New thread!

Well it looks like I'm 3lb up on pre holiday weight so that's pretty good. I've been on damage control the last few days so will do my best to keep focused (pesky Oreo thins getting in the way!)

Here's to a lighter September for us all!

Sounds painful BOOP!

Quim well done! Huge award. All the awards!

I so need to get back to walking.

Currently waiting for an X-ray as doc thinks I may have broken something. I’ve been walking on it for 4 weeks including s very walky holiday in Venice Shock

Ooh that’s not good BOOP!

Boop ouch! Hope your ankle isn't broken

Poor shingles sound grim. I second eating healthy though, you know how easily it goes on and what a fucker it is to shift!

Peridot good work staying in calories with some treats and on finding a healthy parmigiana recipe.

Ello how have the last few days been?

Quim you certainly deserve a big shiny medal for stepping that much on the pissing down rain. Walking in the rain is grim. Bizarrely, I don't mind running in the rain, better than running in the heat.

Hope I've not missed anyone!

SlimmingWorld weigh in tomorrow for me. I've been the goldenest golden for the last few days and the scales were kind this morning so the signs look good for tomorrow!

1.5lbs off! Hurrah! I have meals planned for the day. I am ON this!

I hope you're feeling a bit better Paws

Oh, Mumsnet ate my post! In which I said were you sure it wasn't broken BOOP, four weeks is an absurdly long time for it to still be swollen! What did the x-ray show?! I'm amazed you managed to walk around Venice on it Shock

CONGRATS on the terrific start on the scale too! Especially impressive since you're hobbled!

Congrats on the loss to you too Red! I'm tentatively optimistic for this week's weigh-in too. Another 8K steps in the drizzle this morning - not pissing rain thank God, but it really does put me in a grump. I think I need a stylish raincoat with a proper hood - part of the problem is that I pinch MrQuim's and the hood blows off which makes me RAGE. And other people with their stupid umbrellas taking up the whole bloody pavement Angry

(Rain + Fast Day = Angry Quim Grin)

Thanks quim. I had an epically good weigh in on my own scales this morning but it was after a 10k run (furthest I've ever run in my life) and before a drink/breakfast. So I'm going to eat sensibly today and see what tonight brings.

Boop good news on the loss. It all feels so easy when it's going well!

Red wow, mad props on the 10K! I don't actually think the run would make you instantly lighter, I think your muscles would be all pumped, so you might find it's even better tomorrow! Remember Kick had sticky scales until she had a rest day and gave her body a chance to shake it down, so you might see a whoosh. Finger crossed, anyway Grin

I don't know what the xray said. They said 2 working days at my GP. I'll ring them tomorrow. It feels a bit easier after a great sleep again.

Hurrah for long runs and epic weigh ins Red. Fingers cross the number sticks

What shall I have for lunch? I'm so out of the habit...

BOOP how about some nice hard-boiled eggs? Wink

I might've known you'd suggest eggs Quim Grin

I might just have some scrambled eggs. Possibly with some cheese! Thank you!

Hi everyone, do you mind if I join in? I’m on a mission to lose the extra weight I’ve gained and could do with talking it out to help me keep track!

QuimReaper · 25/09/2019 14:54

Hello Bloodycats, welcome to the thread! Talking it out is what we do best Smile Which approach do you favour? We've got a mishmash of different ways and means going on here, so there's bound to be someone you can compare notes with.

Hi! I’ve been calorie counting and low carbing, along with regular exercise at least 3x a week. I look better but am struggling to shift the actual lbs.

I did weigh 11st 2lb but am down to 10st 8 now. Would love to get to 10st, that’s the goal!

BitOutOfPractice · 25/09/2019 15:40

hello BloodyCats Nice to "meet" you! You're doing basically the same as me. This is a brilliant thread. So supportive!

Hello bloodycats, we are indeed all lovely here and are very good at helping each other along.

1lb off at SlimmingWorld last night. Would have been more but an impromptu day off (hence the mega morning run) meant I nibbled more than I would if I'd been at work.

Still though, a good result. Feeling in the zone at the moment so I'm enjoying it!

Bloodycats how long have you been at it? You might be losing but not seeing it on the scales due to water retention; if that's the case the scales will suddenly shift, which is always a Jolly Good Day.

Red Weighing in at the end of the day always seems a bit barmy to me, as you're always weighing what you've eaten! I know Slimming World have to meet in the evenings, and it's the consistency that matters, but I am so committed to my sans-PJs post-pee pre-water (usually post-fast day) weigh-ins that I'd hate it Grin I guess it could encourage a day of light eating if you know you're being weighed in the evening.

I FINALLY had a piece of luck this morning and made it almost all the way before the heavens opened on me, so I made the most of it and have 11K steps already! My stepping's been pretty poor for me this week, so hoping for a final push.

Quim good work on dodging the rain! My new Fitbit arrives tomorrow, I've missed it!

I agree weighing in the evening is not ideal. When I was on mat leave I went to a 9:30 group so that was better. I'm very attached to my current group though and I've made some close friendships there so that keeps me going as much as anything. I do also weigh pretty much every morning (post wee, pre shower of course!) and keep track of that on an app so I get the best of both worlds!

Hi all.

Still here. A bit up and down consistency wise.

Had a read of the Fast 800 book last night and think I will give that a go. Planning on starting on Monday. In preparation for starting I’m doing 16-8 in the meantime. Went well today so far although I was hungry. I never used to need breakfast but I seem to get hungry in the mornings now.

So @Elloello if you are still around I will be joining you!

I’ve been on a healthy kick for a couple of months now but had a few personal issues that meant I found it hard to keep it up as much as I’d like, but I’ve been on track with diet and exercise for 3 weeks (ish) now. I think I’m just falling in to the trap of wanting results immediately, need to give my head a shake.
Thinking of trying the 5:2 also but don’t want to overload myself. Is anyone else doing it, or something similar?

Well done on your steps quim! You could always trying running up and down the stairs for a quick blast.

Hello just a quick in and out (oo er!) so I have chipped a bone in my ankle Shock. I've been walking on it for 3 weeks. I'm either really stupid or really hard - you decide!

BOOP JESUS! How the hell have you been walking around on it?! You are hard as NAILS, you lunatic! What's the deal now then? A boot or anything, or just rest?

P.S. FNAR Wink

Bloodycats I follow a few foodie people on Instagram and bookmark things when I see something that tickles my fancy, but I never post food pics myself. If you start one I'd love to follow it though! I'm woefully repetitive in my cooking, I'm always after new inspiration.

I'm a 5:2er! Actually, I follow what is known round these parts as Quim's Patented 2:2:3 Plan, but I've bored everyone with it 8 squillion times so I'll wait until you ask before I post it again Grin 5:2 is great though - it really helped me get to grips with my hunger, and taught me how to get the biggest bang for my buck calorie wise. I've got a friend on it too and she's lost over a stone and looks terrific. It takes a bit of trial and error to work out how it best works for you, but once you get into the groove it's really quite effortless.

Peri I've been experimenting with longer fasts, and I am convinced it's really helped. I find that Dr Fung guy very convincing regarding insulin spikes. Are you doing 800 every day, or easing in?

400g down this week Smile I'm happy with that! That's 1.4kg off since my first weigh-in of the month, and 2.5kg since my last weigh-in of last month. I think for the purposes of Slenderista of the Month challenge I should take it from first weigh-in to last so I'm always (except one month of the year) doing the difference between four weigh-ins; does that make sense?

Or should it account for the whole month, i.e. take it from the last weigh-in of August to the last weigh-in of September rather than including the first 6 days in Sep as 'last month'?

HAPPY FRIDAY SLENDERISTAAAAS!
