Half a stone off in March

SingaporeSlinky · 01/03/2019 09:03

Carrying on from the February thread and new joiners welcome, fresh slate for March!

I’ve weighed in today at 10st 1lb so I’m determined to at the very least get down to 9-something this month! Ideally the half stone by the end of March when I go on holiday. Who’s in?

However, I did just bend and have a glass of wine- whoops

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 13/03/2019 19:22

I've swapped biscuits for Jacobs chilli thins. 21 Cal's per cracker and a nibble it really slowly 😂

TickVG · 13/03/2019 19:27

It is hard isn't it thisone - especially getting the balance right so you have the energy for breastfeeding etc! What's weird is that my tastes totally change during pregnancy and I crave things like potatoes, breads and pies - that I couldn't care less about normally. investigator if you are trying to keep to 1000cal can you brush your teeth, have a black coffee or just go and have a bath to distract yourself? V impressed with your daily total!

TheInvestigator · 13/03/2019 19:34

I went on the tredmill for 20 minutes and then went and picked the kids up from athletics.... So I avoided the biscuit!!

Just need to get to bedtime. The kids are getting some toast and then it will be off to bed with them and I've got a new audio book so will listen to that whilst I get some more steps in. That's the plan... with no biscuits!!

VivaFrida · 13/03/2019 20:05

I feel nauseous and not hungry. Sad

Had to force myself to eat today (maybe I should have just not bothered?) and still finished the day with 9 points to spare.

Maybe I am tired, I had a 4.45 alarm call this morning as was working out of the office. I could have waited till 5 but wanted to squeeze in 10 mins of exercise, which I did, as it gives me a focused mindset for the day. But now I feel like the Doctor in the episode of Doctor Who when he shows all his 915 years and is small and wrinkly sitting in a cage. I feel just like that. Short of 1,000 years old!

TheInvestigator · 14/03/2019 09:38

@VivaFrida, oh no! That sounds like a hard day. Are you feeling better today? Did you get a good sleep?

VivaFrida · 14/03/2019 09:54

Morning @theinvestigator and all!

Thank you for your kind words I feel much better today, I had to work from a very cold site yesterday and maybe I was just chilled to my core and very tired. So I woke up about 800 years younger today (that still makes me 120 or so).

Got up at 6.50 today, exercise 7-8.05 (those five minutes are essential for the purpose of recording), a bit less bouncy than usual (who am I kidding? I am unfit like a 120 year-old hippo!!), so let me rephrase that: even slower and huffing and puffing than usual but afterwards I feel great! Clean skin, relaxed face. I may not be a mean lean machine and not beat any records but I am doing it and that's the most important thing!

On the train (again!) for a meeting for work project today, but at a much nicer hour, having a table all for myself and having my favourite breakfast of 20gr porridge, banana, strawberries and Greek style low points yogurt. I am pleased to say my legendary healthy appetite has returned. Life is good!

Good wishes to all, especially those juggling dieting with b/feeding/babies/small kids/life challenges: you are heroes!!

TheInvestigator · 14/03/2019 10:06

Viva, the way you describe it does make me smile! It's like... it's really not all that bad when we can laugh about it! Spurs me on a bit so thank you for that!

I'm glad you're feeling better and having a much nicer morning. Keep that feeling with you!

I'm going to have a very lean day as it's medical night in the investigator household and quesadillas are on the menu! It works out to around 600 calories for my dinner, which means being very careful for the rest of my meals! But Mexican night is something we've always done so the kids love it, and I can't possibly make it all and not enjoy it myself.

whatthefoxsaid · 14/03/2019 13:02

Glad you're feeling better today Frida I hate it when I get cold to the core. It took me a minute to work out what medical night was Investigator but that sounds like a lovely tradition! Enjoy the quesidillas!
The lack of food shopping is starting to make things difficult. Lunch hasn't been great in terms of diet but gave DD the last banana and I can't face another apple! Pay day soon thank goodness.

TheInvestigator · 14/03/2019 15:54

@whatthefoxsaid

I didn't notice that!!! It was meant to say Mexican... much nicer than medical!

VivaFrida · 14/03/2019 16:16

theinvestigator yes if we can't laugh it's dire! I see I am better in myself as can laugh about myself now. Medical night was a hilarious typo! :)

whatthefoxsaid Groan! How much long till payday for you?

Coming home back from meeting. Seeing friend at the pub - I will have line and soda instead of alcohol. Lord, gimme strength. Halo

TheInvestigator · 14/03/2019 16:58

I've made it so far!! Eaten 274 calories today and now it's time to cook the food without snacking on the cheese as I do!!!!

cricketmum84 · 14/03/2019 17:21

So I tried to cop out of the gym today. Picked my 9yo up from school and she says "are we off to the gym then mum?" (She sits and reads a book on the sofas within eye sight) I said "nah I don't have the energy" she goes "NO mum you are going to the gym!! You need to be pushed!"

I went to the gym...

TheInvestigator · 14/03/2019 18:49

cricketmum84, haha! You could have just sat on the sofa for the afternoon if it wasn't for that pesky kid!

TheInvestigator · 14/03/2019 19:25

851 calories for dinner.... I ate the guacamole... And a piece of chocolate.

So 1125 calories for the whole day. I'm ok with that. It's a little over what I would prefer, but you need to splurge sometimes and it was totally worth it. I'm going out for dinner on the 29th of March so I won't have another treat dinner until then and that should keep me on track!

How has everyone's day been?

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 14/03/2019 21:00

Made a chicken potato and parnsip bhuna. Had a piece of naan and lime ride

Saved most of my calories for tonight and was worth it. Had a few calories left to hit 1000 so just had a juicy orange

Happy day :)

TickVG · 14/03/2019 21:06

Wow cricketmum you have a personal trainer in the making! Smile your dinner sounds v worth it investigator and fab willpower to get yourself through the day so you could enjoy the meal fully with your family. I've gone a bit over today- I'll be at 1700 by close. I felt a little light headed in my exercise class and took that as justification to have a few pre school run snacks. So day looked like: B: half portion of overnight oats with plums, followed by scrambled eggs with plum tomatoes; L: small portion Bolognese with kale on the side; S: half a trek cereal bar, blackberries with yoghurt, couple of toddler biscuits and a cracker with ham Blush; D: Thai spiced chicken. And for pudding, a treat sized bag of maltesers Smile

TickVG · 14/03/2019 21:07

Ooh funky- bhuna sounds delish!

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 14/03/2019 21:15

It was an Aldi spice and sauce which I bulked out 🙊

cricketmum84 · 14/03/2019 21:45

Haha I certainly have! She's so funny 😂 she loves all the rocky films so we call her Mick after the old trainer guy who makes rocky do all the extra workouts! Every time I moved onto the next weight machine in the circuit she was sat there giving me thumbs up!

ZsaZsaMc · 14/03/2019 22:02

My day was OK although there was a frantic 10 minute period where I kept eating my daughter’s leftovers!

Breakfast, fruit and yoghurt. Lunch, 3 eggs scrambled and one slice of toast. Dinner, chicken salad. Snacks including ww biscuit and options hot chocolate.

DH was supposed to be going out for drinks tomorrow which would help my diet as I could stay in and be good but he might not go now - and will probably suggest a takeaway.

I definitely associate food with relaxing at the end of the week / treating and rewarding myself in general!

999caffeineplease · 14/03/2019 23:21

I had a really stressful day, which ended with some issues with work colleagues. I’ve never settled in well with them in the sense they’re all friends outside of work and I’ve never quite got to that point, and it means I’m always on the outside/to blame. Hey, just two months left til I graduate and can move on to a full time job (hopefully).

I’m an emotional eater so I’m proud of myself for not leaving work and getting a takeaway. Instead, today I’ve had a smoothie for breakfast (233cals), turkey and veg for lunch (222cals), an orange and a black coffee on my break, and some porridge after my shift. (265cals). Ending the day on 902 cals and have spent most of the day running about ragged so I’m counting that as activity haha.

pepguardi · 15/03/2019 06:58

So my scales are annoying this morning.

I stepped on and off about 6 times and every time I was a different weight anywhere between 9st 4 and 9st 9 Hmm

cricketmum84 · 15/03/2019 07:04

@pepguardi my scales at home are the same :(

I've changed my weigh on day to a Saturday now and get weighed at the gym rather on home scales. Much more accurate and it means I have to go to the gym on a Saturday morning and can't cop out and be lazy 😂

pepguardi · 15/03/2019 07:07

@cricketmum84 I normally do it about 3 times so I know it's an accurate(ish) reading but they just weren't playing ball today!
