Morning all! Welcome to the half a stone loss challenge for September. All are welcome whatever plan or method you are following. I'm mainly following ww online with some intermittent fasting thrown in for good measure!

All I ask is that we continue the uplifting positivity and support seen on previous threads! We cheerlead each other, celebrate success and support through the harder times.

We had a great month in August with lots of losses. I don't know about you lot but the longer this goes on the more it feels like a way of life for me now rather than "being on a diet"?

Stats for me are:
Starting weight: 19st 13
Loss for August: 14lbs
Loss for 2019: 5 st 3lbs
Target for September: 10lbs off

Ready for September??

❤️❤️

A little loss again today, down to 12.8.5 this morning. Spent a while trying on my 'occasion' dresses last night (I have quite a few!) and most of them are hanging off me. I wore one in July and it fit fine! Actually quite shocking to see just how much I've lost! I'm taking a couple of them to a seamstress today to see if she's able to take them in a bit for me.

FashionFoodLaughs · 24/09/2019 07:44

That’s brilliant @woollyfoolly

WoollyFoolly · 24/09/2019 07:44

Oh as for food, nothing exciting for me today I don't think. No breakfast, probably just get a ham sandwich for lunch then will think of something delicious for tea. I'd also love to get the beetroot houmous recipe!

HollyTheHarrier · 24/09/2019 08:30

@lightlypoached recipe is:
One roasted beetroot
One can chickpeas
Two tablespoons tahini
One cloves garlic
Three tablespoons fresh lemon juice (or more, to taste)
Enough olive oil to get the right consistency (recipe says 1/4 cup - US measurements)
Sea salt to taste

Whack it all in the blender and blend until smooth ish 😊

cricketmum84 · 24/09/2019 08:45

@WoollyFoolly that's such a good feeling!! I'm wearing a dress today that's quite loose on me that I couldn't pull down over my boobs at Christmas let alone get it over the tum!!

Morning all,

Have been seriously absent on this thread! Mostly because I’ve been struggling to kick cravings and actually stick to it.

Giving myself a kick up the arse this week, so hopefully can make some progress for the last week and set the tone for October!

Today’s food:
B - basic smoothie (banana, strawberry, 10g oats and almond butter)
L - wholemeal pitta with tomato, mozzarella and avocado
D - Turkey bolognese with half a baked sweet potato

Gym tonight too!

Overall this is about 1,600 calories and I burn about 400 at the gym. Don’t usually eat my calories back but since I’m struggling to keep motivated atm I will do this for a few weeks Grin

Stats
Current weight: 9st 10lbs (last weighed Saturday)
Target for September/October 9 st 2lbs
Target overall: 8st 10lbs

lightlypoached · 24/09/2019 10:26

@cricketmum84 great news re the dress Smile

Whenever I have a pasta salad dinner combo I have a huge bowl of salad first and then eat the pasta. It stops me pigging on the pasta Grin

Crazzzycat · 24/09/2019 11:22

Morning all. Food wise, I’m planning a repeat of yesterday, so spicy bean wrap for lunch, spicy pasta for dinner. There will no doubt be a snack or two, but I’ve yet to decide exactly what those will be.

Sounds like people are making some great progress on this thread. I sorted out part of my wardrobe a couple of weeks ago and found a size 16 dress that was really tight this time last year. I’m absolutely swimming in it now 🙈

It’s odd, because I have size 16 cardigans and t-shirts that are definitely roomy, but still look ok-ish. The dresses on the other hand all look terrible!

Mrscog · 24/09/2019 11:56

Well done everyone, great work all around. I've had a 10 am bowl of porridge again today which should keep me full for a while longer. I will need to resist the urge to weigh in tomorrow morning after just 2 days, I want to wait until Thursday or Friday. I've also realised that I am in the PMT phase of my cycle, which might also explain why I feel so bloated and puffy everywhere! Hi @beforeIhit30 I'm new too, so you're not alone.

beforeIhit30 · 24/09/2019 13:29

Hi @Mrscog Smile

Had sausage and egg for breakfast and a cup of tea, now having a creamy coffee. Will probably have some beef and pork belly soup with assorted veg for dinner.

My day usually works out at two main meals, and often a snack or occasionally two in the middle, just depends on how the day goes and what I’m up to. (I consider creamy coffee a snack too as it’s very filling).

The main thing I’m working towards is moving more. Just walking would be a good start, baby is nearly a month old so getting out and about a bit more. Typically as the weather turns Grin

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 24/09/2019 16:59

Hi everyone!

I tried on a dress that wouldn't do up a couple of months ago; now it fits nicely :). It's a sixteen. I have officially dropped a size!

I'm doing 18:6 at the moment, which I'm finding very easy.

Today's food:

B: yog, nuts, seeds, cranberries.

D: lentil dhal, naan bread, strawberries.

See you tomorrow!

twobambinos · 24/09/2019 18:59

Well done Miles @cricketmum84 crazycat on the dresses that is great going.i have a few items I'd love to get back into. Fingers crossed it will happen soon.
and well done all the other losers.

I think I joined this thread at the start and haven't been back. My motivation was just super low of late. Started again yesterday and so far so go which is longer than any attempt has lasted me this year so day 2 down. Two days of good eating and good exercise. Current weight 10st 8. First goal to see 9st anything.
Keep up the good work everyone.

Mrscog · 24/09/2019 19:15

Well done everyone, great results. I too have a barometer dress - it currently goes on but is not decent to wear, if it fits perfectly I’m at goal. I’m going to give it 10 days before trying it on. Had a fishcake with broccoli for dinner and some dry granola. So that’s me done until tomorrow - I’m working my way up to longer fasts. I’m up to 14 hours at the moment but could hit 16 hours tomorrow.

WoollyFoolly · 24/09/2019 19:23

Well done @MilesJuppIsMyBitch! It's so lovely to see the continued progress on this thread, it's really motivating!
Had a great chat with the seamstress and in about a week's time I should have 4 good-as-new dresses I can actually wear! It was nice to get lots of compliments on what I've lost, still no-one else has noticed or mentioned it 😆. Although I am still wearing the old size tops, they are just getting baggier and baggier so at some point I'll have to replace those.
Didn't manage to get lunch today, just had some snacks so had a spicy bean burger in a big old bap with melted cheese and fries onions for tea to take advantage of leftover calories - delicious!

2018SoFarSoGreat · 24/09/2019 21:14

well done all you fabulous losers!

I'm not doing as well this month. 3lbs down, but should be more. I have been sticking to what has worked, and in fact increased my steps significantly (18,555 on Sunday!) but seem to be stuck. I have reached that 182 lbs number that is the one my body seems to be really happy at. Once I get below that, I feel it will be easier. I hope.

I need to up my water intake. It is the only thing I can see that might make more of a difference. I bought a soda stream for my office - let's see if that is a good incentive.

Mammyloveswine · 24/09/2019 22:49

I only started on the 16th as signed up to a body transformation intensive program... first weigh in tonight... and I've done it!! I've lost half a stone!!! Totally buzzing!

FashionFoodLaughs · 25/09/2019 06:44

Love the user name @Mammyloveswine congratulations on your loss, I’ve got 1.5lbs to go

HollyTheHarrier · 25/09/2019 07:10

Well done @Mammyloveswine, @MilesJuppIsMyBitch, @Crazzzycat and @cricketmum84 (and probably others that I’ve missed, sorry) on your weight loss and fitting back into dresses!

I finally braved the scales and I’m up 0.9kg 😬 I can’t have actually gained that much weight given that reflects 5 days of not tracking but hardly binge eating, and two days of being well within calories. Going to aim for a couple more careful days before I weigh in again

cricketmum84 · 25/09/2019 07:20

Morning all.

Huge well done on all the losses and dresses :) I'm so proud of us all.

@HollyTheHarrier is it possibly just water weight? I agree with leaving it a few days before you weigh again.

I caved yesterday and had a vegan roll from Greggs. It's just so hard when it's pretty much next door to work!! I tracked it though and didn't have any lunch so I think I made up for it. Plus I worked from 8am to 11pm so no time for snacks...

Still 19.6 today!!

Plan is:
L - Morrison's salad bar staying away from anything creamy or carbs.
D - quorn pieces in vegetable gravy with a little mashed potato, mini frozen Yorkshire and some broccoli.

Wishing us all a successful and happy Wednesday!!

NotNowMrTumnus · 25/09/2019 07:25

Can I join? I’m feeling a bit bloated and the scales say that I have out on 3kgs since the start of September Sad

Mammyloveswine · 25/09/2019 07:32

Thanks @FashionFoodLaughs unfortunately it's wine that got me into this mess!

Ive got 13 pounds to lose in the next 5 weeks as part of my program so need to be extra strict! Going to up my running!

I'll have another stone ideally to lose after but going to slowly try and lose that. Think I'll rejoin slimming world but base my meals on Michael
Moseleys fast 800.

Great inspiration on this thread!

Mrscog · 25/09/2019 08:28

Right I resisted an early weigh, and have my 11am early lunch/late breakfast with me. Good luck for today everyone - enjoy those healthy choices! As an aside I do feel tons better for eating healthily for just 2 days.

cricketmum84 · 25/09/2019 08:43

Ooh and I've had to safety pin today's dress because my poor boobs have shrunk so much.

I desperately need new bras.

OP posts:
WoollyFoolly · 25/09/2019 09:01

@Mammyloveswine - is that half a stone in a week?! Wowsers, that's a great kick start for you!

Bang on 12.8 this morning so am super close to reaching 12.7! If I get there before the end of the month then that's my September half stone target, 2 stone total weight loss AND reaching normal BMI all in one go!
The last couple of lbs really seem to have made a big difference in my shape, I felt like my belly didn't look too different for ages and now all of a sudden it's deflated!

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 25/09/2019 09:17

Congratulations Mammyloveswine! Brilliant loss.

Yes, I'm pleased about the dress, although I don't actually like how I look in it. But then, I don't like the way I look in anything.

Weirdly, the scales aren't showing any lies, but I'm definitely thinner!

It's a White Stuff cotton one with no give in it, so I trust it's feedback Grin

Plan today:

B: yoghurt, nuts, dried cranberries, seeds
L: salmon, roasted-Mediterranean veg, couscous.

Have a great day everyone!
