I'm fed up with being fat.

Anyone fancy joining me, starting from tomorrow with a weigh in?

It would be lovely to have some company.

I'm going to use today to stock up on healthy food and purchase some bathroom scales.

Yes it was a shopping session which finally tipped me over the edge into wanting to do something about it! I went it for dinner with friends tonight (not a great start to a health kick) but at least it was Japanese and not fish and chips Grin

thisisgettingridiculous · 08/07/2019 22:55

Day 1 done. Logged my calories on mfp and I am within target. Usually I am around double due to stupid pointless snacking! Feeling good but frustrated I have to keep doing this to see results! Lol. I want the weight to drop off instantly ...

sevenandeight · 09/07/2019 06:38

Morning everyone

Day two, have woken up starving! I'm really pleased that I managed the first day yesterday without any slip ups.

I am meeting my mum in town later for coffee. I will resist cake. My grown up daughter is round for tea tonight and we are having jacket spuds and salad, no dessert.

Have a good day, and let's be good Grin

I haven't yet worked out how I;m dieting other than trying to stop eating vast amounts, and binging on cheese in the evening, but i need to do something. I might dust off my Shred DVD as well.

FannyFeatures · 09/07/2019 09:22

Morning all :o

Evil herbivore I hope your DS feels better today, scary when stuff like that happens!

Seven and eight must be in the air, I'm ravenous this morning too.

Trying to plan for today, as I'm working 2-10 and don't fancy pizza for dinner...

Nearly reached for the snacks a few times yesterday but I made a sweetened tea to kill the craving instead then didn't even have my planned yogurt and cherries as I wasn't hungry by the time I sat down for the evening. Feeling quite pleased that I didn't just eat it because it was there :)

iloveruby · 09/07/2019 09:26

@sevenandeight I'm hungry too!!! Woke up late so not had time to have the very healthy breakfast I've prepared.

Got to be disciplined at work now and avoid crossaints / pastries etc

Hi all,

I avoided alcohol and snacking after dinner last night. I have had breakfast and am thinking about water and various tea/coffee until lunchtime. I was shocked by the scales yesterday. Keep it up everybody!

Drinkandknowthings · 09/07/2019 11:01

Well I successfully managed a fast day yesterday (although I did get tempted into having a non- alcoholic beer by DH). I feel like now I’ve managed to do one properly, it’s easier to do the next ones.

I need to to sort some breakfasts they don’t involve bread. I used to love overnight oats so must start making those again.

Apolloanddaphne · 09/07/2019 11:41

I managed my fast day fine yesterday too. I feel hungrier today but maybe that is because i know i am allowed to eat. I am now worried about eating too much on a non fast day.

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 09/07/2019 12:27

I’m trying to up my exercise but I do think at the end of the day it’s all about the portion control for me - anyone else find this ?!

FannyFeatures · 09/07/2019 13:00

Mostly I think there's something behind the saying "you can't outrun a bad diet".

I'm building up to adding in exercise to my routine, I walk everywhere and have 2 physical jobs so I'm not unfit but definitely don't think I'm fit either!

Right finally got my day planned:
B: Cherry Bakewell baked oats
L: Picky bits - carrot, pickles, ham, mini bread sticks
D: Tuna pasta bake
Snacks: Apple & yogurt

ChristinaMarlowe · 09/07/2019 14:13

I'd like to join please!
Kind of in limbo at the moment as coming up 39 weeks pregnant on Saturday but have been making a lot of effort all pregnancy which I'm hoping to see the result of in the next 4 weeks once baby is out. I was 13st 3lb when I peed on the stick and am 13st 8lb now so according to the consultant and midwife (and Google 😂) I should be around 11st 4lb within a few weeks of baby's birth. Bloody hope so!!
I'd like to get back to 9-10st eventually (5"7) so that's my goal. Think there'll be some initial slip ups when I'm allowed back to my beloved wine but will be keeping it to a once a week treat as much as possible. Good luck everyone 😊

Pinkiii · 09/07/2019 19:24

Hope everyone is doing well.

Was so hard not to snack last night and I was sooo hungry when I went to bed but proud of myself this morning for not giving it lol

I know its prob not the healthiest way but I am doing a fasting diet the first week or so, so essentially one meal a day, with little carbs but lots of protein

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 09/07/2019 19:39

I have the munchies ... but resisting and trying to distract with killing eve s2!!

MilesFlora · 09/07/2019 20:05

Sounds like we’re all hanging in there on day 2. I’m happy I’m sticking to my plan so far...I was with my DM tonight for dinner and she gave me rice pudding with strawberries for dessert and I only ate the strawberries- which is completely unheard of for me Grin

It’s great to feel the accountability of this group without having to pay a tenner each week and sit through a meeting!

Apolloanddaphne · 09/07/2019 20:08

I was on a non fast day but still kept and eye on my calorie count. I was somewhere around 1500 or so which is fine.

FannyFeatures · 09/07/2019 21:15

Bit of unexpected exercise today.

Ended up clambering about a soft play area during work today and now walking home as finished later than planned so missed my lift... Also (secretly) refused the cakes made by my young folks during their bake off activity :o

EvilHerbivore · 09/07/2019 21:26

Ending on 1489, just under target but happy enough with that

thisisgettingridiculous · 09/07/2019 21:59

I am doing well on day 2, just over 1500 but stuck to my IF window and feeling good generally. Aiming for an early night tonight - sleep is really important for me as so much of my weight gain is overeating due to "tiredness"

Smokeonthewater · 09/07/2019 22:09

Well.. I have failed on day one. I started with Jane Plan. Horrible muesli for breakfast. Literally two level tablespoons. Bowl of soup for lunch which was okay. Tiny teeny veg provencale for dinner. Over cooked dried out and largely tasteless. I gave up and ate some left over spaghetti bolognaise. I don’t think Jane Plan is for me.
I am so disappointed. I need something I can stick to for months on end and not feel hungry or bored. I hate diet clubs which push unhealthy crap and bad food choices just because they are low fat. I need to cut out carbs really but after a week of that I felt really ill. I don’t know what to do now!

MilesFlora · 09/07/2019 22:37

@Smokeonthewater
Might I suggest a very simplistic “diet” I came across here a few years ago? Called the “No S” and is basically no sweets/snacks/second helpings except sometimes on days that begin with “S” (ie Saturdays/Sundays/Special days (birthdays/holidays etc))
Basically it’s applying moderation to all you eat and delaying a few treats to the weekend. I’ve done it before with good results.

Aim to eat healthily for breakfast/lunch/dinner, but you’ll probably find yourself doing that anyway as you really need to stick to your 3 meals a day. It’s the perfect structure for a deadly snacker such as myself.

Apologies for long winded explanation if you know about it already Smile

FannyFeatures · 09/07/2019 23:20

Smokeonthewater, first of all. I LOVE that song :o... Second of all, don't look at it as a failure!

Your day didn't go to plan but it doesn't mean you've failed, you've recognised that fact so think ahead and work to avoid it happening again. It's a learning curve, habits are hard to break and it can't be done overnight! Every small step is heading towards a healthier you.

I don't have all the answers, but I do know that there's no point beating yourself up over it. I'm done with restrictive plans and following other people's ways of eating too. It's not sustainable for me and nor do I want to obsess over every morsel that passes my lips forever more.

I'm hoping my fruit/veg, minimising snacks and having a bit less of whatever I fancy. It's probably not a quick way of doing it but it puts me in charge and helps me learn to listen to my body which is what I need.

sevenandeight · 10/07/2019 09:26

Well yesterday didn't go according to plan. I ended up eating lunch and dinner out and didn't exactly make good choices.

On the plus side, I didn't binge on chocolate last night so baby steps have been made.

I will be better today as I am home all day and can make better food choices.

Hope everyone is ok. Enjoy your day.
