Half a stone off in April (3kgs for the 'metrix')

Carrying on from the March thread (but all new joiners welcome), a fresh slate for April!

Please join me - all plans welcome (calorie counters, weight watchers, citizens of slimming world, intermittent fasters, eating-only-blue-food eaters). Here to support each other and aim to lose 7 pounds, or 3 kgs.

My starting weight for April is 65.1 pounds and getting to 62-ish or just under by the end of the month would be great.

Who is in?

Just got an email

It's gone to second interview... I need to ace the next one in a fortnight!

MercuryRising · 12/04/2019 21:02

Well done funky !

cricketmum84 · 12/04/2019 21:20

Good that they've not kept you hanging over the weekend @FunkyBarnYardBroom

Plus you now have 2 weeks to prep for the send interview. I'm sure you will blow them away!

cricketmum84 · 12/04/2019 21:20

*second not send!!

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 12/04/2019 21:23

Here's hoping!

I want to work on the farm so badly. Even if it is in the offices. It was so pretty. The interviewer was lovely. She would be my manager.

They're organic growers, have an amazing social media presence. I felt like I knew them before I arrived

sazzle27 · 13/04/2019 10:18

Well done to PPs!

Day late on check in; my body officially hates me and is trying everything in its power to stop me losing weight....
Have a cold and cant swallow without immense pain, aunt flo has been visiting for nigh on 4 weeks now.. and really just a tad fed up of it all!

However, despite this and chinese food and general bleurgh... here's this weeks info!

Start weight: 94.2kg
Current weight: 91.6kg
Total loss in March: 1.7kg

Total loss in April: 0.9kg

(Although a sneaky weigh in on my second weigh in day today - I try to avoid weighing more than once a week - was a higher loss than yesterday... but I shall leave it until next week to see if it is maintained...)

GottaGetUp · 13/04/2019 11:16

Good luck Funky! Your obvious enthusiasm for the farm and the team will definitely be in your favour 🙂

I’ve been weighing a bit too often, but I’m only going to make it official on here on Mondays. Instead I’m going to list all the good things I’ve discovered since giving up the sugar binges:

Better skin
Better sleep
No more blood sugar wobbles

I had the last couple of mouthfuls of dd1’s cake that she couldn’t finish the other day and I felt rubbish almost immediately. I’ve just got to realise that my body can’t deal with sugar anymore and make the crappy feeling what I think of when I look at a packet of biscuits...

GottaGetUp · 13/04/2019 11:18

Well done on April’s loss so far sazzle 🙂. Though about worried about what you say about bleeding for 4 weeks - has that happened before? Maybe you should mention it to someone?

daisystone · 13/04/2019 12:54

Started at the beginning of April because I am so fed up being fat and not being able to wear anything nice and generally looking frumpy.

Day 13 today and I have lost 10 lbs. Feeling pretty good about that. From here on in I know it will get harder as it always does. I just want to get the first stone off as I have several more to go. Started as a size 16 and my trousers were pretty snug around my waist. In an ideal world I really want to be a size 10 again and back to the weight I was in my twenties. I have been drastically cutting carbs - no bread at all, only one bowl of pasta. However I have had potatoes a couple of times. I seem to be doing a mish mash of several diets. A bit of low-carbing, a bit of calorie counting and a bit of inermittent fasing along with a bit of low fat. I should really pick a diet and stick to it.
In the last nearly two weeks I have had hardly any alcohol, wine is normally my drink of choice but I have switched to vodka or whisky and only once or twice a week. I feel better without the sugar and alcohol - it is a struggle and sometimes I just want to binge on crisps and chocolate and wine but I am really trying to stay strong and remember that the warm weather is not far away and I really don't want to be covered up in long sleeves etc when everyone else has little dresses and shorts on.

I hate dieting.

sazzle27 · 13/04/2019 13:38

Gottagetup GP is aware and their alution is to fo on the contraceptive pill as well as having the implant in... HmmHmmHmm
In fairness it has been all over the place since having it fitted, from 3 months without, to every fortnight, and now it seems to being constant!
It has one its job successfully though, and due out in September... just 4-5 months to go until it is out!

sazzle27 · 13/04/2019 13:55

*their solution
*to go on
*done its job

Bloomin' typos sorry!

GottaGetUp · 13/04/2019 14:55

Urgh, the implant sent my periods haywire too. Could they not just take it out early for you, if their solution is to go on the pill anyway?

VivaFrida · 13/04/2019 15:13

Fingers crossed for you funky!

GottaGetUp I know what you mean, now I have seriously cut my refined sugars I too feel so much better.

daisystone - glad your weight loss is going so well ,but sorry to hear you hate dieting - is there any regime you would feel happy to adopt long term? I truly love the way I am eating now and would like to keep it all my life.

Today is a busy day chez Las Fridas. We are sorting out DS1's room, so after getting up early & doing 1 hour heavy workout this am (the ones with jacks, squats, lunges and general jumpiness) I have continued the day with physical labour, carrying bits and bobs up the stairs, helping out and cleaning the rest of the house whilst DH was cleaning, emptying and painting DS1's room. I could go for a nap now!

Hope everyone has a more relaxing day planned.

Awesome job sazzle, I hope you feel better soon tho.
GottaGetup, its wonderful your beating your sugar addiction and seeing real results from it! Sugar is such a weakness for me.
You are doing fabulous Daisy, 10lbs is a HUGE accomplishment! Congratulations!

I'm sticking with it y'all! I made it through yesterday. Unfortunately I didn't workout but my food was in point. Today my workout is already done, I did Fitness blender on YouTube. I'm healthy food shopping now, so not 100% sure what I'm eating but I have plenty of options. 🤗

theedgeofthecloud · 13/04/2019 18:06

Weigh in day today and I'm down 2.4lbs (the .4 is important Grin )which I'm happy enough with. Though have taken that as a green light to overeat carbs and sugar today, which often ends up being the case when I'm tired and looking after my Dad. Will be back on the straight and narrow tomorrow though. Did my first combat class at the gym yesterday and am struggling to move today. Plan is for some swimming and yoga tomorrow. Have good weekends all.

DelphiMum · 14/04/2019 11:01

Wedding yesterday - cake and chocolate and meat and pizza and booze.
