Following on from the previous monthly loss threads, here’s November’s thread. I’ve omitted goal specifics of a certain number of lbs because as we’ve seen we are losing at different rates or maintaining. We need to create our own eating plan that is sustainable, enjoyable and provides all the nutrients we need to be healthy. It isn’t about extremes.

These threads are becoming quite holistic in nature and offer support to enable everyone to build & maintain emotional resilience and good mental health which undoubtedly underpins healthy eating habits and lifestyle. That said, we mustn’t forget we are human and with that comes fallibility ..... It’s at those times the support on these threads is second to none. The support I’ve seen on these threads (and personally benefitted from 🙏) is awesome. I’ve not once seen any unkind or harsh posts. You’ve all been awesome 👏.

I may lie in bed with a glass of water or a coffee and watch Miranda for half an hour to recover from the alcohol and manic burst of energy that yelled yes we can walk five miles when I will put off walking anywhere 90% of the time.

BustedDreams · 27/11/2019 11:34

@ConfusedAndStressed95 what’s a jelly shot? Is it a little jelly in a shot glass? Well done on the 3.5 miles!

Hi all

Oh no @BustedDreams, if they got one, then they got the other! Angry

Well done on that walk @ConfusedAndStressed95 Hope you're feeling better by now an up for shopping.

(((hugs))) @SunshineCake

I'm trying to keep on top of my food intake, but struggled yesterday and so far today hasn't been great either. Hmm, annoying when I was at 27.9lbs off yesterday Hmm I think I'm still aiming to just keep on top of things over the winter now and do as much good/positive stuff as I can.

Anyone else feeling completely suffocated by the sheer volume of stuff going on in the next 3-4 weeks? We got a letter yesterday to say there's a concert Monday afternoon at a different school where we need to deliver kids, someone as to stay and it means a late bed time on top of the normal agreed to weekly stuff. Week after it's the Christmas play, week after the school disco and early finish for the holiday.

SunshineCake · 27/11/2019 13:55

Hi everyone and thank you for the hugs and kind words. Much appreciated.

@BustedDreams if they got one they must have got the other unless it has been stolen by a worker. You can't let this go.

Therapy this morning. Was hard but I have faith it will help.

DD complaining her meds are making her feel sick but the Doctor has changed them once already, can't change again and it is only three days left of one tablet a day. Would help if she would eat more. Sorry she feels rubbish but glad it means she is not going out tonight. Dh will probably be late home so it saves me having to be taxi driver.

Really need to walk the dog as she only had 50 minutes this morning and it wasn't exciting. Was raining earlier so will check. Either way I need to get up as I am getting cold sitting still.

Stuck on 12 stone 3. Got fed up of weighing everything so haven't but I am just doing what I am doing, have cut down on chocolate, sweets and crisps as noticed I was having more of them as energy boosts. Walking as much as possible. Loved the walking to town without money so I might copy and do that next time I need a small amount of shopping but take money for emergencies !

fallfallfall · 27/11/2019 17:54

Busted the Fitbit issue would piss me off big time!!
Hope you’re safely home Confused
Flowers Sunshine and maybe Brew, you’ll get through this.
Steps and exercise going well over here, not much movement on the scale.

Mungomango · 27/11/2019 20:02

Hope the Fitbit issue gets sorted @BustedDreams, that's so annoying!

@MrsJonesAndMe YES! Feeling overwhelmed by the amount of things we have on at the moment (or the kids do anyway). This is the first Xmas in ages that I haven't worked though so at least I can now say to the kids I can make their events, without having to juggle work commitments as well.

I've been trying to eat more mindfully too, without a doubt it helps. Since I've had kids I've been guilty of finishing off their meals, and nibbling away at things whilst cooking (and feeling stressed because I'm under time pressure). I'm trying to stop all that and I'm making slow progress. I've also started listening to a hypnosis/meditation/weight loss visualisation for 15 minutes a day. Sounds crazy but I think it's helping!

Only a few days left of November, is anyone going to hit their target?! Mine was to get to 9 st 9. I'm about 3 lbs off at the moment which means I've only lost one or two lbs in the whole month, but at least that's a small improvement.

ConfusedAndStressed95 · 28/11/2019 00:14

@BustedDreams, it's alcoholic jelly in a shot glass you swallow whole. I've looked at my phone steps reader and apparently I've walked 7 miles today in total.

@MrsJonesAndMe, shopping was fun we got everything we needed for once and I had a good time with my friends.

fallfallfall · 28/11/2019 04:21

Mungo, not sure if i will meet my weight target BUT i have done well on exercise this month.
earned my november challenge and on my way to a perfect month.
added in swimming to my walking routine and occasionally using the rowing machine after the track (not at home).

SunshineCake · 28/11/2019 06:52

I haven't weighed yet today but no way will I hit my target. I'm stuck. This is what happens when I start to losing weight. I lose so much, usually a stone, then I feel my body gets used to the new way of eating and I no longer lose. Any suggestions are appreciated.

DownUdderer · 28/11/2019 07:23

I’m 6 pounds down for November. I’m happy with that. I’m 12lbs from target. I think I’ve eaten pretty well today.

BustedDreams · 28/11/2019 08:46

Morning All

The Fitbit issue is 7-10 days away from being resolved. Used their chat facility yesterday and ‘Sabiago’ assured me that I would be paid out in due course. This was after I’d told him on my send receipt from the post office there was a weight recorder of 600g. I could forward a photo if he liked. Not necessary he said. He confirmed 2 devices had been received and he didn’t no why ‘Sabrina’ had emailed to say they only had received 1. My opinion is that Fitbit were chancing it and were creating an opportunity for me to think ‘f* it’, I’m sick of chasing this up’.

Last night I succumbed to Wasabi flavoured crisps 😍😈. Serves me right, been on loo all morning. Lessoned learnt ....

@SunshineCake hope your dd feels better soon!

@DownUdderer that’s a nice monthly loss that is! Well done 🏅🌟

@Mungomango I won’t due to increase in meds causing water weight gain. Lost 4lbs of that gain already and hope to see a couple more off before month end. I will probably be back where I started which is a win because without these threads and my way of eating, that weight gain would have gone unnoticed and I’d have ended up gaining even more.

3 days left of November and I’m doing a little soup & veg detox. Soup for lunches and veg and fish tray bakes for evening meals.

Brand new month starts on Sunday. I will admit December for me is the most challenging month but with planning and mindful eating I’m hoping I will at least maintain if not lose. Definitely don’t want a gain!

Anyone got an Advent calendar? OH bought me a rather nice one as a thank you as I bake for him and his friends to have when meeting at their shared hobby. It’s one of those with beauty treats in rather than chocolate. I’ve got him a chocolate one as that is what he likes. It’s hidden away in his office.

For those who trim up ... when you doing it? I think I’ll be doing mine sometime between 7 - 14. @MrsJonesAndMe I really feel for you and other mothers with school age children. December must be so stressful with all the extra stuff going on at schools etc. Then you have to fit in your own preparations and activities, family visits & entertaining etc. Just keep trying to get some ‘me time’ for yourself. I always think what doesn’t get done gets left (the world hasn’t stopped revolving yet) and you’ll be less frazzled. As for working mothers ... you are all hero’s in my eyes and deserve a 🏅🏅🏅.

Decembers Thread for those who are wanting to carry on.

Oups sorry that was a long post. I popped on scales and I am 140.6lbs, so down overall, but have gained and lost 8lbs. Doesn’t seem right somewhere. I’ll post the pic. I wonder if I need new batteries.

Thanks @BustedDreams I was nearly sent over the edge when another parent asked to text if I can take their child to said concert. I declined! While I would love to help, I simply can't take on any more. We are having their child round to play tomorrow at DS's request, but that's my choice foolishness

MrsJonesAndMe · 28/11/2019 13:43

As for November's loss - I haven't lost anything but have maintained my loss around 12kg which I'm more than happy with.

Think of you @SunshineCake, hope you feel better today

SunshineCake · 28/11/2019 15:34

Thank you @MrsJonesAndMe. Not too bad today but that is because I have been busy. I'll probably crash tomorrow.

I am 12 stone 3 today which is one pound down and 1.2 lb up from lowest and highest this month.

In a minute I will get ready and take the dog to meet my son. Hard now as avoiding another dog walker and it is my first thought now when I think about going out if they will be around SadAngry.

fallfallfall · 28/11/2019 23:23

Busted excellent news on the fitbit!
i'm doing my best to be careful with food choices, and exercise :)
i'll post my month end info on saturday.
i started the decorating today and dh started a home reno project today...odd timing but it should work out.
not expecting anyone so i'm putting all my effort into the mantle vs a tree. i've picked out colors and a theme.

fallfallfall · 29/11/2019 00:40

@BustedDreams did you post the butternut squash recipe if not can you share it please.
i've got at least 8 cups of roasted squash from a massive hubbard squash my dh bought a few weeks back.
i used some to make focassia but honestly it didn't use up much.

fallfallfall · 29/11/2019 00:41

excuse the spelling on that focaccia

DownUdderer · 29/11/2019 06:09

We’ve got one tree up. My kids have been making decorations for it, so it was just easy to get it up. I’ll get another tree up this weekend. I like to have a few, they’re all fake because it’s too hot for a real tree.

I’ve had good food today, and a lovely long hike, it was up up up and down down down!! We saw a wallaby today, three or four big fat lizards, some orchids and cicadas. I’ll have something healthy for dinner. I had eggs on toast for lunch.

Koko everyone!

BustedDreams · 29/11/2019 07:33

Morning All

@fallfallfall focaccia is just one of those words ... I have to stop and think with quite few spellings. When I go down stairs I’ll photo a recipe I have although I generally just chuck in what I have. On the note of recipes, I had a lovely evening just looking through my festive cook books getting inspiration for the Christmas period. What colour theme are you? For Christmas decorations I’m mainly red & gold. I’m one of those who saves decorations from one year to the next. I’ve got some that are 40 years old. Gosh did I just write that Blush.

@DownUdderer it sounds idyllic where you live. Really lovely. We don’t have children at home nor any grandchildren yet so decorations go up a bit later. I’m with you in that we have a couple of trees. One in kitchen diner, one in the sitting room and sometimes one in the conservatory. Sometimes we light up a couple of trees in the garden too. Yes I’ve just realised we like trees Grin

@SunshineCake did you manage to avoid the other dog walker? Is their dog snappy?

Not seen @cheesenpickles @MikeHannigansStripyShirt
@BlueEyedFloozy @Lifeisntadressrehearsal @AreYouSiriusLupin @chutneypig @Galvantula @Faultymain5 @buzzofthebumblebee @Cathy31 @Foreverlexicon @aufaitaccompli @doadeer @cary2012 @chickenitalia and others I might have missed. Hope you are all ok 😊.

Have a good one!

Hey! I'm ok. Off the wagon badly due to work stuff. Weight is staying steady but I need to get to the gym badly. Hope you're all well. I will jump on the December thread for sure.

BustedDreams · 29/11/2019 10:54

Hello @cheesenpickles glad to hear your still breathing Grin

@fallfallfall I’ve attached the roasted butternut squash recipe for you. Let me know how you get on and if you like it.

Morning all

Up again and it has just dawned on me I am late so could it be that ? Or maybe just eating too many things I may still be intolerant too. So all over the place. I'm struggling to eat enough at breakfast and lunch and then find myself having dinner but then a snack 2 hours or so later.

@BustedDreams the dog is lovely but the dog walker took advantage of me and over stepped the line physically so I can't handle seeing them.

Frustrating morning so being able to order some presents but I am going out shortly to buy one I know I can get and I had a lovely long walk for 1 3/4 hour this morning with my best friend aka my dog.

Good day everyone !

PS nearly forgot! Nearly got hit by a car with foreign number plates this morning. They turned their right on to my side of the road and thank goodness no one was over taking me or on the other side as I had to fully swerve. Left me shaky for a while.

Octopus37 · 29/11/2019 12:11

1 pound down making me 9st10. I haven't done that well today as I have eaten a large piece of toast with peanut butter and a yorkie this morning, as well as my two oatcakes for breakfast, but I am trying not to beat myself up. Just get really hangry sometimes though and actually feel ill if I haven't eaten enough.

Feel as if I am doing well with my mindset though overall and have started a weighs exercise regime, 2 days in. Have ordered some dumbells from Amazon. Slowly but surely is my motto.

ConfusedAndStressed95 · 29/11/2019 12:27

I'm a bit all over the place at the moment. I need to have a difficult chat with a friend and I have no idea how to do it. I really don't want to but it's becoming necessary.
