Got back from hols last Saturday and promised I would start weight lose on Monday. Got into work on Tuesday to find a large tin of biscuits on the desk. Not good. Thought I would try Mumsnet for moral support and found out everyone started without me.
I'm 44 years (Jane Fonda where are you now!) 12 stones 5'6 and need to join in with others to lose the flab. Have 3 year old and work part-time 3 days a week, in a Yukky job. Anyone want to join me?
What get advice on losing weight mainly using exrcise as I really love my food
With a little support I might be able to diet too.

Congratulations on weight loss, wuzzlefraggle. I know what you mean by telling yourself off - the thing is it's hard to loose weight but it's harder to maintain what you've achieved. I do the same, the moment I'm winning I do something I regret. let's try to learn from our mistakes

wuzzlefraggle · 25/08/2008 14:46

yeah, thanks fedda.

I will do my best now not to make that mistake again. It's difficult.

So, I will now refrain (as best I can lol) from snacking and evil, evil take aways

clean slate as of now. Hopefully I won't have gained when I weigh sunday coming.

wuzzlefraggle · 25/08/2008 14:46

In fact I doubt I would have gained. I'mm be sure to behave for the rest of the week and drink water all the time

fedda · 25/08/2008 15:13

I'm really sorry to say I don't think drinking water all the time helps me although swapping juice for water for my meals does. What helps me is snacking on fruit, veg and berries but I suppose everyone has different things which help.

wuzzlefraggle · 25/08/2008 16:28

yeah. I think that I was just weak willed when dh suggested an evil domino's . Anyway, It's out of my system now so I won't be craving it lol, so I can just concentrate on being good again

Fimbles5 · 25/08/2008 17:33

I'm still in holiday mode!! Had a really bad day foodwise, lots of biscuits and muffin for dinner. Congratulations wuzzle on your loss, at least someone is doing well out of us. Have just been shopping and bought loads of fruit and veg and am planning to start as of NOW!! Salad awaits for tea. I think we need to set ourselves a new goal - mine is going to be half a stone by the end of September, I feel this is realistic and long term I would like to have lost a stone or more by Christmas (that I know should be easy) - at least that way I can have a really good chrimbo without worrying about food. What are your goals guys??

wuzzlefraggle · 25/08/2008 18:02

right, my goal is to be between 9 and 9 1/2 stone by crimbo. which should be just over a stone to lose ish...

My first little goal is to beat through that 10 stone barrier by the end of september which should be easily do-able if I behave lol

fedda · 25/08/2008 18:10

To get back to where I was when I lost 7 kg and then may be loose another 1 kg will be realistic for the end of September, I think.

wuzzlefraggle · 27/08/2008 18:53

Hi all.

I've been good today OHHH, and you know how I was worried because I had been a bit crappy with my food earlier in the week? well I weighed and I've not gained - instead I have lost another pound - odd or what????!

Fimbles5 · 27/08/2008 21:26

Well done Wuzzle. Keep up the good work. I can't seem to get my head into this dieting lark at the moment. I go through phases of doing really well and then it all goes to pot. I have come to the conclusion that although you shouldn't keep putting it off, I will see this week through as best I can and then hopefully next week when the kids are back at school healthy eating will be easier. In the meantime I am trying my best to limit all the bad stuff, in the hope I can at least maintain my current weight and not gain. Keep posting, I need to hear all the positive posts in order to remain focused.

kidsrus · 30/08/2008 07:52

Fimbles5 · 01/09/2008 07:36

Hey Fedda/Kidsrus - Can you believe it that we have been here a year!! Well overall although I have been really negative over the last few months I have still lost one and half stone, so that can't be too bad can it?? So now we have new friends on here to help motivate and who can motivate us for another good year. I am starting today, a new year and a new me. Good Luck everyone & Congratulations Wuzzle on the new job - Hope to catch up soon. X

wuzzlefraggle · 01/09/2008 17:22

Hi aaaalll

Thanks Fimbles! Hows u?

Right, I now have the energy to post. Have been pretty good really, though thats probably because I just don't have much time to eat anything at the new job lol. I'm always on my feet doing something!

How is everyone else doing? Will weigh tomorrow and see how I've done.

Fimbles5 · 02/09/2008 08:04

Wuzzle - I want your job!! If it means I don't eat anything. Well I started properly yesterday and it went really well, didn't feel hungry and kept to my points. Even resisted choccies!! Day 2 today with a view to that half a stone by the end of September. Have you done your weigh in Wuzzle??

fedda · 02/09/2008 08:18

Hi, girls. I'm here all the way. Let's try the best!

littlemisschatalot · 02/09/2008 08:25

hello. cani join in?
i'm 5 ft 1, 10st3, and neeed to lose at least a stone. i did it after my 2nd LO was born, lost 3 stone 12 to get to goal. over 3 years its just crept on, especia\lly after a particularly boozy summer.
i joined virgin active gym yesterday and so am hoping following WW at home and gym classes 4xper week, i can get to 9stone or xmas.
good luck everyone!

wuzzlefraggle · 02/09/2008 18:33

Hiya LMC and welcome 5ft7 here and 10st5 (I want to lose about a stone to a stone and a half ish by Xmas, first goal is to beat past that 10 stone barrier by the end of September)

Fimbles, yeah I've done my weigh in and I've not lost anything, I'm the same!! My fault tho, Monday and Tuesday I was starving after not being able to eat properly over the weekend, so I've sort of eaten what I've felt like. Damn. Back on the straight and narrow me thinks lol

Hows it going for you Fedda?

fedda · 02/09/2008 21:42

I keep postponning weighing myself. I've never thought I would as I used to weigh myself twice or even three times a day. So, I'm hopeful as long as I don't know...

Fimbles5 · 03/09/2008 20:26

Fedda - How do you manage not to weigh yourself. I am still jumping on those scales 2-3 times a day. I can't seem to help myself. Mind you, they always say what you don't know can't hurt you, and the fact that you are feeling happy in yourself, must mean that your healthy eating regime is going o.k. Well done you. Wuzzle - It is so disheartening when you stay the same and I know from experience that you will not want to hear me say "At least you didn't gain"! - If you are anything like me you will already have heard it. But what I can say, also from experience is stick with it and the results will show next week. As for me typing an essay to avoid reaching for the biscuit tin, but so fare had three good days so hopefully am back on track for a loss this week. Keep smiling everyone.

kidsrus · 03/09/2008 21:47

welcome to all the new comers this is my fav thread everyone on it has supported me in the last year and look set to be there for me again.

Thanks all! eyes down here we go!again.

My promise starting tomo is drink more water and fruit tea.
porridge for breakie, salad for lunch and veg with fish for tea and i have stocked the cupboard with snacks for the evening EG pink & whites, snack a jacks, riveta minis etc in case i feel the need.

good luck to you all.
we can do it!

fedda · 03/09/2008 22:59

Well, I don't know how I manage, I surprised myself but I think I just get so busy getting ready to go out of the house that by the time i remember to weigh myself I'm already in clothes so it wouldn't be accurate reading anyway. And you're right, Fimbles, I don't know and sometimes it's best not to know how much I put on as I don't always eat healthily althoug i try

kidsrus · 05/09/2008 20:42

well how are we doing peeps it's all gone quiet.
so far so good
today i had porridge, fruit, salmon salad with l/f coleslaw, veg soup with sesame and poppy seed crackers.
2 coffees with 1 and a milky way as a sin.
tonight i have 3 baskets of ironing so wont think of eating hopefully!
i hope to lose a stone by christmas!

fedda · 05/09/2008 22:29

Good luck, kidrus. I also had poridge today (with grapes and strawberries + honey). I'm hungry at the moment though.

Fimbles5 · 07/09/2008 21:48

Hi everyone - How was the weekend. I have a question for you all - I had a good weekend foodwise and do not want to ruin my good week, but I have now gone down with the worst cold ever!! Is it possible to have a cold and not feed it?? For some reason I now feel like eating for Britain just because when I was younger Mum used to say you had to feed a cold to feel better!!!
