Previous thread here: Half a stone off (or 3kg) in June http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3600209-half-a-stone-off-or-3kg-in-june

Welcome all to half a stone off for July!

As in the June thread I promise to inject some enthusiasm into every day (and try to stay away from Greggs) We saw some amazing losses in June so let's see if we can beat June's total!!

All welcome whether you are fasting, 5:2 12:8, ww, slimming world etc etc.

All I ask for is positivity and for us all to support each other.

Much love and looking forward to Day 1!!!

I didn’t have a good day, I have been annoyed at lack of weight loss so I have spent the day snacking and I had a pudding.

cricketmum84 · 31/07/2019 06:25

Last day of July guys!!! Looking forward to seeing the total losses for the month from everyone. I still haven't found anywhere to get weighed so mine won't be in until Saturday on the August thread. I feel like I've lost weight maybe? I've actually eaten an awful lot healthier than I had been doing at home and surprisingly drinking less on an evening. Probably because I'm a lot less stressed here, anxiety has been very quiet especially when you consider that my brain has been in full on panic mode for so long. I usually take 2 beta blockers a day for panic attacks and I think I've taken 2 since we got here! I'm also doing really well with weaning off mirtazapine.

Food yesterday was good! I had my watermelon in the morning, took the kids for lunch but I just had a water, had about 5 big crisps out of DDs packet. Out for dinner and I ordered a Bulgarian vegetarian satch which was basically a hot skillet brought to your table with grilled peppers, mushrooms, onions, garlic and courgette. It was delicious. I think there was some oil on it but very minimal. I gave in to the desserts though and ordered a chopped but and cheesecake layered thing, had to give half to DH though as I was too full!

Hoping for a similar kinda day today. It's going to hit 33 today so if you want me I'll be neck deep in the pool 😂

Keep on keeping on my lovelies. You are all doing so well. Bumps in the road are short term. Think of the long term goal and how you are going to get there. And if that doesn't work think about me breaking the lounger...

Final weigh in for August - 13st 4lb making a 5lb loss this month. Delighted with that given that I didn't lose anything at all in the first 2 weeks and went on holiday as well. Grin

Millie2018 · 31/07/2019 07:20

Thanks Cricket. My 0.3kg gain from last week remains, but I haven’t added to it and I’m grateful for that.
My total July loss comes in at 1.8 kg.
Plan for today:
B. Wheat biscuits
L. Ham roll
D. Vegetable soup
Snacks. Fruit
Exercise. Going for a swim tonight
Have a good day everyone.

Fluffiest · 31/07/2019 07:45

July has gone by so quickly!

Starting weight in May: 10st6
1st July: 9st12
31st July: 9st4

I'm so happy with that. This thread has been such a great help. Thank you Cricket for hosting and thanks everyone else for making up the nicest thread on Mumsnet!

See you on the August thread!

Ihatesundays · 31/07/2019 08:08

Started the month on 77.7kg and ended on 77kg. Very disappointed ☹️.

cricketmum84 · 31/07/2019 08:09

@Fluffiest thank you :) this thread is like MN #squadgoals 😂

In all seriousness thanks everyone for contributing, supporting, lurking, just for being here. You are an amazing bunch of ladies and I can't wait to do it all again in August ❤️❤️

"Starting July on 60.7 with 29% body fat (according to my fancy not very accurate scales - but I can use it as a relative measure? )

Aiming for 59.7 by 31 July and 25% body fat. "

That was me on 1st July.

Me on 31st July:

60.6 / 31%

Fail.

Oh well. Must try harder.

LooseAtTheSeams · 31/07/2019 09:00

OK, all things considered this isn't too bad and would have been a lot worse without this thread: 70.8kg, which matches this year's low so far!
I'm aiming for 69.8kg by the end of August!
Everyone on this thread is doing brilliantly!

PeriComoToes · 31/07/2019 09:12

DaisyChainsGetBroken · 31/07/2019 09:46

Hello not been on here long but has given me a kick to try and get back on the right track! Started on this thread at 73.9 now 71.6.

Trying to eat less crap in eve. Hoping to join in on your next thread from the beginning.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 31/07/2019 09:51

Started this thread at 79kg bang on
Ending the thread at 79kg bang on.

I am ok with this as I’ve been quite sedentary this month as still recovering post CSection.

Got physio tomorrow so hoping to be cleared to run again, meaning the only way is down for the needle on the scales 🕺

DeadButDelicious · 31/07/2019 10:11

Okey dokey! Final weigh in;

Weight at end of June: 123.2kg

1/07/2019: 122.5kg

8/07/2019: 120.6kg

15/07/2019: 121.2kg

22/07/2019: 120.0kg

25/07/2019: 119.6kg

29/07/2019: 120.0kg

31/07/2019: 119.9kg

Loss so far in July: 3.3kg

Weight at beginning of 2019: 142.9kg
Total loss so far: 23kg (3.622stones/50.706lbs)

I'm quite pleased with that, 3.3kg off this month, 23kg since the start of the year!

I didn't get this months Apple Watch challenge, it's been a low exercise month through one thing and another so I expected that.

I'm off to mark my place on August's thread now. I'd love to get up to 4 stones lost next month!

Well done on all the losses, maintains and even the gains, it may be disheartening but you are trying and that's brilliant! See you in August!

LooseAtTheSeams · 31/07/2019 16:08

DeadburDelicious that's really impressive!
I feel quite optimistic about ending on the equal low of the month since there were a few hiccups and temptations along the way!
Today is:
B malted shredders with soy milk and a peach.
L: itsu noodle thing plus 3 rice cakes with mashed avocado
S: radishes!
D: quorn burger, new potatoes, carrots and broccoli.

Vebrithien · 31/07/2019 17:46

Evening ladies,
Had my final scan today, no growth so had surgery this morning. Took a long time to come round, my heart rate was very low, so needed extra fluids. Am in much less pain now, hopefully can start to heal.
On the plus side, I had the same nurse as last time, and she commented on my weight loss Grin
Didn't weigh in the morning, and slightly tricky to tell now, given the fluid they pumped me with, but around 94.5kg. Will weigh again tomorrow morning, but looking at about 5.5kg loss this month.
Holiday at the end of August, and would love to be in the overweight category for that.
Xxx

Fluffiest · 31/07/2019 18:15

I'm so sorry Vebrithien, wishing you the best recovery. I hope you have some good people around you to give you comfort and support.

Wellthatwastricky · 31/07/2019 21:15

Verbrithien I am so sorry. I hope you are resting and being well looked after ThanksBrew

So to summarise for July, despite a two whole weeks with no loss, my overall result is 9lbs! Bloody ecstatic with that. However I may have sabotaged and gained after a takeaway tonight. Today was just one of those days, awful flat feeling I can't fight - DH has a chronic health issued that has flared up, it's always a background worry and tonight we just needed to relax the rules. Back on from tomorrow...

Millie2018 · 31/07/2019 21:49

Sorry to hear that @Vebrithien 💐

Millie2018 · 31/07/2019 21:50

I went for my swim. Did my hour but couldn’t mange the usual number of lengths, was just too tired. Will weigh in again tomorrow morning for August starting weight but have stuck to plan today. I wonder if struggled swimming because I actually hadn’t eaten enough today.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 31/07/2019 22:10

Take your time @Vebrithien please, look after yourself.

What you’ve been through is shocking and my heart goes out to you. Make feeling better your #1 priority, heaven knows the last thing you need to worry about now is the kilograms.

Having been where you are I’m so sorry this is happening to you and I’m sending you the best Flowers

August is another month and a new beginning.

One step at a time x

lemonbalmtea · 31/07/2019 23:26

@millie2018 best thing to use is a tracker. I have in the past made myself miserable and unwell ( palpatations) through not eating enough. Carb need also increases in last week of period-Im starving then. To be fair I could always eat.

Clocking out on 5lb weight loss for July. See you in August when we will smash the next milestone.

@vebrithien I'm so sorry, Paul is right go easy on yourself, stay on the thread if it helps you, don't feel you have to be losing weight though.

cricketmum84 · 01/08/2019 05:58

So sorry @Vebrithien Thanks

Go gentle with yourself, you need time to recover and recuperate. Sending hugs, love and healing thoughts xx

LooseAtTheSeams · 01/08/2019 07:29

verbrithien so very sorry to read your news. I hope you are taking it easy today and make sure you have plenty of rest.💐

Vebrithien · 01/08/2019 08:48

Thank you everyone for your well wishes. I am well looked after, and in so much less pain already. Having had 2 weeks to get my head round what was happening, meant it has been easier to deal with, compared to the last time.
After the first MMC, I swore to get out of the super obese category, so that something positive resulted from the shock and trauma we'd been through. Watching the kg creep down has been a real positive over the last few months.
My blood pressure, heart rate and waist circumference have all decreased and I feel physically the best I have done for years. Thank you for all of your support.
I'll be over to the August thread shortly!
