grapes are good for you!

MamaGlee · 06/08/2007 17:42

all i can say is and I know you're right

MamaGlee · 06/08/2007 17:44

this is the dress BTW

Its not my usual sort of thing, but it looks good

[hides chocolate cake]

WigWamBam · 06/08/2007 17:58

We will have to agree to differ on that, rebelmum. You won't ever find me agreeing that starvation is a good thing - even in the short term, and even if grapes are good for you!

The dress is lovely, MamaG.

Now step away from the chocolate ...

MamaG · 06/08/2007 18:03

rebelmum i bet you could shite through the eye of a needle

Kewcumber · 06/08/2007 19:52

dress looks lovely MamaG - sure you will look fab. An extra inch really won;tmake any difference. IIRC fasting and deoxing have absolutely no scientific basis. I beleive that your liver (and other organs)very efficiently detoxes you. You might think that living on grapes for a few days makes you feel better but it doesn't actually make you any healthier.

I avoid detox and fasting type diets as they are just as obsessive about food in a way as I as a compulsive eater am in the opposite way and I really have enough food issues to deal with without a failed fast to my list.

Kewcumber · 06/08/2007 19:54

are you a namechanger rebelmum?

Kewcumber · 06/08/2007 19:55

sorry if I should know you but don't recall seeing you on this thread before - damn namechangers (damn old age and memory loss)

WigWamBam · 07/08/2007 08:42

Rebelmum's not a name-changer, she's a pretty regular poster - she hasn't posted on these threads before though (although lots of people do lurk here, apparently ... which is a weird thought!).

OP posts:
JackieNo · 07/08/2007 08:44

Oooo-er - you're right - that is a strange thought, WWB.

WigWamBam · 07/08/2007 08:49

Hard to imagine why anyone would want to, really; I mean, if you're interested because of weight issues then why not post?

And if you're not interested (or just want to take the piss out of our navel gazing ...) why bother?

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 07/08/2007 09:13

I can quite understand someone wanting to read my discourse on my battles with my nemesis - cake. They are very erudite and would no doubt command large amounts of money were I to lower myself to writing for filthy lucre.

Caaaaaake ...

OP posts:
Kewcumber · 07/08/2007 09:29

given the popularity of carrot cake why isn;t there a whole range of vegetable cakes? Turnip cake anyone?

TigerFeet · 07/08/2007 09:47

mmmmmmmmm caaaaaaaake

I lllllllurve de cake

Carrot cake is lovely, dh's favourite, but myself I am a fan of the chocolate fudge cake.

Kewcumber · 07/08/2007 10:05

Does anyone fancy a week to ten days in lovely Kew feeding a couple of very quiet cats in August? 5 min walk from tube which is on undergound line to the Museums in South Kensingotn, 5 min walk from M&S and Botos, 10 min walk from Kew gardens so no need for a car...

MrsJohnCusack · 07/08/2007 10:06

I am about to eat pizza
But - I don't care. It's our wedding anniversary AND I have had a horrible few days with sick children plus seem to be getting tonsilitis myself and I'm knackered and feck it really

Kewcumber · 07/08/2007 10:06

or know anyone who might fancy it - two double beds, a cot and a single fold up (but very comfy) bed. Though very very messy spare room would need to be tidied first.

And wireless internet connection...

Kewcumber · 07/08/2007 10:07

Pizza is Ok for wedding anniversaries.

JackieNo · 07/08/2007 10:08

I think there's courgette cake too.

Am probably going to have a very active day today - I've been for a lumber already and DD wants to go swimming today too.

JackieNo · 07/08/2007 10:09

Pizza definitely OK for wedding anniversaries, MrsJC. Poor you with the sick DCs - you've really had a time of it recently haven't you. Maybe the pizza will stave off the tonsilitis (or maybe you need wine for that).

Kewcumber · 07/08/2007 10:10

WWB - don't fancy a week in London? DH could come and join you for the bank hols...

MrsJohnCusack · 07/08/2007 10:22

yes we have all been sick FOREVER am totally fed up

I'd do it like a shot Kew, but obviously can't. bet someone will want to though

TigerFeet · 07/08/2007 10:39

Wish I could Kew, sounds fab. I love cats and wireless internet connections

MrsJC hope you are all feeling better soon. Pizza will help, I promise

rebelmum1 · 07/08/2007 10:48

hello, no i'm not a name changer, just looking for inspiration, have got into some bad habits recently. I'm trying to kick start something in my brain.
