Half a stone off in March

SingaporeSlinky · 01/03/2019 09:03

Carrying on from the February thread and new joiners welcome, fresh slate for March!

I’ve weighed in today at 10st 1lb so I’m determined to at the very least get down to 9-something this month! Ideally the half stone by the end of March when I go on holiday. Who’s in?

@glenthebattleostrich

That's fantastic!! It's always good when there's something to aim for too, and before you know it, you'll be under 14st!

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 13/03/2019 11:03

I feel ever so queasy today

shakeapoo · 13/03/2019 11:17

Well done on the losses everyone! I'm not weighing myself until 1st April so just trying my best and keeping fingers crossed until then 🤞🏻😬. My theory is it will feel more satisfying to see one big loss but could backfire if it turns out to be 1lb!

TheInvestigator · 13/03/2019 11:19

@FunkyBarnYardBroom

Do you think it's just due to cutting down on sugar etc and your body is adjusting to the change? Or are you not eating enough in general?

Maybe have something a bit more satisfying today, but not overboard, and see if it helps?

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 13/03/2019 11:25

Investigator - not sure really. I had egg mushrooms and tomatoes for breakfast. Same as yesterday.

I slept better than I have in ages.

Maybe I'm just feeling under the weather? Had a couple of gummy sweets and will see how I get on. Lunch is 230 as I finish work at 2

TheInvestigator · 13/03/2019 11:57

It could be a mix of feeling tired, overworked and just blergh, which is always worse when you can't have your favourite food!

Pick something super yummy for lunch. I was feeling really empty this morning so I had 2 hash browns, egg in a hole (with real butter) and my usual cappuccino. So I'm at 574 calories already, but I feel so much happier! If I have my 190cal soup for lunch and a tuna salad for dinner then I will still be under 1000 for the day. Might even be able to have a biscuit! You can deffo still indulge whilst staying on track.

@FunkyBarnYardBoom

It might be that you're going through withdrawals, or maybe you're not eating enough to make up for the exercise and it's catching up with you? Or perhaps you're just ill!

Maybe take it a bit easier this evening if you're still feeling that way after lunch.

999caffeineplease · 13/03/2019 12:07

I definitely think it's important to still have a treat every so often, it makes it so much easier to keep going, and I think your body and mind thank you for it.

(I am very wise, mhm)

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 13/03/2019 12:32

I shall have a yummy lunch then. Had a lunchtime walk. Blowy out. Gusts of 85mph which were interesting to walk in to. Great as they pushed me along 😂

pepguardi · 13/03/2019 13:12

120g of wholegrain rice and quinoa, a handful of chicken breast strips and a dash of soy sauce for lunch today!

What is everyone else having?

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 13/03/2019 15:08

Ready meal chicken hotpot and a slice of bread for me

I'm eyeing up a chocolate oatie biscuit

TickVG · 13/03/2019 15:24

I did something a bit weird today. Don't know if anyone else saw the traybake thread in chat a week or so ago but it made me want one of those filthy no-bake traybakes so bad. So I decided once I got below 10stone I would do myself a mini one and fit it into my calories somehow. So today I skipped breakfast and had 400 calories worth of golden syrup, maltesers, biscuit and butter. It was amaaaazing. Now waiting for the sugar low Grin.hopefully got it out of my system. Now back to healthy eating!

ZsaZsaMc · 13/03/2019 16:07

Omg tick that sounds amazing! Also well done for going below 10st (this will be a big milestone if / when I get there!). I also put around 4 stone(!) on during pregnancy which was impressive Grin

TheInvestigator · 13/03/2019 16:37

Oh god! I saw that thread and have been thinking about disgetive, Maltesers and condensed milk since!!

I think I will copy your idea and once I reach 11stone, I'm having a mini tray for a treat!

P.s. I love it when a sentence start with "I did something a bit weird today"...

TickVG · 13/03/2019 16:45

Haha! Oh noooo, I hope I'm not spreading my filthy habits around the thread Investigator! Ahhh zsazsa it's always great to find someone else who put on as much as I did in pregnancy. MN seems to be full of people who put on teeny amounts (or even lost weight). Whereas for both mine I was just constantly carbo-loading! Grin

chilli01 · 13/03/2019 16:48

Hi everyone, can I join?! I'm roughly 10st7 at the moment and need to get to about my usual 9st in June. Not a great dieter but we'll see how it goes..?!

Bomato · 13/03/2019 16:49

Hi!
Was 9st 12lbs last week and about to weigh in this afternoon. Got my period today so I don't think it'll be a big loss.
I started on October 31st at 11 stone and aiming to get to my target weight of 9 stone by beginning of May.

TheInvestigator · 13/03/2019 16:53

You definitely aren't alone Tick. I was 7st 7 BC (before children). Now I'm 11st10.5 was 12st 6 at my heaviest. I blame the cravings for cheese!

TheInvestigator · 13/03/2019 16:54

Hello! @chilli01

Don't worry; we've all have wobbles, but we're still here. Whenever you're feeling like you're going to splurge, you can come here for some moral support!

thisonebreath · 13/03/2019 17:11

Tick and Investigator I put on 3 stone during pregnancy. I ate ALL the carbs and ALL the cheese. Unlike my other two pregnancies it is stubbornly clinging to me.

RazzleDoddle · 13/03/2019 17:22

I hope there is room at the inn. I need to shift a good couple of stone otherwise I'm going to end up a chubby, miserable mess this summer Sad

The weight is having a horrible effect on my health both physically and mentally. I am planning to start off light and up my water intake, cut down on portion size & snacking, and fit in some exercise a couple of times a week.

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 13/03/2019 18:10

Hello Newbies!!

Welcome welcome!! 😁

999caffeineplease · 13/03/2019 18:48

Had a turkey breast, cauliflower rice and Brussels sprouts for tea, covered in Worcester sauce to make it taste nice Grin then a fruit salad. Worked out at 423 cals according to mfp.

Had a long day on my feet at work and will go for either a run or a cycle tonight aswell. Suddenly have loads of motivation, let’s see how long this lasts!

TheInvestigator · 13/03/2019 18:52

I'm at 999 calories for today... But I really want a biscuit!! Help!!!

chilli01 · 13/03/2019 19:12

Thanks @FunkyBarnYardBroom and @TheInvestigator!!

999 cal- wow that's impressive! I find that when I have to make the hard choices (not too eat something/to go to the gym with no motivation) I improve the most and feel more motivated the next day!!
