congrats to all those "weightloosers"
dang, i wished i was in that group!
but it's not going well at the moment

what diet do you all do?

admittingly i am not doing a diet at all! well, i try to change my eating habits - not really successfull
i cut out all those goodies for breakfast (croissans, pain ou choc., - all gone!) only wholemeal bread anymore (i actually like it ) - and started to order large veggies organic box for ds (weaning) that makes me eat more veggies too! and since you can't really choose which ones you want, made me come up with new recipes. there are actually some really nice dishes out there besides roast and pasta

i even lost everything i put on in pg (44lb; incl. lo ) - but now i am stuck
i admit i let it slip a bit though, i do like my cornetto (didn't have one in 2 days!!!!!)
and i am just a pasta fan

and i know i need to do some exercise (besides carrying lo around all day )
i try to fit in a walk every day but oh boy is that a major project with a 5month old

so what are your ways to loose weight?

oh and champs: what dances do you like???

woodpops · 13/10/2004 09:47

It's not just one diet on here. I think we're all doing different ones.

champs · 14/10/2004 00:43

hi susi, woodpops is right we all do different diets, I am loosely following WW. I like all kinds of dances.

TraceyP--- Not sure if you still look at threads, Please dont leave. How's your dieting going??

Yep essbee our bodies are programmed to respond to eating less by using less energy and slowing our metabolism down. So the less you eat the less you lose and the slower it is. Sounds mad but is true. Try eating properly and exercising! The exercise will speed up your metabolism.

Hope you are ok and welcome party girl!

Join a gym essbee it helps get rid of depression as well and makes you feel as though you are taking care of yourself. Or take up jogging or just walking in parks every other day. Alternatively get yourself an exercise video and do that (I have never been great at these though as I need to get out)

PS Wine is not a great food you know and shouldnt count as a food calorie but as an extra!

esbee-- must agree with others, Your bady is prob grabbing onto what ever food it gets as it asumes it is in starvation mode. I'm not sure how much cals you should be having, but it seems to loose 1lb a week you need to take 500 less.

glitter--- lol, thats more like it.

WigWamBam · 17/10/2004 18:27

Sorry to butt in uninvited but I was once told by a Rosemary Conley instructor that, as a general rule of thumb, a dieter should probably eat 100 calories a day for each stone of body weight, up to about 1800 calories. So, 15 stone = 1500 calories, 18 stone = 1800 calories. Otherwise your body goes into starvation mode and hoards fat.

So Esbee - go and get some food!!

I'll bugger off again now.

I was only quoting the rough guide that RC uses, just to encourage Esbee to eat a bit more! Perhaps it only works when you've got huge amounts to lose like me! I'm not claiming it's right, just trying to make the point that you can eat too little. Didn't want to cause any offence.

WigWamBam · 17/10/2004 19:44

And what I thought I'd said in my message but didn't is that no-one on an RC diet eats less than 1400 calories. That's why it looks as if I don't know what I'm talking about.

Sorry. I really am going now!
