Link to previous thread here: Half a stone (or 3kg) off for August!! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3652424-half-a-stone-or-3kg-off-for-august

Morning all! Welcome to the half a stone loss challenge for September. All are welcome whatever plan or method you are following. I'm mainly following ww online with some intermittent fasting thrown in for good measure!

All I ask is that we continue the uplifting positivity and support seen on previous threads! We cheerlead each other, celebrate success and support through the harder times.

We had a great month in August with lots of losses. I don't know about you lot but the longer this goes on the more it feels like a way of life for me now rather than "being on a diet"?

Stats for me are:
Starting weight: 19st 13
Loss for August: 14lbs
Loss for 2019: 5 st 3lbs
Target for September: 10lbs off

Ready for September??

❤️❤️

Confused
MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 26/09/2019 14:51

Hi everyone.

Flying visit.

Today:

B: yog, nuts, seeds, dried cranberries
L: moussaka, couscous, strawberries.

Have reported above posts.

Have a nice afternoon!

beforeIhit30 · 26/09/2019 15:52

Crispy teriyaki tofu sounds so good!

Today I’ve successfully avoided eating the cakes I’ve made for a bake sale (well, so far, but I’m feeling confident!).

B: creamy coffee, scrambled eggs, smoked salmon.
D: going to make meatballs in creamy tomato sauce, some cheese, and probably salad on the side.

Ihatesundays · 26/09/2019 22:08

@cricketmum84 veg sticks noooooooo. I need all the carbs....
Hoping it will all settle down as I get used to it. I need to eat breakfast though, it makes a huge difference.
When I am not working I can do without.

Hardly worked out either as just too tired when I get home...

cricketmum84 · 26/09/2019 22:27

@Ihatesundays I find carrot sticks and hummous quite filling.

What about low fat salted popcorn for the carb cravings?

Not done too bad today. Came in 400 calories under my MFP target and a good 16:8 day.

L (1pm) half a tub of quorn thai bites. Had awful indigestion after though. Wondering if I should stay away from quorn products.

D (8pm) 1 Linda mccartney sausage (DSDD) stole my other 2 Cos she loves them, 5 baby potatoes, 4 mini Yorkshire puds and some vegetable gravy.

Also 2 big gins as I'm not working tonight!!! Whoooooo!

In other news DDDS has a GP appt tomorrow to sort a referral to a new gender identity clinic. Hopefully we can sort out some specialist counselling for her.

I’ve heard a few people say that quorn really disagrees with them cricket so could be a possibility. Do you have it often? We used to have tons of it but seem to be using more lentils and pulses at the moment. We get a couple of gousto recipes each week which are great to have to avoid eating crap when you need something quick and they do lots of nice veggie recipes with the calorie count already done.

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 27/09/2019 06:45

Morning!

Finally had a little whoosh. I'm down two pounds this week, so in total I've lost five this month.

Upside: I've managed to lose weight despite having (and enjoying) two celebration weekends this month.

Downside: I've just lost the weight I gained over the summer holidays.

At least that gives me a good platform for October.

Have a great day losers!

cricketmum84 · 27/09/2019 06:54

I seem to be ok with the quorn pieces but any of the convenience type stuff gives me indigestion. Same with the addictive vegan rolls which are also quorn. I have loads of lentils, chickpeas, beans etc I'm so I need to start making more use of them! Hopefully now work has settled down I will have time to cook again!

19.5 this morning so the scales are moving again!! Yayyyy!

Plan for today is:
L - subway salad - has anyone tried the vegan patty thing on salad before?
D - salmon fish cake and salad

Happy Friday my lovelies! Only a few days of September left so let's have a big push to hit those targets by Monday! Xx

Thinking of you at the doctors today WoollyFoolly. Thanks

WoollyFoolly · 27/09/2019 07:18

Thanks Miles, I will report back later.

Soooo, this morning, I've done it!!! 12.7, two stone weight loss, 7lb loss in September so far AND my BMI is now normal! I can't quite believe it, somehow September has been my most successful month!
12 st 7 was the original target I set for myself on MFP so now have to set a new one. The healthy weight range for my height goes from 9st 3 to 12st 7 but I've got quite a big frame so have never been under 11st as an adult (pre-children, in my 20s). I am thinking another stone would be lovely if I can do it (post-children and menopausal!).

Vebrithien · 27/09/2019 07:29

That's brilliant Woolly, hope all goes well for you today.

My weight-in is at 90.8kg, which is half a kilo off this week. Again, happy with that, as I'm full of period bloating and a cold. There is quite a bit of sugar in Lemsip, as I found out this week!
Am now back to 20.2kg lost since April, and 2.7kg down for the month.
Hope everyone has a good day.

cricketmum84 · 27/09/2019 08:14

That's amazing @WoollyFoolly!! You must be feeling so proud!!

Stressful couple of days at work and cannot remember all my food diaries but yesterday:

B: overnight oats (water), grapes, yoghurt
L: several tiny pieces of cake - Macmillan cake morning - small sliver of sausage role, lentil salad.
D: steak with grilled veg and blue cheese. Yoghurt and fruit.

Drinks: black coffee, water!

Off for mini break today so big fancy dinner booked for tonight but otherwise just my usual overnight oats and some soup for lunch (to make up for it!).

Mrscog · 27/09/2019 08:57

Well done everyone! I managed to stay on straight and narrow yesterday. Need to resist the ‘Friday feeling’ today where I start the treats at 9am ‘because it’s Friday’!
Just got to keep going until Sunday when I’m going to weigh in again and see if my dress which caused the initial panic is any looser!

FashionFoodLaughs · 27/09/2019 09:00

Good luck today @WoollyFoolly and congratulations on the loss. Another half a pound off for me meaning 6lbs in total, I wonder if I have a chaste weekend I will hit half a stone off in September?? Plan for today is:
Fasted cardio at gym, followed by...
B - oats with mashed banana and protein powder
L - leftover butternut squash, spinach and chickpea curry with rice
D - roast sweet potato and cauliflower salad from back issue of Women’s Health magazine

Sigh81 · 27/09/2019 09:09

Oooh and I am 57.3 on the scales today! If I could get it to 57 by the time the month ends I would be very happy.

WoollyFoolly · 27/09/2019 15:19

Not much to report from the docs, she wasn't really sure what it was so have been referred for a chest x-ray to see. I'm still expecting it to just be an odd bony growth so we'll see!

beforeIhit30 · 27/09/2019 15:27

Yay for losses!

Managed to avoid eating cake at Macmillan coffee morning here too, just had the coffee.

Today:
B: ate out this morning, had beans, sausage, bacon and eggs, and a couple of cappuccinos.
D: making bbq pork ribs with veg/salad.

Bit more sugary than usual with the beans and the bbq sauce (have bought one to put on the ribs for an easy night), but, overall still going well.

Jeds55 · 27/09/2019 15:37

@WoollyFoolly that's a fantastic milestone to reach. Glad doctor has referred you for x-ray to hopefully put mind at rest.
Managed to avoid the bad food yesterday and today so far. Will relax a bit more tomorrow then get back on it Sunday. Still hoping for at least 7lbs in Sept...

cricketmum84 · 27/09/2019 19:00

Ok it's turned into a "F it" Day.

DSDD refuses the appt this morning. But only when I was stood holding car keys ready to set off. Then screamed and shouted at me, reduced me to tears, threw her guitar at me and got hold of me by the arms and bundled me out of her room. I just broke down and sobbed.

I am so so exhausted by all this. I am trying so hard to help her and she just explodes and throws it all back at me. I don't know what else to do.

Work pressures just adding to it all and making me ultra stressed.

So food is taking over today. I had cheese and toast earlier. Sticking to fish cakes and salad for dinner but I have wine. And then when it's just me and DH later we have some co op spicy naan crisps and a bar of dairy milk with gingerbread to share. I don't care today. I just need a bit of comfort.

Sorry to whinge on you all. I just needed to get it all down somewhere.

Chin up cricketmum, tomorrow is another day and one night of having what you fancy won't derail you. 💐
Sorry things are so tough with DDDS, I imagine the gender confusion added to just being a teenager is a pretty volatile mix.

Mrscog · 28/09/2019 08:15

Hi everyone, for a Friday yesterday wasn’t tooo bad, but possibly not a ‘lossy’ day.

How do you all stay on track at weekends? I feel like there’s no plan to what I’m going to eat today and so I sense danger!!!

AndTheyLivedHappilyEverAfter · 28/09/2019 08:30

Morning!

I feel food quiet after having a meal out (including chips and coleslaw), followed by cheesecake and ice cream. I really enjoyed it but I'm worried that it's going to put me another week behind and I won't his 7lbs by Tuesday Sad! I need to make myself go for a run today as well as sticking to 16:8.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

cricketmum84 · 28/09/2019 09:02

Morning all! Only 3 days left of September so let's make them count!

I drank the wine last night but couldn't bring myself to open the crisps or chocolate. I wasn't hungry and I didn't want to eat just for the sake of it.

Back down to 19.4 today!! So 9lbs off for September. One more tiny lb would be nice as at the start of the month I said I would like to lose 10 for September.

@Mrscog I find it much easier to stay on track if I plan my food for the day and put it all into MFP early. Once my meals are in there then I know how much I have left to play with. I think it's inevitable that we find it harder on a weekend as we lose our usual routines and there is a mentality of "oh sod it it's the weekend" 😂.

Sometimes I stop and ask myself "would you eat this on a Wednesday?" If my answer is no then I don't eat it.

Half a stone or 3kgs off in September!!
