hopefully this week where I'm on my feet a lot more it'll be interesting to see the difference.
And I'm so happy that my tinned Heinz soups make a great lunch for me, a bit like you @DottieLottie1 and your shakes. I feel like I need to stick to these as a simple effective way to keep full and get me through this weight loss esp as I still have so much catching up to do.

B - Fast
L - Tomato soup
D - hopefully wontons if not stir fry.

TantricTwist · 26/01/2020 15:02

Yes @DottieLottie1 my mistake with the IPL is to be too gung ho and just get everything over in one go, so it took ages. Also actually the machine gets quite hot after being on for hours so I think by the time I got to my legs, which I was going to leave till today, it was quite hot and hurt more than the last time and my legs went a bit pink. I did go online and read up about people experiences and they say it will get and stay hot. So I guess I need to space it out better, as I don't want to overheat and break it. Although there's nothing to say be cautious as it will overheat and break.

TantricTwist · 26/01/2020 20:52

Eek - I don't know if I've made a huge mistake but I used the hair trimmer thing that came with my IPL to shave off the downy invisible whispers of fair hair that appeared the last couple of years on my upper lip and then zapped the area with my IPL. Knowing that it only really works on darker hair. I still thought I'd try it anyway as in the sunshine it really shows up sometimes.

D - Stir fry rice with pork, sweetcorn, green beans, Chinese leaf, egg, spring onions. So delicious with all the proper flavour ingredients such as fresh ginger and sesame oil, oh and Sherry in place of Mirin of which I also had a glass.

Seer · 27/01/2020 07:50

I haven't braved my legs yet @TantricTwist I thought I'd start with my other bits and then do my legs if/when I'm happy with the rest.

Any joy on bikinis yet @DottieLottie1 ?

How are you getting on @MyGhastIsFlabbered @MrsGrindah ?

The style of the kitchen cabinets themselves should, in theory, be the easy part as I only really like a traditional style (like the kind Chalon are known for). The challenging part is deciding how we'll use the three rooms (two existing plus the new one in the extension) - eg does the existing dining room stay a dining room or become a snug? Do we go for sofas and a coffee table in the extension or put the massive dining table in there? Do we go for a peninsular just jutting into the extension or an island thereby using the whole space for the kitchen? Etc etc 🙈

I'm mostly working today (this evening too) but will aim to fit in kettlebells and a dog walk.

B: fast
L: dumplings, veg and miso (don't have much food in)
D: puff pastry pizza, potato scallops, broccoli

Have a lovely day all! ☺️

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 27/01/2020 08:47

Your Kitchen problems are a lovely one to have @Seer but I know with the expense you need to get it right!

I'm going into town tomorrow in the search for bikinis but as it's out of season I'm not expecting much joy! I need to work out my bra size and go from there. I was in 36C but I'm guessing I've gone right down to an A cup..... I'm not actually bothered but would like my clothes to fit properly! I'm still not certain of my body shape. If I didnt have (extremely) broad and square shoulders I'd be a pear, my figures a bit like Cameron Diaz's but with a little more to my lower hip area. DISCLAIMER: I do not look like Cameron Diaz in the slightest (upper bodies similar) 😂😂😂

Today's plans- having a cuppa I bed before I get up properly. Out with the dog for a longish walk. I've then got to pick up a delivery and I've decided to do that by foot too. Normal boring household chores and some holiday planning.

B- cuppa or 2
L- Vanilla and almond milkshake
D- Pesto pasta with Italian meats and cheese

That's 975 calories.

Have a lovely Monday everyone 😊

Familyband · 27/01/2020 13:15

Hi Everyone. Can I join you? Joined a thread specific to Louise Parker's Lean for Life and it's not really very active. I'm not hugely overweight but would really like to lose two stone before Easter when we're going to New York for 6 days to celebrate silver wedding and DH's 50th birthday. I talk about losing 2 stone every year and mostly lose one before July hols and then put it back again in the second half of the year. Would really like this to be the year that I actually do it and keep it off. I had some joint issues last year which I though was rheumatoid arthritis (my sister has it), but blood tests weren't really conclusive, so hoping that a low sugar, low gluten diet will help with that too. I also seem to have developed a dairy intolerance lately, so have cut down on that massively - helping me resist the cheese/chocolate most of the time!

I'm mostly having three meals a day (breakfast usually a smoothie), with one or two snacks. Lots of veg and very few carbs. I've lost about 5/6 lbs so far (weighing daily and today's Monday so slipped a little over the weekend).

DottieLottie1 · 27/01/2020 14:40

Welcome @Familyband, the more the merrier!

This thread is great for support and accountability. I've dropped 4st since mid-may. I'm at target now and trying to work out a maintenance diet that isn't too restrictive. I walk alot too. Your plan sounds good, just watch your calorie intake and try and get moving a bit more although I understand that might not be easy I your situation. I highly recommend downloading the MyFitnessPal app as it's an eye opener to what your consuming.

Good luck and we are here 😊

TantricTwist · 27/01/2020 17:52

I wish I'd prepared something yesterday to cook for tonight 😩

Back at work today so on my feet most of the day.

B - activia yoghurt
L - tomato soup
D - prawn crackers, some biscuits and cheddar on finn crisp with mango chutney Confused Literally just ate what came to hand when I got home.

@DottieLottie1 4 stone that's amazing I didnt realise it was that much. Bloody hell now I'm even more annoyed at myself for having drifted off course. However I'm back on track. (kind of, see above, argh, most of the time)

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 27/01/2020 19:58

Boo 1/2lb on this week...but it's better than I expected. I do really well in the week then it all goes to shit at the weekend.
