Sugar and alcohol detox from tomorrow...who's with me?

I'm a sugar addict. It's gotten so bad. Today I've eaten an Easter egg, three slices of cake, a meringue and I've drank some prosecco....ok it is Easter BUT since my baby was born 6 months ago I've massively gone off the rails. Probably the sugar is helping me cope with the sleep deprivation! Anyway I've decided, I'm quitting added sugar and alcohol tomorrow! I will still be eating fruit, pasta, rice and potatoes, just not sugar in coffee, biscuits, sweets, cakes etc.( Disclaimer...I have two weddings in the next month so may have a class of bubbles on those two occasions!). Anyway I could do with some accountability buddies so does anyone want to join me?

Well I've been dealing with a poorly baby with a tummy bug and now have it myself. Haven't eaten for 24 hours. What a great day! How's everyone else getting on?

IWillWearTheGreenWillow sounds like you've got a lot going on! It's hard isn't it? I hope you get through the exam period in one piece!

Anyone still on board? I'm now 21 days sugar free (since 29th April, so 3 weeks). I didn't quite manage the calorie counting I promised in my last post but will attempt again this week, although the knock on effect of detoxing off sugar is that my appetite is far more controlled and generally calmer around food, so I'm probably naturally curbing it anyway. I ran 10 miles today and normally that leaves me absolutely ravenous and eating anything in sight- however, I must be a changed woman because there is a curly wurly in my fridge and a cupcake in a party bag that I know the dc have forgotten about and previously wouldn't have stood a chance.

I'm really craving a treat. I've lost 8kg in a month which I'm delighted about and I'm enjoying all my healthy seasonal food. I've practically become a veggie. And the weight is really going from round my middle.

But where /what are the treats? What are healthy no sugar, no alcohol treats?

Wally cheese? Yogurt and berries? Halloumi fries?

Wow you guys have done so much better than me. We're in the middle of moving house. So sorry I've been rubbish! I've been good today! So I'll try to keep it up!!

Anyone still doing this?
I had a week off at Whitsun where I did hit the carbs quite heavily (not too much sugar though) and then ds's birthday where there was cake. But since 4th June I've had no alcohol and I'm really trying to have zero sugar (although that's tougher to be honest). I think it's about 5 clear sugar free days so far, although it's lots more in total. I feel good though- for the first time in a long time I'm actually not fussed about having a glass of wine tonight.

I am also desperately trying to give up sugar, or even just cut down. Currently on morning one of no chocolate. Aiming to just make it past lunchtime so far, any one else?
