Desperately need to lose this weight. I can't use the excuse of I've just had a baby because DS will 5 in November!! 4 years ago I only needed to lose 1.5 stone, now it's 2.5. Would like to do something along the lines of low fat/low calorie diet, with exercise 3 or 4 times per week, but really do need a bit of support, as I tend to weaken very easily....

Would anyone like to join me, with a weekly weigh-in, day to day support etc?

Looking at your previous post it helped you. I'm going to repeat it hundreds times tomorrow and every day from now on.

fedda · 29/08/2007 08:41

Hi, I've started my day with a mug of warm water which I previously boiled with a good squise of lemon. probably will have poriage later. It will incourage me to go to the shop as well as I'll be imidiately short of milk.

Gracie14 · 29/08/2007 08:45

Morning,

Thanks for that thread fedda, well my first day went fairly well and got in a swim as well. Think I will have to take each day as it comes and not put pressure on myself. Heres hoping that first stone will be gone before long

fedda · 29/08/2007 08:53

You are very welcome, Gracie. I've just read this and I'm really confused because I thought it was good to eat fruit and jam sweetened with fruit juice wouldn't do any harm. www.wellnessletter.com/html/fw/fwNut03Carbs.html

Good afternoon !!

Today is an ok day as I'm really busy, took my dds to the park so I have been walking quite a lot ! I had 2 toasts for my breakfast, tomatoes soup for my lunch with one toast and a yogurth and now it's hard because I'm used to have biscuits or chocolate with my coffee so it's hard to break the habit ! Today I'm going to order a new scale, the one I have now is rubbish...I'm going to walk some more this afternoon !! Have a nice day !

fedda · 29/08/2007 21:20

quiveutmabonnebaguette, I find it totally impossible to have tea or coffee on it's own so I decided to cut tea and coffee to a bare minimum. i have water instead or fruit juice, not juice drink although I've read that fruit can be bafd for us as well but I still believe it's a good alternative. i had corn flakes with milk for breakfast, Summer vegetable soup for lunch, philadelphia cheese with mixed nuts for dinner and steamed green beans as a snack 9actually it was very nice and sweet). i went to my library and borrowed some books on recipies for slimming so I might find some inspiring ideas. I also walked a lot. my tummy is anormous though, it looks today as if I'm 8 month pregnant. It's desparate!

quiveutmabonnebaguette · 30/08/2007 07:05

Morning Fedda !!! I think you are right about the coffe, the one after lunch is a dangerous one and it is at that time of the day that I'm really weak so I'm going to go for other alternative ! So far the only thing I'm still bad with is : fizzy drink I'm still having a couple of glass a day and booze..well 1 glass of white wine every 2 days...I know it's bad but I make sure I drink it after a meal and not before when I feel like having nibles...My tummy is enormous too, well I'm ashamed to say I put on almost 4 stones on my last pregnancy ! I think we can make it shrink a bit but I'm not putting too much hope on an amazing result !! One thing I tend to cook often which I think is nice is a ratatouille, you can have it with chicken or you can mix it with a bit of pasta, it's delicious !! Also another thing I'm cooking often is "jardinière de légume", it's peas, carrots and onions cooked slowly with a bit of water and margerine, pepper, salt and a bit of garlic...

Hi all. can't believe how rubbish I've been this week - both at dieting and posting! virtually all the original gang have disappeared.

My laptop is playing up - I just typed about a 3-page post and it's all disappeared . bascially the jist of it was, i've been crap but good luck everyone else! am starting again tomorrow and hope that i haven't gained this week. maybe when school starts again it will help to get into some kind of routine.

Hi all.

Well. I'm back from my jolly holidays in Devon.

Cream teas. Lots of....

I'm hoping that I've stayed the same weight as I went swimming every day and did lots of walking up and down sand dunes with the boys.

Had a chinese takeaway last night as we got back late and hadn't been shopping (excuses, excuses.) Went shopping this morning and stocked up on healthy stuff.

How is everyong doing? We've reached the lethal 'Oh, sod it' third week. Keep motivated, everyone.

Slouchy · 02/09/2007 08:26

Hi, I have fallen seriously off the wagon in the last week - a combination of few days at Eurodisney (where there is not an apple to be seen) and packing up for our house move which happens on friday (YIKES).Will be living on ready meals and takeaways till then cos pans etc need to be packed soon!

Well done to all those who are maintaining will power. I will join you again next week!

Gracie14 · 02/09/2007 20:03

Well weigh in tomorrow and I better have lost something have been fairly good this weekend (no wine either which is unheard of for me!!)

Joining a slimming class tomorrow night as well so with that and mumsnet just hoping that first stone loss won't be long.

Hope everybody has had a good weekend. Heres to a week of healthy eating (I hope )

Bubble99 · 03/09/2007 12:05

I've lost 2lbs.

Which is good considering the amount of scones, jam and cream I ate on holiday.

How did everyone else do?

Come on. Where are you all?

Biglips · 03/09/2007 12:22

hiya

i do need to lose 1.5 stones (i lost 4 stones after i had my DD but 18m ago i gained 1.5 stones within 3 months!!)

Do i need to do my own diet and exercise? and ill just tell u how i get on on here?

Biglips · 03/09/2007 12:22

well done bubble

Bubble99 · 03/09/2007 12:45

Thanks, Biglips.

Yes, we all seem to be doing our own thing - but checking in to offer support and, most importantly MOTIVATION!

I'm finding the weigh-in on Monday morning a good incentive to stick to it and I've also found it really helpful tp hear how everyone else is doing.

And, of course, the thread motto.

'Nothing tastes as good as slim feels.'

fedda · 03/09/2007 17:23

Hi, everyone. I had few days break from my computer and i even went to the gym for few sessions, only 30 minutes each. my weight is still the same although I stayed away from crisps, chocolate, coffee, black tea, ice cream, white bread and cakes. Yesterday I felt like giving up as it does create some stress and upset but I'm not giving up even if I don't loose weight, at least I didn't gain any so may be if I continue I will achieve at least partly my goals.

wuzzlefraggle · 04/09/2007 14:04

hiya ladies...Can I join you??

I started dieting and strict exercise on monday.

How do you all do it on here? do you have weigh in days??

fedda · 04/09/2007 21:26

Hi, wuzzlefraggle. Welcome to the diet club. Everybody is keeping silent. I'm still the same weight regardless what I'm doing: no crisps, buiscuits, white bread, white pasta, cakes, chocolate but more fruit, veg and nuts. yes, I'm guilty, i weigh myself several times a day! My weight goes down 2 kg and then back, down 1 kg and back, my waist keep going down and up as well and my latest discovery is that I'm apple shaped. i thought I was pear shaped but no, not me.

wuzzlefraggle · 05/09/2007 11:48

hi fedda I think weight does fluxuate (i cant spell lol) throughout the day anyway. how long you been dieting?

Are you doing any exercise?

Ive decided that I'm aiming to lose between a stone and a stone and a half.

Weighed this morning and am bang on 10 stone.Im gonna weigh every wednesday i think

Apparently exercising b4 you eat in the morning help speed up the weight loss. I do 30 mins of high energy exercise every morning (its a dvd that I do by the ministry of sound)

fedda · 05/09/2007 12:09

wuzzlefraggle, i've tried since some of the threads here, about 2 month. i walk and do light aerobics for 20 minutes 3 times a week, not much, i know. i try to eat more fruit, veg, palses and i gave up cakes, buiscuits, chocolate and ice cream for a time being.

breeze · 05/09/2007 12:19

I went to the doctors yesterday to see the nurse and she gave me my daily cal allowance which is 1497.

I get weighed every 2 weeks, my start weight was 12.8 stone. Aiming to lose 2 stone.

I am starting back at the gym next week as well.

wuzzlefraggle · 05/09/2007 15:43

breeze, thats a good cal allowance

I think they recommend chopping 500 cals from the standard daily guide line for a woman, which is 2000. so you've been given pretty much bang on.

I seem to be eating between 1200 and 1500 per day at the mo...its a glass of wine in the evening thats my achiles heel! (so sorry about the hideous spelling!)

breeze · 05/09/2007 18:58

I was pleased with it.

I got really fed up with doing diet after diet, losing weight quickly and then putting it back on.

So I went for the slower approach, I have been amazed what I have actually eaten.

I have had a bowl of porridge for breakfast
Lunch was Slice of pizza
cereal bar mid afternoon a
dinner was pasta and chicke

and I still have 200 cals left!.

I aim to lose 1-2 lbs a week for long time goals.

each time I see her and have lost some weight, I have a reduced calorie intake.

The cals did make me think as I pick up stuff I would normally eat and when I saw how many cals it was I changed for something else.

I know its only been 1 day, but so far so good ;)

wuzzlefraggle · 06/09/2007 08:39

yeah, thats brill!

Are you exercising at all?

I use a dvd by the ministry of sound, and fair play, it's brilliant.

How much weight are you planning to lose? (if you dont mind me asking )

breeze · 06/09/2007 13:39

I have not been, but I am going back to the gym tomorrow, plan to go 3/4 times a week.

I would love to lose 2.5 stone, but would be happy with anything over 1.5 stone.
