@huggybear that’s so impressive !

I weigh in everyday as it keeps me accountable but look at weekly average to account for losses. Everyday weigh in doesn’t work for everyone but it definitely does for me.

I have been AWOL. Got to about the15th of the month and realised I hadn’t lost anything so decided to go up to 3 fast days for the last two weeks in the hope I can lose 3 lbs and get into a healthy BMI by the end of the month.

huggybear well done on stopping smoking.

Huggybear16 · 23/02/2019 12:17

Thanks! I stopped smoking in 2016 when I was pregnant. It was easy then as I was doing it for the baby. I never got back up to the 20 a day habit, but was noticing my "one or two a day" was becoming 10+ again. I hate it, and every time I smoked I was filled with guilt about second hand smoke, so enough was enough last Saturday and I haven't smoked since.

I think I'll end up weighing daily again. I just wanted to give my first week back my 100%. If I got to day 3 or 4 and hadn't lost anything, then I'd probably give up. But you're right about it keeping you accountable. I may sneak a few treats if weigh in day is a few days away, but if I'm weighing the next day it will make me think twice.

Good luck to you all for next weigh in. I'm on day 6 today. I haven't been perfect every day, but have managed to average it out over the week for my mini goals (10k steps, 1200 cals). I'm really hoping I get a loss on Monday!

AutumnNymph · 24/02/2019 09:43

Happy Sunday everyone ! How everyone’s having a good weekend and enjoying the glorious weather if you are in the same patch of the globe as me.

Weighed in this morning at 56kgs and more importantly my weekly average is 56.1 which I am pleased about, this is motivation for me to stay sane the last 4 days of Feb and finish Feb on goal.

Morning all. Well done autumn, huggy and others. Great to see some losses Flowers

I've been a bit quiet this week. I've been nursing a bad back since Tuesday. I think it was the result of cooking for 50 people. I tried to carry a hot pan of vegan chilli and it was far too heavy. Must remember I'm old now! Blush

Yesterday I just walked all day because every time I sat down it seized up. Only gentle walking but I clocked 18k stepsGrin

It's much better today so I've done some gentle gardening this morning and I will go for a walk later. I'm also going to start my daily yoga again.

I am also experimenting with fasting this weekend. I have gone from 6pm to 12 noon with no food and then had 2 healthy meals. Yesterday I had 1200 cals and wasn't really hungry. I've got half an hour to go today and it's been fine.

Not sure if I'll manage it at work though. Too many annoying people for my hanger to cope with Grin

I hope the sunny weather is inspiring everyone.

Huggybear16 · 25/02/2019 06:42

Well done on your loss Autumn. 18k steps in a day is fab Kick especially with a bad back. I've read a bit on fasting and it is something I'm having a think about. I may introduce it in one way or another once after a few weeks of calorie counting.

It's Monday, my weigh-in day, and I'm 55.1kg. So I've lost 1.3kg this week. Not bad for week 1! I have been eating pretty much whatever I want, as long as I didn't go over 1200 cals and managed at least 10k steps. I'm not sure what I'll do differently this week, if anything. Maybe 11k steps? Or swap in more veg? Some days were a little carb heavy so it's something to think about.

Peridot1 · 25/02/2019 07:10

Hello! Popping back in to mark my place. I’ve been utterly crap. And I have just weighed am 11 and a half pounds up on my lowest weight last October. And 5 pounds up on my weight in January!

But I’m back on it. Starting a detox Bootcamp today for a week. No wheat, sugar, dairy or alcohol. Or caffeine. I will have some cups of tea though.

Will catch upon the thread later but just wanted to say hi!

AutumnNymph · 25/02/2019 08:26

Wb @peridot !

I started PMSIng last evening and for me these days that seems to strike with lots of hunger and insomnia - not a great combo! Been up since 2 am and have tried to keep it fairly healthy with what I have eaten but I know I will go over my 1200 easily. I do know from history that anything I gain now I will los once periods start. Have missed mynweigh in today as with a sleepless night of inhaling food there is no point!

Thankfully am working from home today and tomorrow; so I can catch a short nap between meetings at some point.

Can I pop back in shamefully. I've just been eating and eating. I'm now 9 stone 8 which at under 5ft is terrible. I'd like to be 7 stone 10 aa I was happy at that weight but will accept 8 stone. So 22lb to loose in 15 weeks (family wedding) doable at 1.5lb a week loss vut not easy for me. I'm considering trying 5:2 but not sure if fasting would be better work days or home with the kids days. Weekends are my nemesis.

Foreverlexicon · 25/02/2019 09:37

@huggybear very impressed you’re doing both at the same time!

I’ve just weighed in. 1.6lb loss which I’m happy with, I’ve weighed in after 6 days as I’m having drinks and a takeaway tonight. I’m an insomniac and only managed 4.5 hours sleep as well so I like to imagine 2lb loss really!

Hopefully I’ll lose 0.8 by Friday for my 7lb for the month!

Huggybear16 · 25/02/2019 12:31

Hello everyone! Thanks @Foreverlexicon

I actually feel pretty shitty about the smoking tbh. I didn't tell anyone I started to smoke again in RL. I quit when pregnant then hid the fact I started again after giving birth. The guilt of second hand smoke for my 2 year old, plus the fact that my dad died less than a year ago from cancer, makes me so ashamed. So nobody knows I'm quitting because nobody knew I was smoking. I will celebrate my success here, as you are the only people I have told. 9 days smoke free today though, so I'm pleased with that.

Keeping an eye on my weight follows that. I don't want to swap the cigarettes for snacks.

Well done everyone. I'm glad to find a board with fellow shorties also. Being 5ft exactly means a few extra lbs makes me look ever so round!

Huggybear16 · 25/02/2019 12:35

Oh and @AutumnNymph I thought of you earlier today.

I carried my son up 6 flights of stairs. I couldn't wait to put him down and felt ridiculously light when I did. He's 12kg, so I kind of know how you feel to lose that now! It must be a great relief on your back and knees, as well as all the other benefits.

Lucked · 25/02/2019 12:36

Finally a loss 3lbs off from Feb start weight. My extra fast days are paying off.

Also my BMI is 24.8
Last time I had a health BMI was mid 2015.

I would like to loose another 1lb by Thursday and the end of the month.

Peridot1 · 25/02/2019 15:07

I’ve just managed to catch up with the thread. Nice to see some familiar names and some new ones.

I’m doing ok today so far. Even went out for a walk.

I’m definitely the heaviest on the thread I think. 15st 5.3 this morning. Am 5ft 7 though. My goal is 10 st 7. Haven’t see that for years and years and years!

I had a smoothie for breakfast and soup for lunch. Feeling really bloated now! Chicken and roast veg planned for dinner. And loads of water. And an early night!

AutumnNymph · 25/02/2019 19:10

well done on the losses everyone! I have had an okay day today but feel so bloated - i have upped the water intake today in the hope that will help.

Will get back on the scale tomorrow to face what it says. i am so tired i am hoping I have a good nights sleep. Weigh ins are never good without proper sleep; atleast not for me.

Hi Everyone, I am rejoining the thread after lurking in shame for most of January Blush Have managed to get things mostly back under control but too scared to weigh until I've had a golden stretch. Still trying to get to 9st 8lbs, few more pounds to go but they're the hardest ones and I keep drinking too much wine! Grin

goingonabearhunt1 · 25/02/2019 22:49

I have managed to get back to spin class this month though and am trying to instigate an alcohol only on Thurs-Sun rule. Also doing MFP and 16:8.

Hoolahoophop · 26/02/2019 06:33

Autumn Im with you on the poor sleep poor weigh in feeling. Though I think mine is poor sleep poor decision making....for the last 4 years. Blush

KickBishopBrennanUpTheArse · 26/02/2019 07:45

Morning all. I hit 11 2.6 this morning Grin

A great improvement on the 11 5 from last week (which was definitely a blip!)

I just need to stay under 11 3 to end the month lower than I started it but it would be nice to see 11 1 again so I'mback in the healthy BMI zone.

Fasting is going well but today will be a test because I went running last night so I'd normally be extra hungry.

Have a good day everyone.

Dashel · 26/02/2019 09:07

Hi everyone,

I will have a proper read through later but I wanted to update and refocus
I had what at work they called a rebound flu. I felt achy exhausted and barely moved for a week or so and apart from that have had Valentine’s Day and a wedding anniversary so had a fair few meals out and we went away.

I haven’t weighed myself the weekend just gone but the week before I put in half a pound 😢

I am now feeling a lot better and due to go to my exercise class tonight. I need to get back on track with my fitness and diet. I did so well loosing 7 pounds in 5 weeks and I don’t want to undo my good work.

I have also made the decision to go tee total. I am not good at having just one glass and the effects of multiple glasses is extra calories in, eating crap when tipsy, eating more the next day and having hangovers where I don’t do the exercise I meant to. Doing dry January made me realise that I am happier without any alcohol - which was a bit of a shock.

I also know I need to get back on the scales so am going to do that tomorrow 😳

Peridot1 · 26/02/2019 09:32

Morning all. It seems Jan and Feb have been a struggle for lots of people. Makes me feel a bit better!

Day one of my detox done. Good nights sleep. Have had porridge for breakfast with almond milk and blueberries. Am still starving though!

Sneaky weigh in and I’m down .8 of a pound since yesterday. I know it’s not to be counted on but it is encouraging!

Planning a walk again today.

Dashel - well done on Dry January. I tried. Managed two days. And they weren’t even consecutive! I do often think I should go tee total but can’t see it happening. A friend switched to not drinking at home for January which helped a lot.

AutumnNymph · 26/02/2019 09:38

Weighed in this morning and am up 150 gms which isn’t too bad - the focus in on being golden rest of this week and end Feb maintaining 56 as I had aimed.

Welcome back @kokoloco

You are right about summer! We are booked for 10 days in Crete mid July and I was just reminding myself this morning that swim wear season will be here before I know it.

Hello Slenderistas!

Huggy WELL BLOODY DONE on kicking the fags, that's amazing! It's so common to gain when you quit, so you're absolutely smashing it by being on top of both at once. Also I had a similar revelation to yours when looking after a friend's child a while ago; I didn't carry her up 6 flights of stairs (hardcore! Shock ) but I was lugging her around and remarked that she was getting heavy, and friend said she weighed about 11 kilos. I was struck by the fact that that's pretty much what I've lost, I couldn't believe how heavy it felt when it was external to my body!

Welcome back into the fold Hoola, Peridot and bearhunt, take a seat on the wagon Grin I think as you said Peri a number of us have either been drifting or overtaken by events so far this year, so it's been pretty quiet but we're all in the same boat. I predict that now the weather's suddenly so beautiful everyone will get a burst of energy.

Dash gosh, well done for busting through Dry Jan and deciding to carry it on! The weight will absolutely drop off you I'm sure, I've always found alcohol seems more fattening than its calories account for. I'm certainly not teetotal, but I now not only tolerate but actually relish being dry during the week. (Not that I don't look forward to Friday rolling around Wink )
