Half a stone off in March

SingaporeSlinky · 01/03/2019 09:03

Carrying on from the February thread and new joiners welcome, fresh slate for March!

I’ve weighed in today at 10st 1lb so I’m determined to at the very least get down to 9-something this month! Ideally the half stone by the end of March when I go on holiday. Who’s in?

TheInvestigator · 19/03/2019 18:27

That wasn't meant to be bold.

VivaFrida · 20/03/2019 06:11

Good morning all! Wednesday is my weigh day and thus week I have lost 1.1kg, 2.4208 pounds, bringing my total loss to 3kg or 6.614 pounds.

ShockShockGrinGrinGrin

The best news of all is that my BMI is 24.7: I am officially in the healthy range (just about).

GrinGrinGrin

Because I am scraping into 'normal' that does not mean that my work is done. Actually the hard work has just begun: to get myself back to some fitness. Every time I exercise I realise how unfit I am and how much this past couple of years of inactivity have taken their toll on my strength, flexibility, balance, etc.

So now I am working towards my fitness goal and towards going back to the weight that I have maintained for most of my adult life (apart from pregnancies and stress related weight gain), which is a BMI of around 20-21. Still a way to go but moving in the right direction.

This group is a HUGE help to keep me motivated and on track so thank you all for posting and sharing suggestions, struggles, successes. It truly helps!

Have a good day all!

TheInvestigator · 20/03/2019 08:30

VivaFrida
That's amazing!!! Moving into the healthy bmi range is a huge achievement and must feel fantastic. Well done! You'll achies your fitness goal just like you did this!

Morning everyone! I messed up yesterday and had 1470 calories... so the hungry day won. I was 190 calories under budget on my fitbit, so it wasn't actually bad but I'm aiming for 3.25lbs this week so will need to stay below 1000 for the remainder of the week if I want to get there. But it was nice going to bed feeling full!

whatthefoxsaid · 20/03/2019 09:13

Morning, well done Frida it's lovely to get into that "ideal" range!
Well I started this month at 10st13.5lb. Dropped to 10st9.5 then this weekend managed to gain 3 back Blush I've been back on plan since Monday and when I checked this morning I'm back at 10st9.5 so I'm feeling heartened again. Just need to stick to it now!
I've meal planned this week which is a bit of a pain but it really does keep me on track. It's too easy to rush something from the freezer into the oven if I'm not organised.
Tonight we're having hunters chicken with sweet potato wedges and corn on the cob/salad.

TickVG · 20/03/2019 11:37

Weighing in today at 9st9.5 which means 3.5 off since last wk. Very surprised as have gone over cals several days but can only think that maybe it's the BF and DS has been having a growth spurt. Have def been hungrier. Amazing viva on your BMI achievement! Your hard work paying off! And great re-losing whatthe - we can do this!

Crazzzycat · 20/03/2019 15:19

Congrats everyone on your losses. And VivaFrida that’s fantastic! It must feel so good to have reached that milestone

I broke through the 85kg barrier yesterday, but today I’m back to being 85.1 Angry It’s how these things go I guess!

VivaFrida · 20/03/2019 17:31

Thank you for your kind words and encouragement, TheInvestigator, whatthefoxsaid, TickVG and Crazzzycat !

TickVG 3.5lbs in one week is an awesome loss! Congrats!!

whatthefoxsaid I am with you with planning and the danger of the mindless freezer-oven dinner! Tonight we are having poached white fish, fresh green beans and steamed baby potatoes.

Crazzzycat yes, you know how it is if you weigh yourself every day, it goes a little up sometimes even if the trundling is down.

TheInvestigator - ooh hard target of 3.25!! All the best wishes for reaching it. Under 1k calories is very light eating - takes much willpower - all of you who are doing it are totally badass!! I am not sure exactly how many calories I eat because I am doing a different (points) system but I'd estimate I am eating around 1200-1300 x day.

Today I am off work and went for a 6 miles walk along the river with a friend, we took the train to the next town up and we walked out way back to our town. I am so happily tired and relaxed from the walk that I am completely zonked out and I cannot muster the effort even to respond to personal emails.

VivaFrida · 20/03/2019 17:32

"trundling" (????) = trend line

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 21/03/2019 08:24

Morning all!

Since the 9th February I have lost 1 stone!!

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 21/03/2019 08:27

Which is an 8.19% loss

Will read back now and see how you're all doing 😁

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 21/03/2019 08:33

Looks like everyone is having positive results! We really are rocking this.

I have 1 stone 7lbs to go to reach my (optimistic) weight. It'll be the last 7lbs which will take me to my lowest ever weight.

I always get to 10stone 3 lbs and there i stay 😬

I spent a day in the garden yesterday. Walked a total of 5.5 miles doing so which isn't too shabby! Bit cloudier today but hoping to some more. Meeting a friend for a drink at 12. Wish I'd made it earlier as I might end up tempted by the menu 🙄

Considering walking there it's about a 3 mile round trip 🤔

What's everyone else up to today?

TickVG · 21/03/2019 09:23

Excellent funky! One stone is SUCH a motivational milestone I think! You are well on the way to achieving your goal! How long are you giving yourself to get to target? I also have a weight I usually can't get below which is roughly where I am now and am very wary of my tendency to self sabotage. Trying to think positive thoughts about smashing through the plateau!

I was planning to start a baby swimming class today but they are messing me around re: booking and I hate swimming (and swimming pools) anyway....if I don't get that sorted I'll try and get DS to nap and get on the turbo trainer. If that fails then I'll be BF'ing in front of the tv all morning (still a workout, right?Smile), mum&baby exercise class after lunch, then school run and house chaos till bedtime!

TickVG · 21/03/2019 09:29

Ooh Has anyone tried the Jamie Oliver 5 ingredients recipes? They have all the calorie contents listed for each of them and because of the 5 ingredients things they're in theory not too annoying/expensive to make. I've just bought the book but lots of the recipes here www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/category/books/5-ingredients-quick-easy-food-recipes-2/

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 21/03/2019 09:30

I don't have a target date really. End of April my DP boss has a social event. So I'd like to be as trim as possible for that.

If the next month goes like the 6 weeks I should be around 10.5 stone at a guess?

But the less of me there is the harder I will need to work to get there! Which is my problem on the days my health isn't playing ball. But slowly does it and I'll get there.

Gotta believe!

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 21/03/2019 09:31

I've looked at JO 5 ingredients before let me know how to get on!

SingaporeSlinky · 21/03/2019 09:35

Well done everyone for your losses! The half a stone target for March will definitely be hit for some. I’m down to 9st 9 which was a shock this morning as I’ve lost some willpower recently, even though my holiday is getting closer. I think because I’m logging everything it’s definitely helping though, as if I’ve snacked during the day, I’ve tried to make up for it by having a very small dinner. Not the healthiest way, I know, but maybe sticking to the calories limit is still working, even if a third is made up of crisps and chocolate. Whoops!

Going for a long walk to run some errands today.

SingaporeSlinky · 21/03/2019 09:41

I was complaining before, when I reached my first 10st target, that MFP didn’t give me fireworks for hitting my goal. Well today I’ve just logged my 9st 9lbs (I think my latest target was still 9st 10lbs) and it’s come up with a pop up saying “100% You did it! Well done for reaching your goal!” Grin

Thanks for the link to the 5 ingredient recipes, I've bookmarked a couple (the comforting sausage bake sounds delicious).
Stayed on plan yesterday and no reason not to for the rest of this week, as long as dh doesn't pester for a takeaway.
Today will be mostly spent cleaning and doing laundry after DD was up half the night with d&v. Good job it's drying weather outside!
I think we'll have fajitas for tea. Veggie for me and the last of the chicken for dh. Not sure about DD Hmm

TheInvestigator · 21/03/2019 11:04

Thank you for the Jamie Oliver thing!
I just bought what I need for the walnut whip dessert. I'm making it smaller and using protein ice cream and Chocologic chocolate so it will be much less calories but it's going to be amazing!!! And I can fit it into my meal plan today and stay under 1000 cals!!

ZsaZsaMc · 21/03/2019 17:13

It feels like a Friday today and fighting to stay on track! My baby is teething at the moment so especially tired this morning. It’s so tough resisting the biscuits!

Breakfast was yoghurt and fruit, lunch a grilled chicken sandwich and dinner will be a shakshuka type meal - which is low points on WW (although will throw in as much chorizo as I can get away with on points). What is everyone else having?

Will definitely be checking out the Jamie O link too - thank you.

ZsaZsaMc · 21/03/2019 17:15

singaporeslinky 9st9 is great - seems like 5 mins ago when the scales broke into the 9s!

TickVG · 21/03/2019 17:59

Hope the walnut whip was good investigator! Me and DD made some orange and polenta biscuits from the book which were really good- nice and tangy and a nice moderate level of sweetness -despite my substituting the sugar for sweetener to save a few more cals. I managed to limit myself to 2 and have now sealed them in tupperware- hopefully DH will have a good few. I have a HelloFresh meal for tonight's dinner- lamb meatball curry. It's an expensive way to eat but at the moment I appreciate not having to think too hard about what to make and it stops me going for seconds/overboard on portions because there is only enough for the two of us! And for lunches I'm really getting into the SW crustless quiches/frittatas. It's a great feeling using up loads of getting-on-a-bit veg from the fridge and cupboards! Smile

TheInvestigator · 21/03/2019 20:05

I didn't have it! We had to go pick up new gym shoes for my kid after school (he ripped the sole off his and needs them for tomorrow) so we ended up having a Nando's. I was very good so I'm at 870 calories but I can't have the walnut whip today!

AdventureTravelDreamer · 21/03/2019 22:35

Sorry, haven't been around for a week and haven't had a chance to catch up with the thread but will read it through in the morning but wanted to check in.

Still plodding along here, no weight loss on my official weigh in day on Tues (though there was a small loss before and after) I think there were some hormonal influences on the static weight but I also had a very social week so can't really complain.

Have been trying to up my activity this week, lots of dog walking, a circuits class this evening after work plus a couple swims so fingers crossed I don't sabotage over the weekend!

The holiday is getting closer, three weeks on Sunday, so need to keep the focus up!!

AdventureTravelDreamer · 22/03/2019 06:38

Just read back through and everyone is doing so well!!
Congratulations to slinky and funky for hitting the 1st mark that must be such a great feeling and to Viva for getting into the healthy BMI range. Your comment about ruling the weekend like an evil boss made me think, this is what I am going to do this weekend!! Lets hope I still feel like that after a glass of wine tomorrow night!!!

STS weeks are tricky aren't they cricket. I was also STS this week and even though I know why it still took more focus to not think sod it and give up. Luckily I have great colleagues who encouraged me and reminded me that everyone has one at some point or other so we have to deal with ot and stay on track. Glad you're feeling back on track whatthefox Smile

I am another one who usually gets stuck and then ultimately stops at 10st 3lbs when my aim is always under 10 but I'm determined not to this time!! As Viva said this thread is great for motivation and I love seeing how everyone is doing even though I don't post daily!!

Have a great weekend all
