Previous thread here: Half a stone off (or 3kg) in June http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3600209-half-a-stone-off-or-3kg-in-june

Welcome all to half a stone off for July!

As in the June thread I promise to inject some enthusiasm into every day (and try to stay away from Greggs) We saw some amazing losses in June so let's see if we can beat June's total!!

All welcome whether you are fasting, 5:2 12:8, ww, slimming world etc etc.

All I ask for is positivity and for us all to support each other.

Much love and looking forward to Day 1!!!

Morning all.

It's July!!

Starting the month at exactly 100.0kg. Normal weight-in day is Wednesday.

Food plan for today:

Southwestern scrambled eggs
Rocket and spiced Quorn salad
Vege paella

I'm enjoying small amounts of highly spiced food at the moment. Hoping the nausea holds off, as I'm avoiding white carbs!

Have a good first of the month.

crivit · 01/07/2019 07:03

First time I've been on a weight loss thread Shock. Not the first time I've needed to lose weight though unfortunately...

I lost around 6kg earlier in the year and then stalled. I'm also a big old bundle of stress (work related issues, chronic pain condition and a miscarriage a few months ago among other things) which likely isn't helping however I need to lose between 10 and 20kg to get in a healthier place. I don't want to calorie count so I'll just be trying to eat better as well as exercise.

Start point this morning is 75.2kg so I guess my target for the end of July is 72.2!

Best of luck to everyone Grin

cricketmum84 · 01/07/2019 07:07

Well good morning to all! Old and new joiners, lurkers and everyone else I am delighted to welcome you to!!!!

🔥 Day 1 🔥

Today will be quite stressful for me, those of you from the June thread will already know that my little 18 month old cat is in the vets with severe kidney failure. She's having repeat blood tests this morning that will let us know if her kidney function has improved after 48 hours on I.V fluids. Please keep your paws crossed for her!

Plan for today is:
B - coffee and a satsuma
S - mini rice cakes topped with yoghurt and a banana
L - Morrison's salad bar (avoiding the pasta and creamy sauces
D - baked sweet potato and cottage cheese and salad

It's Monday, it's day 1 and it's summer. Go out and be fabulous!!!!

Half a stone (or 3kg) for July

Welcome to July. On holiday so no idea how my weight is holding up (or down). Trying to be sensible but have had wine every day.

Yesterday I had:

Total 0% and melon
Greek salad
A pork tenderloin with mushrooms, halloumi and sun dried toms - was delish - had 6 chips.

Is anyone else finding after a few months on a diet that when placed with a dinner sized meal, they are feeling full half way through? Hoping it's a break through!

peanutbutterismydownfall · 01/07/2019 07:12

Checking in. I need to have a better month this month as my weight on 1st July is remarkably similar to that on 1st June.

BrillyPribble · 01/07/2019 07:15

Checking in for the start of a new month - can't believe we're in July already!
Starting weight today is 13st 9lb. Realistically, with a big family birthday, school holidays plus a little holiday ourselves, I doubt I'll make it 7lb off this month but I'm going to do my best!

cricketmum84 · 01/07/2019 07:19

@BrillyPribble I forgot to post starting weight!!!!!

Starting weight is 20st 10lbs

Hoping for half a stone off before the 20th when I fly off to Bulgaria for 2 weeks of sun, sea, sand, pool and cocktails!

LooseAtTheSeams · 01/07/2019 07:41

Keeping paws crossed for little cat.
Starting weight is 71 kg or just under. Aiming for 68 kg by end July. Going for an Indian meal this evening so will have small lunch!

Fluffiest · 01/07/2019 07:45

Good morning,

I joined the June thread and it was massively helpful to me, I managed to lose 7lbs which I have never done before.

Unfortunately, last night I slacked off and ordered a Chinese and ate loads of it. So predictably I put on a lb this morning.

Starting weight is 9st12. End of July target is 9st5.

Good luck to everyone!

lightlypoached · 01/07/2019 08:01

Pinch punch first day of the month (and no returns!!) 😂😂😂😊

Starting July on 60.7 with 29% body fat (according to my fancy not very accurate scales - but I can use it as a relative measure? )

Aiming for 59.7 by 31 July and 25% body fat.

Off for fasting blood test at the drs so I can look at my cholesterol too.

Game. On.

lightlypoached · 01/07/2019 08:04

@cricket let us know how kitty is. Hoping her useful resilience helps her to heal. 😺❤️

Millie2018 · 01/07/2019 08:04

Weighed in this morning and I’ve put on since yesterday. How does that happen when yesterday I stuck to plan and did a 4 mile walk?!
Anyway, not going to let that bother me. Plan for today:
B. Wheat biscuits and fruit
L. Ham sandwich on brown bread
D. Salmon and vegetables
Snacks: Banana and plenty of water
Exercise: 4 mile walk
I’ve got a meeting at school at 6.30 so confident I won’t be snacking tonight.
Have a good day everyone.
@cricketmum84 I hope you get positive news from the vet today.

lightlypoached · 01/07/2019 08:04

Youthful not useful.

aperocookies · 01/07/2019 08:21

Hello ! Just made a mumsnet account so I could stop lurking and actually join in for July.
My DD is 4 months old and I am at 68kg.
Would really like to get down to 65 by the end of July, got my holiday in August. Back to work in september so would be nice to fit into my clothes and not have to buy new!
Hope this thread motivates me to keep going.
Good luck to all !!

DeadButDelicious · 01/07/2019 08:28

Morning all! First day of a new month and it's Monday which is weigh in day for me! I was very pleased to see a 0.7kg loss on the scales this morning I think I was right about the water retention as I drank 2.5 litres of water yesterday, pee'd for England and my fingers have returned to a normal size rather than the puffed up sausages they were.

This is where we're at,

Weight at end of June: 123.2kg

1/07/2019: 122.5kg

Loss so far in July: 0.7kg

Weight at beginning of 2019: 142.9kg
Total loss so far: 20.4kg (3.212stones/44.974lbs)

So hopefully we are off to a good start and we can make up for last month!

I've prepped all my lunches for this week (I get lazy when it's hot) dinners are always a relatively simple affair of chicken/quorn, vegetables and a potato so that's easily done.

This months Apple Watch challenge is to burn 27,100 calories. So that's my goal for this month. I'm finding that I need to walk a bit further to hit my exercise goals everyday which is good! For example it used to take me 54 minutes to walk to my mums house, pushing the pram, now it only takes 45, I must be getting fitter!

It's lovely and cool here today, I'm waiting on a delivery slot at the moment but I'm planning on getting in a good walk and catching up on my laundry. DD needs a bath as well which is a job and a bit at the moment as she has decided she hates water and cleanliness and screams blue bloody murder. Always a pleasure! The dogs eye ulcer has cleared up a treat so at least I don't have to wrestle eyedrops into her anymore!

Keep us posted on kitty @cricketmum84 hello to all the new faces and good luck to everyone!

Crazzzycat · 01/07/2019 09:05

I’m in! Start weight for July is 77.6.

Now that I’ve made it into the healthy BMI zone I plan to take things a little easier, so don’t really have a goal for this month. We’ll see how it goes Smile

Good luck everyone and fingers crossed for your cat @cricketmum84 🤞

riotlady · 01/07/2019 09:38

Hi everyone! :) I did really well at the start of June and then went off the rails a bit the second half. I’m back on it now, but still gaining?!

Goals for this month

  • Run 3xweek (doing race for life on the 14th!)
-Pilates/yoga 2xweek -5 portions of fruit and veg every day!
Ihatesundays · 01/07/2019 09:43

Can I join too.

I went from 81kg to 77.8kg in June. Although last week it jumped up a kilo again and is creeping back down again. I am desperate to be under 76kg. Although I really need to lose another 10kg after that really sob.
Been doing lots of walking and HITT though and have toned up loads, just need to lose the fat underneath now!

Saladforsantorini · 01/07/2019 09:44

Morning! I’ll rejoin, didn’t loose a lot in June (1-2lbs) but I’m super determined to shift that last couple of lbs before holiday and be under 9 stone.
Starting weight is: 9 stone 4lbs

ProbablyPertunia · 01/07/2019 10:28

Starting off this month at 162lbs / 73.5kg.
Aim is to get to at least 155lbs / 70.5kg, hopefully more :)
Weighed in last week at 165lbs so already 3 lbs down and want to keep up that momentum.
Exercise this week is:
Mon - Arms/abs weights & run with jogging club
Tues - Yoga
Weds - Stretch class & run with jogging club
Thurs - Yoga
Fri - Pilates
Sat - Run with jogging club

3dogs2cats · 01/07/2019 10:40

Morning.starting weight 103.9. Kilos Really hoping to end July under 100 k. Had birthdaycelebrations for our ward this weekend, and I am 60 on Saturday, so fingers crossed I don’t go wild.
Had porridge for breakfast but just picked on a baby bel and generous handful of cashews, so guess that’s lunch.
Salmon and veg for dinner.
Exercise 1 hr walk every day. 40 min swim twice a week. I session yoga. I session weights.i hope!

HearMeSnore · 01/07/2019 10:46

Weighed this morning: 14st 6lb. Will be happy if that starts with a 13 by the end of July.

Having a tea break at work and studiously ignoring the chocolate chip cookies.

WistfulBarnacles · 01/07/2019 11:02

Hello! Can I join? Fully meant to weigh myself this morning and totally forgot (not a great start!) so will weigh in tomorrow Grin

sazzle27 · 01/07/2019 11:15

D-Day!

I'm ignoring the history if the other months I joined in here - fresh start!

I have scoffed a fcktonne of unhealthy food to get all cravings out of my system, ans other than DPs DDs birthday dinner out later in the week, this week will hopefully go to plan!

The plan is to monitor intake using myftinesspal, make generally healthier choices, reduce carbs such as bread and white pasta, replacing for wholegrain pasta (but less), and try my best to avoid any form of bread!

Try to cut caffeine and processed sugars...
Get the food intake under control and then hopefully when we move (awaiting a date), sign up to a gym! Will do measurements before gymming to track loss that way too, but stick to weight for the moment!

Start weight: 91.9kg

cricketmum84 · 01/07/2019 11:21

Baby cat blood tests are in. Really really bad. One of her kidney markets should be under 140, Saturday is was 360 and today it's 960.

She is just having her scan now but it's looking likely we may have her home for a day or so and then have to let her go.

My heart is shattered. I haven't stopped crying all morning. I will never get over losing her. I love her so so much.
