Half a stone off in April (3kgs for the 'metrix')

VivaFrida · 01/04/2019 07:31

Carrying on from the March thread (but all new joiners welcome), a fresh slate for April!

Please join me - all plans welcome (calorie counters, weight watchers, citizens of slimming world, intermittent fasters, eating-only-blue-food eaters). Here to support each other and aim to lose 7 pounds, or 3 kgs.

My starting weight for April is 65.1 pounds and getting to 62-ish or just under by the end of the month would be great.

Who is in?

Cheers guys!
The cold is developing and I feel like i want to hibernate for a week and sleep it off...,
Unfortunately work has called!

Gottagetup that's a good point on an early removal, unfortunately when I used to be on the pill I was awful at remembering it! Even down to having an alarm set for the start of my lunch break... and I no longer work 0830-1700, I'm on permanent shifts from 0600 starts all the way through to 1930 starts... I wouldn't trust myself to take it properly, especially since now it is a form of contraception for me and DP rather than an aid to less painful/more regular periods..

shoelace88 · 14/04/2019 18:31

This was my first week working out, I alternated between a pilates and cardio routine.

Sunday is rest day for me but I'm staying on track food wise. Tomorrow is my very first weight in day 🤞‼
I don't remember if almonds were mentioned as a snack but it's one of my favs. I also love apples and peanutbutter or almond butter.

VivaFrida · 14/04/2019 22:36

shoelace88 I do a fat burning workout (which lasts 37 minutes but i skip the last 5 minutes of cool down) and then do a 25 minutes jump workout by Lumowell. When I started doing the Fitness Blender workout in March I could not keep up with all the jumping jacks but it's amazing how much I have improved by sticking at it! I must confess I almost look forward to it now (some parts I still can't do properly though).

Weighing in this morning at 67.6kg. 1kg since last Monday. Feels good. Steady.

I need to get some proper exercise but my heel is still very painful. Back to school with the dcs this week, which is a 20min walk, so if I do there and back twice a day that’s a good amount. Normally would be driving three days as they go to before/after school club while I’m at Uni, but off for revision and exams now 😬.

Chocolatepeanuts · 15/04/2019 07:42

Monday morning weigh in for me. Well can hardly believe I"ve reached the half stone mark on a fortnight! Never thought I'd see the day. Have been trying hard but dont feel a bit deprived this week following SW. In fact it has hugely helped my meal planning. I didn't go to the gym much as the weather was beautiful so just enjoyed walks in it, but the rain has set in so back to an abs class tonight. I'm going to aim for another 4lb before the end of the month.

ZsaZsaMc · 15/04/2019 09:14

Just catching up on all the good news - well done Cricket and Funky !

Also needed some general inspo as STILL haven’t got properly into it this month. I’m hoping to stick to the plan for the next four days before the Easter weekend

shoelace88 · 15/04/2019 14:06

Good morning everyone! Congratulations to all who lost! I'm down 3lbs on my first week! Woot! 🥳 I know not every week will look like this, but it sure does feel good to see that number drop.

Breakfast: sweet potatoes and eggs
Lunch: avocado toast with strawberries
Dinner: salad
Snack: baby carrots & apple

Viva, I can't wait until I can do 2 workouts. That's really awesome you're able to do that!

edwardson · 15/04/2019 17:18

Well done everyone!! I'm down to 9st11.5, so 5.5 lbs down :)

Had a bump right up over he weekend, but was very good on Sunday and it seems to have balanced out. Motivated to keep it going for the last 1.5lbs

shoelace88 · 15/04/2019 18:50

I have to brag on myself for a sec. Lol I managed to workout today and I'm super busy. 🥳
Part of my schedule:
*finish a 1200 word essay
*register for summer classes
*get Easter eggs for my middle child
*youngest has a doctor Appt
*2 older girls have gymnastics

I feel so good since I worked out 2!

VivaFrida · 15/04/2019 19:02

Go for it ZsaZsaMc! Four days do make a difference!

And congratulations to GottaGetUp, Chocolatepeanuts, shoelace8 and edwardson for the weight loss!

I am writing from the train, finally going back home after having been away for work - I left Sunday night - and I am pleased to report that, in spite of having been in hotel, on expenses etc., I have been super focused on the food - I have brought porridge and bananas from home and had that for dinner last night (that's not as sad as it sounds, honestly) and also breakfast this morning. I got up at 6 to do two 30 mins workouts before work (I was truly rubbish at them this morning but I did them!!) - I had a healthy lunch from Pret (mini veggie soup and high protein salad - no dressing) and an apple a a snack on the train and now waiting till I get home to have some late dinner. I am totally in the zone! Grin Grin Grin.

Well done shoelace88 for working out whilst so busy - here are some Flowers for you!

You guys are killing it!

I’m hovering around the 160lbs mark down from 166lbs. Just need to focus on my food and banish the Easter chocolate to my OHs office in the garden.

Also I ran 5k (extremely slowly) for the first time since DC2. Feeling really proud and planning what to do next. Any other runners out there?

VivaFrida · 15/04/2019 19:37

delphimum I am a lapsed runner... too heavy to run now but I'd love to get back into it. I am "working towards" running using the exercise bike, cross trainer and cardio workouts.

OP posts:
VivaFrida · 15/04/2019 19:39

And forgot to say awesome to you for your 5k run!

OP posts:
DelphiMum · 15/04/2019 20:48

@vivafrida you are a lot lighter than me...! What’s stopping you getting out? Have you looked at c25k? Sounds like you are doing a lot already :)

VivaFrida · 16/04/2019 11:42

I need to report a NSV!

I have a monsoon dress, kimono-style that looks lovely on me when I am at my usual weight but recently, since I had put weight on, looks like an exploded 1980s sofa. Now that I have lost over 7kg (a stone and a bit) I have tired it on in the spirit of scientific experimentation ... (suspense pause) ....and....

.... it fits acceptably (drum roll)!!

Not super great yet, but good enough to wear without peoples saying "omg, an exploded sofa! from the 1908s!! quick VivaFrida, get out of it before it kills you".

So I am wearing my Kimono style dress and a black cardigan and boots feeling that the old me is not a million miles away. Feels good. feels really good.

And cara DelphiMum thank you for the vote of confidence... my relationship with running is... complicated... just to cut a long story short I used to run a fair bit and know that if I run when I am above 59-60kg I get injured and I hate it whereas if I weight when my body is ready I love it and hardly ever get injured. I know there is more running in my life coming back to me, but i also know I am not at that stage yet. But of course we are all different and wholeheartedly support your running! You go girl xxxx

VivaFrida · 16/04/2019 11:43

"weight" for "wait" is a really freudian typo!! Hmm Hmm Hmm

OP posts:
DelphiMum · 16/04/2019 16:37

@vivafrida you know your body well! Hope you get back to it soon. It’s fabulous when it works.

I’m currently running 5k in about 40mins. I used to be able to do in under 30...

In food news I ate four crumpets and jam earlier. Going to have tiny soup dinner to try and compensate...

ZsaZsaMc · 16/04/2019 16:44

Weighing in and have lost -1.5lb. Total lost since February is -13lbs so I’ll be going for the stone next week. Definitely not on for the half a stone in a April target though!

Slowly but in right direction.

Today’s menu is fruit and yoghurt, home made chicken sandwich and meatballs and spaghetti for dinner. For me it’s about not snacking or eating cheese and chocolate and alcohol!

We don’t usually eat until after 8 o’clock so may need a small snack between now and dinner time...

shoelace88 · 16/04/2019 17:08

Good morning everyone. I'm not feeling that well today so I'm going to take it easy. Light workout if any.
Breakfast: Go lean cereal and almond milk
Lunch: Turkey meatballs
Dinner: shrimp, chicken sausage, & veggie pan bake
Snack: whole almonds & strawberries

SingaporeSlinky · 16/04/2019 17:41

I’m back! Thanks for continuing the thread Frida
Back from Egypt yesterday and haven’t weighed in yet, will do it tomorrow morning. I’ve definitely put on, it was inevitable really, on a 2 week all inclusive Blush. My intentions were good, to carry on sensible portion sizes, no puddings, but in reality it was hard. I didn’t snack, but I did eat 3 big meals every day. Some days there wasn’t much I wanted, so I would eat bread and rice with roast meat, other days there was loads I liked, and I wanted to try everything. Little in the way of veg, not for want of trying though. Oh, and too many ice creams and fresh croissants Blush

Haven’t read the thread for April yet but will try to catch up. Hope you’re all doing well so far. I was so happy with my 1st 1lb loss, and I did feel great at the start of the holiday. By the end I knew I was a bit bigger, also had period bloating although still fit in my new size 12s so that’s something.

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 17/04/2019 07:34

Hope you had a lovely holiday Singapore it sounds heavenly!
Quick check in from me, 3lb loss this week. Not achieved healthily but I'll take it all the same!

Chocolatepeanuts · 17/04/2019 10:42

Viva love thw NSV!

cricketmum84 · 17/04/2019 10:53

Some great losses well done!!

I've decided to take the plunge and finally go vegetarian. The family are laughing at the thought of me giving up steak but it just makes me want to prove them wrong!!

Aside from my animal welfare reasons I'm hoping that a plant based diet will give me a bit more of a health kick and get my losses going again!
