Wagon was well and truly lost, hadn't even checked the threads in MONTHS.

Weighed in this morning at my highest in well over a year as 10st5.

I WILL NOT GAIN BACK ALL THE WEIGHT I LOST!

I saw the May thread died a death and I need my gang to help me get back in the ZONE

I don't care what method you are using if you want to join me this month in resurrecting the slenderistas please come on board I have missed you all so much!

Can I join ? I want to lose about 3/4 stone in 5 weeks, Im going to use the 'Lose It' app, really simple to use. Tried it before but didnt stick to it, but I'm determined to this time !

HairsprayBabe · 03/06/2019 10:54

Yes! Hi Hello :)

I probably should have mentioned my goals!

I am getting married in October and want to be about 9st for it - I got down to 9st4 last year after losing 6 stone - so I have about a stone and a half to go in total - my own stupid fault for not focusing on maintaining

I tend to go for a bastardisation of the blood sugar diet - low cal and low carb with some intermittent fasting , I vaguely use MFP and I weigh in every day in order to keep me in the ZONE.

I like to kick a new diet off with a fast day so I am on tea and coffee with skimmed milk until tea time.

I used to be really good at dieting until I started working from home!

You lost 6 stone, wow well done ! Congrats on the wedding, how exciting ! I got married last year and lost a stone in about 10 weeks - no chips, sweets, cakes, chocolate, bread, alcohol or cheese 5 days a week but I have slowly put it back on, want to lose it before I have to put a bikini on. Whats MFP ?

HairsprayBabe · 03/06/2019 11:40

Thank you I already have my dress - got it in January and I am having my first fitting at the start of September, I bought it off the rack in the sale - not for money reasons I just fell in love with it but it was discontinued and they only had the 14 in stock so I just bought it and and will get it taken in.

My Fitness Pal
Free app that tracks calories, you can scan in barcodes and stuff too, plus it has stuff from restaurants so you can know all the calories when eating out too, really handy.

Took me about 18 months to lose all the weigh but I was laser focused - taken my eye off the ball really for a good year so I am not too upset with a whole stone gained but I noticed my clothes are getting a little on the tight side so I want to get a lid on things.

Too many big portions and grazing while WFH really has been the downfall while before I was big from working at a fast food place and just uni weight gain.

I still wear a size 10 but I am noticing somethings are not as comfortable as they once were!

The MFP sounds very much like the lose it app, it’s good being able to scan foods. I’m trying to exercise every day too, but I just keep forgetting I’m useless !

HairsprayBabe · 03/06/2019 13:07

Hello Ello (grin)

Same - I have really missed the chat! I really think it kept me on the straight and narrow for the 18 months it took me to lose the majority of the weight.

I now have the "most important day in my life" coming up and I can't stop picking and grazing at stuff.

Had a light and free Skyr for lunch with some celery and we are having curry for tea - I am just going to have a sauce veggies and quorn no naan or rice.

Should come in sub 500 cals for the day - using the Quim method of a v strict week and a more relaxed weekend.

Wonder if she is still about too - I might tag her!
@QuimReaper

And the rest of the old gang too.. spuriouser, leesmum, Niki, poorpaws and koko....

I am sure there are loads I have forgotten too...

I really need the best thread on mumsnet to keep me accountable!

Oh hello Hairspray me old mucker! How's wedding planning coming? Did you ever solve the bridesmaid dress conundrum?

Yes, the Slenderistas unfortunately did seem to fizzle, but I'm definitely up for a revival, as I too am in serious need of a renewed effort! May just completely destroyed me - I haven't been in the right kg bracket at all this year apart from on one single occasion after a 9-day sustained effort, and I ended up despairing a bit; then May was just an absolute shitshow of mid-week socialising and long weekends which threw me completely.

Finally June is looking much emptier and I'm determined to kick at least a couple of kilos in the next six weeks so this is well-timed!

Elloello are you koko under a name change?!

pumpkin I want to lose about 3/4 stone in 5 weeks Shock Is that three-quarters of a stone or did you mean pounds?

QuimReaper · 03/06/2019 13:26

Oops sorry pumpkin I was quoting you there but had a brain-fart moment...

HairsprayBabe · 03/06/2019 13:58

Yes Quim! glad to have you on board!

I lost my MN log in and was frankly to lazy to reset it so just watched from a far for an age - but i stepped on the scales this morning and nearly had a heart attack

I have a friends Hen party at the end of July and there is hot tubs etc - so I want to not look so lumpy!

I KNOW I can do it which is the annoying thing - I just have to get in the ZONE

I am on less than 100cal for today so far so it is going well - I am doing the food shopping a bit later so I need to be mindful of not buying in things I will snack on regardless of them being healthy or not!

I bought bridesmaid dresses off Etsy in the end, they are in the lovely dark sage colour with tulle skirts and a multiway top not my dream Dotty P dresses but I really love them and all the bridesmaids are happy.

Sorting out things like chair covers and plates at the moment, looking for a company that will do chair covers for less than £1 per chair ideally

@QuimReaper when I re read it I thought it looked like 3 or 4 stone but I do mean 3 quarters of a stone. 3 stone is probably a bit ambitious in 5 weeks !

Hi Everyone,

I've been looking for this thread; I fell off sometime in May but need to get back on it now.

Still using MFP, no particular rules just trying to eat within TDEE and do my exercise classes every week. Oh and trying to only drink Thurs-Sun and within some reasonable limits! (a big downfall of mine) Blush

I'm too scared to weigh until I've had a few more good days but I suspect it'll be over 10st whereas I want it to be 9st 8lbs ish (I show weight very obviously as it all just sits on my stomach so important to keep on top of it).

goingonabearhunt1 · 03/06/2019 17:42

I did eat a giant sandwich today but no other snacks apart from an apple and making saag paneer for tea (more saag than paneer, lol)

goingonabearhunt1 · 03/06/2019 17:45

Oh and I have a hen to attend in July also hairspray (actually 2 hen dos!) so would like to be a bit more svelte before then.

Elloello I recognised you from your cupboardful of packets! Grin

I honestly can't express how bad I've been lately. So many weekday indulgences. In fact, I've just checked the calendar and in the whole month I only had 13 Golden Days! No wonder I feel so lardy, that's less than half the month. Between BHs and celebrating my birthday, I've had three four-day weekends and two midweekers Blush I really need a Golden Sprint to counter it, but I don't see that happening any time soon.

QuimReaper · 04/06/2019 18:11

Ello 1.6 in one day is superb, well done!

Hmm I typed out a message yesterday and didn't realise it hadn't posted!

10.1 so 4lbs down already - amazing what can happened when you actually pay attention to what you are eating!

Yesterday I had
Full Fat Cappuccino
Light and Free Blueberry Skyr
Apple
Falafel Salad
Satsuma
Apple
5000 cups of tea with skimmed milk and a teeny tiny bite of DPs toblerone

Part of what I typed out was actually about that kind of thing - for ages I have been "being good" not having my own pizza/chips/cake/sweets/icecream and just "sharing" with DP - fine if I literally had 2 chips or one smartie feels like you aren't missing out and still staying slim. My problem was "sharing" half a pizza - oh its yours I only had a bit etc.

So that is a habit I really need to kick!

OP posts:
goingonabearhunt1 · 05/06/2019 17:46

I'm a couple lbs up from when I last weighed a couple months back so need to get back where I was, hoping a couple of golden weeks will sort it out.

HairsprayBabe · 06/06/2019 08:57

Golden days are the way forwards! 3rd in a row finished yesterday and 10st dead this morning. So 5lbs down in 3 days - very happy with that just need to remain in the zone - I have already noticed that I feel less bloated and blergh.

Yesterday I had:

Black Cherry Yogurt
2 stalks of celery
2 jazz apples
1 Satsuma
Veggie stir-fry with quorn pieces - diy stir-fry sauce lemon juice sweet freedom syrup (just a tsp) garlic Chinese 5 spice soy sauce and chilli

Too much fruit yesterday but I was really grumpy and headachy in the evening so I had the second apple - didn't really work mind...

I think I need a bit more fat today as I had no energy at all this morning.

Just had a full fat cappuccino and I am going to try and hold off till lunch for any solid food.

I think I am having eggs for dinner probably with veggie sausages and broccoli.

Crikey Hairspray 5lbs down already, you're on fire! You'll be at 9st in no time at this rate, you'll probably be in the 9s by tomorrow morning!

Ello you as well! I'm in awe! Maybe if I weighed in on a Monday I'd see similar drops during the week, but I'm too scared Grin Might pilot it at some point, as my current method hasn't been blowing me away lately; seeing my Monday weight might boost me to be a bit better on weekends, and give me an extra push during the week.

That's it Ello! 3:2:2, meaning 3 = WEEKEND! WAHOO!; 2 = sensible eating with no booze, sugar or carbs, and 2 = Golden (i.e. Fast) Days. I stand by it!

Had a good week food-wise, although I was in Hotel Chocolat buying a friend's birthday present and was confronted with a tray of Billionaire's Shortbreads, which are my absolute downfall, and I'm afraid I succumbed Blush Steps have been seriously lame, but with an extra push today I should be on track to end today on 60K, so averaging at 15K p/day, which isn't too bad.

QuimReaper · 06/06/2019 19:28

I think after a bit of time off the wagon the energy slump can be much worse, especially if you're reducing carbs / sugar. I always find I adjust quite quickly though.
