I'm fed up with being fat.

Anyone fancy joining me, starting from tomorrow with a weigh in?

It would be lovely to have some company.

I'm going to use today to stock up on healthy food and purchase some bathroom scales.

OK. I'm in. I'm 5' 7". My starting weight is 9st 5lbs. My 'stage' weight is 8st 7lbs.

I'm hopeful that I can get there in around three weeks.

Good luck everyone Smile

Oh, for any of you struggling with the weight due to the bloody menopause, then do pop in and join us on the 'Menopausal Fatties' thread too Smile

sevenandeight · 08/07/2019 12:38

Hi @NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace

I would bloody love to drop 12lbs in 3 weeks. Tell me how to do this please. That would be amazing.

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 08/07/2019 12:45

oh, go on then, i'll join.

I'll weigh in tomorrow (but Mondays normally) but will be around 12st8 - 13st, which will give me a BMI of 26-27.

I have just been invited to a function in November. There will be people there that I haven't seen since I was 11st, and I could do with being 11st again. 10st would be better, but not achievable in that timescale without severing a limb.

Drinkandknowthings · 08/07/2019 12:46

On a fast day: just cooked sausages for the kids lunch and I didn’t have any!!! Usually I cook the whole packet and have them cold the next day - but usually there aren’t any left the next day because I’ve eaten them. Today I just cooked enough for them for today.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 08/07/2019 12:55

Hi @sevenandeight

So my typical diet will be:

Breakfast: 2 x eggs/fish/steak (some good quality protein) + spinach

Lunch: Homemade chilli/fish curry/lentil dhal + salad

Dinner: Steak/fish/quorn + 40g pasta (on a training day) + plenty of vegetables

I drink a pint of skimmed milk a day and add a couple (maybe three) pieces of fruit as and when.

I don't eat bread or processed sugars — not because they affect weight loss but they don't half mess my delicate tummy up (that's definitely got worse as the menopause kicks in, grrrr). And I don't drink — just because I don't — which does help.

If I stick to that faithfully, then I'll shift at least four pounds as week. It may take a little longer as I do go out for dinner if the opportunity presents and the company is desirable Blush

Let's see if I can do it in three. This thread will really help me stay focused so thank you for starting it Smile

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 08/07/2019 12:57

Well done! I also need to stop mopping up everything that my baby doesn’t eat!! Just found the packet of French fancies I bought when I thought a friend was coming over for a cuppa on Friday...must not eat them! I might actually take them for donation to the food bank when I go to the shops later then they will be out of harm’s way!

WalkAwaySugarbear · 08/07/2019 13:06

Still only 1kg down.
Week two weigh in: 1 of 20kg down.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 08/07/2019 13:08

I might actually take them for donation to the food bank when I go to the shops later then they will be out of harm’s way!

Great plan. You will feel great and somebody else will really enjoy them Smile

Doseydots · 08/07/2019 13:10

Checking in with my weigh-in @ 11 stone. My heaviest yet. Oh well only I can do something about it.

Having a lovely salad for lunch and I am really enjoying it. I need to remind myself of this when I am binging in naff food.

iloveruby · 08/07/2019 13:46

Hello!! Fab idea for a thread and perfect timing as I have just restarted my weight loss efforts!

I currently weigh 13st 4 which is about 3.5 stone over weight. Last year I lost a stone but have plateaued.
I'm starting on the blood sugar diet today and I also use the noom app.

Good luck everyone!

NewStartYetAgain · 08/07/2019 14:10

3.4lb lost since last Monday! Think that was helped slightly by the chest infection and my lack of interest in anything other than lying on the sofa.

LittenKitten · 08/07/2019 14:46

Can I join please! Weighed myself for the first time in ages and I’m about 9 pounds heavier than I was this time last year when I wanted to lose weight Confused I’d like to lose at least a stone, more would be great but I want to feel FIT and STRONG more than anything.

sevenandeight · 08/07/2019 14:52

@NewStartYetAgain

Well done on your weight loss. Sorry that you have been feeling unwell.

Pinkiii · 08/07/2019 15:10

Weighed in this morning, im 70kg/11st16lbs

Ideal weight would be around the 9stone mark, but i’m not going to focus on the final number as I find if I don’t lose quickly i get disappointed and break my diet

HumptyNumptyNooNoo · 08/07/2019 15:27

Ok - day one - 169lbs ! I'm 5'7" hoping to get to about 150 ish

EvilHerbivore · 08/07/2019 16:39

Due to a snowballing busy day culminating in a trip to A&E with DS1, I've only just had breakfast! Accidental dieting going on today!

sevenandeight · 08/07/2019 16:48

@EvilHerbivore

I hope that your son is ok?

EvilHerbivore · 08/07/2019 16:50

He fell headfirst on a rock and he's had to have it glued - he's surprisingly alright though considering

Littlepigsmig · 08/07/2019 17:10

Weighed earlier, 13st8lbs I'm 5ft 10in so could do with losing two stone to be in a healthy BMI.
Completed C25K so going to keep that up both for physical and mental health.
Diet wise, going to reduce carbs and sugar as I do feel better when I do.

Doseydots · 08/07/2019 18:43

Can I ask those doing 16:8, I do like a glass of wine the odd evening and wondered if I should start from when I have finished it. Am I just kidding myself that a glass of wine is food so I don’t have to include it during my fasting period.Hmm

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 08/07/2019 19:39

@Pinkiii you can feel happy that you’re actually a stone lighter than that as 70k is 11 st not nearly 12!!

NewStartYetAgain · 08/07/2019 20:49

I really need to get a grip on mid afternoon snacking! Did really well until kids got home then have thought of nothing but food since. Was my first day back at work today too after a bit if time off with the chest infection and returned to an issue which hasn't helped. I am a massive 'eat my feelings' type of person.

Stuck to keto foods but definitely hit the dark chocolate hard today. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day (issue at work been thrashed out and is our of my control now - I just need to learn to let it go).

Hope everyone has had a good day whichever plan you are following!

ElizabethG81 · 08/07/2019 21:04

Had a good day today, 1200 calories and did 19km on the exercise bike over 2 30min sessions. No idea whether that's any good or not but it's more exercise than I've had in years! It says I burned 280 calories.

sevenandeight · 08/07/2019 21:18

Well that's day one done.

I've been good and not eaten any crap. I feel hungry now though but have used up all my calories.

Usually, this time of day, I'm totally stuffed full of chocolate and it's very strange to feel empty. Am I skinny yet? Grin

I’m game too. I lost 3st 4lb on SW two years ago. Just got to target when I was struck down with chronic pain. Lack of activity, depression and general lack of sustaining it has seen me gain it all back and more. I’m now the heaviest I’ve ever been (heavier than anyone else who has declared their weight on here!). I went shopping yesterday and very little fitted or if it did it looked awful.

So I started again this morning. Less carbs, more protein. Not snacking on sugary crap. I’ve been active cleaning and went to a yoga class (I used to run but I need to stick with low impact activities with my health issues for now).

I plan to low-ish carb (not no carb), conscious eating using Paul Mckenna’s books and CDs ICMYT and hypnotic gastric band. I’ve also read Brain over binge by Kathryn Hansen and been following the podcast which is excellent. I feel like I’m getting a handle on my binges, I just need to reduce my overall intake and increase my activity. I’m back to work after a while off which I think will help, very little time to snack in my job and it sees me doing lots of steps!
