Target: 2kgs per month off by Christmas (any method) - anyone?

Just for some moral support/egging on, anyone else joining me with a steady 2kg per month off until Christmas? By any method we like?!

I am going to start (this week) with generally trying to eat less cals a day, less carbs and also try Intermittent Fasting a couple of times a week. Not going mad with crazy diets, and not going to break my neck doing it but also just trying to eat less/move more, and lose a couple of dress sizes over the next few months.

Would anyone like to join me? :)

Thanks for the Shona Vertue tip @KTD27! I think £40 for the 12 week programme is reasonable really, considering you get recipe tips too. Is there a forum you can join as well? I did join Our Path which I found really useful, but then fell off the wagon after a holiday and couldn't get back on it Blush

I actually had a good day yesterday and have more meals planned for today. Aiming to brave the scales on Friday!

KTD27 · 25/09/2019 11:58

@RubySlippers77 yes there’s a Facebook group but it’s not hugely active. Lots of very lean active ladies Grin they seem v helpful though. There’s a nutrition booklet which has some nice things at first glance but I’m on ww so just sticking to that as it’s slowly working for me atm.

RubySlippers77 · 26/09/2019 09:32

I do like Jillian Michaels as well @KTD27 but she doesn't do much on FB either which is a shame! A lot of it is app-based (or was last time I looked) and membership was $$$.....

How are you finding WW? I last went when they'd just rebranded, our coach is lovely, I follow her on FB. They do send me special offers still but I just didn't use it, especially after the app wiped my data a couple of times!

KTD27 · 26/09/2019 10:13

I’m finding it ok. Really reaaallllyyy slow. I stayed the same this week even though I’ve been within the ‘budget’ I hope to catch up next week and will just keep pluggging. I absolutely believe that it’s calories in vs out but I find 24 points easier to budget with than 1400 calories or whatever. I’m making better choices for sure. My sights are on a weekend in Israel in 10 weeks I’d like another 10lbs at least. Then Xmas Shock

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 26/09/2019 18:07

Hello! I've been too scared to step on the scales and won't be getting on them tomorrow either after a day of crisps and a mcdonalds!

I don't know what is wrong with me - I know these are the wrong decisions but still do it anyway. :(

Back on it tomorrow.

@2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin oh it’s a bugger when your brain doesn’t play ball. Maybe you need a reset. A weekend off or a change of goal? Forget about the sad step and aim for more exercise in the week or more veg or something? A different focus perhaps. I dunno. If there was an easy way I’d be a millionaire. One foot in front of the other and we will get somewhere I guess. Gin here have a drink there’s not many cals in a gin Smile

RubySlippers77 · 26/09/2019 23:48

Flowers for tomorrow @2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin - some days are just hard work!!

I couldn't get my head round SmartPoints @KTD27 having first done WW about 20 years ago Blush although I have friends that love the new(ish!) system! I would love to have a focus on exercise/ me time but so much depends on what time the DC go to bed. It was almost 9pm this evening before a desperately tired DTS1 finally fell asleep - hence why I'm on here at almost midnight instead of much earlier as planned!

Rezie · 27/09/2019 07:59

83kg last week
83.6kg this week

Only difference is that I've started to drink 2 cups of tea/day cause I'm not well. Damn it.

KTD27 · 27/09/2019 16:11

I’ve cooked cake for Rosh Hashanah. Can’t. Stop. Eating. It.

RubySlippers77 · 27/09/2019 23:35

@KTD27 I avoided all the Macmillan coffee mornings today!! I mean I would happily given them a couple of quid but not eaten the cake!

I haven't had carbs all week and feel much better for it. Meeting a friend tomorrow and we usually have coffee and cake - going to try my hardest to break the habit.....

AF started today though so I have had chocolate. There was just no getting away from it!

Hope you feel better soon @Rezie

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 28/09/2019 05:55

happy Rosh Hashanah KT.

I've had cereal AND toast for breakfast but have a lighter day ahead planned. 3 bean salad for lunch and dinner. possibly a baked potato.

Week 1 67.6kg
Week 2 66.5kg (yey)
Week 3 67kg (booo)
Week 4 65.3kg (yey)
I'm a human yo-yo! 😂

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 28/09/2019 13:55

that's more than 2kg down isit - fantastic!

OP posts:
KTD27 · 28/09/2019 19:43

Isit that’s amazing!!!

Isittheend · 28/09/2019 21:09

Thank you 2slices and KTD. I'm really pleased and knowing I needs to tell people here is keeping me (mostly) on the straight and narrow!
We're going out for a posh meal tomorrow night so I know that bump is coming but I 'll try to be good the rest of the week.

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 29/09/2019 16:12

Enjoy your posh meal isit - let us know what you had!

Still at starting weight for me.
Have been militarily diligent today though.

B: oatmeal, unsweetened almond milk & cinnamon
S: 2 slices of apple
L: 2 protein wraps, lettuce/tomato & a bowl of parsnip soup
D: small portion of hakka noodles & tofu in a sauce.

Hoping the tofu/sauce hasn't put me out. According to Noom I still have 36 calories left for the day, but who knows if she is telling the truth. Grin

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 29/09/2019 16:14

looking at that, now I am wondering why I didn't just have one wrap at lunchtime. Confused

RubySlippers77 · 29/09/2019 23:41

Well done on your weight loss @Isittheend and hope you enjoy your meal tonight!

Sounds like you've had a good day today 2Slices? I haven't eaten that much but it has been mainly chocolate Blush AF has arrived with a vengeance. I'm on 15K steps though, hoping it will all cancel out.

Oh and I love tofu but am terrible at cooking it..... if you have any tips please let me know!

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 30/09/2019 03:07

I picked it up from the Chinese Ruby so no tips here! Blush

Have an actual genius diet tip. Get an infected wisdom tooth then you can not actually open your mouth to fit the food in.
So so so annoying and sooooo sooore!! Sad
Off to dentist today and hopefully antibiotics will mean I can make up for it tomorrow. How’s everyone’s weekend been?

2SlicesOfLimeInThatGin · 30/09/2019 14:57

oh no KT! Are you going to get it taken out? Is it in a difficult position or will it be relatively easy?

OP posts:
KTD27 · 30/09/2019 18:27

Oh it’s impacted in every single possible way. The bottom ones are the same so the dentist is going to refer me and I’ll have to have them all done under GA. I’ve been avoiding it for so long I just need to bite the bullet and do it.
I’m on metronidazole which is AWFUL and the only antibiotic you literally can’t even sniff alcohol on Sad WAIL. We had a lovely weekend of wine planned to celebrate the end of sober September. Looks like I’ll be doing sober October until next week too. Won’t hurt the weight loss though in fairness.

RubySlippers77 · 30/09/2019 23:35

I feel your pain (literally!) @KTD27, happened to me a few years back. Think it took about six months for my hospital referral to come through and then a week or so to recover from the GA. I didn't want to have it done but the dentist told me the tooth would only keep getting infected Sad

I lived off Ribena and Slim Fast for a couple of weeks after the op. It was great for weight loss but not a method I'd recommend!

Still feeling awful from AF today. Poor DC had chips for lunch and pizza for dinner - damn you Pizza Hut with your easy to use app, quick delivery and yummy garlic bread that even fussy DTS1 likes! - and still all I want to eat is chocolate and gin

KTD27 · 01/10/2019 06:42

Oh ruby! It’s hard to stay away from the chocolate with af I hear you.
I’m in so so much pain. It’s awful. I’d have them taken out now this hurts so much and they’ve never ever been like this before. This is clearly one which has decided to start moving into position and got itself into trouble. Why it couldn’t have just stayed where it was is beyond me. Stupid not wise tooth.
Will have to stock up on some easy to eat food today. I can’t imagine whatever I lose tomorrow at WW will be ‘real’ but I was doing ok this week until yesterday so maybe some of it will be
