Desperately need to lose this weight. I can't use the excuse of I've just had a baby because DS will 5 in November!! 4 years ago I only needed to lose 1.5 stone, now it's 2.5. Would like to do something along the lines of low fat/low calorie diet, with exercise 3 or 4 times per week, but really do need a bit of support, as I tend to weaken very easily....

Would anyone like to join me, with a weekly weigh-in, day to day support etc?

Hi, Thunderpants. It's nice to hear from you. I feel so alone when nobody is writing anything. Please, don't worry. We are allowed slips. I went yesterday to the pub and had some deep fried starter. I just did some quality excersise and i felt much better. I started to make up my own excersises when you move your hands one way and your body the opposite way - e.g. hands to the right, body to the left it makes your figure look better and you feel the mascle tonus. I don't like running and i don't go to the gym so i need some simple but effective excersises. i also did today some disco dancing - great fun.

Thunderpants · 26/08/2007 22:07

good for you fedda! If the weather holds we may hit the beach tomorrow, so I will brave the sea (disguised in dark glasses and a big t-shirt) to try and get a bit of exercise. I think PMT doesn't help, as I always crave carbs at this time of the month (excuses, excuses...). Here's to a good day for both of us (and the others wherever they are) tomorrow.

Yes, Thunderpants, let's all have a good day!

fedda · 27/08/2007 13:42

i, I had parriage for breakfast made with semi-skimmed milk. I added some grapes and some apricote jam sweetened with grape juice.
i went out for a walk and now I'm cooking babble and squick. i hope it's not too bad for me to eat. i'll pass on meat, just to have pots with sprouts.

Gracie14 · 27/08/2007 17:35

Hi do you mind if I join you. I know that you started this a couple of weeks ago but soooo need to lose a stone and a half would love to comfortably fit into a size 12 and as I'm ttc would be great to get my BMI into the healthy range. Will be starting from tomorrow. How is everyone doing and what exercise are you all doing?

fedda · 27/08/2007 20:28

Hi, Gracie14. I haven't started the thread but everyone is welcome, the more the merrier. I do some excersise I'm making up myself. i don't go to the gym and i don't cycle but I'm trying to do some quality excersise for my legs and my tummy. What excersise are you doing?

fedda · 27/08/2007 23:32

My tummy is sooooo big every evening! My DH keeps making jokes about someone being in there! I want to look slim!

Whimsy · 28/08/2007 08:23

Well done everybody with the weight loses
I'm not getting on the scales this week. I've had such a bad week, it started to go down hill on Thursday as it was my Birthday and I ate lots of things I shouldn't. Then on Saturday I heard my nan had passed away, so once the kids were in bed I drank a bottle of wine and ate two boxes of Cadbury Snaps
I Shall try and do better this week.

Scoobi6 · 28/08/2007 08:37

Hi all sorry I haven't posted for a while. I've had friends and family staying most of last week, which of course made it difficult to eat well and almost impossible to exercise! Drank a little too much too!

I didn't lose any weight last week, but I didn't gain any either so I guess I should be relieved. Could have been worse! Back on the wagon this week, keep it up everyone!

sorry about your nan whimsy

Fedda, love the idea about posting our food ideas. I am always snacking at my desk at work, so now I have a big lunchbox full of oaty muesli and dried fruit which I can pick at while I work. Favourite lunch at the moment is granary bread sandwich with a little bit of hummus and lots of grated carrot, chopped peppers and spinach, nice and crunchy mmmm!

Gracie14 · 28/08/2007 09:49

Fedda - I have been trying to swim at least 3 times a week and do quite abit of walking with the dog. I really need to get more motivated and maybe go to an exercise class and was going to try sit ups in the morning and before bed as my stomach is the main problem

The main thing that I need to do is change my diet - the problem I have is what to cook for dinner??? That probly sounds like a stupid question but I need some inspiration. Also snack ideas as I'm always starving when I get in from work especially after swimming and thats when the chocolate comes out and kind of defeats the object of exercising.

Whimsy - so sorry about your nan

gracie, here are some ideas fromMatt Robert's 'Fat loss' book where he gives recipes for meals. baked courgette with whole grain rice; stuffed red pepper withmushrooms, tomato and aubergine; chicken and vegetable kebabs, salmon and vegetable kebabs; grilled or steamed fish with guinoa; steamed fish with salsa and salad; marinated tuna with polenta. I borrowed his book in the library where you can find a lot of books with recipes for dieting. your question actually is not stupid at all. We all need some ideas and make food nice, not some borring stuff we can't even look at. I think we need to enjoy, not suffer dieting and we need to be very creative to eat well and to loose weight. I decided to start my day with boiled water which I wait to get warm and a good squise of lemon. Apparantly it's very good for the digestion. The water should be warm though, not cold is this case.

I've just found this site www.freedieting.com/free_diet_plans.htm where you can find free sumple menus for popular diets.

fedda · 28/08/2007 10:14

Sorry, my message should have dush after free diet www.freedieting.com/free_diet_plans.htm

Gracie14 · 28/08/2007 10:15

Fedda - Thanks for that, your right about making food nice and not boring I think thats my main problem as well as trying to cook for DP (who doesn't need to lose weight even though he eats so much rubbish ) who is very fussy.

How has your weight loss been going? How much do you want to lose?

fedda · 28/08/2007 11:38

Gracie, i lost 2 kg but one day it's okay, next day I'm back to my original weight. It's much harder to maintatin the weight then to loose it. i need to loose around 8 to 10 kg and then keep it at the level I've achieved + I need to make my tummy look slim which is even harder. My tummy looks as if I'm 4 month pregnant and people often ask me whether I'm expecting. i can't stand the look of my tummy. i also need to look well, not skiny on my face and when I loose weight my face becomes really looking unwell. That's why I'd like to go for a healthy diet and look well while I'm loosing weight. I don't really want to look as if I've been in a hospital.

Gracie14 · 28/08/2007 11:49

Fedda - Thats the hardest thing. Its all very well losing the weight but keeping it off is so hard. I lost 10 pounds in April but have slowly gained 5.5 pounds back on and I don't want to gain anymore. I'm really hoping to lose some weight off my face - looking at recent photos of me thats where my weight goes as well as my tummy, its so hard isn't it!

Good luck and lets hope we achieve that gorgeous figure we all want

fedda · 28/08/2007 16:51

Thank you, Gracie. Good luck to all of us. We all work so hard.

fedda · 28/08/2007 16:54

Gracie, I've just found this for you:

fedda · 28/08/2007 21:14

i had ready made plum tomato soup which unfortunately had butter and cream in the ingredience. Feel guilty now. I added a handful of poriage oats to make it more heathy and to avoid having bread and butter with it.

quiveutmabonnebaguette · 28/08/2007 21:17
