Hi all, just a quick message to say I'm back!
Hope everyone is ok, sounds like there's a few health issues at the moment.
Cruise was fabulous, great sightseeing, lovely food, very relaxing. I did sooo much walking was pleasantly surprised I had only gained 1.5lbs when I weighed myself this morning.
Will catch up properly later on x

Hi all - sorry for being AWOL. Not getting on very well with the weight loss and can see an upward trajectory going on which I have found very disheartening. Actually, I really miss our daily chats on here!
Tomorrow is the 1st October so I'm full of enthusiasm for a fresh start as I simply cannot continue to allow my weight to spiral.
@TinselAndKnickers are you O.K? I've been feeling worried about you. I'm glad you enjoyed your cruise emilyjeff and good job on the minor gain. I bet you're chuffed with that!

Morning all, It's 1st October so I'm making a fresh start today.
I am a massive 13st 10.5lbs I'm ashamed to say.
One meal a day and NO snacking for me. Also going to try to minimise the carbs as I've read that helps with underactive thyroid. I'm having my bloods checked this week and hoping that they're still cock-eyed and I can negotiate another Levo increase to see if that helps.Otherwise I can't explain the enormous weight gain. Puzzled.

Potential cancer diagnosis but a lot of it is waiting around. Could be other things too but just so busy with work and still heartbroken from my breakup so it's a lot Sad thanks for thinking of me!

Oh no @TinselAndKnickers it says potential so I really hope you dont have it. I know several people who have had cancer and beaten it so if you need to chat I am happy to be around or try and put you in touch with them.

@recklessgran I think you are being a little harsh when you said massive gain I was like oh no. But I looked and its like 3.25 lbs over 2 weeks. Thats not massive and its still less than you started with! I don't mean to minimise as I know its easier to say its not that bad. I am sure in your shoes I would be stressed and frustrated too. Just try to be a little gentler on yourself.

Also maybe talk to a nutritionist? When I did my body composition test in september they measured our metabolic rate and stuff and were telling us that not eating enough calories can slow the metabolism down and make the body try to keep weight. I am not a doctor so I dont know how the thyroid would play into it but it could be your plans to cut down make it worse. Just something to think about. I would hate for you to get stuck in a cycle of trying to lose and cutting too much and then its gets worse and you get more stressed and cut more etc. You deserve to achieve your goals, I don't have the training to tell you how but somebody else might.

Oh yeah wednesday update: down 0.4 lbs. Which I will take.

Hope you're ok tinsel and getting the care and support you need. I was diagnosed with stage 3 skin cancer nearly three years ago, so if I can give any further advice/ support feel free to message me. I made it out the other side but it was a tough time :(
Well done on the loss moonnoodles
I have been eating reasonably well for the last couple of days. Whilst I was pleased to only gain 2lbs on holiday it has brought me to 10st 13 which is only a pound less than when I started chatting on here, so feeling motivated to eat well and move more! x

Oh Gawd, sorry to hear that @emilyjeff and glad you're O.K. now.
Weight loss wise I'm really struggling to be honest - not very motivated now autumn seems to have hit with a vengeance. I really fancy a good old fashioned stew [with dumplings of course!]
I had a small portion of cottage pie with runner beans, carrots and broccolli tonight. DGC are here and had Daim Almondy tart with ice cream afterwards but obviously I gave that a swerve.
In other news DD4 is on holiday in Jordan so I had a quick chat with her this morning which made me feel a bit better - she travels alone and scares the pants off me! I feel anxious in a low level kind of a way until I know her plane has landed back here safely.So that'll be a week on Sunday. Oh well I don't suppose you ever stop worrying about your babies do you?
@TinselAndKnickers I just want you to know that I was thinking of you today and hope it's good news for you soon. x

Its been really quiet on here lately. I didnt weigh in this week but am back on the healthy eating wagon. Had a quiet weekend at home for once, went to the gym with DH yesterday as the weather was miserable and actually quite enjoyed it.

I am! I'm in the 12st to 13st mark st the moment with a lot of fluctuations because of my health, but it looks like I've lost 26lb overall so far :)

Sorry didn't mean to go quiet. I kept thinking I couldn't just post last weeks results and I really need to give a proper reply and then time just got away from me.

So last wednesday I had a maintain. Which is whatever. Forgot to weigh in yesterday until after I had already left the house so I weighed in this morning. Down 1.5 lbs which I am happy about.

Yay congrats on the loss @TinselAndKnickers and @emilyjeff

@recklessgran lol. I absolutely do not run marathons. In fact the only running I do is for 3 minutes on the treadmills as my warm up before a workout. I have tried running. Did a 5k even. I'm just not a runner. Not my thing.

I can totally relate to wanting nice warming food in winter. Stew isn't naturally bad for you though. It can have meat (protein) and veggies and stuff. The only real issue with stews is that they can be high in sodium and surprisingly sugar.

Has DD4 returned yet? How was her trip? If it helps any, I used to travel alone as well and met a lot of nice people including my DH while travelling.

Evening all - sorry I've been AWOL for a while - too invested in the Christmas thread and other stuff going on here so haven't been watching what I'm eating at all. Haven't weighed for a couple of weeks but will do this coming Wednesday when I will get off the naughty step and get back to polishing the halo that is currently strangling me!
DD4 back safe with some stunning pics of Petra, the Red Sea and the Dead Sea. @MoonNoodles she's a seasoned lone traveller and is on a mission to cover all 7 continents by the time she's 30. To that end she has booked an Antarctic Cruise for January 2021 which will give me something to worry about a la Titanic no doubt. She is intrepid I must say. The other DD's get up to similar tricks but prefer a higher level of luxury so tend not to visit the same type of countries as DD4.
Anyway, hope everyone is O.K. and that we can resurrect our lovely thread after the little recent hiatus.I'm in anyway, that's for sure!

Mmm stew :) I may have to make one next week! I like to have creamy mash and dumplings with it though so that's what makes it unhealthy for me. Feel like I've been doing well this week though, prob still snacking too much but trying really hard to have healthy snacks.
DD4's trip sounds amazing Reckless! As does the antarctic cruise. I was never really interested in travelling much when I was younger but now I have so many places that I want to visit.
What does everyone have planned for the weekend? I have a fairly chilled one planned, out for Italian with friends sat night. Other than that usual horses, dog walking etc. Also need to go and pack up our caravan ready for winter...no more trips away in it til easter now, that's a bit depressing :(

Quietish weekend planned except we are babysitting DGD tomorrow evening. We are totally in love with her but it takes both of us to care for her as she is really a pickle and a bag of energy, chat, chat, chat.....boing, boing, boing - jumping on our bed. Bless her little heart she will be 2 next weekend so expecting a full house then when all DD's will be home for the occasion. Trip to farm planned so hope the weather is better than it was last year!
Ignoring the diet for now but will focus again from Wednesday as we are on holiday 1st week of December so need to sort myself out or none of my holiday clothes will fit.
