Cambridge Diet / 1:1 diet, anyone? 2020 targets?

MrsHufflepuf · 06/01/2020 17:41

Hi all, does anybody want to buddy up through weight loss journey? I'm feeling really positive. I have 6 stone to loose in order to qualify for any fertility treatment.

I'm on sole source, step one. Sticking to shakes this week. Might have some "meals" next week. Might treat myself to a bar next month.

I feel like the bars could be a slippery slope
for me... I prefer cutting all solids out.

Yes I know, not the healthiest diet long term.. I have no intention of gaining it all back. It's not for everybody, please be nice :) I need a kick start.

Hi everyone, I've been off here for a while- was feeling a bit rubbish that I lost the plot for a day or two- take out pizza etc!
However I managed to still lose 3lbs so my good efforts last week must've made a difference.
Just heading into week 5 and a total of 11.5lbs lost so far.
So inspiring to read all your updates. Great work everyone!!

LozBoz1972 · 05/02/2020 20:38

Hey @sunsetandcocktails

Well done on your loss - that is fantastic!

Anyone going through the ‘so not hungry stage’?

Oktopus123 · 05/02/2020 22:01

Lozboz1972 I’ve definitely noticed I’m not as hungry as I was and having a Cambridge squash really helps . Well done everyone keep going , soon be summer and we will feel so much better !

RedDhalia · 05/02/2020 22:35

Hi all!

Well done @sunsetandcocktails the hardest part after falling off the horse is getting back on it again.. so you've done really well!

I'm having some major issues weeing currently (TMI sorry), and giving how much I am drinking it's all starting to grate on me now. I think it's my medication as it's getting worse each day. I can literally sit there for 10 mins with a drip drip drip scenario going on. It's so frustrating. It's putting me off drinking as much, but I know that I need to. I also need to probably speak to someone about it before I can't wee at all.

I got the letter my consultant sent to my GP today, he has mentioned about focusing on loosing weight on it so it's made me determined to carry on. If I can avoid more surgery then I absolutely will do and the best way to help that is to loose the pounds.

Sorry, very self indulgent post tonight, just a tad fed up.. tomorrow is a new dawn!

Hey everyone
I have been looking for a forum for the one to one diet and finally found a recent one. I was hoping to share my tricks and tips. I just hit a month and I’m down over 12kgs which is just over 2 stones in a month. I have done the diet before when it used to be called the Cambridge diet about 5/6 years ago and lost 30kg but after having a child 4 years ago...no diet under the sun has been working for me. My body literally was born again after having a baby and didn’t want to loose any weight. I regrettably say I even done a 400 calorie a day diet which didn’t work either and also done keto and didn’t work. Even though I done keto years ago prior to having a child and it worked. It seems that after having a baby metobolism just died lol but since being on the one to one diet everything has changed but I have to say I am not following the rules completely and my consultant would kill me if she found out how I have been doing my diet. But I feel like you have to do what works for your body! Everyone’s body is different. So for instance something I have incorporated in the diet is..I started doing is fasting..started of with 18hrs and worked up to 48hrs through out the last month which has helped end immensely and ensured I don’t face any type of plateau which is the worst!!! I have also learned a few other tips and tricks that have really helped increase my metabolism!
My start weight was 138.6kg (21.8 st) I now weigh 127.6kg (19.9 st)
Goal weight is 75kg (11.8) I am really tall hence the high target weight.
Xx

Mexyy · 06/02/2020 00:29

@RedDhalia so sorry to hear about your situation! I also went through a huge problem in the first two weeks of my diet and it was horrendous! Not similar to yours but randomly getting urges to pee and uncontrollable urges where I had to run to the toilet and wouldn’t even make it sometimes. I ended up working from home to avoid any embarrassing situations. It has happened to me in the past too and gps don’t know why and always refer to my weight but they have been wrong! I have monitored my body and realised that whenever I super stressed my bladder becomes uncontrollable and even now when I don’t get the urges when I pee..I don’t feel like it has all come out if that makes sense. Sorry for the intense details but with all the water I drink I have realised that something to do with after giving birth. I literally have to push slightly to ensure all the urine comes out. I hope this helps xx

Allysan · 06/02/2020 20:58

Welcome @Mexyy, you’re doing amazing!

@RedDhalia doesn’t sound great, definitely get it checked out if it doesn’t improve, especially as this diet requires a lot of water.

Just wanted to say thanks for your support the other day when I was struggling, I pushed through and feeling much better! I don’t feel so hungry now but I do see food and want to eat it 😂 just come downstairs to see my other half watching a cooking show, some of the stuff 🤤🤤

Anyway it’s my first weigh in tomorrow and I’m worried about not losing. I did think about doing a blind weigh in but I have to know.

Hope everyone is having a great day 😊😊

Mexyy · 06/02/2020 21:14

@allysan thank you for the welcome xx

Don’t worry keep strong. After the first 10 days it will be a breeze don’t worry and hang in there. The thing that has kept my hunger at bay..is black coffee. I get amazing energy and it doubles the amount of weight loss too. I normally drink 3 cups a day but add some sweetener to it lol.
Do what suits you best but I recommend checking your weigh in..even if you loose a pound, you still lighter than you were before xxx let me know how you get on xxx

Delly1977 · 06/02/2020 21:17

Oooh @RedDhalia get to the doctor and have it checked out x

@allysan I think that's a normal feeling, I always worry I haven't lost.....I'd have smashed the bloody scales up Haha x You've got the hardest part over with now and I'm sure the scales will reward you.....let us know how you get on!

Allysan · 07/02/2020 14:32

Hey everyone, so I just got back from my weigh in and apart from my husband and consultant you lot are the only people who know I’m doing this so couldn’t wait to tell you. I lost 10lb and I’m over the moon.

Bring on next week. I know it won’t be a big a loss but it’s given me the drive to keep pushing forward. Couldn’t have done it without you all this week xxx

Mexyy · 07/02/2020 15:02

@allysan OMD that is amazing congratulations 🥳
Totally worth doing a non blind weigh in huh amazing work..Xx

Mexyy · 07/02/2020 15:06

I hit five weeks on Tuesday.. I really want to loose 4.5 lbs every week. Which a lot of people do hit those goals on cwp.

Delly1977 · 07/02/2020 16:25

Well done @Allysan you little beauty!!! You must be chuffed to bits. It's not easy but so worth it. Each day will be easier now.....keep going x

@Mexyy good luck...oh I'd love 4.5lb a week but my body doesnt comply! So I shall make do with that every fortnight.....I think I'll be here forever hahaha x

Mexyy · 07/02/2020 17:59

@Delly1977 lolll I feel the same way..but I cannot emphasise enough how intermittent fasting has helped and boosted my weight loss and so has black coffee.. how many weeks or days in are you? Xx

Honestly ladies we all chose an amazing time to start..we all should reach our goals or half way through our goals by summer...so regardless we should be feeling better and half the sizes we were! Xx

Mexyy · 07/02/2020 18:01

And if anyone would like more tips and tricks please let me know..and if you ever need motivation just search 80kg weight loss on Cambridge on you tube xxx

Delly1977 · 07/02/2020 18:31

@mexyy I am on week 4, my 3rd time of trying this plan. The first time I did really well but I panicked, I've always been fat and to lose 4+ stone so fast, psychologically I wasnt prepared. So i stopped and binged and binged...put it all back and more on over 5 years!

I'm starting the bloody menopause, my hormones are everywhere and my body holds on to the fat for dear life!

I started at 18st 9 and lost 9lb after 2 weeks on step 2, have moved down to step 1 for the last 2 weeks so will find out how I've done on Tuesday. My hubby is doing it too and its definitely helping me stick 100% to plan x

I have my products in a 7 hour window, between12 and 7pm but that's as far as the fasting goes....not sure I could do a full day...I am a real binger and I think it would make me crave all the good stuff.

What are you doing? Xx

RedDhalia · 07/02/2020 18:48

Well done @Allysan - phenomenal loss!!!

Welcome @Mexyy good to have you

So I weighed myself this morning and I'd put 4lb on.. I've not come off plan 🤷‍♀️ that's said I have, ahem, been a bit bunged up which has shifted today so I'm hoping tomorrow will be better!

LozBoz1972 · 07/02/2020 18:51

@Allysan - Congratulations - am sooooo pleased for you! All your hard work is paying off!

Day 12 for me today - gosh I am struggling..... Have the worst cravings for sugar 😕 gone from not being hungry to wanting sugar... Haven’t given in yet but I think it’s going to be a bath and bed soon.

@Mexyy I’m going to try your coffee tip. Might try a bit of fasting too. I normally have my first product at 12.30, 2nd at 5pm and 3rd around 7ish. Week 2 weigh in on Monday...... Just need to get through tonight....

Allysan · 07/02/2020 19:50

Thanks all, good luck @Mexyy fingers crossed for you.

I’ve been and bought some flavoured tea today to have a bit of variation to my water intake x

Mexyy · 07/02/2020 21:16

@delly97

Sounds like a journey I am familiar with. But honestly you made it through a month so hardest part is over. There is no going back and keep at it. Your journey literally describes my life.

.I have done Cambridge before about few years ago and lost 30kg ...put it all back on..then done Atkins now known as keto and lost 30kg again as whenever I come off a diet I always don’t do weight management after ! Which is my downfall.. after having a child 4 years ago..no diet under the sun has worked for me..so I came back to Cambridge and so happy with the results..especially as age plays a huge role..the older we get the harder it is for weight to burn off and I was dreading that..
I also have been fat all my life but always lost the weight every two years and then put back on..when I decided to start I had never weighed this heavy in my life..I am tall so it balances out a bit but I’m still huge.

.I’m used to Weighing myself in KG unfortunately lol but in stones I started at 21.8 stone and I am now at week 4 day 3 and weighed myself this morning at 19.8 stone but I consume my shakes according to how my days goes. At the moment I’m working from home so if I know I am not Going to the office or doing much activity that day ...I won’t have 3 shakes..and will only have 2 or even sometimes just 1...

That being said..normally I am a FULL on BINGER...and especially in the evening..and before I sleep..I used to eat double portions of dinner..and finish of with a tub of Ben and Jerry’s...it’s so strange never confessed my food sins before..lol but literally coffee has taken my appetite away..and if I don’t have coffee it appetite comes back.. if I didn’t drink coffee I wouldn’t be able to fast..

But the 7 hour slot your doing is amazing..if can bring to 6 hour it would be better..and your soooooooo lucky to have a partner doing it with you..sooo much support and less cravings lol... xxx

Mexyy · 07/02/2020 21:17

@RedDhalia don’t worry it’s just the water weight from the meal you had at the hospital..don’t pay attention to it..just drink tons of water over the next few days..for it to pass and you will be back on track xx

Mexyy · 07/02/2020 21:22

@LozBoz1972
Ahhhhhhhh sweetheart your nearly at day 14...and I promise you it does get easier..once you hit that mark..you won’t want to throw away that hard work of two weeks away..stay focused(very easy to say I know) but you got past the hardest part which is the 1st 7days... and YESSS I definitely recommend black coffee it will change your life..and no more cravings..do black coffee first for a few days then start on fasting in week 2... You will be surprised where your hunger is gone..

and now..and I don’t know why..but I’m literally not interested in eating..all I want to do is cook and feed people lol anyone feel like this?

Mexyy · 07/02/2020 21:29

@Allysan great work! Teas also count to your water count too so that’s amazing work..

The only way I get through my daily water intake is two things..
I literally tested Asda’s, Tesco’s, Sainsbury’s and other supermarkets water to find the best water taste..I personally love Volvic..and Tesco’s water literally taste exactly like it.. and second thing I done is I started buying the smaller bottles of water and making sure I drink 5 a day..I know it’s not eco friendly and will be finding another way..but I feel that when you have a large bottle of water..it’s so demotivating knowing how much you have to get through in one large bottle and I feel the taste in mouth from doing CWP literally causes the water to change the taste..where as smaller bottle are fresh every time you open them

I hope this helped xx

Allysan · 08/02/2020 18:17

Think I’ve had a glitch, seeing messages I didn’t see yesterday.

@LozBoz1972 keep at it, one day at a time. You’ve got this!!

I’ve got a really bad bread craving, it’s all I can think about, I picked up a lovely bloomer from the shop for the rest of the house and it’s smells amazing 😩 But I’m going to enjoy my slice of bread sensibly when I’ve reached my target. The food will always be there but this is our time to rock it!!!

@RedDhalia our weight changes day by day doing this diet so please don’t think to much of it. You had a tricky day this week and you did really well considering. Just keep moving forward and drink lots

@Mexyy I’m a big coffee drinker, always have been. Just now without the milk and it doesn’t bother me. Enjoying my teas too. I’m drinking at least 3 litres a day, probably closer to 4

@Delly1977 I eat my 3 products between 12 and 8 so very similar. Working so far for me.

Tonight I’m having cottage pie. I’ve been told to eat with my mouth and not my eyes, so looking forward to see what it looks like 😂

Allysan · 08/02/2020 18:49

Verdict of the cottage pie

Looks like

Tastes alright 👍
