Hello @TantricTwist and @DottieLottie1 ☺️

We're close to 1k on our old thread and I thought I'd start this one whilst I remember and the other one is still open so I can point you to it!

We can finish the other one first if it'll make anyone itch leaving it unfinished 😀

Here's to getting to our goal weight/sizes during this thread! 🥂 (The next one we'll be maintaining!)

See this is what I find baffling about weight and BMI. In 5ft 4 and at 9 1/2 stone I’m a size ten. But people tell me I look too thin and I don’t look well in photos. But I know it’s a healthy weight. However I find it difficult to maintain unless I starve myself.

This time around I’m aiming for 10 stone which is at the top end according to BMI but I need to be realistic as I can’t keep yo-yoing like I do.

DottieLottie1 · 12/01/2020 11:05

Morning!

Honestly, I think it comes down to your bone structure. Some people are bigger boned than others. I'd say I'm medium boned but have slight wrists and ankles. I in no way have any training in this field so I'm probably talking b#@*$x though 😂

Off to an american pancake house shortly but will keep it simple- lemon and sugar! Then lots of walking. Might go into the town and go to the bowling alley. Dinner at a French rustic place. Home tomorrow.

I'm hoping all the walking will counteract the cocktails I've consumed! Though I've only had 3....

Enjoy your Sunday everyone 😊

TantricTwist · 12/01/2020 15:19

@DottieLottie1 Thanks for posting your weight difference, that's inspiring and a great help.

The thing is you're now a size 8 which is pretty bloody amazing really in such a short space of time. You will maintain because you'll still be on here helping little old me and @MrsGrindah and maintaining with @Seer

I've been out and about walking a fair bit today 2.8km 4K steps and have only had tea and coffee so far. Currently got a roast chicken in the oven which I'm hoping to use for Ramen soups in the next couple days with what's left and salads.

I'm medium boned I think as when I'm slim I look slim. DD is small boned as she looks much more dainty and delicate than I ever did. She's so long and lean as is DS which makes me look twice my size when I'm stood next to her.

TantricTwist · 12/01/2020 15:23

I actually have a mini goal as I have a big event in a months time so I want to look as best I can for that. I'm wearing a floaty dress that you can tie up at the back so it doesnt matter if I lose weight (I'm hoping to lose at least a stone by then) although anything will be great.

TantricTwist · 12/01/2020 15:27

Enjoy the rest of your weekend break @DottieLottie1 and go wild with those cocktails tonight, Cheers 🍸🍹

DottieLottie1 · 12/01/2020 15:41

I might have a couple @TantricTwist,

I love a mojito and Pina Coladas! The weekend is for a DRs birthday, it's been fun 🙂. More fun to come and then back to the normal way of life from tomorrow evening.

I've got a few dresses that I wore when I was bigger that still look ok but more floaty than before.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend. 😊

Seer · 12/01/2020 16:35

Afternoon all!

Brilliant work getting on the scales @TantricTwist as much as it's scary, it does really help to focus the mind on what you want.

My secret dieting stats are:

5'7

May 2019: 12 stone 13lb (heaviest I've ever been, even when pregnant I think)
Size 16 (even tho I didn't think so!)

Now: 11 stone, 1lb
Size 10 and v happy here

Lost 26lb in 6 months so fairly slow and steady.

I'm medium boned too tho with slight ankles and wrists like @DottieLottie1 I'm also more muscular than average (big biceps and quads from a previous sport)

I never look very slight even when I've got hardly any fat on me - I just look out of proportion because my arms, hips and thighs are still big!

I've just ordered some dresses from Silk Fred, I risked ordering size 10s, and they fit perfectly!

Have had a lovely day prepping for tomorrow's photo shoot, taking the dogs for a walk into town with dh and the DCs and then now home making dinner and drinking the last of the vegan Baileys! Thinking of you Dottie! 🍹

B: vBLT
L: fast
D: mushroom pie, roast potatoes and veg

S: v baileys, might have a spritzer

Haven't worked out cals yet but I reckon around 1500 cals

Have a lovely rest of your Sunday all!

I've only watched one episode of sex education and I don't think I saw or remember GA's character @TantricTwist I'll have to watch it again 😀

Also you know we were talking about famous people we look like? Dh and I were talking about that the other day and he said I'm most like... dannii minogue! 🙈 when she was on X factor people often said it but I conveniently forgot that 😂

It's the eyes and colouring apparently 🤷🏻‍♀️

@MrsGrindah @MyGhastIsFlabbered @Threadbaretoe ... who do you most look like?

OP posts:
Seer · 12/01/2020 16:59

Me again! Re maintaining... my plan as of tomorrow is to stick to two meals a day (except on rare occasions) and eat what I intuitively feel is right or fancy.

I naturally prefer to eat tonnes of veg so it's not like I'm going to suddenly want to eat masses of cakes or something.

I was doing that from early Dec to Xmas and stayed the same weight so I'm hopeful it'll work.

I'll only SD after holidays etc to get back to a happy size again.

OP posts:
MrsGrindah · 12/01/2020 17:16

Apparently I look like Sharleen Spiteri from Texas or Tamsin Greig. But I’m not as slim as they are yet!

Seer · 12/01/2020 17:34

Oooh SS is a real beaut @MrsGrindah ! 😍

OP posts:
MrsGrindah · 12/01/2020 17:58

Aw thanks @Seer although nobody has said it for a while!

Seer · 12/01/2020 18:10

Keep on this path and I bet it'll come @MrsGrindah

My sister gave me a huge compliment on my bone structure and skin earlier... I'm sure that's got a lot to do with the weight loss.

OP posts:
TantricTwist · 12/01/2020 19:06

@Seer maybe she's in more of the later episodes where she features a lot more, she's brilliant in it. Thanks for posting your pre and post weight as well. I feel much more motivated now with everything. Hopefully I'll have that magical fast weight loss the first few weeks followed by the slower uphill struggle later.

According to MFP I've had 718 cals.
D - Chicken and lots of veg. Roast carrots and parsnips in a bit of honey and oil, sweet corn, green beans, 3 Brazil nuts, OJ.

I want to be less tired and achy and I think the weight must be a big cause of this having never been this overweight, tired or so achy in my bones

Seer · 12/01/2020 23:05

It sounds like you've had a very will powered day @TantricTwist !

I've decided that I'm also going to do the No S Diet to maintain: No Seconds, Sugar (as in foods based on mainly sugar) or Snacks except on days beginning with S.

It's not that much different to how I tend to eat anyway (it's just common sense eating really!) but I hope it will help me be more mindful and keep to good habits as I'm getting used to maintaining.

I'm determined to not only keep to this size but also do it easily and enjoyably to the point where I'm back to where I used to be where I never gave my weight or my food intake a seconds thought but was always slim and healthy. 🙏

Seer · 13/01/2020 08:59

Morning all!

So it's the day of the planned shoot which also means it's the day my maintenance kicks back in.

I've decided to have breakfast for a change as I'll be outdoors not wearing that much so will benefit from some cals to burn!

B: v cheese on bagel (not the most nutritious but I'm out of anything else I would have chosen!)
L: roast veg and hummus
D: v meatballs and spaghetti with broccoli

Have a lovely body-beautifying day, all! ☺️

Morning all!

I'm home. First off, good luck with your photoshoot @Seer. What did you wear?

I've just put on a load and aim to take the dog out for a walk in the next hour or so. I managed about 25 miles walking over the course of the weekend with a little bit of swimming thrown in. I picked wisely when it came to meal times and i didnt snack but did have a dair bit of booze! 😳😬. Today us the day ican really get back on it with no events or celebrations to scupper my plans! I've got a monthish until our dream holiday, so x fingers if I have gained I've got time to get back to where I was. I knew I was going g to fluctuate over the Christmas period but it was definitely more difficult to take at the time!

So far I've had a cuppa followed by a glass of (cold this time) Alpro Chocolate oat milk drink. This is a new product and whilst it's nice I prefer the almond milk version. Dinner will be pesto pasta and Italian breads and meats. If I feel I need a snack I'll opt for fruit. Yep, I'm back o it a d the temptations of Christmas are long gone, well digested! 😂

Enjoy your Monday all 😊

DottieLottie1 · 13/01/2020 13:23
