Got back from hols last Saturday and promised I would start weight lose on Monday. Got into work on Tuesday to find a large tin of biscuits on the desk. Not good. Thought I would try Mumsnet for moral support and found out everyone started without me.
I'm 44 years (Jane Fonda where are you now!) 12 stones 5'6 and need to join in with others to lose the flab. Have 3 year old and work part-time 3 days a week, in a Yukky job. Anyone want to join me?
What get advice on losing weight mainly using exrcise as I really love my food
With a little support I might be able to diet too.

Well, My day has been ok with the diet...not to bad and not too great

Sunday will be my first weigh in, eeek

MrsBates · 15/08/2008 21:21

Can I join too? Sem to have put on a stone for each baby and not lost it so now have three to lose. Diet is pretty good but I need to move about more. Beina bridesmaid just before Christmas and even a few pounds less will make me feel so much better. I'm with you ladies but not starting until first week of Sept because off on holiday tomorrow. Good luck everyone!

MrsBates · 15/08/2008 21:23

Ps About to eat Thai takeway. Not good really is it?!

Look forward to support from you all and vice versa - think it's a great idea to have this on Mums Net.

fedda · 15/08/2008 22:21

Welcome, MrsBates. It's very nice of you to join us. We have ups and downs but what we really do well is we support each other. I have been really good up to deciding to have my favourite real vanilla ice cream with blueberries, well, blueberries is a healthy food but as for the ice cream otherwise I had plenty of grapes, blueberries, 2 bananas, home made fish cakes with home made french fries, soup with 2 rolls - white and then whole meal. i'm having thai food tomorrow so sounds like I'll be having similar things with you, MrsBates. I need to excersise more although I did walk for a bit (around 2 hours today). I hope you have a lovely time, Fimbles. I'm missing you. How are you doing today, wuzzlefraggle? Let's all try after the wekend. Good luck with your weghing tomorrow.

wuzzlefraggle · 15/08/2008 23:06

Hi Fedda and WELCOME to the thread MrsBates! I've not been on this thread for long but I'm loving it and it's a very supportive thread too

Well, today I went for meal at lunch time (gran was 81 on tuesday so it was part of her birthday presents from me and DH - I swear she still looks like she's in her 60s!) and I had a white baguette (I could of murdered a steak lol) with ham in with a few chips. Not great but I did manage to resist any desert. Had white toast for breakfast and later on in the evening had pizza (ok not great at all). BUT i did do exercise in the form of me walking and pushing dd in the pram to my grans house this morning (20 mins) and taking dd to the park for a run around too.

I need to stock up the fridge with fruit tomorrow. I blame the lack of grapes etc for my slip into the horrid pizza territory!!

My number one weigh in on sunday!!

fedda · 16/08/2008 10:56

20 minutes exsersise is great, wuzzlefraggle. You are right, grapes help - that's what I'm having for breakfast along with blueberries and a cup of tea.

wuzzlefraggle · 16/08/2008 11:26

Thanks Fedda. Was really dissapointed with the things I ate yesterday. So today I'm seeing as a clean slate. Been doing a proper "spring" clean of the house today since 9:30 lol. Well, one thing for that is that it takes my mind off of junk food!

Have just stopped for a second to post here

Hows things going with you Fedda?

fedda · 16/08/2008 15:40

I had some food in Thai so not bril but not too bad as I didn't have pudding and opted for steamed fish for mains. I'm going to have more grapes with a cupo of tea now with raspberries I've just bought in a market. We had a nice walk out today so I gues it's not a bad day (it's not over yet so who knows?)Thank you for asking, wuzzlefraggle x

fedda · 16/08/2008 18:38

Hi, kidrus, it's good to hear from you. Welcome back from holidays.

kidsrus · 16/08/2008 18:52

hi fedda how have you been keeping?
i have missed you and this thread so much just lately and i intend to get back to regularly updating on here.
are you enjoying the hols and fantastic lie ins?

wuzzlefraggle · 16/08/2008 19:09

Hiya Kidsrus (I'm a thread newbie but Fedda has given me a very welcoming welcome lol). Must admit, I'm already pretty addicted to this thread - it's lovely having people to talk to that understand what it's like with dieting (and sometimes being a bit rubbish at it).

It sounds like you really enjoyed your hols (which is how it should be!!!

Well, I've been good today. Made sure I stocked up on fruit with the shopping today, so I have no excuse for bad snacking. I am back on the right path lol

kidsrus · 16/08/2008 19:42

well done and welcome fuzzle.
we are all human and make slip ups (most of the time)he he
its all about perserverence and maintaining.
losses are fantastic but gaining is a no no (except for high days and holidays)
hope we are all still here next september for continual support.

fedda · 16/08/2008 21:09

Yes, kidrus, it's nice to have hols and not to rush to school every morning and day but that also means more temptations. Still, we'll put it right in September and we'll have some time before Christmas so I think we'll all be smiling and exchanging the tips how we became loosers. The beaty of this thread is no matter what - lost or gain, we are here to support each other. I'm so happy to have found so many nice friends. Thank you, everyone.

fedda · 16/08/2008 21:10

oops, I meant the beauty of this thread.

wuzzlefraggle · 16/08/2008 21:22

Thanks to you too fedda

Actually feel a little nervous about tomorrow (stupid or what??!). I'm going to count that as my start weight and from then on weigh myself every Sunday to see what the (hopeful) losses are. Think that makes sense

fedda · 16/08/2008 22:19

Whatever works for you, wuzzlefraggle. There is no one rule which will work for everybody. Good luck for tomorrow but whatever happens I'm sure all of us on this thread will be there for you. x

wuzzlefraggle · 17/08/2008 20:50

Right, I did the almighty weigh in today (this is how will work best for me), and I'm 10 st 7 at present (not as bad as I was expecting!!) So now will have to see what my weekly progress is.

Today has been a good one. Had a crumpet and bowl of mixed berries (blueberries, strawberries and grapes) for breakfast, small amount of chicken breast, carrots, peas, broc for lunch (with a minute amount - about 2 table spoons - of gravy lol), more berries for a snack and a slice of bread with a small amount (100g which is 127 cals) of a tomato and veggie pasta salad for tea.

I have manage to resist the cream and jam scone in the fridge!! (and the GORGEOUS looking doughnut with jam and cream in it). I'm pretty proud of myself today.

Hows things going for all else?

BornToRun · 18/08/2008 09:26

Hello everyone, well my venture into the 'diet/exercise' thread has been/will be brief I think. Have been on a few days trip to London with the dcs and have eaten absolute rubbish, got home yesterday to find I have a hospital date for a week Tuesday for surgery that could put me out of exercise action for between 6 weeks and four months depending on what they find, will keep an eye on this thread but don't feel will have anything useful/positive to contribute for a while. Wishing everyone luck and of course weight loss.

wuzzlefraggle · 18/08/2008 09:35

Hi BornToRun, was wondering about you lol. Hope that all goes well with the hospital appointment, please be sure to let us all know how it goes. And please feel free to still post on here hun You're more than welcome to even if all you need to do is have a good gripe

fedda · 18/08/2008 09:38

Brilliant results, wuzzlefraggle. My warmest congratulations. Good luck, BorntoRun. I was good yesterday for a change having fruit, fish, boiled potatoes, stir fried vegies, I had a little pudding but still I feel I've done well. Today is just starting. let's all try, girls.

wuzzlefraggle · 18/08/2008 10:37

Hey, well done to you too fedda! That is great!!

I've got a good feeling about today, I think we'll all do well . So far so good, have a breakfast of a crumpet and bowl of fruit again which is low in calorie, yay!

fedda · 18/08/2008 10:58

Two white toasts with butter and tea with 1 sugar - not great so far, I'm afraid.

wuzzlefraggle · 18/08/2008 21:29

It's ok fedda, not that bad! chin up. How has the rest of your day been?

Mine has been good today. Had chicken in a balti sauce (low calorie and low fat). Instead of having it with a mountain of rice though I had it with lettuce and about a table spoon of rice, so that was a pretty good and healthy meal.

No snacking at all And the doughnut remains in the fridge!! Wish dh would just eat it lol
