Hello @TantricTwist and @DottieLottie1 ☺️

We're close to 1k on our old thread and I thought I'd start this one whilst I remember and the other one is still open so I can point you to it!

We can finish the other one first if it'll make anyone itch leaving it unfinished 😀

Here's to getting to our goal weight/sizes during this thread! 🥂 (The next one we'll be maintaining!)

I'm really struggling with hunger pangs this afternoon after having such a low cal lunch (100 cals)! How do you manage with the double fasts / low cal lunches @DottieLottie1 ?!

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 08/01/2020 21:06

@Seer, I've never really eaten breakfast so that's a doddle and I've quite often skipped lunch. So, for me even although its low cal it's far more than I've eaten in the past. It's my main meal that I've got to be wary of. I'm eating out 4 times this weekend on our break so I'm being careful for that. I then I've got my big holiday next school break so I'm hoping to stay at the weight o am currently, I do expect to gain a little whilst away as it's all singing all dancing all inclusive.....

Just had a mince pie, but still under 1000.

MrsGrindah · 08/01/2020 21:06

@Seer Same here! Must be something to do with the moon! I could chew my arm off today

Seer · 08/01/2020 21:42

I'm the same about missing breakfast @DottieLottie1 , I rarely feel even slightly hungry in the morning but missing lunch is a totally different matter! I guess it's what we're used to.

Hope you manage to save your arm @MrsGrindah 😀

I ended up eating a whole raw carrot (gnawed it like a rabbit!) whilst cooking, which kept me going until dinner.

I succumbed to a small piece of chocolate and a spritzer after dinner but I'm still at only 900 cals for the day if I've calculated it right so I'm pleased with that.

I don't think I will make my lunch quite so small in future tho. It's much easier when I include Asian dumplings or lentils and make it more like 160-200 cals!

OP posts:
TantricTwist · 08/01/2020 23:37

B - apple
L - Brazil nuts, cream of chicken soup, satsuma
D - Tesco frozen sweet chilli pizza (was meant to have half but DD declined hers and as I was hungry I just ate it without thinking really), tomato and lettuce salad, apple strudel (DS portion that he declined I wasn't planning on having any) Arghh.

Not great 1700 cals. Got home tired and hungry, cooked, ate, went to bed, just woken up, not feeling hungry or snackish so that's something I guess. Need to plan better.

But at least not wanting to eat my arm right now @MrsGrindah Grin

Seer · 09/01/2020 08:09

Morning!

I'm sure you'll kick into a routine with it again soon @TantricTwist but I know the tiredness doesn't make it easy. Keep going, we're cheering you on!

Typical day of work and school run today. The exciting parts are finishing a milestone on a creative project (which also a bit public and scary!) and speaking to the photographer to plan next week's shoot. Dh is away so I'm going to have leftovers from the other night for dinner.

B: fast
L: roast veg (no oil) & hummus (trying a different tactic today after yesterday's hunger!)
D: roast veg pasta

Should be an easy 1k cal day if I stay on track.

It's going to be a busy day but will fit planks, dancing, KB and a dog walk in somewhere too.

I'm still hanging around in my happy zone, which is fine but I'd really like to see a drop soon!

Have a good day all!

DottieLottie1 · 09/01/2020 09:04

Morning all 🙂

@TantricTwist, I find it easier if I meal plan for the week. I used to think "how do I know I will fancy pasta next Tuesday?" etc but when I've got it in my head that's what I'm having then I do enjoy it. Keeps costs down too. Although I've been secretly dieting😉 my DH and DC like the meals I've chosen (quite easy with DH as he naturally eats healthy anyways), the only difference is I will often serve my dinners up with a side of salad I stead of what they choose.

@Seer, congratulations on getting to that project milestone! 🙌🏼

Hectic start to the day as we all missed our alarms! 🤦🏼‍♀️ I guess it's got something to do with being off for a while and then back to school and work 🤷🏼‍♀️. I'm just having a cuppa. I have washed and put out one load of laundry ditto a second in a little while. Then off to work although I'm only doing one shift today as it's a DR birthday and I'm cooking for them. I didnt have my midweek tipple last night as I was saving it for tonight 😂.

B&L - fast
D- Sausage Garland and baby potatoes, green beans
S- 🥂

I'd guess around 1600 calories....

Enjoy your Thursday everyone 😊

MrsGrindah · 09/01/2020 17:52

Hi All
Don’t worry my arm survived intact! Big big news ....I FORGOT to eat lunch today. I never do that! So I’m having an extra big evening meal tonight but it will only come in about 500 cals.Managed the hula hooping already.
My current skinnies are getting too big! Refusing to buy any more new jeans though until I hit the target weight and then I’ll be buying those Levi’s! I’m sooooo enjoying digging stuff out of my wardrobe.

One thing that is frustrating me is I can’t seem to lose any more off my waist. However it’s only 9 days after Xmas really so perhaps I need to be patient

DottieLottie1 · 09/01/2020 18:41

@MrsGrindah, honestly weight loss can come in fits and starts! I've had weeks of losing a relatively substantial amount then stalled for several despite staying on plan. I still haven't got my head round it all 😜. Aa long as your generally heading on a downwards trend it doesn't matter. Glad your skinny are becoming baggies 😂. The Levi's await.... 😊

Seer · 09/01/2020 18:49

Thank you @DottieLottie1 ☺️ We all nearly overslept yesterday - thankfully dh woke up and then woke us all up just in time!

Glad your arm is ok @MrsGrindah 😀 I share your waist struggles. I would love to lose another half inch but so far it's not playing ball. I live in hope. 🙏

Bizarrely, it seems i might wind up having two separate photo shoots in 4 days! Which makes my life sound far more glam than it actually is! The one that'll happen tomorrow wasn't planned until now and I'm soooo glad I was already focused on getting back into a good shape.

I need to plan my outfit for that tonight 😱

I'm feeling v pleased with myself for keeping on track today. I'm currently at 985 cals. I might have a piece of chocolate later but I'll still be around 1k cals.

Have managed to do most of what I planned today but ran out of time for kettlebells. Will do them tomorrow instead.

Interestingly today @DottieLottie1 I had planned earlier in the day, so not that advanced, that I was going to cook pasta and use up some of the bolognaise I had in the freezer. It was filling and delicious and no desire to snack since. I need more pasta in my life with a nice side salad which is what we had today. I will buy a set of scales soon @DottieLottie1 because it really is impossible to keep a check on things without one. I'm so terrified the shock of it will set me back though Confused

@Seer Having watched 'Sex Education' on netflix although I don't imagine you quite like Gillian Anderson's character, somewhere close Grin

@MrsGrindah always good when those jeans slide off.

B - Apple
L - Heinz tomato soup, brazil nuts
D - Pasta, homemade bolognaise sauce, (cheddar, why oh why) lettuce only salad

1379 calories - The brazil nuts are high so I won't have those as my snack in future.

TantricTwist · 09/01/2020 22:15

I'm walking an average of 1.5km a day at work according to the pedometer on my iPhone. I don't have a fitbit as we aren't allowed to wear watches or jewellery, only a wedding band.

DottieLottie1 · 10/01/2020 05:25

Cant sleep. Not sure if its because I'm really uncomfortable or feeling guilty! I slipped up last night and ate a whole box of Irish cream liqueur chocolates 😬 I've felt sick all night. I'm not sure why I did it, I guess I was still a little hungry after dinner 🤷🏼‍♀️. Well, that's the last of the Christmas chocs so I wont be able to do that again. I don't particularly like chocs either and we always have something naughty in the cupboards for the DC and/or DH. Never tempted by those!

Weighing in this morning and I feel huge due to the above. I suspect I've gained. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Anyway, working until late afternoon then off on our weekend away. Lots of walking and eating out, hopefully I can find a balance.

Have a good one all!

DottieLottie1 · 10/01/2020 06:40

Yep, 2 lb gain 😔, knew it! Its probably a mixture of last nights binge and NY overindulgence catching up on me. And to think I covered in excess of 20 miles over Monday and Tuesday alone shows its mainly about what you consume and not what you expend.

I need to get back in the zone now. Hopefully my weekend of walking will make a difference. I'm also going to pick wisely when it comes to dinners out.

Arghh!

MrsGrindah · 10/01/2020 06:51

@DottieLottie1 Don’t beat yourself up ! You know that 2lb can’t possibly be fat. You’ve done amazingly well and giving in to a craving now and then isn’t going to take you off course. If you’d had fish and chips for tea as well, or if it was the third time this week etc. then yes that’s not good,
but a rare incident is fine.Dont let it spoil your weekend away. You deserve it.

DottieLottie1 · 10/01/2020 07:23

Thanks @MrsGrindah, that's exactly what I'd say to others if they did the same! I know its correct but unfortunately I'm my own worst enemy and dont always practice what i preach 😬😳

I'm still very uncomfortable from last nights self destruct behaviour. My stomach is grumbling and turning!

New day and I'll go again.

Seer · 10/01/2020 08:02

@DottieLottie1 I know it's hard seeing a gain but like @MrsGrindah said, you know it can't possibly be fat. You'd have had to have over eaten around 7000 cals for that which you certainly haven't! Sounds more like water retention or just food still in your system (chocolate is pretty heavy!)

Don't be hard on yourself now, you've been doing incredibly well, the occasional slip-up is to be expected. Like me with those random crisps the other night - which is so not unlike me!

Maybe wait a day or two and weigh again?

@TantricTwist it sounds like you're back in a SD routine. 💃Apparently there's studies that show we don't gain the expected weight from eating nuts! 🤷🏻‍♀️ Tho it's wise not to over eat Brazil nuts anyway as they're v high in selenium.

I've just dropped 2oz below my lowest weight so far since starting SD last May! 2oz is clearly not a huge loss but still a result given it's early Jan. And great timing for the shoot later. All in all, I'm pleased.

B: fast (tho debating whether to have breakfast so I haven't got a grumbling stomach for the shoot which is at lunch time!)
L: roast veg and hummus
D: takeaway and wine!

Depending on breakfast will be 1500-1800 cals.

Have a great day all! ☺️

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 10/01/2020 22:56

I ended up weighing again (twice) and came out 1lb lighter, therefore only a pound gained. Not so bad after all, although I need to stop going into meltdown!

Arrived at our BB early evening, ha e been out with the dog. Dinner was out in a diner but I was sensible and went for chicken caesar salad and fries (won't mention the Nacho starter!). Still only 1400 calories with the 🥂.

Lots of walking planned for tomorrow. 😊

Seer · 11/01/2020 09:12

Good woman, @DottieLottie1 💪

I had a real blow out in the end yesterday, which wasn't at all planned but was v enjoyable!

I ate three meals plus two choc truffles, a v magnum and 3 glasses of wine! It's got to have been around 2k cals but hey, a feast day now and then is needed!

No idea of plans yet today except:

B: vBLT
L: fast
D: tbc but something we can eat whilst watching a film

Will aim for 1400 cals totals.

Have a lovely day all! ☺️

OP posts:
DottieLottie1 · 11/01/2020 11:54

Glad you dont beat yourself up over it like I do @Seer!

I was slow to rise this morning but slept really well. I'm just back from a 4 mile dog walk and having a cuppa. This afternoon we are going to walk to the local 'fun pool' in the town we are staying in. I will try and get some metreage in. Then more walking.... Then even more walking to a bar to watch the football followed by dinner out at a South American cuisine joint. Not sure what I'll be having but I suspect a cocktail or 2 😊

Enjoy your Saturday everyone!

TantricTwist · 11/01/2020 12:02

I was the opposite yesterday as I fell asleep early and didn't wake up again so only ate 1200 calories with 1.8k of walking, although there will be minimal walking today.

I have scales !!!! Finally you say !!! Silly woman you also whisper under your breath and about bloody time !!!

@DottieLottie1 enjoy your break and draw a line under those chocolates which to be fair you're allowed to eat once in a while without feeling so guilty.

@Seer Good luck with the photo shoot and grumbling tummy, just drink some water to help stop that.

TantricTwist · 11/01/2020 14:05

Did it, got on the scales with a few battery issues and having to get on it at the right time so as not get an error message Confused

Anyway it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I mean my weight is far more than I thought Blush but the actual doing it was fine, possibly more to do with being irritated at the initial battery issues which took the edge off the actual big reveal.

I've logged deets into MFP and will take it from there. I have a long way to go but I will do it so come 2021 I will be slim and hair free (Lumea) and a new energised, pain free woman.

MrsGrindah · 11/01/2020 14:41

Well done @TantricTwist. I’ve facing up to the music on Tuesday. I’m going to be really brave and post my weight on here too.

TantricTwist · 11/01/2020 19:55

I'm not sure I'm brave enough yet to post my weight @MrsGrindah but I'll let you know by how much I go up and down by each week, hopefully just down to start off with.

Did my second session of the Lumea, I'm sure it was more painful this time, but there was a heck of a lot less preparation hair to remove this time round.

DottieLottie1 · 11/01/2020 22:45

Good on you @TantricTwist, now you've got a 'true' point to start at. I've also tried working by measuring I'm never sure of I'm pulling the tape tighter/looser each time. Therefore accuracy is a bit meh!

For inspiration, my stats....

5ft 9in

Start- 13st 4lb, size 16 - May 2019
Now- 9st 6/7 lbs, size 8 - Jan 2020

However, I'm struggling with the maintaining side as I'm concerned about regaining! It's not o ly about losing as I need to get my head in the right place for this aswel 😬
