Half a stone off in March

SingaporeSlinky · 01/03/2019 09:03

Carrying on from the February thread and new joiners welcome, fresh slate for March!

I’ve weighed in today at 10st 1lb so I’m determined to at the very least get down to 9-something this month! Ideally the half stone by the end of March when I go on holiday. Who’s in?

So I managed 2000 side steps using the Wii fit board whilst watching glee. That's something

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 06/03/2019 19:42

Anyone want to be MFP or Fitbit pals?

ZsaZsaMc · 06/03/2019 19:44

@Funky sorry to hear you’re having a down day. I’m not exercising either due to a problem with my foot - but impressed with everyone’s else motivation!

@mecury I’m also doing WW for the first time online and so far quite impressed with it. I haven’t actually had to change what I’d usually eat for dinner too much and I like that it is more general - wine is 5 points etc rather than counting exact calories!

SingaporeSlinky · 06/03/2019 19:59

Oh I’d forgotten I had a Wii fit board too, I’ll have a go on that tomorrow!

Wow 6 years of never hitting the goal 🤔😳😳

Congrats on 6 years with MyFitnessPal!

Now's a good time to reflect on what motivated you to join MyFitnessPal 6 years ago and all that you've accomplished since then.

Healthy living is a journey — not a destination — so keep on logging!

SingaporeSlinky · 06/03/2019 20:50

Is that the message you got from MFP Funky?

FunkyBarnYardBroom · 06/03/2019 21:10

Oh on and off really. This time I feel more determined though.

I need to make a permanent change.

TickVG · 06/03/2019 21:19

I have weight records on MFP going back to 2012! Blush mind you at that point my challenge was to lose weight for my wedding. On 31 jul 2013 I was 132lbs....but very much failed to sustain that and kept yo-yoing doing low carb diets. This time I feel I need to achieve something that's sustainable. I'd be up for being friends on MFP if you were funky - I need to be held accountable!

Good morning all. Weighing in on day 7 at 9st 12lbs
That’s 3lbs this week, total 12lbs.
I’ve had a sluggish few days so I’m pleased I still exercised and didn’t give in to my chocolate cravings!

Morning Slinky and everyone!

Today is going to be a good one!
No snacking and hopefully a little run later.

Sending motivational vibes!

thisonebreath · 07/03/2019 08:08

Fab motivational vibes MrsVole. I'm not up yet as the baby is falling asleep on me. Going to do 2nd day of shred and no snacking! If the rain holds off I'll go for a walk as well.

Have a great day everyone.

Morning!

Congrats for al the losses and achievements and HUGE understanding/encouragement to those who are struggling. My own weight loss starts in my head. If I am well, have a stable life (with no people near me dying, losing jobs or being bullied at work, and in work) I am fairly ok with food, but as soon as any of my walls start to crumble... here come the desserts, the emotional eating. At the moment is a relative oasis of calm within a storm and I am having therapy for my anxiety hoping to be able to express it in a way that is not as self destructive as overeating. Sharing my experience in case it's helpful to the group.

Today I am super knackered after yesterday - to cut a long story short, on the positive 20,000 done steps but fell into a public transport nightmare on the way back so got home past 9pm! This morning I woke up all chirpy at 6ish and did 45 mins exercise before waking up DS for school and thought to myself, I am awesome, I have cracked this! ... and now I feel like going back to bed.

But I am really proud to say that even working out of the house and with various transport chaos I managed to eat well and stay within my points allowance - it required a bit of creative thinking like going out of the train station and look for a supermarket where I found boiled eggs and roast chicken breast for sale but it's a lot easier to do this kind of things now that even only five years ago - supermarkets have woken up to the "healthy eating pound"!

Have a lovely day all

SingaporeSlinky · 07/03/2019 10:38

Anyone else weighing in today? Day 7 of the month, good time to see how we’re all doing.

Thanks to my fasting I've lost a whopping 13lbs since the 1st! Feeling amazing and super chuffed with myself. It's really noticeable and wish I had taken a before pic! ....might carry on with it as I'm not hungry and feeling fab 😍 I need to research it first though.
Only downside is my brain is running on all cylinders so I'm waking up in the middle of night thinking about things that really don't need thinking about at 3am 😆

BoundByBriars · 07/03/2019 10:56

Day: 7
Loss: 5lb

I’m finding I have no energy to move or think clearly in the hardest part of my day - 5-7pm so I’m moving when I have my highest calorie meal so I can be alert during this time. I’m really feeling a craving for salt and water too, which I’ve read is a thing with low carb, so I’m going to up my intake of those from now on.

TickVG · 07/03/2019 11:08

I'm 3lbs down since the 1st - so going in right direction. Well done spicy - amazing results with fasting. Have you tried the spiced stewed plums breakfast that Michael Moseley recommends for 5:2. I had it this morning and it was so delicious. Not normally the kind of thing I'd go for at all. Boundby I think moving your main meal to that time is really sensible- I'd do that too if I could and when I've been able to, it's really helped.

AmIWelcome · 07/03/2019 11:15

Some amazing results so far well done everyone! I am weighing in each friday so tomorrow is the big day.

So far this week (since last Friday) I have been to the gym 6 times which has burnt off a quite surprising 4800 calories in total so hoping for good numbers tomorrow :)

Spicylolly · 07/03/2019 11:38

Tick: no I havdnt, I'm doing a water fast so no food what so ever, to be honest I'm not a fruit fan at all so probably would like that 😆

I'm Gameface on fitbit if anyone wants to add me 👍

TickVG · 07/03/2019 11:48

Ohhhh ok spicy wow hadn't realised- you are hardcore!

SingaporeSlinky · 07/03/2019 11:59

Good losses everyone! I reckon we’re on track then for the half stone, still 3 weeks left!

Spicy that’s a huge amount! How long is the recommended fasting? Should it be coming to an end now, and then just calorie counting? How do you feel? Do you feel nearly a stone lighter?
