Forgot to ask!

How is everyone else getting on?

Last week was very motivational with lots of good weight losses so I'm very keen to find out how you all got on this week

woodpops · 15/11/2004 14:10

Hi soapbox. I've not seen you around for ages. Well done you. How much have you done now??

Last weekend I discovered how to make a meal pack into a sludgie browine so had a chocolate brownie with chocolate ice cream. It was yum and I felt so naughty eating it!!!!!!

bran · 15/11/2004 14:29

Hi Woodpops and Soapbox - aren't you both doing amazingly well? I'm having a bit of a lax couple of weeks, I've been really busy at work so I haven't had time to exercise much, plus there was the cough mixture debacle plus I've been out to dinner twice in the last 4 days and am out for leaving drinks tonight. I'm 14 points over so far this week and I don't think I'll have much chance to claw it back before weigh-in on Wednesday .

I think part of the problem is that I haven't had time to come and talk to you lot very much (with work and entertaining and other stuff), I do find it very motivating to hear how you all are getting on. Nevermind, the drive to loose loads before Christmas starts now! [determined smiley]

How's everyone else doing?

woodpops · 15/11/2004 15:56

It's such a hard time of year to stick to a diet isn't it bran?? I must admit I've been very close to turning to food for comfort this weekend with all the cr@p that's happening at the moment!!!!!

monkeygirl · 15/11/2004 22:11

Hello all - have been catching up with MN tonight and see I have missed some bun fights (good job cos buns are off the menu for me ). Wow Woodpops and Soapbox - you are doing well (understatement of the year) - are you both really not eating an Xmas dinner then?

Bran - wot, you have a RL . Well I guess we on this thread are here because we all have had/have plenty of bad times with the good so don't despair, just look at how much weight is still being lost despite all the many blips. Just get back to it, alright!

I lost 4 lbs this week. I kind of feel I cheated cos I decided to kick-start things with 5 days on the Atkins (that's all I can stand). I didn't give up diet drinks or caffeine or wine - ahem - and ate the equivalent of a herd of cows but it does seem to work for me. I think a lot of it is probably water-loss but it has spurred me on so I hope not to put it all back on after having eaten carbs (pasta and broccoli today and a handful of chips - yum!).

I'd love to know just how much weight people have lost - I'm just gobsmacked at the amounts I do know about. Hey I want to join your gang!

champs · 16/11/2004 00:55

hi all!! how are you all?? woodpops and soapbox, well done.
woodpops--- that is so good, what a lovely feeling. you'll be in those combats in no time rate you're going. did you try them on? they prob fit already.
bran--- dont know how you're gonna pull back enpugh for wed but you can prob ballance out for next week. Have a few no point and low point bits to help.
have had a rocky week and this weekend i hade some iced maderia cake... everyday, oh well i will point it and deduct the points by dividing it by 7 and either earning the points back or just minus it from daily allowance.... we will see the damage on wednesday
essbee how are you?? glitter- are you ok my hun?

PuffTheMagicDragon · 16/11/2004 09:27

Have lost 3 and a quarter pounds this week - that's about 36 pounds since I started and as I just realised on another thread, I've got 81 pounds to lose before I get to my target weight, so I've conquered just over a quarter of my personal Everest! Bloody hell, its hard work though. HOW did I put all this weight on in the first place? It's not like I've been sitting on my *rse doing nothing for the past 4 years!

woodpops · 16/11/2004 10:03

Well done puff. Don't think too much about what you've got to loose. Just focus on what you've lost. I blame having the kids and a happy life for my huge gain in weight. But I wouldn't be without either of them.

Last week my BMI came out of Obese and into overweight. THat was a fab feeling

PuffTheMagicDragon · 16/11/2004 10:49

That's brilliant woodpops, another milestone you have achieved! .

woodpops · 16/11/2004 11:52

Oooh, I'm sooooooooooooooo excited. Just got a recipe to make chicken crisps with one of my foodpacks. Yum, yum.

bran · 16/11/2004 21:43

Woodpops , you probably ought to get a life. It'll be a real taste sensation when you go back to proper food won't it?

I'm feeling really grumpy and in the mood for something sugary - I think it might be TOTM. Fortunately there's nothing sugary in the house, and dh cooked me a really huge, low-point, delicious dinner with spelt noodles and lots of veg, so I'm (just) getting by without stuffing my face. But if Champs was standing in front of me with that iced madeira she would be empty-handed in 2 seconds flat.

I have found a wonderful dietary aid though - I was introduced to Jeffrey Archer at the weekend and everytime I think about it I feel a bit nauseous. So now I'm picturing his face on cakes and biscuits to try and get me past this sugar craving.

Keep going Puff - that's a great weightloss so far, and even though your final target might still be a while every single pound off counts on your way and you'll be looking little bit better and feeling a little bit healthier with every week that passes.

champs · 17/11/2004 02:03

puff--- that is brilliant, you are doing do well, agree with woodpops, think about all the hard work you have put in and the huge amount you have lost. I am very proud of you (sound slightly maternal there!!) you have motivated me today, tyvm!!
woodpops--- lol, chicken crisps eh, let us know how it tastes. I t is a good idea to make these recipes(sp?) as it will stop it being boring and also get you feeling you are eating something.
bran-- you do make me laugh. I am trying oh so hard to behave but that is sooooo funny!! lololol bet you haven't wanted a bickie all day

glitterfairy · 17/11/2004 16:57

HIya Champs darling! I cant keep up with this part of the site these days! every time I go away its as though I have been gone for months and trying to find replies to what I have said is taking ages. Oh well. Maybe I should come on more often.

Anyway, I am fine and went to the gym this morning and had a really good workout.

Well done to everyone. There are so many posotive people on here. Such a great weight loss too. I find it really inspiring reading through all these storys.
I missed my weigh in this week. Have been ill and not able to get out of the house. I'm very posotive this week though cause my pre pregnancy clothes now fit and my clothes seem to drop off me. Will definatly go to weigh in on tues. I'm actually loooking forward to it. I cant weigh myself at home as i dont have any scales. I'm also scared of weighing m,yself on other scales just in case they are different to the ww ones.

glitterfairy · 18/11/2004 19:58

There is some serious weight loss going on and then there is me just mucking about at the moment but still being fit and going to the gym! So dont feel too bad. Hiya champs darling how are you doing?

dior!! size 12??? OMGosh you must be so pleased. well done. you are doing so well.
jnbsmum-- isn't it a lovely feeling when your clothes get bigger!!
Glitter--- Hiya I am doing ok at the moment. still a bit down and had a run in with a HORRID cab man but am still trying to keep my chin (or should that be chins)up.

monkeygirl · 18/11/2004 22:31

Thought I'd pop my head in and see how everyone is doing.

JnbSmum - that must be a big thrill - well done. How far are you off your target weight then?

Dior - I don't think I've ever been a size 12 - well done.

Champs - grr at cab man - were you in the cab at the time?

Am having an ok week but a bad day today for no particular reason (wine and chocolate, oh dear). But at least I didn't buy any naughty things at Tescos today (well apart from the wine but that doesn't count - god do I sound like an alchie now??)

champs · 18/11/2004 22:40

was in cab at time, then in tesco's (waiting for change) then he followed me on bus

monkeygirl · 18/11/2004 22:41

He didn't follow you to give you grief did he???

bran · 18/11/2004 22:47

I hope I'm not ruining the positive mood - but I put on 1 lb at last nights weigh-in. I know why - I ate too much and exercised too little, so naturally I went to my book group tonight and ate too much and didn't exercise at all today (sigh). Still at least I'm still tracking my points (which is how I know I ate too much last week), and I've managed to keep within my points yesterday and today. Surprisingly I'm not particularly depressed about it, at least it's now very clear that when I keep to my points I lose and when I go over my points I gain.

Well done to everyone else though - it's great to have good news. Essbee, nice to see you back, have the videos turned up yet? Keep up with the good food, your body needs nutrition with all you're going through. Champs, you should have used your weight to your advantage and sat on the cab driver , I'm sure whatever it was was nothing to do with you really, he was obviously socially inept and horribly rude, because you are charming and always, always in the right. Glitter I should be more like you and go to the gym, I know it's not enough just to limit my food intake, and I did feel much better when I was getting lots of exercise. I really must get back to it. Dior and jnbsmum at your clothes dropping off you, mine still fit around my tummy despite my loosing 18 lbs. Everyone else, wow, keep up the good work.

monkeygirl · 18/11/2004 22:58

Bran - we're not all doing so well but you are - 18lbs is excellent so I'm glad you're not going to let a little pound get you down - at least you're back on track now.
