Lose in November

Following on from the previous monthly loss threads, here’s November’s thread. I’ve omitted goal specifics of a certain number of lbs because as we’ve seen we are losing at different rates or maintaining. We need to create our own eating plan that is sustainable, enjoyable and provides all the nutrients we need to be healthy. It isn’t about extremes.

These threads are becoming quite holistic in nature and offer support to enable everyone to build & maintain emotional resilience and good mental health which undoubtedly underpins healthy eating habits and lifestyle. That said, we mustn’t forget we are human and with that comes fallibility ..... It’s at those times the support on these threads is second to none. The support I’ve seen on these threads (and personally benefitted from 🙏) is awesome. I’ve not once seen any unkind or harsh posts. You’ve all been awesome 👏.

Wow, only 66 days until 2020. So much can be achieved in that time and we could be greeting the New Year with renewed optimism, feeling happier and somewhat healthier.

@SunshineCake gosh you’re in the wars. Have a strong sweet tea or a stiff drink!

@ConfusedAndStressed95 don’t envy you. Hope it goes ok!

Thank you @BustedDreams.

@ConfusedAndStressed95 - can we help? Just going to do some jobs but will check back later. Take care.

ConfusedAndStressed95 · 29/11/2019 14:16

@BustedDreams, thanks. He’s a reasonable guy so it shouldn’t be too bad but it’s not going to be the highlight of my week.
@SunshineCake, sometimes it really really seems like he’s into me and is really weird. In the space if two days he’s bit my hand twice first because I fed him a sweet and the second because my hand was near his face. We often cross the boundaries of what’s normal and if either of us were dating anyone they’d be suspicious and unhappy with our behaviour so we either need to stop and alter our interaction or try dating. And I don’t know how I feel about that or he will feel about that.

SunshineCake · 29/11/2019 17:07

Your friend bit your hand @ConfusedAndStressed95..

If so, he is no friend and you need to take action.

Galvantula · 29/11/2019 19:19

Hi all.

Nothing exciting to report, been eating ok and maintained my 59kg.

I'm having fun emailing about my step tracker busted. It's stopped syncing and I'm panicking I'll lose my data.

I keep getting replies from different folk trying to be helpful but not reading each others replies 😂

Galvantula · 29/11/2019 19:21

@ConfusedAndStressed95 today doesn't sound like a good friend. Confused :(

Galvantula · 29/11/2019 19:21

*that

fallfallfall · 29/11/2019 21:47

Confused, biting is certainly crossing a boundary. positive thoughts the conversation goes better than expected.
Busted no celery or carrots in the house and at -12C i'm not going out till this evening at the track.

so used this recipe instead, used milk vs cream and honey (since we own that in abundance) and portioned it into 9 servings (vs the recommended 6).
dh is working on the fireplace/mantel area so no decorating happening today...but thanks to his work i will be scrubbing the floors...
more details as to the color scheme tomorrow (i'll take a photo) i have about 40 years worth of small ornaments and various bits but i do throw stuff out and give stuff away. some of the mantel garland video's make it look like a huge job...right now i'm not planning on buying special hooks.

BustedDreams · 29/11/2019 22:19

@fallfallfall looking forward to seeing your pics tomorrow:)

Hi @Galvantula great to hear your maintain! Is your tracker data not backed up on your app? Hope you get it sorted soon.

@ConfusedAndStressed95 biting doesn’t sound very good or very nice either! Stay safe !

@SunshineCake, @Galvantula, @fallfallfall, it wasn't in a nasty way and it didn't hurt and if I'd have been upset or bothered by it he would have been horrified and apologized immediately. He's lovely and very sweet and safe. The first time with the sweet was an accident but, it was funny and he was very amused at how shocked I was as he didn't intend it but then he worried that I was actually upset so we cleared that up because I wasn't annoyed it just wasn't something that he'd done before. The second time when he bit me I wasn't bothered or upset because it didn't hurt it just surprised me, we'd been doing jelly shots with two of my housemates and another friend and he and I can get silly and we wind each other up a lot. So we'd already spent a lot of time tickling/wrestling/prodding each other and he'd been patting my leg so I'd spent a considerable amount of time holding his hand/hands to stop him, much to the amusement of my housemates and friend. But he does thing where he makes his eyes cross in weird ways and maintains eye contact with me and it looks really creepy so I put my hand near but not on his face so I couldn't see him without moving his head, which is something that I thought he would do but instead he very slowly and deliberately moved and bit my hand. Well more accurately gently held the side of my hand in his teeth. I think he was almost as surprised as I was when he did it. But he went very giggly and pink and thought my surprise was hysterical and I also think he was a little embarrassed that the others had seen him do that. It was one of those things that you can see whats going to happen but you let it happen and I'm not sure why I allowed it because I could have moved my hand but I didn't.

I just know that our boundaries are incredibly blurred and if either he or I were dating someone they would be very upset and uncomfortable with our relationship. So something needs to change because we can't continue like this as it's going to affect other relationships we have so we need to accept that it's a bit abnormal and clarify what our boundaries and behavior should be as friends or accept that it's abnormal and consider that we should attempt at least one date. But I am really worried about how that will come across and what his response to that will be as I don't want to lose his friendship.

ConfusedAndStressed95 · 29/11/2019 23:35

@BustedDreams, he'd never hurt me and there was no mark at all. I think we were both surprised by it.

ConfusedAndStressed95 · 30/11/2019 01:43

I have also just signed up for a kickboxing class on monday. I'm also planning on joining the gym. I have however ate very poorly today. I've ate 1/4 of a large 4 portion pork pie, homemade beef and many bean chili and rice (so not too bad) with cheese and sour cream, three large slices of mild spiced salami a hot chocolate and a hot chocolate with cream and a grilled chicken breast.

Tomorrow my housemates L and J and I and my friend mentioned above are having a wine and cheese night at home so many many calories because of the wine, cheese, crackers, bread sticks and bread. I'll also be providing grapes, celery sticks, carrot sticks, cucumber sticks, dips and deli meats so I'll need to join a gym now more than ever Grin

Morning All

In my part of world (UK) it’s a beautifully sunny and crisp morning. Ground frost looks very pretty! It makes a change from all the mist and murk of the past month.

Not weight as not been to loo for a few days Blush But no worries.

@ConfusedAndStressed95 glad you’re ok. Kickboxing sounds like fun. I remember when I could execute a round house kick to head height. Got as far as white belt in karate.

Today home made soup for lunch and family round later to share a roast chicken and vegetables.

Have a good day whatever you do.

Just remembered it’s the last day of November today 😮.

Hopefully see you all across in the Decembers Thread

DownUdderer · 30/11/2019 10:51

We’ve had a sunny day, but we had had rain forecast. Due to ongoing bush fires, everyone is always hopeful for rain. But none today.

My DH says he can see my weight loss, so that’s gratifying. My boobs are deflating though!

I can’t believe it’s December tomorrow!

ConfusedAndStressed95 · 30/11/2019 14:11

@BustedDreams, thanks I’m just confused about it all which is why I need to be a grown up and talk to him about it. I just don’t want to. Being able to kick someone in the head would be cool but I don’t think I’ll be able to manage that. I can kick pretty high at the moment but I’m very very short. I’m more likely to kick someone in the stomach instead 😂. I’m a little worried I’ll find it too overwhelming so I’ve arranged to observe and get more information when I go instead of running right into it.

But right now the biggest problem I have is deciding if I have fish and chips like I want knowing that tea is wine, cheese, bread and sliced meat and veg or do I have mushroom soup with crudités. I know what I should do but I also know what I want. But I’m thankful that I’m blessed enough that this is the biggest issue I have right now.

MrsJonesAndMe · 30/11/2019 15:15

Hi all, just a quick check in at the end of a rather busy month for us all! Cannot believe we're at the start of December either Shock

I weighed this morning and I'm 12.1kg down, so if nothing else, I'm maintaining my loss through November and aiming to do so through December too.

Will head over to the new thread now.

fallfallfall · 30/11/2019 16:59

Last day of the month and I’m heartbroken.
I’ve been exercising more and added in cardio. Muscle mass is unchanged. No snacks whine whine whine.
I’m in this for the long haul. Hoping December sees more progress on the weight loss.

I'm currently short almost a weeks data as I've not been able to sync since Monday. 🤬 All my historical data is backed up so I won't lose it , but I begrudge buying a new one when it's not that old. I tried another set of new batteries with no luck.
