Target: 2kgs per month off by Christmas (any method) - anyone?

Just for some moral support/egging on, anyone else joining me with a steady 2kg per month off until Christmas? By any method we like?!

I am going to start (this week) with generally trying to eat less cals a day, less carbs and also try Intermittent Fasting a couple of times a week. Not going mad with crazy diets, and not going to break my neck doing it but also just trying to eat less/move more, and lose a couple of dress sizes over the next few months.

Would anyone like to join me? :)

I didn't realise mine were impacted @KTD27 until I got an infection. It was not a happy time! Then the dentist saying it would have to be taken out under GA was the icing on the cake (sadly not literally, as I couldn't eat cake!)

Have they given you prescription painkillers with the antibiotics? Naproxen and co-codamol (available over the counter) helped me a bit when I had them both. The infection did die down after a couple of days but still.....

Oh yes, I ate mash too. With melted cheese. Shovelled it in at the other side of my mouth. Attractive!

@2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin not just me with the tofu then! Annoyingly uncooked tofu is 'free' on WW and SW but the ready-cooked spongy stuff you buy at the supermarket isn't. But I still don't know how to cook it and make it actually tasty Hmm

KTD27 · 01/10/2019 10:05

Ooh mash and cheese..

KTD27 · 02/10/2019 21:09

2lb off this week. Not sure how ‘real’ it is but I’m taking it!

RubySlippers77 · 02/10/2019 23:07

Some good news then @KTD27!! I think I lost a couple of pounds a week when my teeth were bad too!

Rezie · 03/10/2019 08:18

83.6 kg last week
82 kg this week. I have no idea what works and what doesn't. Oh well, at least the direction is good.

KTD27 · 03/10/2019 09:28

Hell yes! @Rezie that’s great progress

Rezie · 03/10/2019 12:51

Thanks! I'm just not sure how. I feel like I eat the a me and then again 1.5kg and ear the same and lose 1.6kg. It's just so random. Well this weekend I'm ahvign a weekend away with my bf so we shall see what the results are next week. It always involves good food and drinks and treats.

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 04/10/2019 12:15

KT that sounds absolutely awful but I think it is better doing it under GA. When they are impacted like yours they need to drill through your jaw bone and being awake for it is quite traumatic. Also please don't make the mistake of ignoring the "take painkillers every 4 hours however you feel' advice, I thought I felt fine after mine so didn't take the 2nd lot of painkillers but the JAW BONE PAIN omg - that half hour wait waiting for the 2nd lot of painkillers to kick in was awful. Just keep taking them for 24 hours and then it will ease. You'll be fine. xx I've been travelling for a few days so haven't been on any scales. Am also sitting drinking red wine and have eaten a croissant and a sandwich and crisps so am under no illusion that it won't be good when I get back on them. However am ready to get back on the wagon tomorrow. Sorry - no paragraphs!!

Rezie - excellent progress!

KT - sorry if post freaked you out re drilling was trying to be positive re GA but now thinking i have made you feel worse!! I was trying to say it's better and you will be fine!

Grin don’t worry @2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin I will definitely only do it when under GA. I’m under no illusions that it will be pretty. I’d rather not know honestly. Just let me have a (frankly well deserved) nap and wake me up once it’s over.
The pain and swelling is hugely decreased now but omfg the lockjaw! It’s horrific. Dentist says to stretch it and that is painful. Jaw pain is just Sad
I can eat now which is amazing. Have done a bit of self medicating with caramel chocolate button things. Should stop that...

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 05/10/2019 12:38

caramel chocolate buttons sound good.

I've done not too badly today. Toast for breakfast and a tin of soup for lunch. I have made scones for work tomorrow, they are in the oven so I will probably have to sample one just for quality testing purposes. Grin

Dreading my weigh in tomorrow, it's been a week and it hasn't been a good week! Let's see.

I've lost perhaps 1kg since I first posted but I have improved my shape loads by a v simple change to my day. I've started doing press-ups. I used to have pathetic upper body strength but have worked up to doing 40 full press-ups at a time: I try to do 200 a day. I've honestly been surprised at the change - arms are toned, legs much better (no more chin rub!) and my waist and tummy are looking good too.

I've cut down on bread and carbs this week as my IBS has flared up, so that might help drop a kg or so.

Well done to others. Some good results here.

keiratwiceknightly · 05/10/2019 12:48

Oh and sympathies on the tooth!

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 05/10/2019 13:15

Wow Keira...this is motivating...!

OP posts:
KTD27 · 05/10/2019 18:28

Woah! Keira! A full press up is my goal. Like an actual one. Never mind blummin 200!
That’s amazing strength. Bravo

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 06/10/2019 13:48

Whoo! Well done @2slices!
Having a horrid day today. DS has been admitted to hospital. He’s got a heart condition so we have to be über cautious and he can’t stop vomiting. He’s only little Sad this week can go fuck off and get in the bin.
Anyway. I’ve eaten chocolate and a lot of bread. Don’t care.

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 06/10/2019 14:28

Oh no KT, so sorry to hear that. Is it a vomiting virus or something that they are just monitoring him to keep an eye on him?
Do you have the option to stay in there with him?

chocolate and bread sounds well in order. Look after yourself xx

KTD27 · 06/10/2019 14:33

I think so. The worry is that he will throw up his meds. They don’t think he has so far. I’m sure it will pass he’s just a trickier customer than most three year olds Smile

Pinkroseuk · 06/10/2019 15:47

Hi all I need to get back on the horse!
Been on holiday the past week and gained 1kg!!!

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 06/10/2019 16:02

KT fingers crossed for a big improvement overnight.

OP posts:
Pinkroseuk · 06/10/2019 19:31

Thanks @2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin no it's not too bad as we were out walking each day but still feels like a step in the wrong direction! I had one slice toast today and a veggie stew tonight so very limited carbs!

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 07/10/2019 02:57

74.1kg! Hurrah! (not sure how?! Although I have had no cheese/butter etc over the last few days).

KT I hope that your DS is much better this morning.

Pink hope your 1kg has vanished overnight!
