Previous thread here: Half a stone off (or 3kg) in June http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weightlosss_chat/3600209-half-a-stone-off-or-3kg-in-june

Welcome all to half a stone off for July!

As in the June thread I promise to inject some enthusiasm into every day (and try to stay away from Greggs) We saw some amazing losses in June so let's see if we can beat June's total!!

All welcome whether you are fasting, 5:2 12:8, ww, slimming world etc etc.

All I ask for is positivity and for us all to support each other.

Much love and looking forward to Day 1!!!

@cricketmum84 I am going to France, but visiting family who live there. So lots of lovely restaurants, wine and meals at relatives houses! I look forward to our visit each year and LOVE the food there, but I want to come back the same weight if possible, so I am planning a daily walk into our hols this year! You're right though - WE CAN TOTALLY DO THIS!

Marking place and joining in!

3dogs2cats · 30/06/2019 15:45

Hello. Love this thread, please can I join? Holiday on 2nd August
Half a stone is a mere drop in the ocean of the weight I need to lose, but if I do it every mont I will be right by Christmas.

Lifepanic1234 · 30/06/2019 15:48

Having a really shit time at life at the moment.Weight ballooning as food only comfort. Depressed. Maybe this challenge will help me. I will brave the scales tomorrow. Good luck everyone.

LosingLola · 30/06/2019 15:50

Can I join please?

I want to lose 49lbs, or 3.5 stone. This time last year, I wanted to lose 140lbs but I've managed to lose 91 of them already. But I'm feeling a bit fed up that I've worked so hard for so long and still have ages to go, so I could do with some motivation and accountability.

Jenfur · 30/06/2019 16:03

@LosingLola that's incredible, well done you! It must feel like a bit of a slog but you're 2/3 of the way there now. This is the home stretch Smile

I'd also like to join, I was overweight pre DS2 and gained another 2 stone that I have to shift to be back to the weight I was miserable at a year ago. Need some motivation and to be accountable. Can't afford to do slimming world groups so trying to do it at home by myself and am also breastfeeding so need to be careful that I still eat enough.

WhatALearningCurve · 30/06/2019 17:04

I'd like to join please. I have a 16 week old baby and I was very lucky in that I got down to pre pregnancy weight within a week or two.

Unfortunately my pre pregnancy weight was the heaviest I'd ever been and I was about to start a diet when I found out I was pregnant.

I keep fluctuating between 13 and 13 and a half stone and don't seem to be able to drop below 13 (admittedly I haven't tried very hard)

I've just weighed myself and I'm at 13st 4 / 186lb / 84kg but I'll weigh myself in the morning for a true starting weight (currently slightly hungover so eaten a lot of stodgy food today).

I lost nearly 3 stone two years ago and was under 11 stone. I'd love to do that again, i have major food issues in the form of ARFID so I struggle to make healthy choices but I find that Protein World shakes work best for me however the motivation is sometimes lacking when I'm bored on maternity leave, it was much easier to not snack / eat loads when I was rammed off my feet at work!

In terms of exercise - has anyone used Kayla Itsines or Results With Lucy?

LosingLola · 30/06/2019 18:06

@jenfur thanks! If I can do 7lbs this month then that will be a seventh of my 49lbs target, and that makes it seem like there's an end soon.

Tralala33 · 30/06/2019 19:14

I would like to join. I have 11 in total I would like to lose, but there always seems to be something that stops me losing weight consistently.

Tralala33 · 30/06/2019 19:18

Does anybody have and recommendations for exercise YouTube videos that I can do whilst the baby naps?

Louise7777 · 30/06/2019 19:20

Can I ask how people are planning on losing. I'm planning on calorie counting with my fitness pal. I previously several years ago lost 6 1/2 stone on weight watch Pro points. Think it was 7 years ago maybe. Got married put a bit of weight on, had child put loads on. I rejoining weight watchers a few months ago but I couldn't get on with the new plan and I follow a Dr on Instagram would was against ww and sw as says plans are not sustainable long term

MilesJuppIsMyBitch · 30/06/2019 19:23

Hi Louise777.

We all seem to be trying different things, but personally I'm using the 8:16 method, where you eat in an eight-hour window & fast for sixteen every day :)

dancemom · 30/06/2019 19:26

I'm in! My weight is creeping up and up. I'm officially over a stone heavier than I was this time last year and when a friend took a photo of me last night I was shocked at how big I looked 🙈

I keep "starting" each Monday and falling off the wagon by Wednesday but I need to find that willpower. I can't have "just one" of anything so I need to go cold turkey.

Weigh in tomorrow morning - good luck everyone!

JeremyCorbynsCoat · 30/06/2019 19:47

I've just signed up to WW 🤞🏼

Louise7777 · 30/06/2019 19:51

Sorry awful grammer on my last post!! Was trying to catch up with casualty at same time lol!! The fasting method wouldn't work for me. I work long shifts with a long commute so I just don't think I could do it. I do know others that have done it and found it very successful

LosingLola · 30/06/2019 20:15

@Tralala33 I recommend Leslie Sansone Walk At Home. It's walking based and there are 4 basic steps to learn so it's really easy, but there are different speeds and lengths so you can progress. Her shortest videos are 5 minutes, and one mile is around 15 minutes.

@Louise7777 I'm doing SW but alongside calorie counting. I don't find the unlimited free food particularly helpful for portion control.

Millie2018 · 30/06/2019 20:50

Hi everyone. I’m joining from the June thread with a month loss of 2.7kg. Thanks @cricketmum84 for setting up. I thought I’d start this month reflecting on the top 3 things I have learnt from last month.

  1. One bad decision doesn’t have to lead to a bad day, week or month.
  2. Exercise helps me to refocus and improves my mood.
  3. Water makes me feel less hungry and more full.
I’d like to lose 3kg this month. @Louise7777 I’m doing a diet called MIND which is an anti-dementia diet, with a list of things to eat and things to avoid. I’m also doing at least 3 different types of exercise for an hour each time, each week. For me that’s 1x swimming, 1x zumba and 1x walking minimum.
HearMeSnore · 30/06/2019 21:17

It's time I joined in, having piled on about 3 stone in the last two years. No diet plan to speak of, just upping exercise, staying away from the cakes and biscuits in the staff room and going easy on the wine. (The last one will be the killer Sad)

See you tomorrow...

NightmareLoon · 30/06/2019 21:52

Back for another month, five weeks until my beach holiday! I've bought my very first bikini (hurrah for high waisted bottoms!) and I want to feel 100% non embarrassing mum. :) Had about 1.5kg loss last month, at approx 159 lbs with completely arbitrary end goal of 154 as that's exactly 11st/70kg.

hopeful31yrs · 30/06/2019 22:31

Followed the June thread. Lost 2.1kg and need to lose 7lbs to achieve a healthy BMI. Probably not achievable but here goes 🤛🏻

hopeful31yrs · 30/06/2019 22:33

Have lost 8.2kg since I started 68 days ago. Also trying to workout everyday for 30 mins

lemonbalmtea · 30/06/2019 22:59

Hello for July. Here's to losing half a stone.

Howlongtillbedtime · 01/07/2019 06:47

Good morning everyone

Weighing in at 13.11
I really want to lose 7 pounds this month but if I can at least get closer to 13 than 14 stone then I will he happy.
My plan today is
Lunch Bol thai curry
Dinner Jambalaya
Snacks mini cheddars and fruit

I am not sure I will get to the gym today (hideous TOTM that is making me feel really rough)

Good luck to everyone today.

TimesAreHardForDreamers · 01/07/2019 06:54

My July starting weight is 11.6
Im pretty chuffed with that as I started June at 12.2 and this is the most weight I've ever managed to lose (and my kids are 6 and 3)
If I can lose 7lbs this month I'll be in the healthy weight range for my height. And I think my goal is between 10 and 10.5 stone.
B- fage and strawberries with seeds
L- my dad's birthday lunch so going to have to be careful
D- salmon and veg
No time for exercise today, but I'll do a bit of walking.

Have a great day everyone!

CortisolandCaffeine · 01/07/2019 06:55

Joining in if that’s ok. Been trying and failing to lose a stone for the last few months.

Got a holiday in August-this is my last attempt to lose it! Weighing in this morning at 11st 1 lb. Got a (rare) day off to do so will keep myself busy and not eat until later.
