Link to previous thread here: Half a stone (or 3kg) off for August!! http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3652424-half-a-stone-or-3kg-off-for-august

Morning all! Welcome to the half a stone loss challenge for September. All are welcome whatever plan or method you are following. I'm mainly following ww online with some intermittent fasting thrown in for good measure!

All I ask is that we continue the uplifting positivity and support seen on previous threads! We cheerlead each other, celebrate success and support through the harder times.

We had a great month in August with lots of losses. I don't know about you lot but the longer this goes on the more it feels like a way of life for me now rather than "being on a diet"?

Stats for me are:
Starting weight: 19st 13
Loss for August: 14lbs
Loss for 2019: 5 st 3lbs
Target for September: 10lbs off

Ready for September??

❤️❤️

Morning everyone. Slinking back in sheepishly after falling off the wagon last week. The less said about it the better to be honest. One week left in September so I need to make it count! Hope everyone is doing well. Haven’t read back but might do so today. Happy Monday everyone.

cricketmum84 · 23/09/2019 08:26

Back down to 19.6 this morning. Let's hope it keeps moving in that direction.

Way too much stress this morning with DS/DD. Refusing school, shouting at DH for not using correct name and pronouns. She's only just getting dressed now so is going to be massively late for school. I have so much to do at work and 10yo DD has spent all morning in tears because big brother/sister won't speak to her and told her to fuck odd and die.

I don't even care what I eat today. Thank god it's an early finish at work although guaranteed I'll be back on the laptop within an hour of getting home. I just want a bath and a gin. And maybe some chocolate.

Right, I’ve arrived at work, I am NOT buying cake for breakfast. Doing mindful envisioning of how good it will feel at lunch if I can fast this morning... any messages of support welcome!!!!

Monday motivation and a cute picture of Ivycat in case anyone needs the awww factor this morning x

Hello all! Checking back in again. I was on holiday last week as part of DPs birthday present, was a good walking holiday but did eat a lot. I've only gained back the same lb I keep losing and gaining so I am not too worried. I'm starting today at 78.5, it's unlikely I'll get to 76 by the end of the month but nevermind!

Today's food:
B: Muesli and skim milk
L: Tomato and bean soup
D: Veggie stir fry
Snacks: Latte, banana, small choc

Hoping this will land me on around 1300 or so calories for today, no exercise planned outside the usual walk to and from work as I am achey from loads of walking over the weekend!

AndTheyLivedHappilyEverAfter · 23/09/2019 10:17

Checking in for the day! Back to 16:8 today after eating crap all weekend. I feel really guilty today Sad. I'm not going to weigh in until mid week and I just hope I'm the same as I was last week. I find it so easy once I've been good for a few days but as soon as I fall off the wagon I really struggle to get back on it!

Hope you all have a good, healthy Monday!

Jeds55 · 23/09/2019 10:50

@ScoobyCan wow! Great loss for Sept and still a week to go

Jeds55 · 23/09/2019 10:50

@cricketmum84 what a crap start to the week. Hope things improve

Jeds55 · 23/09/2019 10:51

@WoollyFoolly hope the doctors goes well and puts your mind at rest

Jeds55 · 23/09/2019 10:54

11stone 1.4lbs today so down 5.4lbs since start of Sept. Had a binge day Sat but st least I kept it to one day this week and didnt write off the whole weekend. Finding the weight is coming off so much slower than it used to. Am being really good in the work but old habits at weekend still there.
Have a good week all. One week to go...

Onesmallstep67 · 23/09/2019 11:46

@cricketmum84, challenging times. My DD has 3 friends who have all recently begun to identify as male and I have see some of the difficulties they face at times. But it's also great to see their positivity and to see how accepted they are by most of their real friends. It's a massive steep learning curve for you all as a family. You sound like a strong woman and I'm sure with time you will be able to support each other through this. X
Some fantastic losses on here, well done everyone. I've bobbled around, gaining and losing the same pound all week, mostly due to a tub of chocolates that seemingly had my name on it. But thankfully this morning I'm still 6lbs down for September and with a week to go hopeful of clinching the extra lb ( or 2) loss x

Crazzzycat · 23/09/2019 12:58

September has been a bit of a write off so far, but am determined to do better this week. Plan for today:

Lunch: Mexican bean wraps and salad
Dinner: Spicy tomato pasta
Snacks: 2 tangerines, corn cakes with hummus and quorn ham and I might have a protein shake at some point. I’m still making up my mind about that 🤔

Kanga83 · 23/09/2019 13:02

9lbs down since the 1st of September, bringing my weight to 15st. Aiming for another two stones by Christmas but I know any loss is a loss and with PCOS and endo that would be fully achievable.

Mrscog · 23/09/2019 13:05

I didn't quite fast until lunch - but I made a health based choice of porridge for breakfast at 10am, and have now just had vegetable soup for lunch. Lots of water too. Halo

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 23/09/2019 13:21

Afternoon!

Been a very busy Monday, so I've only just found time to post.

Plan today:

Late breakfast: natural yog, nuts etc
Late lunch: (Linner? Dunch?): beef chilli & rice.

Have a great afternoon everyone.

HollyTheHarrier · 23/09/2019 18:42

Good day so far. Chicken, homemade beetroot houmous and flatbread for lunch. Then homemade ginger bread (low sugar) mid afternoon. Hopefully heading out for a run shortly!

Mrscog · 23/09/2019 21:44

Right, first day a success - porridge, pea soup for lunch, 1 chocolate biscuit, 2 pieces of fruit toast and a bowl of homemade tomato soup. No drinks other than water. I ate for HEALTH today :) I also went for a walk.

I’ve also prepared lunch to take into work tomorrow - 1/2 Tin beans and a slice of toast.

cricketmum84 · 23/09/2019 22:14

Sounds like good days all round :)

I didn't have time for lunch as work was too full on. Finally broke the fast at 8pm with a quorn and veg stir fry that lovely DH made for me. I have half of it left for tomorrow's lunch.

I got shouted at by MFP for too few calories but I was just too stressed to eat during the day.

DD/DS is a bit more settled this evening. Although I had a call from pastoral at little DDs school to say she had gone to see her and written down all the things she is worried about. They are recommending I take her to the GP and get a counselling referral for her.

Hello all, joining in (although more as a primer for the October thread onwards!). I was on a predecessor of this thread (I think) last year and reached my goal weight - hurrah! But I’ve since had a baby and am now looking to gradually lose the weight I gained in pregnancy. I might not quite make 7lb per month, we’ll see, but I think the accountability and checking in would be good.

My starting weight is 179lb and my goal is around 140lb (I was 145lb pre-pregnancy). I’m moving back to a low carb high fat (LCHF) diet, which is how I ate before pregnancy and suits me very well, however I was very ill during pregnancy so for some time it was just a case of whatever I could manage.

I’m significantly lower carb and higher fat now but still cave to some cravings which I would like to move away from. I want a healthy way of eating in a holistic sense, as in, not just healthy for me physically but also a healthy relationship with food. I’m generally okay but a bit off kilter following pregnancy. Cravings don’t really fit into that healthy mindset for me, by craving I mean thinking you really want/need something even if you’re not hungry; for me it’s often triggered by hormones, emotions or tiredness. Plus the Bake Off isn’t helping Grin

lightlypoached · 23/09/2019 23:14

@HollyTheHarrier what's your recipe for the beetroot hummus please? I Love it so much Grin

LooseAtTheSeams · 24/09/2019 06:09

Forgot to weigh in yesterday but suspect no further loss. Yesterday not too bad - oats and yoghurt for breakfast, small portion of pasta pesto with spinach and peppers for lunch plus fruit and veg burger with potato wedges for dinner. I did cave in to temptation and had 2 biscuits but didn't feel great after so think I can safely keep off them now! 1 glass red wine.

cricketmum84 · 24/09/2019 07:03

Just love it when my weight is up and down like this.... said no one ever!!!!

IBS has kicked in with a vengeance. It's triggered by stress with me so it's probably an after affect of the last few days as I've been very low carb. My stomach is hurting and swollen which is affecting the scales.

Fingers crossed for a less stressful day.

Plan is:
Lots of water and green tea
L: leftover quorn and veg stir fry
D: making pasta and meatballs for the family, I'm having a bit of the pasta sauce and some green "meat"balls with a side of salad leaves instead of pasta. Must avoid the garlic bread.

No wine OR gin. May treat myself to a small bottle of DHs home brewed pear cider if I swerve the treats at work!

Happy Tuesday everyone! Wishing you all a successful day!

Inspired by everyone’s food posts. I’m down by 0.75 of a lb to 10.13.75 so nice to be in the 10s! My plan for today is:
B - porridge with mashed banana and protein powder
L - poached egg on 2 pieces wholemeal toast
D - chicken and chickpea tagine with bulgur wheat
Trying to not snack at all...
