Here we are @DottieLottie1 @TantricTwist @MrsGrindah @MyGhastIsFlabbered @Threadbaretoe @Skyejuly (and anyone else wanting to join our chat about all things weight loss and maintenance... and fitting into Levi's like we did/dreamed of once upon a time)... our shiny new home! 👖💃

After we've filled up our current one, of course

Morning all 😀

@MyGhastIsFlabbered, it's only 0.5 lb, you can lose that and more by next weigh-in. What's your vice?

I walked (and a but if running) just over 13 miles yesterday. Helped because after I took the dog for a walk I then walked to the pist office to pick up a delivery. I would normally have used the car and paid parking so double bonus, and I just missed the torrential weather! According to MFP I burnt 975 calories, I'm sceptical about that and never eat them back.

Today's plans. Once I've seen the DC off to school I'll take the dog out, will probably be around 4-5 miles. Once back I'm off to the town centre to get some bits for our holiday. This evening is taken up by chauffeuring both DC to their sports clubs.

B- Vanilla and almond milkshake
L- fast
D- Roast chicken in pitta with copious amounts of salad. Lighter than light mayo
S- fruit

That's only 800 calories so I will bulk it out somewhere.

How are we all? Enjoy your Tuesday everyone 😊

Seer · 28/01/2020 07:33

It sometimes seem to go like that, when is your weighing day @MyGhastIsFlabbered ?

@Familyband welcome! We tend to log what we're eating and doing movement-wise here each day so feel free to join us. I've lost 2 stone since last May, put a couple of lb on at Christmas, I'm now back down to my happy weight and I'm maintaining.

@DottieLottie1 did you tell us where you're going on hols? I feel like I know but just realised I might have dreamed it up!

I'm in a dilemma atm whether to go to NYC for the weekend/week in a couple of months, it would be nice but is also a lot of organisation re the children, dogs etc.

Tues is my long work day - have got some interesting work to get into so it's not so bad. Will aim to get some planks, dance and a dog walk in.

B: fast
L: baked potato with chick pea curry and salad
D: pasta with garlic, olives, tomato and avo with broccoli

I just hopped on the scales out of interest and I'm still exactly at my happy weight so I'm feeling like a champion maintainer!

Have a lovely day all ☺️

Seer · 28/01/2020 07:34

Did you manage to refrain from any further eating after the cracker-fest @TantricTwist

OP posts:
TantricTwist · 28/01/2020 16:50

@Seer yes I managed to refrain which is great and I was only 1124 cals. It filled me up a fair bit so I wasn't at all hungry later on. I managed to walk 4351 steps according to the iPhone pedometer yesterday and today so far its been 2733. Although I doubt it'll much more than that tbh and if it is phone wont be in my pocket anyway.

Maybe it's just fluid retention @MyGhastIsFlabbered

Thank god you missed that awful rain @DottieLottie1 Thats a lot of excellent miles you're getting there, you must be getting a great nights sleep.

B - Apple
L - Chicken soup and some kind of low cal bake thing someone gave me.
D - Pizza

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 28/01/2020 17:22

What isn't my vice? Cake, chocolate, wine, gin. I'm amazed it was only 1/2 on. It doesn't help having a really fit boyfriend who can eat whatever he likes and stay stick thin.

DottieLottie1 · 28/01/2020 18:48

@MyGhastIsFlabbered, you can still have those things as long as you factor it into your daily allowance (is it syns for SW?) and probably not all at once!

I still have wine 3 times a week and a takeaway at the weekend but the rest of the time I'm good as gold. I do really look forward to my trears though and they definitely taste better!

@Seer its 🇲🇽, I think I've found a bikini in Next but I'm going to have to order the top on a couple of sizes to see which fits best!

@TantricTwist it sounds like your back in the groove!

18,000 steps completed so far today. Working the rest of the week.

TantricTwist · 28/01/2020 19:35

Ah yes I remember now @DottieLottie1 re hols

I'm just shy of 1400 with the pizza, which is fine by me, obvs not fantastic but we'll see when I weigh in thurs / fri. Essentially it's just a giant tomato, cheese, ham and mushroom sandwich Grin

Seer · 28/01/2020 20:01

Ah yes, I remember now too tho I'd imagined somewhere completely different @DottieLottie1 😀

@MyGhastIsFlabbered I hear you! 😀 I'm finding the No S diet an easy way to get back into good habits now I'm maintaining - tho I wish I'd found it when I was dieting! Humans tend to do better with self regulation (ie deciding routines in advance) rather than will power, so I guess that's why it works.

www.nosdiet.com/

I combine this with 16:8 and find it really easy to stick to.

How wierd is that @DottieLottie1 earlier your 'flag' showed up as M X but in blue and white as in the M X were white in a blue box and now it's changed to a flag ?!?!?!?!?!? Confused

DottieLottie1 · 28/01/2020 20:38

Dont know if it's me or not but my phone and the MN app don't seem to get on! Didnt have half the problems with iphone!

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 28/01/2020 21:06

I can't do any of those things in moderation unfortunately. I've pledged sobriety

Seer · 29/01/2020 07:42

Ah, I find this is different to moderation because I'm only eating those things at the weekends but I get that sobriety works better for you @MyGhastIsFlabbered

Typical day here of kettlebells, work, dog walk and an accidentally Indian-themed day food-wise...

B: fast
L: baked potato, chickpea and kale curry, salad
D: tarka dal, rice, garlicky chard, and chapati

Have a lovely day all! ☺️

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 29/01/2020 08:04

Morning!

Off to work shortly and home mid evening. I will try and get a few steps in between my shifts and most probably pop into a coffee shop. I still haven't decided on a bikini....

B- cuppa/fast
L- coconut milk based hot chocolate
D- Jacket potato with pineapple cottage cheese and salad
S- 🍾🥂

Bang on 1200 calories.

Enjoy your Wednesday everyone 😊

TantricTwist · 29/01/2020 22:52

Evening all

Went to work got home fell asleep. Woke up and cooked a lovely stir fry with pork and rice.

B - yoghurt
L - Ramen noodles
D - pork and rice stir fry

Calories 1223 and 2745 steps according to my iphone pedometer although it's not recording my many steps up and down flights of stairs at home.

Seer · 30/01/2020 07:19

Morning!☺️

Well, I've just jumped on the scales a day early (because I'm having my usual Friday takeaway tonight) and I've lost a pound! 😮

I'm now (just) in the 10 stone range for the first time in many years, I'm guessing. 💃

It keeps blowing my mind that I was exactly two stone heavier than this last year - I know I look much slimmer now but it's hard to fathom where all those extra pounds were stored!

I'm going to keep eating as I have been because it feels so natural and easy and I trust I'll end up where I'm meant to.

Usual day of work and will fit in some planks, dancing and a dog walk at some point.

I'm away for the weekend tomorrow hence making tonight our usual fri night!

B: fast
L: jacket potato with chick pea and kale curry and salad
D: Chinese or Indian takeaway

Have a lovely day all! ☺️

OP posts:
Seer · 30/01/2020 09:29

Also threw out a top that I lived in last year because it was one of the few things I felt I looked good in - now it technically still fits, it just seems shapeless and drab!

And got a compliment from a school mum who was saying I look great and was asking if I'd been doing Dry January 😂

Threadbaretoe · 30/01/2020 10:06

Hi everyone. Happy New YearBlush
I have just caught up with this thread and can see you have all done brilliantly.

Life has been complicated at my end with my daughter's complex fracture being.....complex. She still has an exofit brace (mental poles through the bones that are also exposed. She has had a bone infection, which made her very ill, and the saga goes on . Poor her and poor rest of the family!

I have now lost 5 stone. I have dropped below my target weight, but still within the healthy range. I am a little concerned that I am struggling to stop wanting or trying to lose. I wonder if the control aspect is a comfort when other aspects of life are less in control? I may be over thinking it due to the nature of my work, but it is something I'll keep an eye on!

I am so pleased you have kept this thread going. It's lovely to be able to check in and hear how it's all going

DottieLottie1 · 30/01/2020 14:14

Well done @Seer, though I assume your going to try and maintain at about your current weight?

Double shift starting shortly. Will also try and pop in on poorly DR. Home late evening.

B- Vanilla and almond milkshake
L- cuppa/fast
D- Tomato and basil soup and some leftover homemade lasagne (using up freezer supplies!)

Seer · 30/01/2020 16:09

Welcome back @Threadbaretoe ! I was only thinking of you earlier this week. That's an incredible loss!!! 😮 Well done! 🌟

Sounds really challenging for you all with your poor daughter's fracture - I hope this year is much smoother.

When do you go @DottieLottie1 ? We'll miss you if you're offline that whole time!

I'm v happy to stay at this weight - my stomach is pretty much flat and I'm curvy in a good way. I'm also ok with losing a couple more pounds which I think would finally get me to a 29" waist but I think any more than that and I'll start to look unbalanced. I'm deffo better with more weight in my boobs to balance out my wide hips (they're wide however slim I am!)

OP posts:
Seer · 30/01/2020 17:50

I'm ordering these to try on for a DR's wedding soon, hopefully one of them will work! 🙏 Feels SO good being able to order 10s

TantricTwist · 30/01/2020 18:34

They look lovely @Seer although you could probably now be wearing shorter and sleeveless dresses.

That's brilliant @Threadbaretoe well done, sorry about your DD though

@DottieLottie1 more soup again for me today too.

B - yoghurt and a few spoonfulls of left over starry
L - Chicken soup with Finn Crisp
D - So far: green salad and a couple of sour apple chewits. I'll have a Ramen if I get hungry later on or some cheese on Finn crisp with mango chutney.
I've had what seems to be indigestion between my ribcage most of the day (started off the day with a blinding heacache) even though I hadnt even eaten at that point. Hence my bizarre stirfry breakfast to relieve it, it didnt.

DottieLottie1 · 30/01/2020 20:13

@Seer, half term week 😉 . Those dresses look lovely, I've not ordered from silkfred before so I'd be interested in the quality.

@Threadbaretoe, that's a great loss, well done! I hope your poor DD is truly on the mend, must be stressful.

Seer · 30/01/2020 20:53

Thank you @TantricTwist I could tho I tend to feel more myself in flowier things. I'm not a body-con kinda girl!

@DottieLottie1 I ordered some things from there recently and was quite impressed.

OP posts:
TantricTwist · 30/01/2020 22:07

Mmmm if I get hungry later whole packet of Oreos Hmm

Familyband · 31/01/2020 07:03

Yay! After a very 'sticky' (ie. not losing) week, just hit the half stone off mark! About 20lbs still to go to what I'm aiming for, but really pleased with this. In previous years Feb has been tricky (birthday, valentines and church weekend away), so I'll need to be extra vigilant. Hoping that the target of our New York trio at Easter will continue to motivate me. Well done everyone else on your losses.
